In split screens, children prepare food in time to the music. The children hit pots and pans with kitchen utensils, and mix and shake ingredients in containers. Rows of different dishes appear.

Title: My World Kitchen

A narrator says, WHOSE KITCHEN ARE
WE GOING TO TODAY?

A girl with red hair in braids tied in a big orange bow and wearing a green and orange print dress opens a white door from inside a house.

The red-haired girl says, HI, MY NAME'S CHARLOTTE.
COME IN.

Charlotte walks inside the house. A man with short red hair and wearing a red and blue short-sleeved checked shirt walks in from a door.

Charlotte says,
THIS IS MY DAD.

Charlotte’s Dad waves and says, HI.

The narrator says, HI, DAD.

Charlotte stands behind a kitchen island and says,
AND TODAY I'M GOING TO BE
MAKING AN IRISH BOXTY BECAUSE
THE MAIN INGREDIENT IS POTATOES
AND I LOVE POTATOES.

The narrator says, CHARLOTTE HAS LEARNED HOW TO
MAKE BOXTY FROM HER FAMILY.
HER FAMILY ARE FROM IRELAND AND
BOXTY IS A TRADITIONAL IRISH
POTATO DISH.

Charlotte puts ingredients on a pale wooden board on the kitchen island.

(Bongo music)

A red arrow points at northern Europe on a colourful map of the world.

The narrator says,
IRELAND IS A COUNTRY IN EUROPE.
IT'S NAMED THE EMERALD ISLE
BECAUSE IT HAS SO MUCH GREEN
COUNTRYSIDE.
IT HAS BEAUTIFUL GREEN HILLS,
TREES, GRASS, AND MEADOWS, AND
IS GOOD FOR FARMING CROPS AND
ANIMALS.
ONE OF IRELAND'S MOST IMPORTANT
CROPS ARE POTATOES WHERE
THEY'VE BEEN GROWN FOR HUNDREDS
OF YEARS.

Tractors drive over a field of potatoes.

The Narrator says,
POTATOES ARE ONE OF THE MAIN
INGREDIENTS IN MANY IRISH
RECIPES, SUCH AS IRISH STEW,
SHEPHERD'S PIE, AND A POTATO
PANCAKE CALLED BOXTY.

Charlotte washes her hands at a kitchen sink and puts a grey polka-dot apron over her dress.

The narrator says,
CHARLOTTE HAS WASHED HER HANDS,
PUT ON HER APRON, AND SHE'S
READY TO COOK.

Charlotte says,
I'M GOING TO MAKE A BOXTY FOR
MY FRIENDS.

The narrator says, AND SHE'S INVITED JASMINE,
CALEB, AND ALEXIS TO TASTE HER
SPECIAL INGREDIENT IN HER IRISH
BOXTY BEFORE THEY COME 'ROUND
FOR AN IRISH MEAL LATER.

Jasmine is a girl with long dark wavy hair wearing a blue cardigan. Caleb is a boy with short brown hair wearing a white collarless button-down shirt. Alexis is a girl with long dark hair in a braid and wearing glasses, a blue T-shirt, and a white fluffy cardigan. Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis wave.

The narrator says, WHAT'S THAT?

Jasmine opens a cardboard box and takes out a green sprig. She bites into the sprig and covers her mouth with her hand.

Caleb holds up a sprig says,
WHAT THIS? A FLOWER? OH.

Caleb bites into the sprig.

The narrator says, IT'S ROSEMARY.

Alexis bites into a sprig of rosemary.

Caleb gags and leans forward.

(Caleb groans and spits)

(The narrator laughs)

The narrator says, OH NO, THEY DON'T SEEM ALL
THAT KEEN ON THE TASTE OF FRESH
ROSEMARY.

Caleb says, I DON'T LIKE IT.

The narrator says, LET'S SEE IF CHARLOTTE CAN
CHANGE THEIR MINDS.

Alexis frowns and sticks her tongue out.

Alexis says, OH, THAT TASTES GROSS.

Alexis smiles and looks down.

Jasmine smiles and shakes her head. She says, I DON'T REALLY WANT ANY MORE.

Jasmine puts the sprig of rosemary in the cardboard box.

The narrator says, BECAUSE ROSEMARY IS AN
IMPORTANT INGREDIENT IN HER
RECIPE.

(Bongo music)

Ingredients appear on the pale wooden board.

