Matt responds, BREAKFAST.
Laura says,
MATT, IT'S 4:30 IN THE AFTERNOON.
Matt states,
IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF
THE DAY.
Laura says,
I THINK IT'S THE MOST
IMPORTANT MEAL BECAUSE IT'S
SUPPOSED TO BE THE FIRST MEAL.
Matt responds,
I THINK YOU NEED TO
'EGGSPAND' YOUR HORIZONS.
[Drumming]
Matt says,
YOU CAN HAVE BREAKFAST ANYTIME
YOU WANT. DON'T GO BAKIN'
MY HEART.
[Drumming]
Laura adds, I COULDN'T IF I FRIED.
[Drumming]
Matt replies,
THAT'S THE SPIRIT. THAT'S THE
SPIRIT. LISTEN, I JUST HAVE TO FIND
MY SPATULA AND MY OTHER SPATULA
AND MY MEASURING CUP AND MY
FRYING PAN.
Laura states,
MATT, IF I DON'T EAT SOON I
AM TOAST AND NOT THE GOOD KIND.
OK BUT SERIOUSLY I DON'T MEAN TO
SAY YOU ARE A BAD CHEF, I THINK YOU A
RE AMAZING, BUT DO I KNOW SOMEBODY
THAT MAY BE ABLE TO HELP US
SPEED THIS UP A BIT.
Matt asks, WHO?
Laura answers,
HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF
FIVE-YEAR-OLD COOKING SENSATION
EASY PEASY JORDON?
Matt replies,
OF COURSE! I AM LIKE THEIR
BIGGEST FAN.
Laura says,
OK WELL, THEY ARE HERE TODAY.
CHECK IT OUT.
Matt responds,
THEY ARE HERE IN THE TREE FORT?
A young boy with dark hair appears on a screen behind Laura and Matt. They turn to him and wave.
Text reads, “Easy Peasy Jordan”
Laura says,
JORDAN! WELCOME TO THE TREE FORT.
HOW'S IT GOING?
Jordan replies, GOOD.
Matt adds,
JORDAN, YOU ARE KNOWN
FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD CHEF AT
SUCH A YOUNG AGE AND WE WERE
HOPING YOU COULD HELP US MAKE
BREAKFAST RIGHT NOW.
HOW DOES THAT SOUND?
Jordan pumps his fists.
He says, YES.
Matt replies, AWESOME.
Laura adds,
YES! OKAY. CHECK IT OUT. WE
ACTUALLY GOT THIS RECIPE FROM
YOU. THESE ARE CRESCENT
ROLL-UPS THAT WE ARE HOPE WE
WILL GET YOUR HELP ON. CHECK IT OUT.
WE HAVE SOME DOUGH HERE AND WE
HAVE SOME STUFF, JAM, CHOCOLATE
SPREAD, CHEESE.
SHOULD WE PUT SOME OF THIS IN
THE MIDDLE OF THE DOUGH?
Jordan answers,
LET’S PUT ALL OF IT INSIDE!
Laura and Matt shout, ALL OF IT INSIDE!
Matt adds,
YOU DON'T HAVE TO TELL ME TWICE
THAT SOUNDS AWESOME.
Laura says,
I LOVE IT. OK SO I’M GOING TO ADD
SOME JAM RIGHT INTO THE MIDDLE
AND I AM GOING TO TAKE JORDAN'S
ADVICE, I WILL ADD THE CHOCOLATE
SPREAD AS WELL.
AND WHILE WE ARE DOING THIS,
JORDAN, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT IS
IT THAT YOU LOVE ABOUT COOKING?
Jordan answers,
I LOVE TO EAT IT.
I ALSO, ALSO IT'S SUPER FUN.
Matt replies,
AH. I TOTALLY AGREE. I LOVE
COOKING. HEY, JORDAN, WHAT DO
YOU LIKE TO EAT FOR BREAKFAST?
