A split screen shows images of kids playing kitchenware as musical instruments.
In colourful letters, the name of the show appears between a fork and a knife. It reads "My world kitchen."
The narrator says WHOSE KITCHEN ARE
WE GOING TO TODAY?
A boy opens the door to his house and says HI, I'M ROHAN.
A girl standing next to him says HI, I'M RIA.
COME ON IN.
Rohan is around 10, with short wavy brown hair and wears a green T-shirt.
Ria is around 11, with long wavy brown hair in a braid and wears a yellow dress.
Rohan says THIS IS OUR NANNY.
The nanny says HI.
The narrator says HI, NANNY.
Ria says THIS IS OUR KITCHEN.
TODAY WE'RE GOING TO MAKE
TANDOORI CHICKEN WITH MINT
SAUCE.
Rohan says WE'RE MAKING TANDOORI CHICKEN
BECAUSE IT'S MY FAVOURITE FOOD.
The narrator says NANNY HAS SHOWN RIA AND ROHAN
A VERY SPECIAL WAY OF COOKING
TANDOORI CHICKEN.
RIA AND ROHAN ARE PUNJABI, AND
THEY COME FROM THE PUNJAB IN
INDIA.
INDIA IS A VERY BIG COUNTRY IN
SOUTH ASIA.
An animated world map shows the location of India.
The narrator says IT HAS A VERY LARGE POPULATION
AND OVER 100 LANGUAGES ARE
SPOKEN THERE.
THE WEATHER IS DIFFERENT ALL
OVER INDIA, WHICH MAKES IT THE
PERFECT PLACE TO GROW LOTS OF
DIFFERENT TYPES OF FOOD.
INDIA IS CALLED THE "LAND OF
SPICES."
IT PRODUCES MORE SPICES THAN
ANY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
RIA AND ROHAN HAVE WASHED THEIR
HANDS, PUT ON THEIR APRONS AND
NOW THEY'RE READY TO COOK.
Ria says WE ARE MAKING TANDOORI
CHICKEN.
Rohan says WITH YOGHURT AND MINT SAUCE.
Ria says FOR OUR FRIENDS.
The narrator says AND THEY'VE INVITED
WYNCHESTER, MYA, ABBY AND BEN
TO TASTE ONE OF THE MAIN
INGREDIENTS BEFORE THEY COME
ROUND FOR A VERY SPECIAL INDIAN
MEAL LATER.
WHAT'S THAT?
Wynchester is around 7, with short curly brown hair and wears a blue T-shirt.
Mya is around 7, with straight brown hair in a bob cut and wears a purple printed T-shirt.
Abby is around 10, with long straight blond hair and wears a pale pink T-shirt.
Ben is around 11, with short wavy blond hair and wears a sky blue T-shirt.
Mya opens a box with a garlic clove inside and says IS IT A SORT OF NUT?
Ben says I THINK IT'S A NUT.
Wynchester says UHH, A NUT?
Wynchester chews the clove and spits it out.
(CRUNCHING)
The narrator says IT'S NOT A NUT!
(SPITTING, GROANING)
IT'S GARLIC!
Wynchester says SPICY.
Ben says YUCKY AND SPICY.
Mya says IT MAKES IT REALLY HOT.
Wynchester says I DON'T LIKE IT.
Mya says I DON'T REALLY LIKE IT.
The narrator says OH NO, THEY DON'T SEEM TO
LIKE GARLIC AT ALL.
LET'S FIND OUT IF RIA AND ROHAN
CAN CHANGE THEIR MINDS, BECAUSE
GARLIC IS AN IMPORTANT
INGREDIENT IN THEIR TANDOORI
CHICKEN WITH YOGHURT AND MINT
SAUCE.
AS WELL AS GARLIC, YOU'LL NEED
COOKED CHICKEN THIGHS, SPICES
AND SALT, OLIVE OIL, BLACK
PEPPER, NATURAL YOGHURT, FRESH
MINT, AND FRESH CORIANDER.
WHAT'S FIRST THEN, RIA AND
ROHAN?
Ria says WE'RE GETTING THE CUMIN
SEEDS AND THE CORIANDER SEEDS.
The narrator says AH, THAT'S CUMIN SEEDS, AND
CORIANDER SEEDS.
Ria puts the seeds in a mortar and says I'M JUST GOING TO BASH THEM
ALL UP.
The narrator says YEAH, GRIND THEM ALL UP.
ADD SMOKED PAPRIKA, GARAM
MASALA, AND FENUGREEK.
BE CAREFUL NOT TO GET ANY
SPICES IN YOUR EYES, COULD BE
PAINFUL.
Ria says I'M GOING TO ADD A PINCH
OF SALT.
Rohan says AND I'M GOING TO ADD SOME
PEPPER.
The narrator says WOW, LOOK AT ALL THOSE
COLOURS.
Ria says NOW WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THE
SCALES...
WEIGHING THE YOGHURT.
FOR THIS, YOU HAVE TO BE EQUAL,
LIKE THAT.
