Emily Agard holds balloons as she walks down an
alleyway.
Emily says: “EVERYONE LOVES A PARTY,
AND THIS BASH
COMES WITH A TWIST:
TWO KIDS WHO HAVE NEVER MET.
ONE IS A PARTY HOST,
THIS IS THEIR CELEBRATION”
A curly-haired girl blows a party favour.
Emily says, “THE OTHER WILL GET A BRAND-NEW
EXPERIENCE AS THEIR GUEST.”
A family cheers, “HOLA!”
Emily says, “SURPRISES AND CHALLENGES
AWAIT THEM BOTH.”
Kids jump in the air as balloons fall from a ceiling.
Emily says, “AND YOU'RE INVITED!”
Kids cheer, “IT'S MY PARTY!”
Emily says, “HI, EVERYONE. I'M EMILY
AND WELCOME TO PARTY HQ
WHERE WE GET THE FUN STARTED.
TODAY, I'M MATCHING UP
TWO AWESOME KIDS
WHO HAVE NEVER MET
AND SENDING THEM OFF
TO ONE SUPER SUMMER CELEBRATION.
FIRST, LET'S MEET
OUR PARTY HOST ANNA.
THREE THINGS ABOUT HER:
SHE LOVES SINGING,
FLEXIBILITY IS HER SUPERPOWER,
AND SHE'S A FAN
OF ROLLERCOASTERS.
THE HIGHER, THE BETTER.”
Lights flash in Party HQ. Colourful balloons fill a
clear tube.
Emily says, “COME THROUGH THE DOOR, ANNA!
Anna enters Party HQ.
Emily says, “HEY!”
Anna replies “HI!”
Emily asks, “CAN YOU SHOW ME THE LIMITS
OF YOUR FLEXIBILITY?”
Anna answers, “SURE.”
Anna lifts her leg over her head.
Emily exclaims, “WHAT?! IT REALLY IS
YOUR SUPERPOWER. THAT WAS
AWESOME!”
Anna says, “THANKS.”
Emily asks, “CAN YOU GIVE US SOME HINTS
TO WHAT YOUR PARTY IS ALL ABOUT?”
Anna says, “SURE. IT'S GOING TO BE
FILLED WITH COLOURS,
THERE'S GOING TO BE
A LOT OF STRAWBERRIES,
AND THERE'S GOING TO BE
A TON OF FLOWERS.”
Emily says, “OOH, MY PARTY SENSES
ARE TINGLING. THIS IS GONNA BE
SO MUCH FUN. BUT FIRST, ANNA,
ARE YOU READY TO MEET YOUR PARTY
GUEST?”
Anna answers, “YEAH.”
Emily says, “COME WITH ME.
TELL US THREE THINGS
YOU'RE LOOKING FOR
IN YOUR PARTY PLUS ONE.”
Anna replies, “I WANT THEM TO BE FUNNY
AND KIND, AND I'D LIKE
THEM TO BE A DAREDEVIL.”
Emily says, “ALRIGHT! PARTY HQ DATABASE,
YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.
SHOW ANNA HER PERFECT MATCH.”
Photographs of kids appear on a screen. A
dark-haired boy with glasses appears.
Emily gasps.
Emily says, “IT'S AIDEN!
WHAT A GREAT PICK!
THREE THINGS ABOUT HIM:
HE'S THE LIFE OF THE PARTY,
HE LOVES TO DRAW,
AND HE PLAYS THE PIANO.
AIDEN, COME ON IN!”
Aiden enters Party HQ.
Emily says, “HEY!”
Aiden replies. “HI, EMILY!”
Emily says, “ANNA, MEET AIDEN.”
Anna says, “HI!”
Aiden replies, “HI!”
Emily exclaims, “PARTY PIC TIME!”
Emily, Aiden, and Anna pose together for multiple
photographs.
[Camera clicking]
Emily asks, “YOU READY TO FIND OUT
WHAT PARTY YOU'RE HEADED TO?”
Aiden answers, “TOTALLY! THE REASON
WHY I LIKE PARTIES IS I'M ALWAYS HUNGRY
ALL THE TIME, AND PARTIES HAVE A LOT OF
FOOD.”
Emily says, “ANNA, WHEN I SAY GO,
YOU'RE GONNA RUN OVER THERE,
PUSH THAT BUTTON
TO MAKE IT RAIN BALLOONS.
ARE YOU READY?”
Anna says, “YES!”
Emily counts, “THREE,
TWO, ONE, GO!”
Anna rushes to a blue button and pushes it.
The button turns red.
[Gasping in amazement]
Blue, pink, and gold balloons fall from the ceiling
of Party HQ. Aiden reaches for them.
[Fast Techno music]
Emily says, “MAKE SURE YOU LOOK
FOR THE GOLD BALLOONS
'CAUSE YOUR INVITATION
IS INSIDE ONE OF THEM.”
Anna says, “NO, NOTHING IN THERE.”
Aiden says, “THERE'S SO MANY!”
Anna recounts. “POP! POP! POP! POP! POP!”
Aiden and Anna search through blue and purple
balloons. He pops a gold one.
Aiden exclaims, “I THINK THIS IS IT!”
Aiden picks up a piece of paper.
Emily says, “READ IT, WHAT DOES IT SAY?”
Aiden reads, "YOU'RE INVITED TO MIDSUMMER'S
EVE!"
A green and purple graphic reads, “Midsummer’s Eve“
Emily asks, “ANNA, WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED
TO SHARE WITH AIDEN ABOUT YOUR PARTY?”
Anna answers, “I'D LIKE TO SHOW HIM THE FUN
AND TRADITIONAL GAMES WE HAVE.
Emily says, “WELL, THIS PARTY SOUNDS
LIKE IT'S GONNA BE SUPER!
BUT BEFORE YOU GO, YOU'RE GONNA
WANT TO CHECK THIS OUT. PARTY HQ
DATABASE, MORE INFO ON MIDSUMMER'S EVE,
PLEASE.”
A computer says, “MIDSUMMER'S EVE IN SWEDEN