Jordan states, I LIKE TO EAT TOAST.
Laura and Matt repeat, TOAST!
Laura adds,
YES! SO CLASSIC. I LOVE TOAST
IN THE MORNING AS WELL. OKAY,
MATT, I FEEL LIKE WE SHOULD
MAYBE START ROLLING THESE UP.
IS THAT RIGHT?
Matt responds,
YEAH TOTALLY! JORDAN, WE HAVE
THE DOUGH AND THE INGREDIENTS
PLACED IN THERE.
SO WE ROLL IT UP, IS THAT RIGHT?
Jordan says, IT IS RIGHT.
[Laughter]
Laura and Matt repeat, IT IS RIGHT!
Laura asks,
MATT, WHAT SIDE ARE YOU
STARTING TO ROLL FROM?
Matt says,
I’M STARTING FROM THE
SMALL SIDE. IS THAT RIGHT?
JORDAN? ROLL FROM THE SMALL
SIDE? I AM GOING FOR IT.
Laura adds,
YES, I AM GOING TO GO FOR IT,
TOO. THIS IS ACTUALLY REALLY
FUN. YOU ARE RIGHT JORDAN!
Laura and Matt roll up ingredients in the crescent roll dough.
Matt states,
OK, AND THEN I ROLLED MINE UP AND
I GUESS FROM THERE WE WOULD
JUST POP THEM IN THE OVEN.
TO MAKE IT A LITTLE EASIER WE
DIDN'T WANT YOU GUYS TO HAVE TO
WAIT FOR THEM TO BAKE.
WE MADE SOME IN ADVANCE.
WHEN THEY ARE ALL FINISHED THIS
IS HOW THEY TURN OUT.
Matt pulls a tray of four baked crescent rolls out of an oven. One is stuffed with a hot dog.
Laura says, WHOA!
Matt adds,
OK SO WE DID SOME WITH A
HOTDOG. WE DID THE NUTELLA
ONE. I THINK THIS ONE HAS JAM
IN IT AND THIS ONE HAS CHEESE.
SO I THINK WE SHOULD TAKE A
BITE. WHAT DO YOU SAY, JORDAN?
Jordan nods.
He replies, YES.
Laura asks,
OK, AND JORDAN, WHAT IS THE
THING THAT YOU ALWAYS SAY ON
YOUR SHOW? YOU GO WHOA!
Jordan waves.
He responds, WHOA! CHECK IT OUT!
Laura and Matt repeat,
WHOA, CHECK IT OUT! CHEERS!
Laura and Matt take a bite of their crescent rolls. Laura puts her hand over her mouth.
Laura says,
OKAY, THIS IS REALLY GOOD.
JORDAN, NOW YOU DO A LOT OF
COOKING WITH YOUR DAD, RIGHT?
THAT IS AWESOME.
Jordan answers, YES.
Laura responds,
OK, WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT
COOKING WITH YOUR DAD?
Jordan replies,
IT'S FUN AND HE IS FUNNY.
Matt laughs.
Laura adds,
HE IS FUNNY, RIGHT! THAT'S
REALLY COOL.
Matt states,
I ALSO LOVE COOKING
WITH MY DAD.
MY DAD IS AN AWESOME CHEF.
SO WHEN I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS I
ALWAYS FEEL LIKE IT'S JUST LIKE
ME COOKING WITH MY DAD. AND
JORDAN, I HAVE A BIG FAVOUR TO
ASK YOU. DO YOU MIND STICKING
AROUND? WE ARE GOING TO SHOW
YOU SOME REALLY, REALLY CUTE
VIDEOS AND YOU WILL RATE THEM
OUT OF TEN FOR HOW CUTE THEY
ARE. HOW DOES THAT SOUND?
Jordan answers, OKAY.
Matt says,
LET'S SEE THE CHAMPION.