The narrator says AND POUR THE YOGHURT IN UNTIL
THE SCALES BALANCE.
Ria says THERE, THAT'S BALANCED.
The narrator says GREAT.
Ria says NOW WE'RE JUST GOING TO TAKE
THAT OFF AND POUR IT IN.
WE'RE GOING TO MIX IT ALL UP.
GOT TO ENSURE THAT IT'S, LIKE,
AN ORANGE COLOUR.
The narrator says WHAT NEXT?
Rohan adds two spoonful of oil and says PUT THE OIL IN.
NOW AFTER YOU'VE PUT THE OIL IN,
YOU MIX IT.
The narrator says MIX IT, MIX IT, MIX IT.
Rohan says NOW IT'S TIME FOR OUR SPECIAL
INGREDIENT.
The narrator says AND YOU KNOW WHAT IS, DON'T
YOU?
IT'S GARLIC.
GARLIC GROWS UNDER THE SOIL
FROM A BULB.
INSIDE EACH BULB ARE GARLIC
CLOVES.
THESE ARE THE PARTS THAT WE
EAT.
GARLIC GROWS ALL OVER THE
WORLD, AND CHINA GROWS MORE
GARLIC THAN ANYWHERE ELSE.
Rohan says NOW WE'RE GOING TO PEEL THE
GARLIC.
The narrator says IF YOU FIND THIS TRICKY, ASK
A GROWN-UP TO HELP YOU.
Rohan says GOING TO PUT THEM IN
OUR BAG.
YOU CAN SMELL IT A LOT.
They start smashing the cloves with rolling pins.
The narrator says THAT'S RIGHT, GARLIC HAS A
STRONG SMELL.
Rohan says NOW WE'RE GOING TO PUT OUR
GARLIC IN THE SAUCE THAT WE MADE
EARLIER.
The narrator says GIVE IT A GOOD SHAKE.
Rohan says BING!
OKAY.
The narrator says AND STIR IT UP.
Ria says YOU HAVE A BIT MORE OF A STIR
WHILE I GET THE CHICKEN.
Rohan says OKAY.
The narrator says NANNY HAS ALREADY COOKED THE
CHICKEN PIECES FOR RIA AND
ROHAN TO USE.
Rohan says I'M MIXING THE CHICKEN
SO ALL THE FLAVOUR CAN GO INTO
THE CHICKEN.
The narrator says YEAH, MAKE SURE YOU MIX IT
REALLY WELL, ROHAN.
Ria covers the bowl with aluminum foil and says I'M GOING TO ADD THIS, I'M
GOING TO COVER IT UP REALLY
WELL, THEN I'LL PUT IT BACK IN
THE FRIDGE.
The narrator says AH, LEAVE IT IN THE FRIDGE SO
ALL THOSE LOVELY FLAVOURS OF
THE SAUCE SOAK NICELY INTO THE
CHICKEN.
Rohan says NOW WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THE
MINT SAUCE.
I'VE GOT MINT LEAVES.
Ria says I'VE GOT CORIANDER.
The narrator says AND CHOP AWAY.
Rohan says AND THEN WE'RE GOING
TO SNIP.
SNIP, SNIP, SNIP.
Ria says AND BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU'RE
CUTTING UP BECAUSE THE SCISSORS
ARE VERY SHARP.
The narrator says YOU'RE RIGHT THERE, RIA.
Ria says NOW YOU GET THE YOGHURT.
Rohan says THANK YOU.
Ria says THERE'S YOURS AND HERE'S
MINE.
The narrator says ADD THE FRESH MINT AND
CORIANDER TO THE YOGHURT.
GIVE IT A GOOD SHAKE.
LOVELY, THEN ADD SOME GROUND
CUMIN, A PINCH OF SALT, AND
SOME BLACK PEPPER, THEN MIX IT
ALL TOGETHER.
Ria says THAT LOOKS GOOD.
Rohan says NANNY, WE'RE READY FOR THE
CHICKEN!
The narrator says TAKE THE CHICKEN OUT OF THE
FRIDGE... MMM.
Nanny says OKAY, ROHAN, DO YOU WANT TO
HOLD THAT DOWN THERE?
Rohan says YEAH.
Nanny says SO KEEP TURNING IT SLOWLY.
THAT'S IT, VERY GOOD.
The narrator says CHECK IT OUT, NANNY'S PUTTING
THE CHICKEN ON BIG SKEWERS.
Nanny says IT'S GOT A POINTED SHARP END
DOWN THIS BIT, SO OBVIOUSLY I'M
HELPING OUT WITH THAT.
OKAY, GUYS, IF YOU WANT TO
FOLLOW ME THEN.
OKAY?
The narrator says NANNY'S COOKING WITH A
TRADITIONAL INDIAN TANDOOR
OVEN.
THE TANDOOR OVEN ADDS A SPECIAL
FLAVOUR TO THE FOOD WHILE IT'S
COOKING.
BE CAREFUL BECAUSE IT'S
EXTREMELY HOT.
