Bimisire

Eight-year-old Bimisire was raised in Nigeria but now calls Saskatoon, Saskatchewan home. She lives with her parents, grandmother, and twin baby siblings. Bimisire takes us on a tour of her space where she loves to read and get creative with computer coding. She also shows us her favourite traditional Nigerian ASO OKE, complete with gele headdress. Bimisire takes us to a skatepark where she shows off her bike tricks and then returns home to prepare Pounded Yam and Egusi Soup with her mom and grandmother. It’s a dish that binds the Yoruba and Edo tribes from different parts of Nigeria. She even makes time to show off some of her Nigerian dance moves with the entire family. The day is not complete without Bimisire receiving a special message from someone who motivates her to continue pursuing her goal of becoming a lawyer just like her mom!