Text reads, “CHAMPION”
A chipmunk eats a peanut on top of a brown box. A sign on the box reads, “Vote”
Matt states,
SO JORDAN GOT A LITTLE CHIPMUNK
WHO IS JUST AS HUNGRY AS I AM
CHOMPING AWAY. THIS GUY HAS WON
A BUNCH OF TIMES. WHAT WOULD YOU
GIVE THIS CHIPMUNK OUT OF TEN FOR
CUTENESS?
Jordan answers, TEN OUT OF TEN.
Laura and Matt repeat, TEN OUT OF TEN!
Laura adds,
REALLY GOOD FOR THAT CHIPMUNK.
BUT LET'S SEE HOW IT DOES UP
AGAINST THE CHALLENGER.
Text reads, “CHALLENGER”
A monkey sits at a dining room table eating cereal spread out on the table. An orange cat stands on the table and watches it.
Laura says, OK…
[Laughing]
Matt adds,
A GREEDY LITTLE MONKEY NOT SHARING
THEIR BREAKFAST CEREAL WITH THEIR
CAT FRIEND.
Jordan laughs.
Laura says,
YEAH, THIS ONE IS PRETTY
FUNNY I WOULD SAY.
Matt asks,
HOW CUTE IS THIS VIDEO TO YOU
JORDAN OUT OF TEN?
Jordan tilts his head and smirks.
Matt adds,
YOU HAVE TO THINK ABOUT THAT.
Jordan’s video cuts out.
Jordan says, MAYBE IT IS--
Laura asks, JORDAN, WHERE ARE
YOU?
Jordan’s video reappears.
Laura responds,
OH! JORDAN, YOU ARE STILL THERE.
OKAY JORDAN, WHICH ONE DO YOU
LIKE BETTER?
DO YOU LIKE THE CHIPMUNK OR THE
MONKEY EATING BREAKFAST CEREAL?
Jordan answers, I LIKE THE CHIPMUNK.
Laura and Matt repeat, THE CHIPMUNK!
Matt adds,
THE CHIPMUNK WINS AGAIN! OUR
CHAMPION REMAINS THE CHAMPION
JORDAN, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR
COMING TO HANG OUT WITH US.
IT REALLY WAS SO COOL TO GET TO
MEET YOU. AND KEEP ON COOKIN'!
[Applause]
Jordan replies, THANK YOU.
Laura says,
THANK YOU, JORDAN! BYE!
Laura and Matt wave to Jordan. His video disappears.
Laura states,
THAT WAS SO COOL TO HAVE EASY
PEASY JORDAN ON THE SHOW.
Matt responds,
THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME
TO EASY PEASY JORDAN. I’M SUCH
A BIG FAN.
Laura replies,
OF COURSE. AND IT REALLY DID
HELP US FINISH THIS.
Matt adds,
THAT’S TRUE. SOMEBODY HAD TO.
[Bell rings]
Laura says, AN EMAIL!
Matt repeats, AN EMAIL.
Laura shouts,
THAT MEANS IT'S TIME FOR...
Laura and Matt shout, WHOA!
They shake as the Treehouse rumbles.
Text reads, “We need to Know”
Laura says,
WE NEED TO KNOW OKAY CHECK IT
OUT THAT MEANS WE GOT AN EMAIL.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AND SEE WHAT IT
SAYS. OKAY, THIS IS FROM NAZILA
AGE SEVEN. WHY ARE SOME
PANCAKES FLUFFY? MM-HMM!
THAT'S A REALLY GOOD QUESTION.
Matt replies,
WELL, I PERSONALLY
LIKE MY PANCAKES FLAT.
Laura asks,
REALLY? BECAUSE I TOTALLY LIKE
MY PANCAKES FLUFFY.
Matt adds,
WELL, FLAT IS OBVIOUSLY THE
SUPERIOR CHOICE, I MEAN, C'MON.
Laura responds,
WELL EVERYBODY LIKES A FLUFFY
PANCAKE. I THINK WE SHOULD
SOLVE THIS IN OUR OTHER KITCHEN.
