A narrator says, BLOWING IN THE WIND.
(Jazz music playing)
In a dream, Jasmine plays a saxophone under a banner. Jambo sits with an audience watching Jasmine play. They all hold single red flowers.
(Cheering)
Jasmine finishes and everyone throws flowers to her. Jasmine bows.
Jambo cries, BRAVO, BRAVO!
(Cheering)
Jasmine opens her single eye and wakes up. The fantasy fades.
(Music playing)
Jasmine slides down a giant musical instrument and jumps inside it.
(Shouting excitedly)
Outside, Jambo uses a watering can to water flowers. One plant grows and sprouts a colourful rattle.
(Rattling)
Jambo smiles. He looks up. Jasmine stands on a ledge in the giant instrument and writes on a piece of paper.
Jambo asks, HUH? OH, WHAT ARE YOU WRITING?
Jasmine says, SHH.
Jasmine goes back to writing. She lifts the paper.
Jasmine shouts, I'VE GOT IT!
Jambo asks, WHAT HAVE YOU GOT?
Jasmine says, THE SONG IN MY DREAM. IF I DON'T WRITE DOWN MY DREAMS BEFORE BREAKFAST, I FORGET THEM. NOW I CAN FORGET ABOUT IT.
Jambo asks, DOES THAT MEAN WE CAN HAVE SOMETHING TO EAT?
The sun shines over the colourful abstract town.
(Wind rustling)
The sun watches as paper airplanes fly past.
(Music playing)
A paper airplane bounces off of a black cat.
(Meowing)
The cat jumps up as more airplanes fly toward it.
(Yowling)
One airplane lands in a fish bowl.
The airplane opens up to reveal writing inside. Jambo stands in a field growing musical instruments and reads.
Jambo reads, "THIS AFTERNOON, YOU ARE ALL INVITED TO ATTEND A VERY SPECIAL EVENT. A DREAM CONCERT."
Jambo bites a carrot.
(Munching)
Jambo calls, JASMINE! WHAT'S THIS?
Jasmine sends more paper airplanes flying.
Jasmine says, I'M GOING TO PLAY AN AMAZING SONG ON THE SAXOPHONE! AND EVERYONE WILL APPLAUD. RED ROSES WILL RAIN DOWN! IT'S GOING TO BE SO WONDERFUL.
(Giggling)
Jasmine asks, YOU'LL BE THERE, RIGHT?
Jambo says, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE THE SAME DREAM AGAIN, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO GO BACK TO BED AND SLEEP.
Jasmine says, I CAN'T! I HAVE TO GET THINGS READY.
Jasmine runs off.
(Grumbling)
Jambo turns into an old-fashioned bicycle and rolls after Jasmine.
(Bell dinging)
(Rattling)
Jasmine skips along. Jambo catches up with her.
(Humming)
Jambo says, YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THAT A LOT OF THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN DREAMS ONLY HAPPEN IN DREAMS.
Jasmine says, BUT IT'S VERY SIMPLE. I JUST WANT TO GIVE A CONCERT.
Jambo rolls on a small black creature and goes tumbling.
(Crashing)
Jasmine says, A DREAM CONCERT.
(Wind rustling)
Jambo’s small black hat blows away.
Jambo says, OH!
He extends his arm and catches it.
(Chuckling)
(Drum roll)
Jasmine adjusts a banner. She gives Jambo a red rose and passes them out to other creatures.
(Music playing)
Jasmine singing, LA-LA!
Jasmine sets up a music stand with a sheet of music on it.
Jasmine says, THERE WE ARE, JUST LIKE MY DREAM. OH, WE'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT. IN MY DREAM, THE SUN WAS SHINING.
(Wind rustling)
Blue-grey clouds move in front of the sun.
Jambo says, JASMINE, HURRY UP, IT'S LATE. AND IT'S ABOUT TO RAIN.
Jasmine says, OKAY, HERE GOES. ONE, TWO, AND—
(Gasping)
The wind blows Jasmine’s sheet music away.
Jasmine and Jambo cry, OH!
(Soft plinking music playing)
Jasmine runs after the paper.
(Horn blaring)
Jambo turns into a ball and rolls after it. He turns into a train engine. Jambo turns into a hot air balloon with Jasmine riding in the basket. They chase the paper into the clouds.
Jambo is now a submarine with Jasmine inside and they follow the paper underwater.
The paper lands near the black cat and it picks it up in its mouth, just as Jasmine dives for it.
(Yelping)
She snatches the paper away, tearing it.
(Grumbling)
(Jambo gasping)
Tears fill Jasmine’s eye.
(Whimpering)
Jasmine stands holding her saxophone, with only a scrap of paper on the music stand.
(Thunder rumbling)
Lightning flashes and it begins to rain.
(Thunder crashing)
The audience hurries away.
(Meowing)
Musical notes shelter under a leaf.
Notes singing, LA-LA!
(Soft music playing)
Jambo stands over Jasmine. He is shaped like an umbrella.
The rain stops and the audience is back, but Jasmine’s banner has fallen.
(Wheel squeaking)
Jasmine says, THIS ISN'T HOW IT WAS IN MY DREAM.
Jambo says, I CAN IMAGINE. BUT ANYWAY, WHEN DOES THE CONCERT START?
Jasmine asks, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Jambo says, YOU HAVE A SAXOPHONE AND YOU HAVE AN AUDIENCE. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED?
Jasmine cries, THE SONG! BUT ALL THAT I'VE GOT HERE ARE THESE FOUR NOTES.
Jambo says, THERE ARE ONLY FOUR NOTES HERE, BUT THERE ARE LOTS MORE IN HERE.
Jambo taps his head.
Jambo says, WHEN I USED TO PLAY IN THE JAZZ CLUBS OF NEW ORLEANS... IF WE HAD A COUPLE OF BARS, WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED TO PLAY ALL NIGHT LONG.
The clouds part and the sun shines. Jasmine smiles and snaps her fingers.
(Snapping)
Jambo turns into an upright bass.
(Bass music playing)
Jambo says, THE REST, WE IMPROVISED.
Jasmine plays the saxophone.
(Jazz music playing)
Jambo singing, IT CAN'T BE CLAIMED, IT CAN'T BE TAMED, THOUGHTS IN YOUR BRAIN, WON'T FLY AWAY COME FROM A FEELING YOU CAN'T NAME OR FROM A DREAM YOU DREAMED ONE DAY. DON'T ASK ME FOR AN EXPLANATION, SOMETIMES SOMETHING JUST SOUNDS RIGHT. IN A BLAST OF INSPIRATION SUDDENLY THE NOTES TAKE FLIGHT, THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, IT'S SO UNIQUE, THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, SOUNDS GOOD TO ME.
(Jazz music playing)
Musical notes flow and slide over sheet music. Jasmine closes her eye and plays. Jambo plays a larger saxophone.
Jambo singing, THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, IT'S SO UNIQUE, THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, IT'S BLOWING FREE. THE MUSIC BLOWING IN THE WIND, WHAT COULD IT BE?
(Cheering, meowing)
The audience jumps up and down.
Notes singing, LA-LA, LA-LA!
(Cheering, meowing)
Jambo and Jasmine bow as the audience throws flowers.
(Soft music playing)
Jasmine says, JAMBO... THAT WASN'T HOW I DREAMED IT. BUT IN THE END, IT WAS, UH--
Jambo says, A DREAM COME TRUE.
Jasmine says, THE CONCERT OF MY DREAMS!
