A caption reads "TVO Kids and Riverbank pictures original."

Wearing a mask, Akin walks in his room.

Akin is in his early teens, with slightly long braided brown hair and wears jeans and a yellow sweater.

Akin's room is full of colourful furniture, has different colour walls, a black and white checkered floor, pink curtains, and a neon sign that reads "Fellings" behind a couch.

He says OH HEY, IT'S ME AKIN.
THE HOST OF HOW DO YOU FEEL?
I'M SURE YOU'RE FEELING A LOT
THESE DAYS.
WE ALL ARE, AND THAT'S OKAY.
I WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT MY
FRIENDS AND I FILMED THE SHOW
BEFORE THE PANDEMIC, SO EVEN
THOUGH WE'RE NOT WEARING MASKS,
OR PHYSICALLY DISTANCING, IT'S
STILL VERY IMPORTANT.
SO IF YOU'RE IN A SITUATION
WHERE YOU NEED TO
PHYSICALLY DISTANCE, BUT YOU
CAN'T, PUT ON YOUR MASK.
IT'LL HELP KEEP YOU AND YOUR
FRIENDS SAFE.
WHICH FEELS GREAT!
ENJOY THE SHOW!

In animation, the opening of the show rolls.

As the sun comes up between the mountains, colourful letters with different mood facial expressions form the name of the show. It reads "How do you feel?"

A song goes SOME DAYS YOU MIGHT BE HAPPY
AND SOME DAYS YOU MIGHT BE MAD
OTHER DAYS THEY START OFF
RIGHT
BUT THEN YOU WENT UPSET
BUT IT'S OKAY
CUZ WE WANNA KNOW
HOW DO YOU FEEL?
YEAH, HOW DO YOU FEEL?

(music plays)

Lying on his couch, Akin says GUYS, I HAVE A PROBLEM.
I...
AM...
SOOOOO... .
(ECHO)
BORED!!
[EXHALES]

Akin says SORRY FOR THE OUTBURST.
IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE
DAYS YOU KNOW.
I DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING ART.
MY FRIENDS AREN'T ALLOWED TO
COME OVER UNTIL LATER.
THERE'S NOTHING ON TV.
AND I'VE USED UP ALL MY
INTERNET TIME.
AND PATTY IS STILL NOT BACK FROM
HER CAMPING TRIP.
WHAT'S A KID SUPPOSED TO DO?
BEING BORED CAN BE FRUSTRATING
AND ANNOYING.
AND SOMETIMES OUT OF OUR
CONTROL.
LIKE WHEN WE'RE SICK OR HURT.
MY FRIEND DANNY HAS A STORY
ABOUT THAT.

He clicks on a remote and an animation rolls as Akin tells the story.

(music plays)
[LAUGHTER]

Akin says ONE DAY DURING RECESS, DANNY WAS
PLAYING WITH HIS FRIENDS.
AND HE BROKE HIS ARM.
WHEN HE FOUND OUT THAT HE HAD TO
WEAR A CAST,
DANNY WAS FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY.
THE CAST MEANT HE
COULDN'T WRITE,
CARRY A SCHOOL BAG,
TAKE SHOWERS
OR PLAY SOCCER, HIS
FAVOURITE SPORT.
HIS ARM SEEMED TO TAKE FOREVER
TO HEAL.
DANNY WAS SAD HE HAD TO SIT
IN PAIN
INSTEAD OF DOING THE THINGS
HE LOVED.

Now Akin sits in his backyard with Duane.

Duane is in his thirties, with short straight black hair and wears beige trousers, a burgundy T-shirt and an unbuttoned plaid shirt.

Akin says I WAS THINKING I COULD DRAW
DANNY SCORING A
WINNING GOAL AND THE CROWD
CHEERING.
BUT THAT MIGHT BE TOO HARD
TO DRAW.
I COULD WRITE AN
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE
BUT THAT MIGHT BE TOO HARD
TO FIT ON A CAST.
MAYBE I SHOULD JUST ASK DANNY
WHAT HE WANTS ON HIS CAST.

Duane says THAT'S A GREAT IDEA AKIN.
I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT
EVERYTHING THAT
DANNY HAS HAD TO GO THROUGH.
A BROKEN ARM, HAVING TO WEAR A
CAST PREVENTING HIM
FROM PLAYING SOCCER AMONG
OTHER THINGS
AND THEN HIS ARM TOOK SO LONG
TO HEAL.
THAT'S A LOT FOR ONE PERSON TO
GO THROUGH.
BUT I'M GLAD THAT HE WAS WILLING
TO SHARE HIS EXPERIENCE WITH US.