Matt says,
GREAT IDEA. LET'S GO TO THE
OTHER KITCHEN.
Laura and Matt leave the Treehouse. They walk into a kitchen. Pancake ingredients and a mixing bowl sit on a purple table in front of Laura and Matt. A blonde-haired woman wearing a black and grey sweater watches them over a video.
Matt says,
OKAY. HERE WE ARE IN THE
OTHER KITCHEN. CHARLOTTE,
THE SCIENTIST IS HERE.
PERFECT TIMING. CHARLOTTE,
YOU GOT TO SETTLE THIS FOR
US. I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLAT.
Text reads, “Charlotte, Scientist”
Laura adds,
AND I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLUFFY.
WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE BEST?
Charlotte responds,
I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLUFFY
BECAUSE IT'S HOW MY DAD MAKES
THEM.
Laura replies,
I LOVE IT. BUT HERE IS THE TRUE
QUESTION. WE WANT TO KNOW
WHAT MAKES A PANCAKE FLUFFY
AND WHAT MAKES A PANCAKE FLAT.
LIKE HOW DO YOU GET IT TO TURN
OUT WHICHEVER WAY?
Charlotte states,
YEAH, THERE’S A LOT OF SCIENCE
THAT GOES INTO MAKING PANCAKES.
BAKING POWDER WHICH IS ONE OF
THE INGREDIENTS IN PANCAKES IS
WHAT MAKES THEM FLUFFY.
AND BAKING SODA IS USED IN SOME
OTHER RECIPES BUT THAT'S
NORMALLY WHEN YOU WANT COOKIES
TO SPREAD. SAME AS POWDER PUFFS.
AND WE WANT OUR PANCAKES TO BE
NICE AND FLUFFY.
THERE IS AN INGREDIENT CALLED
SODIUM BICARBONATE IN BAKING
POWDER AND WHEN IT REACTS WITH
SOMETHING ACIDIC IN THE BATTER
IT MAKES A CHEMICAL REACTION
AND PRODUCES ALL THESE LITTLE
BUBBLES WHICH MAKES A PUFFY
PANCAKE.
Laura replies,
OK, SO YOU’RE TELLING ME WHEN I
EAT A FLUFFY PANCAKE I AM
ACTUALLY JUST EATING A BUNCH
OF LITTLE BUBBLES?
Charlotte nods.
She answers,
YEP, A BUNCH OF LITTLE
BUBBLES OF CARBON DIOXIDE.
Laura responds,
THAT'S REALLY COOL. OK, SO
I’VE GOT THE BAKING POWDER BECAUSE
I'M THE ONE WHO LIKES FLUFFY
PANCAKES BUT I WANT TO KNOW DOES
THIS CHECK OUT AND WORK IN OTHER
RECIPES, TOO, OR IS IT JUST
PANCAKES?
Charlotte answers,
YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.
ANYTHING THAT USES BAKING POWDER
OR BAKING SODA IF YOU ADD MORE
OF IT YOU WILL GET A PUFFIER
INGREDIENT AND IF YOU ADD LESS
OF IT THEN IT WILL BE THINNER.
Laura says,
COOL. SO I CAN MAKE A REALLY
FLUFFY BIRTHDAY CAKE OR CUPCAKE
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?
Charlotte replies, ABSOLUTELY.
Matt asks,
WHAT ABOUT SCRAMBLED
EGGS? WILL IT WORK FOR THAT?
Charlotte shakes her head.
Laura says,
I DON'T KNOW IF WE WILL PUT
BAKING POWDER IN THE SCRAMBLED
EGGS. BUT I DO THINK I WILL CARRY
THIS AROUND WITH ME IF I EVER WANT
TO MAKE A CAKE.
Laura holds a container of baking powder.
Matt says,
AND YOU KEEP THAT FAR
AWAY FROM MY PANCAKES BECAUSE I
WANT MINE FLAT.
