Transcript: The Name Game
(music plays)
The show opens with a green apple holding up the word "It." The apple stands in front of a green billboard that reads "Matters." An orange and banana walk up to the apple. The apple jumps on top of the orange and places the word "It" next to "Matters."
Banafsha, the strawberry, types on a laptop. A caption reads "My name is Banafsha. My story goes like this..."
Banafsha stands with the rest of his family, surrounded by boxes, and narrates THIS SUMMER
ME AND MY FAMILY MOVED
AND I HAD TO GO TO A
DIFFERENT SCHOOL,
NONE OF THE KIDS LOOKED LIKE ME.
Banafsha stands in a playground with other fruits and continues AND WHEN I TOLD THEM MY NAME IS
BANAFSHA, THEY MADE FUN OF ME.
She talks to a pear, who says DID YOU SAY
YOUR NAME WAS BANANA?
The other fruits laugh, and Banafsha narrates I WAS REALLY SAD.
SO I WENT TO MY TEACHER.
She talks to her teacher, a pineapple, who says I'M SORRY TO HEAR THAT,
BANAFSHA.
I WILL SPEAK WITH THEM.
Later in the playground, the teacher talks to the other fruits, and Banafsha narrates SHE TALKED TO THE OTHER KIDS AND
TOLD THEM HOW I WAS FEELING.
I NEVER GOT MADE FUN OF AGAIN.
AND NOW, EVERYONE KNOWS
HOW TO SAY MY NAME.
AND I LIKE GOING TO SCHOOL.
The pear says BANAFSHA,
COME PLAY WITH US.
Back on his laptop, Banafsha types "My teacher is really nice and helped me make new friends. If I ever feel sad again I will tell her."
She says THAT'S MY STORY,
AND IT MATTERS.