The narrator says,
AS WELL AS FRESH ROSEMARY, YOU
WILL NEED SALT, TOMATOES,
VEGETABLE OIL, POTATOES, FRESH
PARSLEY, BLACK PEPPER, TINNED
CORN BEEF, AND EGGS.

Charlotte says, FIRST I'M GOING TO WASH MY
POTATOES.

Charlotte runs water from a tap in the kitchen sink and scrubs potatoes under the tap.

Charlotte says,
I'M JUST GIVING THEM A PAT DRY.
NOW, I'M GOING TO PIERCE THE
POTATOES AND IT HELPS THEM COOK
ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

Charlotte pokes a fork into the potatoes.

Charlotte calls,
DAD, CAN YOU PUT THESE IN THE
OVEN PLEASE?

Charlotte’s Dad puts the potatoes on a baking tray into an oven.

The narrator says, NOW, ASK A GROWN UP TO COOK
THEM FOR YOU.
WHILE THEY'RE COOKING TAKE SOME
PEELED UNCOOKED POTATO PIECES
AND GRATE THEM.

Charlotte cranks a grater by hand. Grated potato falls out of the opening of the grater and into a green plastic bowl.

(Grating sound)

Charlotte says, MY NAN FROM IRELAND TAUGHT ME
TO MAKE BOXTY.
I'VE GOT LOTS OF FAMILY WHO LIVE
IN IRELAND.

The narrator says, WHEN THE POTATOES FROM
EARLIER HAVE BAKED IN THE OVEN,
ASK A GROWN UP TO TAKE THEM
OUT.

Charlotte’s Dad says, JUST LEAVE THE POTATOES HERE
TO COOL DOWN.

Charlotte says, OKAY.

Charlotte’s Dad puts the tray of potatoes on a kitchen counter.

Charlotte uses a fork to scrape grated potatoes out of the opening of the grater and into the green bowl.

The narrator says, WHEN THE OVEN BAKED POTATOES
HAVE COOLED, TWIST THEM AND
SCOOP OUT THE INSIDES WITH A
SPOON.

Charlotte twists the baked potatoes with her hands and uses a spoon to scoop the insides out onto the pale wooden board.

The narrator says, POP THEM INTO A PLASTIC FOOD BAG.

Charlotte puts the insides of the potatoes into a clear plastic bag.

The narrator says,
AND MASH WITH YOUR HANDS.

Charlotte says, THIS IS A REALLY FUN BIT, YOU
HAVE LOADS OF FUN DOING THIS.

The narrator says, YEAH, IT DOES LOOK FUN.

Charlotte says, I'M PUTTING THE MASHED POTATO
WITH THE GRATED POTATO.

Charlotte pours potato from the clear plastic bag into a blue bowl.

The narrator says, ADD A PINCH OF SALT AND
PEPPER.

Charlotte says, NOW, I'M GOING TO MIX IT.

Charlotte mixes ingredients in the blue bowl with a spoon.

Charlotte says,
NOW, IT'S TIME FOR MY SPECIAL
INGREDIENT.

The narrator says, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS,
DON'T YOU?
IT'S ROSEMARY.

(Bongo music)

The narrator says,
ROSEMARY IS A PLANT WITH LOTS
OF SMALL GREEN LEAVES THAT LOOK
LIKE LITTLE NEEDLES.

In animation, tall thin rosemary plants with blue flowers sway back and forth.

The narrator says,
ROSEMARY IS MOSTLY USED AS A
HERB, WHICH CAN ADD FLAVOUR TO
BOTH SWEET AND SAVOURY RECIPES.
ROSEMARY HAS A VERY PLEASANT
SMELL AND IS OFTEN USED IN THE
MAKING OF PERFUMES AND
COSMETICS.
ROSEMARY ATTRACTS BEES AND
GARDENERS PLANT IT TO ENCOURAGE
THEM INTO THEIR GARDENS.

In animation, two bees hover around the blue flowers on the rosemary plants.

Charlotte says, NOW, I'M GOING TO PUT THE
ROSEMARY INTO THE MASHED POTATO
AND THE GRATED POTATO.

Charlotte pulls leaves off a sprig of rosemary and drops them into the blue bowl.

(Charlotte sniffs)

Charlotte says, MM, IT SMELLS LIKE FRESH AIR.

Charlotte stirs the ingredients in the blue bowl.