Laura adds,
FAIR ENOUGH. BUT WE SHOULD
PROBABLY CHECK OUT AND SEE IF
THIS WORKS.
Matt responds,
ABSOLUTELY. JUST LIKE BEFORE WE DID
A VERSION AND WE FOLLOWED ALL OF
CHARLOTTE'S INSTRUCTIONS.
THESE VERSIONS ARE NICE AND FLAT
BECAUSE WE DIDN'T PUT ANY BAKING
SODA OR POWDER IN THEM.
Laura says,
LOOK AND MINE HAD LOTS OF
BAKING POWDER IN THEM AND THEY’RE
SUPER FLUFFY. THIS IS AMAZING.
THANKS TO CHARLOTTE THE
SCIENTIST FOR HELPING US OUT
WITH THAT.
Matt adds,
THANKS, CHARLOTTE.
GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE.
Charlotte waves.
Laura says, THANKS CHARLOTTE.
Matt states,
PANCAKES. THEY JUST MAKE ME
WANT TO SING AND I AM NOT THE
ONLY ONE. MY GOOD BUDDY DANA
DEAN PHOENIX WROTE A SONG ALL
ABOUT BREAKFAST FOR US. WANT
TO HEAR IT?
Laura replies, UH, DUH!
Matt says, OK, CHECK IT OUT.
Dana Dean Phoenix plays a keyboard in front of two houseplants and a neon pink light on the wall. Her blonde hair lays on her black leather jacket. Matt and Laura wear pancake and waffle costumes and black sunglasses as they dance on a plate laying on the keyboard. Dana yawns as she stretches out her arms.
[Electronic music]
Dana says,
THAT WAS A GREAT SLEEP.
NOW I’M SO HUNGRY.
TIME FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL
OF THE DAY.
Dana sings,
ARE YOU REALLY, REALLY HUNGRY
FOR SOME FOOD TO START YOUR DAY?
IT IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT TO EAT
SOME YUMMY FOOD SO WE CAN PLAY.
THERE ARE SO MANY FOODS THAT
WE CAN HAVE TO START THE DAY
FOR ENERGY.
HELPS US PLAY IN MY BALLET
GET OUT OF BED AND NOW MY
TUMMY IT IS RUMBLING
GOT TO EAT BEFORE I GET TO
SCHOOL. SO HUNGRY.
IT'S TIME FOR ME TO CHOOSE
WHAT I EAT FOR BREAKY
TO GIVE ME ENERGY AND FUEL
I'M DROOLING.
HAVE SOME PANCAKES AND A
LITTLE SIDE OF BACON
WITH MAPLE SYRUP DRIZZLED
ON. SO YUMMY
OR SCRAMBLED EGGS A BOWL OF
OATMEAL AND SOME HONEY
AND LOTS OF FRUIT FOR EXTRA
FUN COME JOIN ME
I AM REALLY, REALLY HUNGRY FOR
SOME FOOD TO START YOUR DAY
IT'S REALLY, REALLY GREAT TO
EAT SOME YUMMY FOOD SO WE CAN
PLAY.
BREAKFAST IS THE MOST
IMPORTANT MEAL TO START THE DAY
FOR ENERGY
HELPS US PLAY IN MY BALLET
SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO HAVE THEIR
BREAKFAST WITH A COFFEE
OR SOMETHING SWEET LIKE ORANGE
JUICE. SO THIRSTY
WHILE WATCHING TV OR JUST
HANGING WITH THE FAMILY
READING THE PAPER SPORTS AND
NEWS. GOOD COMPANY
WHEN I FINISHED I FEEL FULL
AND OH, SO HAPPY
WITH ENERGY TO LEARN AND
PLAY. JUST WATCH ME
NOW I CAN'T WAIT TO ASK MY
FRIENDS WHAT THEY HAD
SO NEXT TIME I CAN HAVE THE SAME
I’M SINGING
ARE YOU REALLY, REALLY HAPPY I
HAD FOOD TO START MY DAY
IT IS REALLY, REALLY GREAT TO
EAT SOME YUMMY FOOD SO WE CAN
PLAY. BREAKFAST IS THE MOST
IMPORTANT MEAL TO START THE DAY
FOR ENERGY
HELPS US PLAY IN MY BALLET
SO YUMMY!
