Yaphet

Yaphet is a 9-year-old boy who lives in Toronto, Ontario. He is Eritrean Canadian and has been fascinated with space since he was in kindergarten. One day, he hopes to become the first Black Canadian astronaut! At the Science Centre, he tells us about his love of spacecraft technology and spacesuits - and about his dream of going to the International Space Station, Mars, and the Moon! Back home, Yaphet gives us a tour of his room and his favourite things, including his pictures of spaceships, his drawings, and his kindness and caring awards. He also helps his mom make injera, an Eritrean bread - yum! - for a special family dinner. After, Yaphet receives a special surprise from his role model who shares his passion for space and tells him to shoot for the stars!