LOVE. PEOPLE IN SWEDEN OFTEN BEGIN
MIDSUMMER'S EVE BY PICKING LEAVES AND FLOWERS

ON THEIR HEADS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SINGING AND
RING DANCING AROUND THE POLE, INCLUDING THE
FUN AND SILLY SMA GRODORNA FROG SONG, AND
ENJOYING TRADITIONAL FOODS, LIKE PICKLED HERRING,
NEW POTATOES AND SOUR CREAM WITH CHIVES.
FRESH STRAWBERRIES ARE A FIXTURE FOR DESSERT.
YUM!”
Emily says, “I CAN'T WAIT TO DANCE
AT MIDSUMMER'S EVE!
BUT BEFORE YOU GO,
I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU.
WAIT 'TIL THEY SEE
WHAT I'VE GOT PLANNED.
A PARTY PHONE FOR YOU.
AND A PARTY PHONE
FOR YOU.”
Anna says, “COOL!”
Emily continues, “I'M GONNA BE CALLING
'CAUSE I DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT
ON ANY OF THE FUN.
HEAD THROUGH THAT DOOR
BECAUSE YOUR MIDSUMMER'S EVE
ADVENTURE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!”
Aiden and Anna say, “BYE, EMILY!”
Emily says, “AND THE COUNTDOWN
FOR THE PARTY BEGINS NOW!”
Aiden says, “MY FAMILY IS SRI LANKAN.
I CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS,
THANKSGIVING, EASTER
AND NEW YEAR'S.”