Dana says,
NOW THAT WAS A GOOD BREAKFAST.
Dana, Laura, and Matt dance.
Matt and Laura return to the Treehouse.
Matt says,
THAT PANCAKE AND THAT WAFFLE
WERE AMAZING AT DANCING. IS IT
JUST ME?
Laura replies,
YEAH, NO. THEY WERE DOING A REALLY
GOOD JOB.
Matt adds,
I MEAN ALL DANCING ASIDE.
Laura says, AMAZING!
Matt responds,
PANCAKES AND WAFFLES ARE NOT THE
ONLY BREAKFAST FOOD OUT THERE.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Laura replies, ACTUALLY, I DIDN'T.
Matt states,
YEAH, DIFFERENT PEOPLE EAT
DIFFERENT THINGS ALL OVER THE
WORLD LIKE SILOG.
Laura asks, WHAT'S SILOG?
Matt explains,
SILOG IS A TYPE OF FILIPINO
BREAKFAST FOOD THAT INCLUDES
A FRIED EGG AND SOME FRIED RICE.
IT'S COMMON TO SWITCH UP THE
COMBINATIONS AND CREATE ALL
DIFFERENT KINDS OF SILOGS LIKE
HOTDOG SILOG, SILOG WITH HOTDOG.
SPAM SILOG, SILOG WITH SPAM, AND
CHIKSILOG WITH FRIED CHICKEN
AND THE BEST PART IS WE HAVE
SOME HERE TODAY.
Laura says, WHAT? YOU’RE KIDDING!
Matt responds,
LOOK, LOOK UNDER THE DESK, GIRL.
Laura and Matt look under the desk.
Laura asks,
OH MY GOODNESS. WHERE DID
YOU GET THIS FROM?
Matt replies,
OUR FRIENDS AT LA MEZZA MADE
IT JUST FOR US. YOU CAN SEE
WE HAVE THE GARLIC RICE, WE HAVE
THE FRIED EGG, A PAPAYA AND
CARROT, SALADS, CUCUMBERS AND
TOMATOES AND FRIED CHICKEN AND
YOU HAVE LIMPIA WHICH IS A
PHILIPPINE SPRING ROLL.
Laura cuts into a piece of fried chicken.
Laura adds,
IT LOOKS SO YUMMY.
I AM GOING TO DIG IN.
Matt says, ME TOO.
Matt takes a bite of his Silog.
Laura says,
MATT, THIS IS MAYBE
THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER.
Laura takes a bite of her Silog.
Matt responds,
OH, IT'S SO SO GOOD. THE
CHICKEN IS CRUNCHY. THE GARLIC
RICE IS A LITTLE BIT CRISPY, TOO,
AND GARLICKY. THE TANGY POP
FROM THE PAPAYA. HMM.
I LOVE IT. SEE, I TOLD YOU YOU
WOULDN'T GO HUNGRY TODAY.
Laura replies,
YOU’RE RIGHT, BREAKFAST IS THE
BEST MEAL OF THE DAY BUT I AM
REALLY FULL.
Matt asks,
WELL, GUESS WHAT IS NEXT?
Laura replies, WHAT?
Matt states,
DINNER.
TVOKIDS THANKS FOR HANGING
OUT WITH US TODAY.
Laura adds, SEE YOU LATER
Matt says, STAY HUNGRY.

US. I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLAT.
Text reads, “Charlotte, Scientist”
Laura adds,
AND I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLUFFY.
WHICH ONE DO YOU LIKE BEST?