Akin says DANNY'S BROKEN ARM MADE HIM FEEL
FRUSTRATED AND STUCK.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO FEEL BETTER
IF YOU WERE IN HIS SHOES?

Duane says WE ALL GO THROUGH CHALLENGING
TIMES SO WE ALL
HAVE FEELINGS THAT GO WITH THOSE
CHALLENGING TIMES.
AND IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US NOT TO
KEEP FEELINGS BOTTLED UP
BECAUSE THEY CAN BECOME SO HEAVY
AND SO PAINFUL.
THAT'S WHY WE
ENCOURAGE PEOPLE
TO EXPRESS THEIR
FEELINGS.
I HOPE THAT DANNY HAS AN ADULT
IN HIS LIFE
THAT HE CAN TRUST TO TALK TO.
LIKE A PARENT, A GUARDIAN OR
MAYBE EVEN A SOCCER COACH.
I REALLY HOPE HE TAKES THE TIME
TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE
BECAUSE HE DESERVES TO
BE HEARD.

Akin says TRUE. IS THERE ANYTHING HE COULD
TRY BY HIMSELF?

Duane says WELL REMEMBER IT'S IMPORTANT TO
EXPRESS OUR FEELINGS
AND WHILE TALKING ABOUT OUR
FEELINGS CAN BE
A HELPFUL WAY TO EXPRESS OUR
FEELINGS,
IT'S NOT THE ONLY WAY.
I WONDER HOW DANNY MIGHT FEEL
ABOUT TRYING OTHER
IDEAS LIKE WRITING HIS THOUGHTS
OUT IN A JOURNAL
OR PAINTING A PICTURE
OR WRITING POETRY
OR MAYBE THERE'S SOME OTHER WAY
THAT HE FEELS
WILL HELP HIM TO EXPRESS
HIS FEELINGS.

Akin says IT SOUNDS LIKE WHEN DANNY'S ARM
GOT HURT,
HIS FEELINGS GOT HURT TOO.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR BAD
FEELINGS LIKE ANGER
AND FRUSTRATION TO GO AWAY?

Duane says WELL I HOPE THAT DANNY CAN BE
PATIENT WITH HIMSELF.
WORKING THROUGH OUR FEELINGS CAN
BE A PROCESS
AND IT TAKES TIME BUT IF HE
CONTINUES TO REACH OUT
TO A TRUSTED ADULT OR RELY ON
HIS GOOD FRIENDS
AND TRY SOME OF THOSE ACTIVITIES
THAT HELP HIM
EXPRESS HIS FEELINGS,
MY HOPE IS THAT HE'LL
BE ABLE TO ENJOY
THOSE ACTIVITIES THAT
HE MISSES SO MUCH
IN NO TIME.

Akin says THANKS DUANE. YOU'RE PRETTY GOOD
AT THIS WHOLE ADVICE THING.

Duane says AHHH, THANKS AKIN.

Akin says DON'T MENTION IT.
[STRAINED GRUNT]

They make a toast with snacks.

(music plays)
[FANFARE]

(music plays)

Now Akin's friends make a fort in the basement to cheer him up.

Stella walks down the basement with popcorn and says POPCORN FLYING IN!

Stella is in her early teens, with long blond hair in a braid and wears glasses, gray trousers, a white sweater and a denim jacket.

Akin says THANKS.
YOU GUYS ALWAYS KNOW HOW TO
CHEER ME UP
WHEN I'M BORED.
BUT THIS IS NEXT LEVEL.
I WISH DANNY COULD BE HERE
TO SEE IT.
WHAT DID YOU GUYS THINK
OF HIS STORY?

Kalina is in her early teens, with long curly brown hair in a hald do and wears a blue sweater.

Kalina says FOR ME, I FELT SO BAD FOR DANNY.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE
DONE TO KEEP MYSELF
OCCUPIED FOR SUCH A LONG TIME.

Stella says I WOULD FEEL REALLY
BAD FOR HIM
BECAUSE I WOULD BE DEVASTATED
IF I COULDN'T DO THINGS THAT
I LIKE TO DO.

Akin says HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SICK OR HURT
AND NOT BE ABLE
TO DO YOUR NORMAL ACTIVITIES?

Eli is in his early teens, with short curly brown hair and wears jeans, a white shirt and an orange sweater.

