Transcript: Word Calendar
A title reads "TVO Kids Presents."
In animation, the opening of the show rolls.
As the sun comes up between the mountains, colourful letters with different mood facial expressions form the name of the show over a rainbow. It reads "How do you feel?"
A song goes HOW DO YOU FEEL?
AND HOW DO YOU FEEL?
Akin is in his early teens, with slightly long braided brown hair and wears dark jeans and a yellow sweater.
Akin sits at a desk in a room full of colourful furniture, with different colour walls, a black and white checkered floor, pink curtains, and a neon sign that reads "Feelings" behind a couch.
A dog sits nearby.
Akin says HOW DO YOU FEEL, PATTY? WE HAD A
PRETTY GOOD DAY TODAY.
WE WENT FOR A LONG WALK, STOPPED
AT A LEMONADE STAND...
OH YEAH! AND WE MET RUPALI'S
NEW BABY SISTER.
THAT'S GOTTA WIN.
THE WORD OF THE DAY IS
"SISTER."
He writes a word and puts it in an album called "Akin's year in words."
He continues AH. GOOD THINKING, PATTY... PATTY? UH, WHAT A
SNEAKY GIRL.
LAST YEAR, MY UNCLE GAVE ME A
'WORD OF THE DAY' CALENDAR
SO I CAN LEARN A NEW ADVANCED
VOCABULARY WORD EVERYDAY.
BIG, DUSTY WORDS THAT KIND OF
SOUND LIKE MAGIC SPELLS.
BUT THIS YEAR, I'VE DECIDED TO
MAKE MY OWN
'WORD OF THE DAY'
CALENDAR.
EVERY NIGHT, BEFORE I GO TO
BED, I PICK ONE WORD
THAT DESCRIBES THAT DAY.
THEN I WRITE IT ON A NOTE CARD
AND PUT IT IN THE ALBUM.
IT COULD EVEN BE TWO WORDS.
THIS ONE'S FROM YESTERDAY.
I TRIED TO MAKE A FAMILY
BREAKFAST BUT THERE WAS...
AN INCIDENT...WITH THE TOASTER.
He shows a pink post-it that reads "Smoky toast."
He continues IT'S OKAY - WE ENDED UP
LAUGHING ABOUT IT.
SO YESTERDAY'S WORD - WELL,
WORDS - ARE "SMOKY TOAST."
"CRUSHER" - THAT'S WHEN MY
UNCLE VISITED
AND GAVE ME HIS BEAR HUG,
WHICH HE CALLS 'THE CRUSHER.'
UM, "ERASER" - THAT'S WHEN THE
NEW GIRL AT SCHOOL
OFFERED ME HER ERASER BEFORE
A QUIZ.
SHE WAS SO NICE.
"BIRTHDAY" - THAT ONE YOU
CAN PROBABLY GUESS.
YOU CAN MAKE A WORD OF THE DAY
CALENDAR, TOO.
ALL YOU NEED IS AN EMPTY
PHOTO ALBUM,
NOTE CARDS, AND A PEN.
IT HELPS ME TO REMEMBER ALL
THE GREAT LITTLE THINGS
THAT HAPPEN IN A DAY, AND I
HOPE IT HELPS YOU TOO!
(electronic music plays)
He writes "See ya next time!" on a post-it.
Music plays as the end credits roll.