Charlotte responds,
I LIKE MY PANCAKES FLUFFY
BECAUSE IT'S HOW MY DAD MAKES
THEM.
Laura replies,
I LOVE IT. BUT HERE IS THE TRUE
QUESTION. WE WANT TO KNOW
WHAT MAKES A PANCAKE FLUFFY
AND WHAT MAKES A PANCAKE FLAT.
LIKE HOW DO YOU GET IT TO TURN
OUT WHICHEVER WAY?
Charlotte states,
YEAH, THERE’S A LOT OF SCIENCE
THAT GOES INTO MAKING PANCAKES.
BAKING POWDER WHICH IS ONE OF
THE INGREDIENTS IN PANCAKES IS
WHAT MAKES THEM FLUFFY.
AND BAKING SODA IS USED IN SOME
OTHER RECIPES BUT THAT'S
NORMALLY WHEN YOU WANT COOKIES
TO SPREAD. SAME AS POWDER PUFFS.
AND WE WANT OUR PANCAKES TO BE
NICE AND FLUFFY.
THERE IS AN INGREDIENT CALLED
SODIUM BICARBONATE IN BAKING
POWDER AND WHEN IT REACTS WITH
SOMETHING ACIDIC IN THE BATTER
IT MAKES A CHEMICAL REACTION
AND PRODUCES ALL THESE LITTLE
BUBBLES WHICH MAKES A PUFFY
PANCAKE.
Laura replies,
OK, SO YOU’RE TELLING ME WHEN I
EAT A FLUFFY PANCAKE I AM
ACTUALLY JUST EATING A BUNCH
OF LITTLE BUBBLES?
Charlotte nods.
She answers,
YEP, A BUNCH OF LITTLE
BUBBLES OF CARBON DIOXIDE.
Laura responds,
THAT'S REALLY COOL. OK, SO
I’VE GOT THE BAKING POWDER BECAUSE
I'M THE ONE WHO LIKES FLUFFY
PANCAKES BUT I WANT TO KNOW DOES
THIS CHECK OUT AND WORK IN OTHER
RECIPES, TOO, OR IS IT JUST
PANCAKES?
Charlotte answers,
YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.
ANYTHING THAT USES BAKING POWDER
OR BAKING SODA IF YOU ADD MORE
OF IT YOU WILL GET A PUFFIER
INGREDIENT AND IF YOU ADD LESS
OF IT THEN IT WILL BE THINNER.
Laura says,
COOL. SO I CAN MAKE A REALLY
FLUFFY BIRTHDAY CAKE OR CUPCAKE
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT?
Charlotte replies, ABSOLUTELY.
Matt asks,
WHAT ABOUT SCRAMBLED
EGGS? WILL IT WORK FOR THAT?
Charlotte shakes her head.
Laura says,
I DON'T KNOW IF WE WILL PUT
BAKING POWDER IN THE SCRAMBLED
EGGS. BUT I DO THINK I WILL CARRY
THIS AROUND WITH ME IF I EVER WANT
TO MAKE A CAKE.
Laura holds a container of baking powder.
Matt says,
AND YOU KEEP THAT FAR
AWAY FROM MY PANCAKES BECAUSE I
WANT MINE FLAT.
Laura adds,
FAIR ENOUGH. BUT WE SHOULD
PROBABLY CHECK OUT AND SEE IF
THIS WORKS.
Matt responds,
ABSOLUTELY. JUST LIKE BEFORE WE DID
A VERSION AND WE FOLLOWED ALL OF
CHARLOTTE'S INSTRUCTIONS.
THESE VERSIONS ARE NICE AND FLAT
BECAUSE WE DIDN'T PUT ANY BAKING
SODA OR POWDER IN THEM.
Laura says,
LOOK AND MINE HAD LOTS OF
BAKING POWDER IN THEM AND THEY’RE
SUPER FLUFFY. THIS IS AMAZING.