BECAUSE OUR CULTURES
ARE VERY DIFFERENT.”
Aiden says, “I'VE NEVER BEEN
TO A MIDSUMMER'S EVE PARTY.
IT'S A WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE.”
[Kids Laughing]
Four kids smile widely as they dance. A girl in a blue
dress does a cartwheel. The four kids form a conga line.
A pink and yellow graphic reads, “What is Midsummer’s
Eve?”
A dark-haired boy asks, “THAT'S MUSIC OR SOMETHING?”
MIDSUMMER MUST BE IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER.”
A long-haired boy in a blue shirt says, “NICE! YAY!”
PEOPLE AT THE PARTY, THE MIDSUMMER'S PARTY,
THEY TAKE A GIANT ROPE, PULL DOWN THE SUN,
AND THEN REPLACE IT WITH A NEW SUN…THE
MID SUN.
[Kids laughter]
A pink and green graphic reads, “Favorite thing about
summer”
A boy in an orange shirt says, “IN THE SUMMER, I LIKE
EATING ICE CREAM.
The dark-haired boy adds, “I LIKE ICE CREAM THE
MOST OUT OF EVERYONE HERE.”
The boy in an orange shirt says, “UH, NO, YOU'RE
WRONG”.
The long-haired boy says, “YOU GUYS ARE BOTH
WRONG, IT'S ME!”
The girl in a blue dress says, “THEN IT'S ALL OF US!
Emily plays drums at Party HQ.
Emily says, “PARTY HOST ANNA AND HER SPECIAL
GUEST AIDEN ARE HEADING TO A MIDSUMMER'S
EVE PARTY.”
Blue music notes appear as Emily plays the drums.
Emily laughs, “HAHAHAHA!
ANNA KNOWS ALL ABOUT THE EVENT,
BUT IT'S AIDEN'S FIRST TIME.
THE CELEBRATION STARTS TOMORROW,
AND THERE'S STILL LOTS TO DO:
A PARTY CHALLENGE,
SURPRISE AND PREP
THAT THESE TWO NEW FRIENDS
WILL HAVE TO COMPLETE
BEFORE THE BIG DAY.”
A yellow and green graphic reads, “Party challenge”
Emily says, “CALL ANNA'S PARTY PHONE.”
[Party phone ringing]
A map of a farm covers a billboard.
Emily says, “HI, ANNA AND AIDEN.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE
MIDSUMMER FUN TO BEGIN?”
Aiden says, “CAN'T WAIT!”
Anna adds, “TOTALLY READY!”
Emily says, “ALRIGHT! WELL, YOUR PARTY
CHALLENGE WILL TAKE YOU
ON A BIT OF A HUNT
AT ANDREW'S SCENIC ACRES.”
Aiden asks, “LIKE A SCAVENGER HUNT?”
Emily replies, “YOU BET! AND IT'S
ALL ABOUT NATURE.”
Anna boasts, “I'M GREAT AT THOSE.”
Emily says, “OK, GOOD LUCK!
I'LL CHECK IN LATER. BYE!”
Anna and Aiden say together, “BYE!”
Colourful flowers grow at Andrews Scenic Acres.
Anna and Aiden approach a blonde-haired woman
in a red dress.
Anna’s mom says, “HI, GUYS! HI, AIDEN! HI, ANNA!”
Anna says, “HI, MOM!”
Anna’s mom continues, “I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU.
I HAVE PUT TOGETHER A SCAVENGER HUNT
FOR YOU GUYS.”
Aiden says, “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!”
Anna’s mom says, “YOU'RE GOING TO GO OUT AND FIND
SEVEN DIFFERENT FLOWERS.”
Anna says, “BRING IT ON!”
Anna’s mom goes on, “YOU'RE ALSO GOING TO SEARCH
FOR A FROG. IF YOU CANNOT FIND A FROG, YOU HAVE
TO LEARN THE DANCE SMA GRODORNA.”
Anna adds, “SMA GRODORNA IS A RING DANCE
WE DO AROUND THE MIDSUMMER POLE”
Aiden says, “THE ONLY THING I'M NERVOUS ABOUT
IS THE DANCING BECAUSE I'M NOT REALLY A GOOD
DANCER.”
Anna’s mom says, “AND OFF YOU GO! HAVE FUN, GUYS!
BYE!”
Aiden responds, “BYE!”
Anna says, “LET'S DO THIS!”
Aiden adds, “READY, SET, GO!”
[Air horn]
Aiden leads Anna down a path.
Anna says, “LOOK. A WILDFLOWER.”
Aiden says, “LET'S GET ONE.”
Anna says, “CHECK! WE DID NATURE
SCAVENGER HUNT.”
Aiden and Anna continue down the path.
Anna says, “AROUND MIDSUMMER, NATURE
HAS A SPECIAL POWER,
