8 year old Ella, who has curly black hair, runs down a staircase with a toy rocket ship. She wears a teal space suit, and a helmet with animal ears.
[Giggling]
Ella runs into a living room and gives her little sister the rocket ship.
[Upbeat music plays]
A singer sings, COME WITH ME, TO THE STARS.
Ella’s mom picks up Ella’s little sister and smiles as Ella runs outside. Outside the house, in outer space, Ella runs past her dad.
The singer sings, THE GALAXY IS OURS!
Ella waves to her dad.
She says, BYE DAD!
Ella jumps onto a circular spacecraft, and takes off.
People say, LET'S GO!
The singer sings, LOOK AT ALL THE WONDER.
INTER-STELLAR.
Ella flies over a planet with a blue and green alien, and a boy with black hair who flies a red spacecraft.
The signer sings, LOOK UP SO MUCH SPLENDOUR.
INTER-STELLAR.
Ella flies on the blue and green alien.
The singer sings, LOOK OUT FOR ADVENTURE.
Ella and the black haired boy explore a planet together with a blue star. Elsewhere in space, the black haired boy and the alien look startled.
They say, WOAH!
They dodge Ella and her moon scooter.
The singer sings, COME EXPLORE THE MILKY WAY!
Ella and her family sit on a spacecraft.
The singer sings, LOOK UP!
INTERSTELLAR ELLA.
Ella, her family, and her friends admire a giant colourful cloud together.
TVOKids Presents, Interstellar Ella.
[Cheerful music plays]
Ella looks determined as she flies through space on her spacecraft, pulling an old satellite dish. She flies toward a large asteroid, where the black haired boy stands beside the blue and green alien. The boy wears a blue and red spacesuit.
The black haired boy says, HERE COMES ELLA!
Ella counts, THREE, TWO, ONE…
She launches the satellite dish off her spacecraft.
She says, INCOMING!
The alien stretches their elastic-like arms toward the satellite dish.
[Groaning]
The alien grabs the satellite dish.
[Grunting]
The alien pulls the satellite dish down and hugs it.
The alien says, WELCOME, NEW FRIEND.
The satellite dish slips out of the alien’s arms.
The alien says, OOPS.
The satellite dish floats away. The alien frowns, then smiles.
The alien says, GOODBYE, NEW FRIEND!
They wave. The black haired boy runs past the alien with a grappling hook on a cable. He throws the hook toward the satellite dish.
[Grunting]
The grappling hook hooks onto the satellite dish and the black haired boy smiles. He holds onto the hook’s cable, but is then pulled off the asteroid as the satellite dish floats further away.
The black haired boy yells, WHOA!
He looks back toward the asteroid.
He yells, MADHU!
Madhu, the green and blue alien, stretches their arms out to the boy and grabs him. Madhu pulls the boy and the satellite dish back down to the asteroid. Madhu and the boy smile.
Ella cheers, YAY! WAY TO TEAMWORK!
On the asteroid, she runs over to Madhu and the black haired boy.
The black haired boy says, YEAH!
Madhu says, GREAT JOB.
Ella high-fives her friends.
The black haired boy says, OH, THAT WAS MORE THAN TEAMWORK.
THAT WAS…
He pulls out a toy made of screws and wires.
He continues, …LUCK!
Ella says, MOONCAKE, HI!
YOU REALLY THINK HE HELPED
SAVE THE DISH?
The black haired boy says, OF COURSE.
HE'S THE LUCKIEST
GOOD LUCK CHARM EVER.
The black haired boy smiles at Mooncake.
The boy says, HMM.
THINK THIS DISH COULD BE A ROOM
FOR OUR NEW CLUBHOUSE?
Madhu balances the satellite dish on their head with a pole.
[Ella laughing]
Ella says, I THINK WE HAVE OUR ANSWER.
She speaks into her watch.
She says, MAGGIE, WHAT ELSE IS ON
THE BIG IDEAS BOARD?
Maggie, a blue star, floats out from Ella’s watch.
Maggie says, LET'S SEE.
WE'VE GOT YOUR MAP OF THE
CRAB NEBULA…
On a digital board, Maggie shows Ella and the black haired boy planets.
Maggie continues, ….DRAWINGS OF JUPITER'S MOONS,
A SKETCH OF… A HIGHLY ADVANCED
SPACE STATION?
She looks confused. Her board has an upside down picture of a sea animal with a horn. Ella flips the picture.
