The sun yawns and blinks its eye while it shines over a colourful town.
(Rooster crowing)
Doodoowah, a black creature with a curly tail, sleeps while it hangs from a pole.
(Snoring)
Doobeedoo, a black cat, sleeps on a yellow wall.
(Rooster crowing)
Ta-Da, a black fish, smiles while it blows bubbles in a fishbowl.
Jasmine wakes up. She peeks through a diamond-shaped window in her home. Jasmine has a round head head, one eye, and red hair tied up with a blue headband.
She says,
GOOD MORNING, TA-DA!
GOOD MORNING, DOOBEEDOO!
(Yowling)
Doobeedoo leaps into the air as it wakes up
GOOD MORNING, DOODOOWAH!
ARE YOU ALL READY FOR A DAY
FULL OF MUSIC?
(Groaning)
Jambo slowly travels toward the house dragging an orange and red saxophone behind him. Jambo is a large, blue, lump-like creature wearing a white bow tie and a blue fedora.
Jasmine shouts,
GOOD MORNING, JAMBO!
(Groaning and yawning)
Jambo replies,
UGH!
GOOD NIGHT, JASMINE.
He hangs the saxophone on a hook.
Jasmine asks,
WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "GOOD NIGHT"?
IT'S DAYTIME!
Jambo says,
REAL MUSICIANS SOMETIMES RUN
ON A DIFFERENT SCHEDULE.
I'VE BEEN UP ALL NIGHT, AND
RIGHT NOW, WHAT I NEED TO DO IS
TO TAKE A NAP.
Jambo lies in a hammock outside the house.
Jasmine replies,
OH!
DOES THAT MEAN WE WON'T BE
PLAYING MUSIC TODAY?
Jambo answers,
NO!
WE'LL BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE,
WHICH IS ALSO VERY NICE.
WE'RE GOING TO BE QUIET.
(Jambo snoring)
Jambo smiles while he sleeps. Jasmine leaps down to him.
She says,
BUT BEING QUIET IS REALLY
BORING!
Jambo replies,
BEING QUIET IS MUCH HARDER
THAN MAKING MUSIC.
Jasmine says, OH, YEAH?
Jambo says,
FOR SURE!
ESPECIALLY IN SOUNDLAND!
Jasmine asks, REALLY?
Jambo adds,
WE'LL JUST HAVE TO SEE IF YOU
CAN ACTUALLY MANAGE TO DO IT.
Jasmine replies,
OF COURSE, I CAN!
WE'LL ALL BE QUIET!
She shouts,
WE HAVE TO BE QUIET,
DOOBEEDOO!
WE HAVE TO BE QUIET, TA-DA!
WE HAVE TO BE QUIET,
DOODOOWAH!
(Yowling)
Doobeedoo jumps off of the wall. Ta-Da and Doodoowah leap to the ground.
Jambo plugs his ears.
He says, OH, JASMINE...
Jasmine replies,
OOPS.
WE HAVE TO BE QUIET, JASMINE.
She zips her lips.
(Groaning)
Jambo closes his eye again.
LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA
(Snoring)
The Lalalas, three musical notes, hop toward Jambo and Jasmine.
They sing,
LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA
LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA
Jasmine whispers, SHH!
(Snoring)
Jasmine points. The Lalalas bounce away from her.
They sing, LA-LA-LA
Jasmine says, HMM.
(Meowing)
The Lalalas bounce toward Doobeedoo. Jasmine looks worried.
She says, DOOBEEDOO, NO!
(Meowing)
Doobeedoo looks at the Lalalas. They bounce away from it.
The Lalalas shout, LA!
Doobeedoo chases the Lalalas while Jambo continues to sleep in the hammock.
(Snoring)
Jasmine chases Doobeedoo and the Lalala into the house. She watches them climb onto the balcony and leap from rooftop to rooftop.
(Meowing)
Doobeedoo runs into Ta-Da’s fishbowl. The bowl rolls off the roof and bubbles float into the air.