AND IT'S VERY MAGICAL.”
Aiden says, “LOOK, ANOTHER WILDFLOWER!”
Anna checks a box on a scavenger hunt list.
Anna says, “THERE'S SO MANY FOLKTALES
ABOUT MIDSUMMER'S EVE. MY MOM TOLD ME
IF YOU COLLECT THE SEVEN FLOWERS AND PUT
THEM UNDER YOUR PILLOW, YOU WOULD DREAM
ABOUT YOUR FUTURE.”
Aiden says, “I THINK THAT'S REALLY COOL.
I'M GONNA DO THAT. ANOTHER ONE!”
Anna picks up a tall purple and white flower.
Aiden exclaims, “YEAH!”
Aiden checks another box on the list.
Anna says, “CHECK! THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL.”
Anna picks a red flower.
Aiden says, “YES.”
Anna adds, “HERE WE GO.
CHECK! CHECK!”
[Anna and Aiden laugh]
Anna and Aiden run back down the path. They collect more flowers. Anna hands red and purple flowers to Aiden. They check more boxes.
Aiden says, “ANNA BLEW A DANDELION
IN MY FACE. IT JUST WENT ALL OVER ME.
IT WAS IN MY HAIR.”
Anna and Aiden stop at a flower.
Anna says, “THIS ONE'S PINK. SNIP!
THAT WAS THE LAST ONE.
THE SCAVENGER HUNT WAS EASY
BECAUSE ME AND AIDEN
MAKE A GREAT TEAM.”
Anna asks, “WHERE'S THAT FROG?”
Anna and Aiden search through bushes.
Aiden says, “NO SIGHTINGS OF A FROG SO FAR.”
Anna and Aiden continue to search.
Aiden says to Anna, “WE HAVEN'T FOUND A FROG YET.”
Anna replies, “DON'T WORRY, I'LL TEACH YOU THE
SMA GRODORNA DANCE.”
Aiden says, “OK.”
Anna instructs, “START IN A CIRCLE AND WALK AROUND
FOR A FEW COUNTS.”
Aiden says, “WE HAD TO PUT OUR HANDS OVER
OUR HEADS. WE HAD TO JUMP AROUND
LIKE A FROG.”
Anna sticks her thumbs in her ears and waves her hands
over her face.
[Croaking sound]
Aidan leaps like a frog.
Aiden says, “IT WAS REALLY WEIRD.”
Aiden and Anna hop in a circle holding their hands to their
ears.
Aiden exclaims, “WOOHOO!”
Anna says, “SCAVENGER HUNT
COMPLETE.”
Aiden and Anna do a secret handshake. They dance
in a clearing on the farm. Anna does the floss dance.
Aiden joins in.
[Energetic music]
Anna says, “AIDEN DID A GREAT JOB ON THE
FROG DANCE BECAUSE HE MADE IT
REALLY FUNNY BY ADDING
HIS OWN TOUCH TO IT,
AND IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY.”
Aiden waves his arms wildly as he dances.
Aiden says, “I'M EXCITED
TO GO TO THE PARTY
WITH ANNA TOMORROW
BECAUSE SHE'S
A REALLY GOOD DANCER.”
Anna and Aiden dance together near a bush.
[Party phone ringing]
Emily asks, “ANNA, AIDEN, DID YOU FIND
ALL THE FLOWERS YOU
WERE LOOKING FOR?
Aiden answers, “IT WAS FUN!”
Anna adds, “THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!”
Emily says, “OK. UP NEXT, AIDEN, YOU'LL BE
STIRRING UP SOMETHING SWEET.
AND, ANNA, YOUR PREP IS
A LITTLE BIT OF A TALL ORDER.”
Aiden replies, “THANKS, EMILY!”
Anna says, “SEE YOU SOON!”
In unison, Anna and Aiden say, “BYE!”
(Kids laughing)
The four kids hold onto each another shoulders as they dance
in a line. They do the floss dance.
The kids shout, “WHAT IS SMA GRODORNA?”
The dark-haired girl says, “ THINK IT'S A TYPE OF STORE
THAT WOULD SELL CARS.”
The dark-haired boy say, “MAYBE IT'S LIKE
A TYPE OF ROAD.”
A girl in a pink shirt agrees, “WE THINK IT'S A ROAD.”
A boy in an orange shirt says, “NOW, WE'LL
CROSS THE LINE.”
The girl in a pink shirt says, “A NAME? A DANCE?”
The dark-haired girl counters, “NO, A NAME IS PART
OF A…”
The boy in an orange shirt says, “I THINK IT'S A DANCE.
The other kids exclaim, “OHHHH!”
[Kids laughing]

