Nicole

Nicole is a 9-year-old girl who lives in Toronto, Ontario with her musical family. She is Canadian, Burundian and Chilean and she loves singing and making music videos with her father! Nicole takes us to her dance class, where she learns the Amagaba dance, a traditional Burundian dance! She introduces us to the ancient art of Burundian drumming and the beautiful fabrics worn in Burundi called, Imvutano. In her room, she shows us all the belts she has earned in Karate. They are so colourful! After, we join Nicole at her Karate class where she is training to get her black belt. She loves to spar with her classmates and demonstrates some of her favourite moves! She loves Karate not only because it's fun, but because it teaches you to believe in yourself and find your inner strength! Nicole takes us on a tour of the Toronto Zoo where we meet giraffes and learn about the biggest Crocodile in the world! Then it's dinnertime and Nicole and her family eat some yummy Ubugari, a traditional Burundian dish! Her parents surprise her with an inspirational message from someone that encourages Nicole to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor!