Maggie says, OH, A NARWHAL IN SPACE!
Another picture shows a clubhouse design.
Maggie says, HERE WE GO. YOUR PLANS FOR A
SUPER FUN AND COZY CLUBHOUSE.
The black haired boy says, WE STILL NEED THREE
ROCKET CONES, TWO ASTRO POLES,
AND A SOFA.
Ella says, A SOFA MIGHT BE TRICKY.
Madhu balances various pieces of metal junk, including the satellite dish, an old solar panel, and rocket cones, using poles.
Madhu says, JUST SAY THE WORD
AND I'LL DROP EVERYTHING!
They let go of the junk.
Ella and the black haired boy yell, NO!
The junk floats around Madhu. Madhu quickly gathers and balances it.
[Madhu giggling]
Ella says, I'M OKAY ON MY OWN.
I JUST NEED MY MOON
SCOOTER AND A LITTLE LUCK.
Maggie says, I AM UNFAMILIAR WITH THIS LUCK
YOU KEEP REFERRING TO.
IS IT
SOME TYPE OF ENERGY SOURCE?
Ella says, SORT OF.
She jumps onto her moon scooter.
[Grunting]
Ella turns her moon scooter to the black haired boy
Ella says, HEY, SLIP.
CAN I BORROW A LUCKY,
LUCKY MOONCAKE?
Slip, the black haired boy, picks up Mooncake. He holds Mooncake close.
Slip says, I DON’T KNOW.
Ella says, PLEASE?
She jumps off her moon scooter and runs up to Slip.
Ella says, PLEASE?
I HEREBY SOLEMNLY SWEAR
TO PROTECT MOONCAKE.
Slip looks unsure.
He says, HMM.
THAT MEANS A LOT.
I TRUST YOU.
He hands Ella Mooncake.
Ella says, WITH MOONCAKE ON OUR SIDE.
THIS WILL BE A BREEZE.
She steps onto her moon scooter and hooks Mooncake to the curved side.
Maggie says, BREEZE?
THAT IS AN EARTH BASED
ATMOSPHERIC MOVEMENT.
ELLA, WE WILL NEVER FIND
A BREEZE IN SPACE.
[Ella laughing]
Maggie flies in the moon scooter with Ella.
Ella says, IT'S JUST A SAYING.
Maggie says, OH, A SAYING?
Slip nervously watches Ella fly away.
[Upbeat music plays]
Ella dodges small asteroids as she flies through space.
She cheers, WOO-HOO!
Ella looks determined.
She says, THERE! LET'S GET IT
MOONCAKE.
Ella stops her moon scooter and leaps onto, and across, asteroids.
[Grunting]
Ella launches her grappler onto a metal cone, then reels it in like a fish.
She cheers, YAY!
Ella flies toward another cone using the thrusters in her boots and collects more rocket cones. Maggie follows her. Ella confidently reels in the grappler with her eyes closed. She opens her eyes and finds no cone. She looks confused as she looks around her. A cone lands on helmet like a hat.
[Ella laughing]
Maggie furrows her brow. Ella collects more metal poles. She pauses her search.
Ella says, WOAH! INTERSTELLAR!
She looks excited as she launches her grappler. Ella struggles to reel in her grappler cable, and is pulled onto a sofa.
[Ella grunting]
Ella says, WE ACTUALLY FOUND A
SOFA IN SPACE.
MOONCAKE,
YOU ARE TRULY THE LUCKIEST
OF GOOD LUCK CHARMS.
Ella has her findings tied to her moon scooter’s cable.
Maggie says, BUT THE FACTOR OF LUCK
STILL DOES NOT COMPUTE.
Ella flies through space with her findings.
Maggie says, IT WAS THE STREAM OF SPACE JUNK
THAT ENABLED US TO COLLECT
THE ROCKET CONES, POLES
SOFA AND....
[Ella gasping]
Ella says, A BLACK HOLE!
She stops her moon scooter.
Maggie says, WE DID NOT COLLECT A BLACK HOLE.
Ella says, NO!
LOOK, A REAL BLACK HOLE!
She hovers at the edge of the thick, bright orange ring around a black hole.
Maggie says, OH. YES.
IT'S QUITE THE SPECIMEN.
Ella says, CLOSER. LOOK.
She flies closer to the black hole.
Maggie says, ELLA.
STOP.
She blocks Ella from flying further, and Ella comes to a sudden stop.