AND HER SPECIAL GUEST AIDEN
ARE GETTING PREPARED
FOR MIDSUMMER'S EVE.

BEGIN, THEY STILL HAVE
A FEW MORE FUN THINGS
TO COMPLETE.
ANNA IS HELPING TO PREP
A SPECIAL STRUCTURE,
AND AIDEN IS MAKING
A SWEET TREAT
I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY.”

Emily says, “CALL AIDEN'S PARTY PHONE.”
[Party phone rings]
A billboard at a farm reads, “Strawberry, peak season June-July”.
A tractor pulls a trailer down a dirt path.
Aiden answers, “HEY, EMILY!”

FOR THINGS TO GET SWEET?”
Aiden replies, “I LOVE MAKING SWEET TREATS!
WELL, THEN THIS PARTY SURPRISE
IS FOR YOU, MY FRIEND.
STRAWBERRIES ARE
A BIG PART OF ANY
MIDSUMMER'S EVE PARTY
AND YOU'LL BE STICKING
AROUND ANDREW'S SCENIC ACRES
TO VISIT THE STRAWBERRY FARM.”
Aiden exclaims, “SOUNDS DELICIOUS!”
Emily says, “ GOOD LUCK!”
Aiden says, “BYE!”
A woman in a pink shirt says, “HI, AIDEN
I'M AGNETA. I'M A FAMILY FRIEND OF ANNA'S.
Aiden says, “NICE TO MEET YOU.”
Agneta says, “IN SWEDEN, WE HAVE VERY
LONG WINTERS, AND THE BEST WAY TO CELEBRATE
MIDSUMMER IS WITH STRAWBERRIES.”
Aiden says, “I DON'T LIKE STRAWBERRIES,
I LOVE THEM! YUMMY!”
Agneta continues, “TODAY, I HAVE A CHALLENGE
FOR YOU. YOU ARE GONNA GO
AND COLLECT STRAWBERRIES.
ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?”
Aiden replies, “I WAS BORN READY!”
Agneta shouts, “GO!”
Aiden says, “COLLECTING THE STRAWBERRIES IS
KIND OF DIFFICULT
BECAUSE LAST TIME I DID
WAS TWO YEARS AGO.”
Aiden takes a hayride through the strawberry farm. He runs
through a field carrying a neon green bucket. Aiden picks
strawberries. Aiden fills the bucket with bright red strawberries.

BUT IT'S GONNA BE DELICIOUS!”
Agneta says, “STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE IS
A TRADITIONAL SWEDISH DESSERT.”
Aiden says, “I'M MAKING
STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE!
FIRST, I WHIP THE CREAM
'TIL IT'S FLUFFY.
THEN, I GRAB THE SPONGE CAKE
AND SPREAD SOME STRAWBERRY JAM
OVER IT. I PUT
THE WHIPPED CREAM
OVER THE JAM, AND THEN I PUT
ANOTHER LAYER OF SPONGE CAKE.
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!”
Agneta agrees, “YEAH, RIGHT?”
Aiden asks, “WHAT ARE SOME OF THE OTHER
TRADITIONAL FOODS FROM SWEDEN?”
Agneta answers, “HERRING, WHICH IS FISH,
POTATOES WITH DILL, SWEDISH MEATBALLS”

I'M NOT SO SURE
ABOUT THE PICKLED HERRING.
I MIGHT TRY IT.”
Agneta says, “CRAZY HOW MUCH
CREAM THIS IS, HUH?”
Aiden agrees, “YEAH.’
Agneta continues, “BUT IT IS A PARTY,
SO THERE SHOULD BE PLENTY.
THE NEXT STEP
IS TO DECORATE IT
WITH STRAWBERRIES.”
Aiden says, “I NEVER MADE
A CAKE BEFORE.”
Agneta says, “REALLY?!
YOU'RE A PRO AT THIS!
THIS IS FANTASTIC!”
Aiden says, “THANK YOU.
THE FINAL TOUCH:
SWEDISH FLAGS.
AND WE'RE DONE!
I THINK ANNA WILL LIKE

THE CENTREPIECE OF THE PARTY?”
Anna answers, “YOU'VE GOT IT.”
Emily says, “GREAT! BECAUSE YOU ARE
GONNA BE DECORATING
THE MIDSUMMER POLE
THAT EVERYONE'S GONNA BE
DANCING AROUND AT THE PARTY.”
Anna says, “SOUNDS GREAT, EMILY. THANKS.”
[Rock music]
Colourful flowers fill the park. Tall trees shade a
paved pathway.
A dark-haired woman hugs Anna.
She says, “ANNA!”
Anna says, “I AM DECORATING
THE MIDSUMMER'S POLE
WITH EMILY NUMBER TWO.”
Emilie asks, “DO YOU KNOW WHY WE HAVE
A MIDSUMMER'S POLE?
Anna responds, “TO DANCE AND SING
AROUND IT?”
Emilie says, “YOU GOT IT!
THEY HAD THIS CELEBRATION
RIGHT AS THE SUMMER STARTS,
TO CELEBRATE THE NEW LIGHT,
THE NEW LIFE,

TO KNOW EACH OTHER,
HAVE A GOOD TIME,
DANCE AROUND THE POLE.”

TO SING, AND WHEN WE'RE
DOING THE ACTIONS,
IT'S SO FUNNY TO WATCH.”