The narrator says, GIVE IT ANOTHER MIX, THEN
CRACK AN EGG, CHECK THERE'S NO
SHELL IN IT, WIPE YOUR HANDS,
AND BEAT IT WITH A FORK.
ADD IT TO THE BOWL AND GIVE IT
ANOTHER MIX.
THEN OIL TWO YORKSHIRE PUDDING
TRAYS.

Charlotte uses a brush to spread oil in two trays each with four round sections.

The narrator says,
FILL ONE WITH THE POTATO
MIXTURE JUST LIKE THIS.
THEN CAREFULLY CRACK FOUR EGGS
TO FILL THE CUPS IN THE OTHER
TRAY.

Charlotte says, I'VE GOT A SPECIAL SHAMROCK
SURPRISE FOR MY FRIENDS.
A SHAMROCK IS A KIND OF LEAF
THAT REPRESENTS IRELAND.

The narrator says, REMEMBER TO WIPE YOUR HANDS.

Charlotte says, DAD, CAN YOU PUT THE EGGS AND
THE BOXTY IN THE OVEN PLEASE?

Charlotte’s Dad says, SURE, CHARLOTTE.

The narrator says, YES, AND ASK A GROWN-UP TO
POP EVERYTHING IN THE OVEN FOR
YOU.

Charlotte’s Dad puts the two trays into the oven.

Charlotte peels a piece of foil off a clear plate that holds a chunk of tinned corned beef.

Charlotte says, NOW, I'M GOING TO MASH THE
CORNED BEEF.

Charlotte presses a fork in the chunk of corned beef.

The narrator says, THAT'S BRILLIANT, AND
CAREFULLY CHOP UP THE PARSLEY.

Charlotte uses a pair of scissors to cut bunches of parsley leaves in a glass.

Charlotte says, DAD, CAN YOU TAKE THE EGG AND
THE BOXTY OUT THE OVEN PLEASE?

Charlotte’s Dad says, SURE.

The narrator says, WHEN EVERYTHING'S COOKED ASK
A GROWN-UP TO TAKE IT ALL OUT
OF THE OVEN FOR YOU AND HELP
YOU TO BUILD THE BOXTY.

Charlotte’s Dad puts the two trays on the pale wooden board.

Charlotte’s Dad says, CAREFUL THEY'RE HOT.

Charlotte says, OKAY.

Charlotte uses a spoon to take the potato out of the tray and onto plates.

Charlotte says,
NOW, I'M GOING TO PUT THE
CORNED BEEF ON.
IT'S LIKE BUILDING A CASTLE.

(The narrator laughs)

The narrator says, NOW, POP THE EGG ON TOP.

Charlotte says, NOW, I'LL PUT THE PARSLEY ON.

The narrator says, AND YOU CAN ADD SOME SLICED
TOMATOES.
NOW, IF YOU WANT TO MAKE
CHARLOTTE'S IRISH BOXTY…

(Bongo music)

The narrator says,
FIRST WASH AND DRY POTATOES, PRICK
THEM WITH A FORK, AND PLACE
THEM ON A BAKING TRAY, ASKING A
GROWN-UP TO PUT THEM IN THE
OVEN FOR YOU.
GRATE PEELED UNCOOKED POTATO
PIECES LIKE THIS.

Charlotte cranks a grater by hand. Grated potatoes fall into a blue bowl.

The narrator says, AND TIP THEM INTO A BOWL.
WHEN YOUR POTATOES ARE BAKED
AND COOLED, TWIST THEM AND
SCOOP THE INSIDES OUT WITH A
SPOON, AND POP THEM INTO A
PLASTIC BAG.
MASH THE POTATOES WITH YOUR
HANDS AND TIP THIS INTO THE
BOWL.

Charlotte empties the insides of potatoes in a clear plastic bag into the blue bowl.

