Transcript: Adjectives (Video)
In animation, a teacher in front of a class says HELLO, CLASS!
TODAY WE'RE GOING TO LEARN ABOUT
ADJECTIVES.
AN ADJECTIVE IS A DESCRIBING
WORD.
FOR EXAMPLE, YOU COULD SAY, I'M
WEARING A TIE, OR YOU COULD SAY
I AM WEARING A HANDSOME TIE.
HANDSOME IS A WORD THAT
DESCRIBES MY TIE.
WHAT'S THAT?
YES I'M BEING SERIOUS.
MY GRANDPA MADE ME THIS TIE AND
I LOVE MY GRANPALY, BOOBLY,
BOBBLY BOO!
[Children laughing]
The teacher says YOU KNOW WHAT, LET'S JUST
WATCH THE BOOBLY BOBBLY VIDEO.
[Music playing]
He plays the video.
A song says AN ADJECTIVE IS THE WAY
TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SAY
AN APPLE IS A NOUN.
A NOUN'S A PERSON, PLACE OR
THING.
AN ADJECTIVE DESCRIBES THE NOUN.
PLEASE DON'T MIX UP THESE
THINGS.
SO NOW THIS APPLE IS ROUND.
THIS APPLE IS GREEN.
THIS APPLE IS DELICIOUS.
THAT APPLE IS MEAN.
AN ADJECTIVE IS THE WAY
TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SAY
YEAH AN ADJECTIVE WILL
DESCRIBE, MOST ANYTHING AT ALL.
LIKE THIS BOOK IS GREAT, THAT
DOG IS SMALL AND HERE IS SOME
COLD WATER, AND THERE IS A BLUE
LAKE, HERE IS A BRIGHT LIGHT AND
THERE'S A LONG SNAKE.
AN ADJECTIVE IS THE WAY
TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SAY
AN ADJECTIVE IS THE WAY
TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SAY
Adjectives on screen read "small, round, great, green, long, mean, cold, delicious, bright, and blue."
The song ends.
The teacher says SO AN ADJECTIVE IS WAY TO
DESCRIBE A PERSON, PLACE OR
THING.
CAN YOU THINK OF AN EXAMPLE?
YES, AH, MY HEAD IS VERY ROUND.
AH, YEAH, ROUND LIKE A FISH
BOWL, OR A PURPLE BASKETBALL,
OR... YOU KNOW WHAT, WHY DON'T
WE GO BACK TO MY TIE.
ANYONE WANT TO COMMENT ON MY
TIE?
ANYONE?
[School bell ringing]
Children laugh.
[Music playing]
