A caption reads "TVO Kids presents."

In animation, the opening of the show rolls.

As the sun comes up between the mountains, colourful letters with different mood facial expressions form the name of the show. It reads "How do you feel?"

Akin walks in his room.

Akin is in his mid-teens, with slightly long braided brown hair and wears black trousers and a bright orange hooted sweatshirt.

Akin's room is full of colourful furniture, has different colour walls, a black and white checkered floor, pink curtains, and a neon sign that reads "Feelings" behind a couch.

(music plays)

He says WHERE ARE THEY? WHERE DID I
PUT THEM?
AH! THERE THEY ARE.
PHEW! I THOUGHT THAT I HAD
LOST MY FAVOURITE MARKERS.
THAT MADE ME FEEL SCARED,
WHICH MADE IT EVEN HARDER FOR
ME TO FIND THEM.
DID YOU KNOW THAT OUR THOUGHTS,
OUR FEELINGS,
AND ACTIONS ARE ALL
LINKED TOGETHER?
HERE. I'LL SHOW YOU.
DRUM ROLL
DRRRRRRRR!

He unveils a board with a cognitive triangle drawn on it.

He says PRESTO! DON'T BE FOOLED, THIS
ISN'T YOUR ORDINARY,
AVERAGE, RUN OF THE
MILL TRIANGLE.
THIS IS CALLED A COGNITIVE
TRIANGLE.
[CROWD 'OOOOHHHHH']

Akin says IT'S A TOOL THAT WE CAN USE TO
UNDERSTAND HOW OUR THOUGHTS,
FEELINGS, AND ACTIONS
WORK TOGETHER.
I EVEN MADE ONE MYSELF, AND
SO CAN YOU.

(music plays)

He starts crafting the triangle and says ALL IT TAKES IS SOME GLUE,
SOME SPARKLES, OR WHATEVER
MATERIAL YOU LIKE.
I LIKE USING STUFF THAT SPEAKS
TO ME, AND YOU CAN TOO.
IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A PLACE
TO FIND ART MATERIALS,
MY LOCAL DOLLAR STORE HAS LOTS.
SO YOURS MIGHT TOO!
I'M PUTTING IN SOME PUFF BALLS
BECAUSE,
WELL, LOOK AT THEM,
AND NOW FOR SOME
FINISHING TOUCHES.

He draws stars around the triangle.

He says NOW I'LL BREAK IT DOWN FOR YOU.
SEE, THIS POINT OF THE TRIANGLE
REPRESENTS A THOUGHT.
YOU KNOW, THOSE WORDS THAT RUN
THROUGH YOUR BRAIN
TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO.
THIS POINT REPRESENTS A FEELING,
LIKE HAPPY OR SAD OR SCARED
OR ANGRY.
AND THIS POINT OF THE TRIANGLE
REPRESENTS OUR ACTIONS,
THE THINGS WE DO AND
THE WAY WE BEHAVE.
LIKE HUGGING, OR SOMETIMES
ARGUING, WITH SOMEONE.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
LET'S SAY YOU'RE STARTING AT A
NEW SCHOOL AND YOU THINK
'MAYBE MY NEW CLASSMATES
WON'T LIKE ME.'
THAT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL SCARED.
WHICH COULD LEAD TO NOT TRYING
TO MAKE FRIENDS
AT YOUR NEW SCHOOL.
BUT, IF YOU CHANGE YOUR
THOUGHT TO
'I LIKE MYSELF, AND I THINK
OTHER KIDS WILL LIKE ME TOO!'
YOU MIGHT FEEL HOPEFUL
OR EXCITED.
WHICH COULD HELP YOU TO MEET
NEW FRIENDS!
OR YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR
THOUGHT TO...
'MAYBE THERE IS A FUN ACTIVITY
I COULD JOIN TO MEET
NEW FRIENDS'.
THAT COULD MAKE YOU FEEL
INTERESTED OR CURIOUS,
WHICH MIGHT HELP YOU FIND
OTHER KIDS
WHO LIKE THE SAME THINGS
AS YOU!
THE NEXT TIME YOU'RE HAVING
A PROBLEM,
MAKE YOUR OWN COGNITIVE
TRIANGLE,
AND SEE HOW YOUR THOUGHTS,
FEELINGS,
AND ACTIONS WORK TOGETHER!

Music plays as the end credits roll.