TO DO THIS?”
Anna answers, “YES.
WE WOULD DECORATE IT
FIRST WITH THE GREEN LEAVES.”
Emilie asks, “DID YOU KNOW
THAT I PICKED
ALL THESE BRANCHES IN
MY GARDEN TODAY, FROM MY TREE?”
Anna exclaims, “THAT'S SO COOL!”
Emilie says, “YOU SEE, IN SWEDEN,
THEY HAVE THIS RULE CALLED
ALLEMANSRATTEN,
WHICH MEANS
THE RIGHT TO ALL THE LAND
FOR EVERYONE.
SO, PEOPLE CAN PICK FLOWERS,
MUSHROOMS, BRANCHES,
WHATEVER THEY WANT.
EVERYONE HAS
A RIGHT TO IT.”
Anna says, “THAT'S SO AWESOME!”
Emilie asks, “WHAT'S THE SAYING
THAT WE SAY EVERY YEAR
TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
ON MIDSUMMER'S EVE?”
Anna answers, “GLAD MIDSOMMAR.”
Emilie continues, “AH! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?”
Anna replies, “HAPPY MIDSUMMER!”
Emilie says, “SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT THING
TO SAY ON THAT DAY.”
Anna says, “MY SPECIAL FRIEND AIDEN
IS COMING,
AND I'M TEACHING HIM
ALL THE MIDSUMMER.”

HIS FIRST TIME?”

THE SMA GRODORNA DANCE.
Emilie asks, “THE ONE ABOUT
THE FROGS?”
Anna answers, “YEP.”
Emilie adds, “THAT ONE IS SO FUNNY.”
Anna says, “IT REALLY IS.”
Emilie says, “TIME FOR SOME FLOWERS,
I THINK.”
Anna adds, “YEP, AND THEN, WE ATTACH
ALL THE FLOWERS
AND WEAVE THEM IN.
THEN, WE MAKE THE WREATHS.
I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!
LET'S RACE TO SEE
WHO GETS THE FLOWERS ON FIRST.”
Emilie says, “OK, ANNA, HERE WE GO.”
Anna and Emilie weave colourful flowers into a
lush, green wreath. Anna adds a large orange
flower to her wreath.
Emilie says, “OH NO! I THINK
YOU'RE GONNA BEAT ME!”
Anna and Emilie continue to weave flowers into their
wreaths. Anna finishes and holds up her colourful wreath.
Anna says, “DONE!”
Emilie replies, “YOU WERE SO QUICK!
YOU'RE DEFINITELY A PRO.”
Anna says, “THE WEAVING RACE
WITH EMILIE WAS FUN
'CAUSE I'M VERY COMPETITIVE.”
Emilie says, “NOW, WE GRAB
SOME SWEDISH RIBBON. YOU GOT IT.
THEY ACTUALLY HAD
THIS MIDSUMMER'S POLE
IN MANY PLACES IN EUROPE,
BUT THEN SWEDEN
WANTED TO MAKE IT
UNIQUE TO THEMSELVES,
AND THEY LOVE THEIR COUNTRY,
SO THAT'S WHY THEY DRESS IT
WITH ALL THE YELLOW
AND BLUE SWEDISH COLOURS.
PERFECT! CAN YOU GUESS
WHAT THE FINISHING TOUCH IS?”
Anna answers, “THE FLAG.”
Emilie says, “SWEDEN FLAG.
YOU CAN DO
THE HONOURS.
I THINK THAT LOOKS
AMAZING! GOOD JOB!”
Anna replies, “THANKS.”
Emilie states, “I THINK YOU AND AIDEN WILL
HAVE A SUPER FUN TIME TOMORROW.
GOOD WORK, ANNA!”

Anna says, “WELCOME TO MY MIDSUMMER'S PARTY.”
Aiden replies, “THANKS! I MADE YOU
THIS STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE.”

WHEN AIDEN CAME WITH
THE STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE,
I WAS SO SURPRISED
THAT HE ACTUALLY MADE THAT.
AND I WAS LIKE,
"HMM, DID HE BUY THAT?"

Anna adds, “OH YEAH!”
Emily says, “YAY!”
Emily and other party guests toss bean bags toward a hole.
Aiden gets one in.
[Kids cheering]
Emily says, “OH, THERE YOU GO!
HIGH-FIVE!”
Anna’s mother says, “NEXT GAME WE'RE GOING
TO PLAY IS CALLED THE SPITTING OF THE FROG.”
Aiden says, “I NEVER PLAYED A FROG
SPITTING GAME BEFORE.”
Party guests compete as they spit toy frogs across the grass.
Aiden spits a frog.
Emily says, “I'M NERVOUS. I'M SCARED.”
Anna replies, “YOU GOT THIS!”
A party guest adds, ”YOU'RE GONNA GET THIS OUT.”
Anna says, “THE SPITTING FROG,
I TRIED SO HARD.
I DIDN'T GET IT

FOR ONE THING.
I HAVE TO GO FOR EVERYTHING.”