[Ella grunting]
The space junk behind Ella bumps into the moon scooter and knocks Mooncake loose.
Ella asks, WHY?
Mooncake floats past her.
Maggie says, BLACK HOLES
PULL IN ANYTHING NEAR THEM.
ONCE SOMETHING FALLS
IN, IT DISAPPEARS.
EVEN LIGHT DISAPPEARS
IN A BLACK HOLE.
Ella says, INTERSTELLAR.
[Ella laughing]
Ella says, I GUESS THAT'S WHY
THEY CALL IT A BLACK HOLE.
Maggie says, BUT IF YOU STAY FAR ENOUGH
BEHIND THIS LINE…
Her line separates Ella from the ring around the black hole
Maggie says, …YOU ARE SAFE.
Mooncake floats past Maggie toward the ring.
Ella says, MOONCAKE!
HE'S OVER THE LINE.
Mooncake floats toward the black hole.
[Ella gasping]
Ella says, SLIPPY WILL BE SO UPSET.
I HAVE TO GET HIM.
She looks determined as she launches her grappler cable toward Mooncake. The grappler misses Mooncake and is pulled toward the black hole. The cable pulls Ella toward Maggie’s line. Maggie looks worried. Ella’s grappler is pulled out of her hands. The grappler is stretched as it wraps around the black hole and disappears.
Ella says, MAGGIE...
WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
MY SPACE GRAPPLER TURNED
INTO SPAGHETTI.
Maggie says, YES, SPAGHETTI HAPPENED.
THAT'S WHAT BLACK HOLES DO.
THEY HAVE REALLY STRONG GRAVITY.
GRAVITY IS LIKE HANDS
THAT REACH OUT.
AND A BLACK
HOLE'S PULL IS SO STRONG,
IT CAN STRETCH THINGS

Maggie demonstrates how a black hole acts. She sways side to side.
She says, GRAVITY!
SPAGHETTI!
BLACK HOLE.
Ella says, YOU KNOW,
I LOVE YOUR DANCING,
BUT THIS IS NO TIME FOR DANCING.
YOU CALL IT SPAGHETTI.
I CALL IT BAD LUCK.
I NEED TO GET MOONCAKE BACK BEFORE
HE TURNS INTO SPACE NOODLES.
Maggie says, RELAX.
HE WON'T
BE TURNED INTO SPAGHETTI.
Ella smiles hopefully.
Maggie says, YET...
Ella frowns.
Maggie says, YOU STILL
GOT A LITTLE TIME
BEFORE MOONCAKE GETS CLOSE
ENOUGH TO BE PULLED IN.
Ella says, I WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN.
She looks through the different pieces of her space junk.
She says, OH, MOONCAKE.
AND AFTER THE PROMISE
I MADE SLIPPY.
Ella slips onto the sofa. A rocket cone falls onto her helmet.
She groans, AGAIN!
Ella looks worried.
She says, MAYBE I CAN USE THE SOFA
TO KNOCK
MOONCAKE BACK OVER THE LINE.
Ella pushes against the back of the sofa using her thrusters but makes no progress.
[Ella grunting]
Slippy, Slip, appears in a video call in a bubble.
Slippy says, HI, ELLA.
HOW'S IT GOING?
Ella says, UH…
She looks around at the space junk.
She says, UH…NOT GOOD.
I NEED HELP.
On the asteroid, Slippy says, HUH?
WE'RE COMING ELLA.
DROP EVERYTHING.
ELLA NEEDS HELP.
Madhu drops the space junk they are struggling to balance. It floats around them. Madhu smiles. Slippy looks determined. He blows a whistle.
[Quick beeping]
Slippy’s spacecraft lands in front of him. Slippy jumps on, and he and Madhu fly off the asteroid. By the black hole, Ella closes the communication bubble and looks at the black hole, where Mooncake floats along the orange ring. Ella grabs one of the rocket cones. She looks worried. Slippy looks determined as he and Madhu arrive outside the black hole.
Slippy says, WHAT'S HAPPENING?
ARE YOU OKAY?
Maggie stops Slippy from crossing her line.
Maggie says, STAY BEHIND THE LINE, PLEASE.
STAY BEHIND THE LINE.
Slippy says, WOW. A BLACK HOLE!
HUH?
Mooncake floats past Maggie behind the line.
Slippy says, MOONCAKE!
He reaches for Mooncake.
Ella says, HE TOPPLED OVER THE LINE.
