Transcript: Space Experiments - Moon Craters
(Upbeat theme music plays)
Text in multicoloured paint splatter
reads, “Create”
(Digital sound effect)
A rocket ship floats past stars. Behind it,
text reads, “Space Experiments”.
Text reads, “Moon craters” followed
by “You will need”.
Text reads, “A Tray”, “Flour”, “Cocoa”, “Marbles”,
and “A Spoon”.
Flour is poured out of a glass bowl, and onto
the tray.
Text reads, “The surface of the moon is covered
in a very fine powder of rock dust…”
The tray is shaken. The flour spreads out across
the whole tray.
The text continues, “…similar to the consistency of
flour and cocoa”
The Cocoa is dusted onto the flour in the tray.
A green marble is dropped onto the tray.
Text reads, “Dropping marbles produces a similar
strike pattern to meteorites hitting the moon.”
More marbles are dropped onto the tray. Flour
and cocoa flies up into the air.
Marbles continue to fall on the tray. They create
indentations in the flour and cocoa.
The marbles are picked one by one, out of the tray.
Text reads, “Neil Armstrong was the first man to
walk on the moon on July 20, 1969”.
Deep holes are left in the cocoa and flour.
(Spaceship landing)
A spaceship lowers onto the surface of the
cocoa and flour mixture. It lands. An astronaut
walks across the tray.
