The file label: "Past and presents" It's Tilly's birthday, but the kids pretend they've forgotten because they're planning a surprise party. Tilly won't stop dropping hints - she even chooses a mystery about gifts. As E.B. and Kyla try to solve the mystery - visiting a party planner, a Christmas store, and an origami specialist who makes elaborate Japanese gift boxes - they pick up Tilly's gifts along the way. They discover that different cultures have a variety of gift-giving traditions, but we give presents for similar reasons.