THANKS TO CHARLOTTE THE
SCIENTIST FOR HELPING US OUT
WITH THAT.
Matt adds,
THANKS, CHARLOTTE.
GREAT TO HAVE YOU HERE.
Charlotte waves.
Laura says, THANKS CHARLOTTE.
Matt states,
PANCAKES. THEY JUST MAKE ME
WANT TO SING AND I AM NOT THE
ONLY ONE. MY GOOD BUDDY DANA
DEAN PHOENIX WROTE A SONG ALL
ABOUT BREAKFAST FOR US. WANT
TO HEAR IT?
Laura replies, UH, DUH!
Matt says, OK, CHECK IT OUT.
Dana Dean Phoenix plays a keyboard in front of two houseplants and a neon pink light on the wall. Her blonde hair lays on her black leather jacket. Matt and Laura wear pancake and waffle costumes and black sunglasses as they dance on a plate laying on the keyboard. Dana yawns as she stretches out her arms.

Dana, Laura, and Matt dance.
Matt and Laura return to the Treehouse.
Matt says,
THAT PANCAKE AND THAT WAFFLE
WERE AMAZING AT DANCING. IS IT
JUST ME?
Laura replies,
YEAH, NO. THEY WERE DOING A REALLY
GOOD JOB.
Matt adds,
I MEAN ALL DANCING ASIDE.
Laura says, AMAZING!
Matt responds,
PANCAKES AND WAFFLES ARE NOT THE
ONLY BREAKFAST FOOD OUT THERE.
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Laura replies, ACTUALLY, I DIDN'T.
Matt states,
YEAH, DIFFERENT PEOPLE EAT
DIFFERENT THINGS ALL OVER THE
WORLD LIKE SILOG.
Laura asks, WHAT'S SILOG?
Matt explains,
SILOG IS A TYPE OF FILIPINO
BREAKFAST FOOD THAT INCLUDES
A FRIED EGG AND SOME FRIED RICE.
IT'S COMMON TO SWITCH UP THE
COMBINATIONS AND CREATE ALL
DIFFERENT KINDS OF SILOGS LIKE
HOTDOG SILOG, SILOG WITH HOTDOG.
SPAM SILOG, SILOG WITH SPAM, AND
CHIKSILOG WITH FRIED CHICKEN
AND THE BEST PART IS WE HAVE
SOME HERE TODAY.
Laura says, WHAT? YOU’RE KIDDING!
Matt responds,
LOOK, LOOK UNDER THE DESK, GIRL.
Laura and Matt look under the desk.
Laura asks,
OH MY GOODNESS. WHERE DID
YOU GET THIS FROM?
Matt replies,
OUR FRIENDS AT LA MEZZA MADE
IT JUST FOR US. YOU CAN SEE
WE HAVE THE GARLIC RICE, WE HAVE
THE FRIED EGG, A PAPAYA AND
CARROT, SALADS, CUCUMBERS AND
TOMATOES AND FRIED CHICKEN AND
YOU HAVE LIMPIA WHICH IS A
PHILIPPINE SPRING ROLL.
Laura cuts into a piece of fried chicken.
Laura adds,
IT LOOKS SO YUMMY.
I AM GOING TO DIG IN.
Matt says, ME TOO.
Matt takes a bite of his Silog.
Laura says,
MATT, THIS IS MAYBE
THE BEST BREAKFAST EVER.
Laura takes a bite of her Silog.
Matt responds,
OH, IT'S SO SO GOOD. THE
CHICKEN IS CRUNCHY. THE GARLIC
RICE IS A LITTLE BIT CRISPY, TOO,
AND GARLICKY. THE TANGY POP
FROM THE PAPAYA. HMM.

Laura replies,

BEST MEAL OF THE DAY BUT I AM
REALLY FULL.
Matt asks,

Laura replies, WHAT?
Matt states,
DINNER.
TVOKIDS THANKS FOR HANGING