The narrator says,
ADD SALT AND PEPPER.
AND THEN PULL THE LEAVES FROM
FRESH ROSEMARY, AND ADD THEM TO
THE BOWL.
GIVE IT A GOOD MIX.
CRACK AN EGG.
BEAT IT WITH A FORK.
AND TIP IT INTO THE BOWL,
MIXING AGAIN.
OIL TWO YORKSHIRE PUDDING
TRAYS.
AND SCOOP THE POTATO MIX INTO
ONE OF THEM JUST LIKE THIS.
GET A GROWN-UP TO PUT THEM IN
THE OVEN FOR YOU.
NOW TIME TO CRACK MORE EGGS.
AND PUT THESE IN THE OTHER
YORKSHIRE PUDDING TRAY AND ASK
A GROWN-UP TO PUT THEM IN THE
OVEN AS WELL.
MASH UP CORNED BEEF WITH A
FORK.
AND CAREFULLY CHOP UP SOME
FRESH PARSLEY.
WHEN THE POTATOES AND EGGS ARE
COOKED, ASK A GROWN-UP TO TAKE
YOUR TRAYS OUT OF THE OVEN.
NOW BUILD THE BOXTY BY PUTTING
CORNED BEEF ON TOP OF THE
POTATO BASE, ADDING AN EGG ON
TOP, CHOPPED PARSLEY, AND YES,
SOME SLICED TOMATO.

Charlotte decorates a white patio table.

Charlotte says,
NOW, THERE'S JUST ENOUGH TIME
FOR CHARLOTTE TO GET THE TABLE
READY FOR HER DELICIOUS IRISH
MEAL.
THOSE ARE PACKETS OF SHAMROCK
SEEDS.

Charlotte says, I'M GIVING MY FRIENDS
SHAMROCK SEEDS SO THEY CAN GROW
THEIR OWN SHAMROCKS AT HOME.

(Doorbell ringing)

Charlotte says, OH, GOOD, MY FRIENDS ARE HERE.

Charlotte runs from the table up a short flight of steps and into the back door of the house.

The patio table has green plates, orange drinking cups, orange napkins and green and orange paper shamrocks.

The narrator says, THE TABLE DECORATIONS LOOK
FANTASTIC CHARLOTTE.
ORANGE, WHITE AND GREEN ARE THE
COLOURS OF THE IRISH FLAG.

Charlotte opens the front door of the house.

Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis say, HI, CHARLOTTE.

Charlotte says, HI, GUYS COME IN.

Jasmine, Caleb, and Charlie walk into the house. Charlotte closes the door.

The narrator says, NOW, EVERYONE'S WASHED THEIR
HANDS, WE'RE READY TO EAT.
CHARLOTTE'S LEFT YOU A LITTLE
IRISH GIFT.

Charlotte, Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis walk out the back door.

Charlotte sits in a chair at the patio table and says,
THESE ARE SEEDS SO YOU CAN
GROW YOUR OWN SHAMROCK AT HOME.

Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis are sitting in chairs at the patio table.

Alexis says, WHAT'S A SHAMROCK?

Charlotte says, IT'S LIKE A KIND OF LEAF THAT
REPRESENTS IRELAND.

Jasmine says, IT LOOKS REALLY NICE.

Alexis says, IT'S ASTONISHING.

Charlotte says, ARE YOU ALL HUNGRY?

Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis say, YEAH.

The narrator says, AND HERE'S DAD WITH THE
FINISHED BOXTY.

Charlotte’s Dad walk out of the back door carrying plates. He puts the plates on the patio table.

A child says, THANK YOU.

The narrator says, WOW, THAT LOOKS REALLY
DELICIOUS WITH ALL THOSE LOVELY
LAYERS.

Jasmine and Charlotte eat from their plates.

The narrator says,
NOW, WHEN THEY FIRST TASTED
FRESH ROSEMARY, NO ONE WAS VERY
SURE ABOUT THE TASTE.
DO YOU THINK THEY'LL CHANGE
THEIR MIND WHEN THEY TASTE IT
IN CHARLOTTE'S BOXTY?

Caleb makes a thumbs-up sign and says, YES.

Charlotte says, THANK YOU.

Caleb says, MY THUMBS UP.

Caleb makes a thumbs-up sign with both hands.

Alexis says, CHARLOTTE, THE FLAVOURS
REALLY COME TOGETHER.

Charlotte says, THANK YOU.

Jasmine says, IT TASTES REALLY NICE.

Jasmine takes a bite of food from her plate.

Charlotte says, THANK YOU.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE SPECIAL
INGREDIENT IS?

Jasmine, Caleb, and Alexis say, ROSEMARY.

Charlotte says, THAT'S RIGHT.

The narrator says, THAT'S BRILLIANT, CHARLOTTE.
THEY DO LIKE THE TASTE OF
ROSEMARY THANKS TO YOU AND THE
LOVELY IRISH BOXTY.

Charlotte says, THANKS FOR COMING TO
MY WORLD
KITCHEN.