The Lalalas say, LA.
(Meowing)
Jasmine catches Ta-Da’s fishbowl in her red hair.
She says, OH!
(Meowing)
Doobeedoo chases a Lalala past Jasmine.
Jasmine says, PHEW!
(Snoring)
While Jambo sleeps, Doodoowah makes musical noises as it swings from one pole to another.
Jasmine looks out a window and smiles.
She says,
PHEW...
AH...
Jasmine chases Doobeedoo and the Lalalas to the house. Doobeedoo and the Lalala’s rush inside.
(Clattering)
(Meowing)
Doobeedoo knocks a salt shaker out of the window. Jasmine catches it and takes a deep breath.
She says, PHEW!
Jasmine shakes the salt shaker.
(Clattering)
Pots fall out the window. Jasmine catches them. Doobeedoo and the Lalala jump out of the window and bounce off of the pots.
Jasmine says, OH!
(Snoring)
Jambo continues to sleep in the hammock.
Jasmine lifts pats off her head.
She says,
HMM?!
JUST YOU WAIT, DOOBEEDOO!
Doobeedoo chases three Lalalas.
(Meowing)
Jasmine chases Doobeedoo.
(Meowing)
The Lalalas bounce from window to window. Doobeedoo and Jasmine follow them.
(Growling)
Doobeedoo leaps onto Jasmine’s head and pounces at the Lalalas.
(Meowing)
(Growling)
(Snoring)
Jambo sleeps.
Jasmine shouts, STOP!
Jambo leaps out of his bed.
(Crashing)
Jasmine pounds on a circular sheet of metal with a baton. Jambo falls to the ground.
He says,
FLUGELHORNS AND SOUSAPHONES!
WHAT'S ALL THIS NOISE?
Jasmine replies,
I'M TRYING TO KEEP EVERYONE
QUIET.
The Lalalas bounce past Jambo.
They say, LA-LA, LA-LA-LA!
(Meowing)
Doobeedoo chases the Lalalas.
Jambo says,
I CAN'T EVEN GET A LITTLE
PEACE, SO I CAN HAVE A SNOOZE!
(Meowing)
(Clattering)
The sun wakes up from a nap.
(Yowling)
Jambo shouts,
BE QUIET!
I WANT TO SLEEP!
BE QUIET!
HMPH!
Everyone watches Jambo get back into the hammock. He shuts his eyes and lies back.
(Sighing sadly)
Jasmine stands with Ta-Da on the rooftop.
She says,
TA-DA, I THINK I'M BETTER AT
MAKING MUSIC THAN BEING QUIET.
(Glass making soothing tone)
Jasmine runs her finger around the opening of Ta-Da’s fishbowl.
(Gasping)
Doobeedoo watches Jasmine and smiles.
(Meowing softly)
(Jasmine laughing)
Doobeedoo and the Lalalas fall asleep.
Jasmine says,
NOW YOU GO TO SLEEP!
HUH!
The Lalalas whisper, LA...
Doodoowah and Ta-Da fall asleep.
Jasmine says, AH!
(Purring)
(Snoring)
Everyone but Jasmine sleeps in Soundtown.
Jasmine says,
OF COURSE!
WE'LL NEVER BE QUIET, BUT
WE'LL HAVE THE BEST POSSIBLE
BACKGROUND MUSIC FOR A LITTLE
NAP.
(Laughing happily)
Jasmine rubs the opening of Ta-Da’s fishbowl with her finger again.
(Glass making soothing tone)
(Soothing music playing)
Ta-Da dreams of Jasmine making soothing music metal rods.
Jasmine shakes the salt shaker.
She sings,
SLEEP
CLOSE YOUR EYES
SLEEP

DRAWING NEAR
Jasmine taps the bottom of a pot with a spoon.
She sings,

Jasmine wakes up.
She says, QUIET.
Jambo wakes up and smiles.
He replies, THANK YOU, JASMINE.
(Sighing contentedly)