Eli says YES, I WAS HURT, AND I HAD
A CAST ON MY FOOT
THEN I COULDN'T PLAY SOCCER
LIKE DANNY AND WHEN
THE SEASON WAS OVER,
MY TEAM WAS IN FIRST PLACE
SO ONE OF MY
TEAMMATES GAVE ME
THE TROPHY.

Akin says THAT'S ONE KIND KID.
HAVE YOU EVER HELPED A FRIEND
THAT WAS SICK OR HURT?

Kalian says YEAH I HAVE, WHAT I DID WAS
HELP CHEER THEM UP
BY TELLING THEM IT WOULD BE OKAY
AND STUFF
AND MAYBE IF THEY'D
NEED IT
I'D BRING THEM TO THE OFFICE
AT SCHOOL.
TO GET THEM SOME SORT OF ICE OR
BANDAID IF THEY NEEDED IT.

Eli says AT MY HOCKEY PRACTICE, WE
WERE PLAYING A GAME
AND IT WAS A, WE WON AT THE END
AND IT WAS ME AND MY FRIEND
AND WHEN I GOT UP I BY ACCIDENT
BODY CHECKED HIM.
HE WAS CRYING AFTER
BECAUSE HE GOT HURT.
SO I HUGGED HIM
AFTER.
SO HE WOULD FEEL BETTER.

Akin says IF DANNY WAS HERE, WHAT WOULD
YOU TELL HIM?

Stella says I WOULD JUST TELL HIM
MAKE THE MOST OF IT AND BE
PATIENT BECAUSE
WHEN IT'S OVER HE CAN PLAY
SOCCER AND HAVE FUN.

Eli says I WOULD TELL HIM NOT TO STICK A
MARKER DOWN THERE
TO ITCH YOU, BECAUSE I HAD A
CAST AND THE MARKER
IT GOT STUCK.

Kalian says I WOULD JUST
TELL HIM
MAKE THE MOST
OF IT.
HAVE EVERYONE DECORATE
HIS CAST
SO IT LOOKS AMAZING.
AND JUST TRY AND GET
THROUGH IT.
BE BRAVE!
WISE WORDS GUYS.

Akin says THIS IS A FIVE STARS
FEELINGS FORT
BUT I STILL THINK IT COULD USE
A LITTLE SOMETHING.

(music plays)

Suddenly a disco ball drops from the ceiling.

Akin says NOW WE'RE TALKING.

(music plays)

They all start dancing.

(music plays)

Back in his room, Akin sits with his dog and says REMEMBER THAT GIRL?
AT THE BEACH LAST SUMMER?
YOU AND THAT GIANT SEAGULL
FOUGHT OVER A PIZZA CRUST.
HAAA, MEMORIES.
DANNY'S STORY REMINDED ME OF
SOMETHING I'VE BEEN
PRACTICING, GRATITUDE.
THAT MEANS BEING THANKFUL
FOR EVERYTHING I HAVE.
A COOL ROOM TO FEEL MY
FEELINGS IN.
A HEALTHY BODY.
AND AWESOME FRIENDS.
WE GET SO USED TO THESE GOOD
THINGS THAT
THEY BECOME KIND OF
INVISIBLE TO US.
INSTEAD WE ONLY SEE THE THINGS
THAT AREN'T GOING OUR WAY.
WHEN YOU'RE FEELING SAD, SEE IF
YOU CAN NOTICE
THE INVISIBLE GOOD THINGS.
TAKE A MINUTE TO FEEL
THANKFUL FOR THEM.
SEE IF YOUR HEART FEELS A LITTLE
LIGHTER AND BRIGHTER.

(music plays)

In the fort, Akin says HOW'S IT COMING ALONG?

His friends show him a soccer ball with Danny's name on and a trophy.

Akin says LOOKING GOOD!
DANNY HAD TO MISS OUT ON HIS
SOCCER BECAUSE OF
HIS BROKEN ARM.
BU THE DESERVES A TROPHY
FOR HIS BRAVERY
AND PATIENCE.
EVEN WHEN YOU CAN'T DO THE
THINGS THAT MAKE YOU
FEEL LIKE YOU, JUST REMEMBER,
THE REAL YOU IS
STILL IN THERE. AND THAT KID
IS STRONGER THAN
YOU CAN EVEN IMAGINE!
CATCH YOU NEXT TIME.
WAIT FOR ME!

Music plays as the end credits roll.