I DON'T WANT TO COME
BACK HOME WITH FISH BREATH.”
Aiden says, “ANNA IS GOING RIGHT FOR IT.”
Emily gasps.
Anna says, “IT'S GOOD.”
Emily asks, “IT'S GOOD?”

Emily says, “ANNA, WHEN I SAY GO,
YOU'RE GONNA RUN OVER THERE,
PUSH THAT BUTTON
TO MAKE IT RAIN BALLOONS.

BUT IT'S AIDEN'S FIRST TIME.
THE CELEBRATION STARTS TOMORROW,
AND THERE'S STILL LOTS TO DO:
A PARTY CHALLENGE,
SURPRISE AND PREP
THAT THESE TWO NEW FRIENDS

Anna adds, “TOTALLY READY!”
Emily says, “ALRIGHT! WELL, YOUR PARTY
CHALLENGE WILL TAKE YOU
ON A BIT OF A HUNT
AT ANDREW'S SCENIC ACRES.”
Aiden asks, “LIKE A SCAVENGER HUNT?”
Emily replies, “YOU BET! AND IT'S

IS THE DANCING BECAUSE I'M NOT REALLY A GOOD
DANCER.”

BYE!”
Aiden responds, “BYE!”
Anna says, “LET'S DO THIS!”
Aiden adds, “READY, SET, GO!”

Aiden says, “LET'S GET ONE.”
Anna says, “CHECK! WE DID NATURE

Aiden and Anna continue down the path.
Anna says, “AROUND MIDSUMMER, NATURE
HAS A SPECIAL POWER,
AND IT'S VERY MAGICAL.”
Aiden says, “LOOK, ANOTHER WILDFLOWER!”
Anna checks a box on a scavenger hunt list.
Anna says, “THERE'S SO MANY FOLKTALES
ABOUT MIDSUMMER'S EVE. MY MOM TOLD ME
IF YOU COLLECT THE SEVEN FLOWERS AND PUT
THEM UNDER YOUR PILLOW, YOU WOULD DREAM
ABOUT YOUR FUTURE.”
Aiden says, “I THINK THAT'S REALLY COOL.
I'M GONNA DO THAT. ANOTHER ONE!”
Anna picks up a tall purple and white flower.
Aiden exclaims, “YEAH!”
Aiden checks another box on the list.
Anna says, “CHECK! THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL.”

LIKE A FROG.”

over her face.

in a clearing on the farm. Anna does the floss dance.
Aiden joins in.
[Energetic music]
Anna says, “AIDEN DID A GREAT JOB ON THE
FROG DANCE BECAUSE HE MADE IT
REALLY FUNNY BY ADDING
HIS OWN TOUCH TO IT,
AND IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY.”
Aiden waves his arms wildly as he dances.
Aiden says, “I'M EXCITED
TO GO TO THE PARTY
WITH ANNA TOMORROW
BECAUSE SHE'S
A REALLY GOOD DANCER.”
Anna and Aiden dance together near a bush.
[Party phone ringing]
Emily asks, “ANNA, AIDEN, DID YOU FIND
ALL THE FLOWERS YOU
WERE LOOKING FOR?
Aiden answers, “IT WAS FUN!”
Anna adds, “THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL!”
Emily says, “OK. UP NEXT, AIDEN, YOU'LL BE
STIRRING UP SOMETHING SWEET.

OF A…”

AND COLLECT STRAWBERRIES.
ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?”
Aiden replies, “I WAS BORN READY!”

Aiden says, “I'M MAKING
STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE!
FIRST, I WHIP THE CREAM
'TIL IT'S FLUFFY.
THEN, I GRAB THE SPONGE CAKE
AND SPREAD SOME STRAWBERRY JAM
OVER IT. I PUT
THE WHIPPED CREAM
OVER THE JAM, AND THEN I PUT
ANOTHER LAYER OF SPONGE CAKE.
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!”

GONNA BE DECORATING
THE MIDSUMMER POLE
THAT EVERYONE'S GONNA BE
DANCING AROUND AT THE PARTY.”

