Laura folds the circles of tissue paper circles in half.

Laura cuts two slits in the middle of the folded end of the tissue paper circles. Matt hands her a pipe cleaner.

Laura unfolds the tissue paper circles and pushes the pipe cleaner through the hole made in the centre of the tissue paper by the slits.

Matt holds a strawberry that’s been dipped in white chocolate. The strawberry already has two black eyes. Matt paints a smile on the strawberry with a thin paintbrush he dips in a bowl of food colouring.

Laura says, OKAY, CHECK IT OUT,

AS YOU SAW ON INDIE'S OFRENDA
THEY HAD SOME MARIGOLDS THERE
BECAUSE THESE ARE REALLY BRIGHT
FLOWERS THAT ARE SAID TO
ACTUALLY ATTRACT THE SPIRITS OF
YOUR LOVED ONES TO COME AND HANG
OUT WITH YOU.
Laura holds crafted marigolds.
Matt says, OOH!
Laura says, SO WE ARE GONNA MAKE THEM
HERE.
ALL YOU NEED ARE SOME CIRCLES OF
TISSUE PAPER.
Laura says, SO I’VE GOT SOME YELLOW AND ORANGE
TISSUE PAPER.
Matt says, OKAY.
Matt grabs a pipe-cleaner. Laura holds circles of yellow and orange tissue paper.
Laura says, AND I’M JUST GOING TO FOLD THEM
IN HALF LIKE THIS.
Laura folds the circles of tissue paper circles in half.
She says, OKAY.
PRETTY SIMPLE SO FAR.
YOU’RE GONNA CUT TWO LITTLE SLITS
AND THEN YOU WILL USE A PIPE
CLEANER TO GO THROUGH THEM.
Laura cuts two slits in the middle of the folded end of the tissue paper circles. Matt hands her a pipe cleaner.
Laura says, PRETTY AWESOME.
Laura unfolds the tissue paper circles and pushes the pipe cleaner through the hole made in the centre of the tissue paper by the slits.
Laura says, MATT, WHAT'S GOING ON OVER
THERE?
Matt says, OKAY.
THAT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL.
Laura says MM-HMM.
Matt says, AND TVOKIDS, YOU KNOW I LOVE
THE SUGAR SKULLS AND THIS
IS TAKING SUGAR SKULLS TO THE
NEXT LEVEL.
WE’VE GOT WHITE CHOCOLATE-DIPPED
STRAWBERRIES AND FOOD COLOURING
AND A LITTLE PAINT
BRUSH.
AND WHAT WE’RE GONNA DO IS PAINT SOME
BEAUTIFUL SUGAR SKULL DESIGNS
RIGHT ON.
Matt holds a strawberry that’s been dipped in white chocolate. The strawberry already has two black eyes. Matt paints a smile on the strawberry with a thin paintbrush he dips in a bowl of food colouring.
Laura says, SO COOL.
AND CHECK IT OUT, TVOKIDS, ONCE
YOU'VE GOT YOUR TISSUE PAPER
FOLDED INTO THE PIPE CLEANER ALL
YOU HAVE TO DO IS START FANNING
IT UP.
IT'S REALLY, REALLY SIMPLE.
JUST LIKE THAT.
Laura gently scrunches up the individual layers of tissue paper on the pipe cleaner.
She says, PUSH THEM ALL UP, KIND OF
SEPARATE THEM AND THEN YOU’RE
LEFT WITH THIS REALLY, REALLY
COOL LOOKING FLOWER!
Laura holds out two of the crafted flowers that look like marigolds.
Laura says, I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Matt says, THAT IS ABSOLUTELY
BEAUTIFUL.
AND TVOKIDS, WHEN YOU ARE DONE
DOING YOUR BEAUTIFUL PAINTING, I
GOT TO GET NICE UP AND CLOSE
HERE TO SHOW YOU.
Matt holds up a plate with two chocolate dipped strawberries with sugar skulls painted on them. On one white chocolate dipped strawberry a skull is painted in red, the other in blue.
Laura says, WHOA!
Matt says, THAT IS WHAT YOUR
SUGAR SKULLS WILL LOOK LIKE.
Laura says, THOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Matt says, YES!