AND IF YOU WANT TO MAKE THEIR
TRADITIONAL TANDOORI CHICKEN
AND MINT YOGHURT RECIPE AT HOME
IN AN ORDINARY OVEN, HERE'S
WHAT YOU DO.
FIRST GRIND CUMIN SEEDS AND
CORIANDER SEEDS TOGETHER, ADD
THEM TO A BOWL, ADD SOME SMOKED
PAPRIKA, GARAM MASALA, GROUND
FENUGREEK, A PINCH OF SALT, A
GRINDING OF PEPPER, AND THEN
TIP IT INTO THE NATURAL
YOGHURT.
GIVE IT A GOOD MIX, ADD SOME
OIL, AND GIVE IT ANOTHER MIX.
PEEL THE SKIN OFF THE GARLIC
CLOVES AND PUT THEM INTO A
PLASTIC FOOD BAG, THEN BASH
THEM INTO SMALL PIECES WITH A
ROLLING PIN.
NOW EMPTY THE GARLIC PIECES
INTO THE YOGHURT MIXTURE AND
GIVE IT ANOTHER MIX.
ADD THE COOKED CHICKEN AND COAT
IT ALL IN THAT LOVELY TANDOORI
SAUCE.
NOW COVER IT WITH FOIL AND
LEAVE IT FOR A WHILE IN THE
FRIDGE.
TO MAKE THE YOGHURT MINT SAUCE,
CAREFULLY CUT UP FRESH MINT AND
CORIANDER, ADD IT TO MORE
NATURAL YOGHURT, ADD GROUND
CUMIN, SALT, AND BLACK PEPPER.
AND GIVE THAT ALL A GOOD MIX.
TAKE THE CHICKEN OUT OF THE
FRIDGE AND ASK A GROWN-UP TO
CAREFULLY PUT THE CHICKEN
PIECES ONTO A SKEWER, THEN PUT
THEM IN THE OVEN ON A BAKING
TRAY.
NOW THERE'S JUST ENOUGH TIME
FOR RIA AND ROHAN TO GET THEIR
TABLE READY FOR THEIR VERY
SPECIAL INDIAN MEAL.
WOW, LOOK AT THIS!
TRADITIONAL INDIAN NAAN BREAD,
THANKS, NANNY.
Rohan says LOTS OF INDIAN PEOPLE DON'T
EAT WITH KNIFE AND FORKS, THEY
USE THEIR HANDS.
Ria says THAT'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO
MAKE OUR FRIENDS DO TODAY.
(DOORBELL RINGING)
The narrator says NO KNIVES AND FORKS?
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN.
YOUR TABLE LOOKS THE PERFECT
PLACE TO EAT A SPECIAL INDIAN
MEAL.
Rohan says HI.
All their friends say HI!
Rohan says COME ON IN!
The narrator says NOW EVERYONE'S WASHED THEIR
HANDS AND THEY'RE READY TO EAT.
Abby says IT LOOKS REALLY NICE.
Ria says THANKS.
Ben says I LOVE INDIAN.
Nanny serves the food.
Rohan says THANK YOU.
The narrator says HERE'S NANNY WITH THE COOKED
CHICKEN AND YOGHURT.
Mya says THANK YOU.
Abby says THANK YOU.
The narrator says MMM, THE CHICKEN HAS CHANGED
COLOUR IN THE TANDOOR OVEN.
LOOKS TASTY, DOESN'T IT?
AND IT GOES REALLY WELL WITH
THE YOGHURT AND MINT SAUCE.
Rohan says YOU HAVEN'T GOT ANY FORKS OR
KNIFE, BECAUSE IN INDIA, THEY
DIDN'T USE ANY FORKS OR KNIVES.
Ben says OH, YOU JUST USE YOUR
HANDS?
Ria and Rohan say YEAH.
The narrator says WOW, THIS COULD GET MESSY.
NOW, NO ONE WAS VERY KEEN ON
GARLIC BEFORE, DO YOU THINK
THEY'LL CHANGE THEIR MINDS WHEN
THEY TASTE IT IN RIA AND
ROHAN'S FOOD?
Wynchester says I LOVED THE SAUCE.
Ria says WHAT DO YOU THINK OF EATING
WITH YOUR HANDS?
Abby says MESSY.
(LAUGHING)
The narrator says BUT LOTS OF FUN.
Ria says CAN ANYONE GUESS WHAT OUR
VERY SPECIAL INGREDIENT WAS?
Abby says WAS IT GARLIC?
Ria says YES.
Rohan says WHAT DO YOU THINK OF GARLIC
NOW YOU'VE TRIED IT IN OUR FOOD?
Mya says IT'S REALLY NICE.
I REALLY LIKE THE CHICKEN.
Ria says WE MADE IT IN THE CLAY OVEN.
Abby says IT'S REALLY NICE.
The narrator says WELL DONE, RIA AND ROHAN.
THEY DO LIKE THE TASTE OF
GARLIC NOW IT'S COOKED IN YOUR
TANDOORI CHICKEN.