A dark-haired woman hugs Anna.
She says, “ANNA!”
Anna says, “I AM DECORATING
THE MIDSUMMER'S POLE
WITH EMILY NUMBER TWO.”
Emilie asks, “DO YOU KNOW WHY WE HAVE
A MIDSUMMER'S POLE?
Anna responds, “TO DANCE AND SING
AROUND IT?”
Emilie says, “YOU GOT IT!
THEY HAD THIS CELEBRATION
RIGHT AS THE SUMMER STARTS,
TO CELEBRATE THE NEW LIGHT,

DANCE AROUND THE POLE.”

TO DO THIS?”

WE WOULD DECORATE IT
FIRST WITH THE GREEN LEAVES.”
Emilie asks, “DID YOU KNOW
THAT I PICKED
ALL THESE BRANCHES IN
MY GARDEN TODAY, FROM MY TREE?”
Anna exclaims, “THAT'S SO COOL!”
Emilie says, “YOU SEE, IN SWEDEN,
THEY HAVE THIS RULE CALLED
ALLEMANSRATTEN,
WHICH MEANS
THE RIGHT TO ALL THE LAND
FOR EVERYONE.
SO, PEOPLE CAN PICK FLOWERS,
MUSHROOMS, BRANCHES,
WHATEVER THEY WANT.
EVERYONE HAS
A RIGHT TO IT.”
Anna says, “THAT'S SO AWESOME!”
Emilie asks, “WHAT'S THE SAYING
THAT WE SAY EVERY YEAR
TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS
ON MIDSUMMER'S EVE?”
Anna answers, “GLAD MIDSOMMAR.”
Emilie continues, “AH! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?”

TO SAY ON THAT DAY.”

THE FROGS?”

Emilie adds, “THAT ONE IS SO FUNNY.”
Anna says, “IT REALLY IS.”
Emilie says, “TIME FOR SOME FLOWERS,
I THINK.”
Anna adds, “YEP, AND THEN, WE ATTACH
ALL THE FLOWERS
AND WEAVE THEM IN.
THEN, WE MAKE THE WREATHS.
I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!
LET'S RACE TO SEE
WHO GETS THE FLOWERS ON FIRST.”
Emilie says, “OK, ANNA, HERE WE GO.”
Anna and Emilie weave colourful flowers into a
lush, green wreath. Anna adds a large orange
flower to her wreath.
Emilie says, “OH NO! I THINK
YOU'RE GONNA BEAT ME!”
Anna and Emilie continue to weave flowers into their
wreaths. Anna finishes and holds up her colourful wreath.
Anna says, “DONE!”
Emilie replies, “YOU WERE SO QUICK!
YOU'RE DEFINITELY A PRO.”
Anna says, “THE WEAVING RACE
WITH EMILIE WAS FUN
'CAUSE I'M VERY COMPETITIVE.”
Emilie says, “NOW, WE GRAB
SOME SWEDISH RIBBON. YOU GOT IT.
THEY ACTUALLY HAD
THIS MIDSUMMER'S POLE
IN MANY PLACES IN EUROPE,
BUT THEN SWEDEN
WANTED TO MAKE IT
UNIQUE TO THEMSELVES,
AND THEY LOVE THEIR COUNTRY,
SO THAT'S WHY THEY DRESS IT
WITH ALL THE YELLOW
AND BLUE SWEDISH COLOURS.
PERFECT! CAN YOU GUESS
WHAT THE FINISHING TOUCH IS?”
Anna answers, “THE FLAG.”
Emilie says, “SWEDEN FLAG.
YOU CAN DO
THE HONOURS.
I THINK THAT LOOKS
AMAZING! GOOD JOB!”
Anna replies, “THANKS.”

HAVE A SUPER FUN TIME TOMORROW.
GOOD WORK, ANNA!”

Anna says, “WELCOME TO MY MIDSUMMER'S PARTY.”
Aiden replies, “THANKS! I MADE YOU
THIS STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE.”
Anna says, “IT'S MY FAVOURITE!
WHEN AIDEN CAME WITH
THE STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE,
I WAS SO SURPRISED
THAT HE ACTUALLY MADE THAT.
AND I WAS LIKE,
"HMM, DID HE BUY THAT?"
Party guests arrive.
Anna’s mom says, “HI, GIRLS.”
Anna says, “HI, MARIA.”

AND FAMILY. AND IT'S
KIND OF LIKE A COMPETITION.”
Aiden adds, “I HAD LOTS OF FUN HANGING OUT
WITH ANNA AND HER FAMILY.”
[Cheering]
Aiden holds a stick between his legs as he races a
blonde-haired girl.
Emily says, “I'M SO EXCITED FOR