IT'S ALL MY FAULT.
She looks sad.
Slippy says, IF HE FALLS IN A BLACK HOLE,
WE'LL BE OUT OF LUCK FOREVER.
OH, MOONCAKE.
[Soft music plays]
In flashbacks, Mooncake is with Madhu, Slippy and Ella while they have fun together.
Slippy cheers, YAY!
Madhu cheers, WOO-HOO!
Outside the black hole, Slippy looks sad.
Ella says, I'M SO SORRY, SLIPPY.
Slippy covers his eyes. Madhu hugs Slippy and Ella.
Ella says, YOU KNOW WHAT?
WE CAN STILL DO THIS.
She looks determined.
Maggie says, IF YOU ARE THINKING OF STAGING
ANOTHER RESCUE ATTEMPT,
I MUST WARN YOU THAT
YOUR CHANCES OF SUCCESS ARE 2%.
VERY UNLUCKY INDEED.
Ella says, LISTEN.
WHO WAS THERE WHEN THAT PILLAR
NEARLY FELL ON US?
Slippy says, MOONCAKE.
Ella says, AAAAAND?
A flashback shows the friends together.
Ella says, MADHU.
AND WHO WAS WITH YOU WHEN YOU
FOUND THAT WE WERE CRYSTAL?
Slippy looks thoughtful.
He says, MOONCAKE.
Ella says, AAAAND....
Slippy says, YOU GUYS.
Ella says, AND WHO CAME STRAIGHT AWAY
WHEN I SAID I NEEDED HELP?
Slippy says, WE DID.
Ella says, AND WHO WAS BUILDING
A SUPER COOL AND COZY CLUBHOUSE
TOGETHER?
Slippy says, ALL OF US!
Ella says, WE HAVE SOMETHING
BETTER THAN LUCK.
WE HAVE EACH OTHER.
TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE MOONCAKE.
AND WE DON'T NEED LUCK FOR THAT
BECAUSE WE'RE FRIENDS.
ARE YOU WITH ME?
Madhu smiles.
Slippy cheers, YES!
He grabs a robot off his spacecraft.
[Upbeat music plays]
Ella and Slippy hold two poles. The robot welds them together. Madhu places the bottoms of two rocket cones together and hands them to Slippy. Slippy holds the cones vertically as the robot connects the cones to the pole. The top cone opens like a lid. Slippy tosses the homemade trap to Ella. A cable hangs from the trap.
[Thumping]
Ella looks determined as she flies up to the line separating her and the ring around the black hole. Slippy’s robot spots Mooncake in the ring.
[Robot squeaking]
The robot points toward Mooncake. Ella flies up to Maggie’s line and throws the trap’s pole. In the black hole’s ring, the rocket cones open, then close over Mooncake’s arm, trapping Mooncake. It flies further into the ring.
[Dramatic music plays]
Tension on the trap’s cable is tight as Ella pulls on it.
[Ella groaning]
Ella is slowly pulled toward the black hole. With a worried look, Madhu grabs onto Ella and helps her pull. Madhu’s arms start to stretch. Slippy grabs Madhu, and the robot grabs Slippy. They pull on the cable together.
[Grunting]
Ella uses her thrusters as her boots nearly each Maggie’s line, separating her and the black hole’s pull. Slippy’s robot activates two thrusters and pulls the group away from the line.
Ella says, WOAH!
The trap holding Mooncake is pulled across the line with the friends.
Slippy says, WOAH!
Ella, Madhu, Slippy and the robot land on the sofa.
[Grunting]
The friends look disappointed. Mooncake lands on Slippy’s lap.
Slippy says, HUH? MOONCAKE!
YOU ARE LUCKY.
On the large asteroid, The three friends relax on the sofa.
Slippy says, THAT BLACK HOLE WAS
ACTUALLY KIND OF COOL.
BUT I LIKE THIS VIEW
FROM OUR BRAND NEW
CLUBHOUSE
EVEN BETTER.
Maggie says, WELL, I'VE RECALCULATED
MOONCAKES LUCK,
AND HE'S LUCKY TO HAVE
SUCH GREAT FRIENDS BEHIND HIM.
Ella says, GOOD ONE, MAGGIE.
I BETTER GET GOING.
IT'S ALMOST DINNERTIME.
IT'S SATURDAY.
THAT MEANS IT'S SPAGHETTI NIGHT.
Her eyes widen.
[The friends laughing]
