Tom walks through a house in pajamas.

He says, GOOD MORNING,
JUST GOING TO THE BATHROOM.

Delia steps into a bathroom just as Tom arrives. Delia slams the door closed and Tom’s eyes widen. He groans.

Tom says, MY SISTER DELIA
CAN BE VERY ANNOYING.
HERE'S MY TOP FIVE WAYS
DELIA ANNOYS ME.

(Playful music plays)

Text reads, number 5.

Tom says, AT FIVE WHEN SHE GOES TO THE
BATHROOM BEFORE ME.

Delia slams the bathroom door in Tom’s face .

Tom says, OBVIOUSLY.

Delia slams the bathroom door closed a second, third and fourth time. A fifth time, Tom nearly reaches the bathroom first, but Delia rushes inside, leaving Tom shocked. Delia slams the door closed.

Tom says, OH, COME ON!
AT FOUR, IT'S GOT TO BE
MESSING UP MY HAIR.

Delia appears behind Tom.

She says, NICE HAIR, TOM.

Tom smiles. Delia messes up Tom’s hair and laughs. Tom frowns, fixes his hair and smiles. Delia’s hand slowly reaches towards Tom’s hair again.

Tom says, NUMBER THREE,
PRETENDING SHE CAN'T HEAR ME.

Tom looks up at Delia who reads a magazine.

Tom says, DELIA, DELIA, DELIA!

Delia slowly raises her magazine over her face.

Tom says, DELIA!

(Whistling)

Delia slightly lowers her magazine.

Tom says, NUMBER TWO,
TURNING OFF THE TV
WHEN I'M WATCHING
MY PROGRAMMES!

Tom lies on a couch. A hand with a remote reaches past the couch.

(Click)

Tom says, HEY!

Delia holds up the remote and smiles.

Tom says, AND AT NUMBER ONE,
BEING ALLERGIC TO PETS.
SO I CAN'T HAVE ONE.

Tom looks over the fence between his, and his friend Derek’s house. He watches Derek’s dog rooster. Delia sneezes.

She says, ACHOO!

Tom frowns.

Tom says, BUT WHEN DELIA
IS REALLY ANNOYING ME.
I PLAY THE GOOD
OLD WAFER TRICK ON HER.

(Playful music plays)

On a table is a plate with a wafer. Delia walks up to the table and pauses. She puts her hands on her hips as she looks down at the plate.

(Whistling)

Delia looks around her and smiles. She grabs the wafer, but it’s only the wrapper.

Delia yells, TOM!

A cloud appears over Delia as Tom joins his sister.

He says, EVERY TIME!

(Upbeat music plays)

Tom says, PLAY IT!

(Joyful music plays)

Tom asks, CAN YOU SPOT THE EMPTY
WAFER WRAPPER?

An arrow points to an unfolded, empty wafer wrapper. The wrapper folds together to look like a normal, wrapped wafer.

Tom says, HERE WE GO.

Two other wafers appear. The three wafers move around and change positions.

Tom says, KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED.
OH, OH. WHICH ONE IS IT?

The wafers lie side by side with arrows pointing to them.

Tom says, HAHA! DID YOU SPOT IT?

The wafer on the right crumbles, revealing empty wrapping.

Tom says, IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY,
THERE ARE A COUPLE OF CLUES.
REWIND, PLEASE.

(Rewinding sound)

The wafers return to the positions they started in.

Tom says, THERE’S A LITTLE
DENT ON THE ONE
THAT ISN'T FULL
OF YUMMY CHOCOLATE
AND A LITTLE CURL ON THE WRAPPER
WHERE I WRAPPED IT BACK UP.

Arrows point to the dent and curl on the empty wafer.

Tom says, A-HA! SEE?

The wafer wrapping crumbles.

(Playful music plays)

Tom says, AND THE BEST THING IS…

A wafer wrapping is unfolded revealing a chocolate wafer.

Tom says, …YOU GET TO EAT THE WAFER INSIDE.

(Eating noises)

The wafer disappears in pieces.

(Arcade music plays)

A bug runs with a wafer.

Tom says, IT'S TIME FOR
DRAW - IT!

(Bright music plays)

Tom says, IT'S LIZ, SHE WRITES AND DRAWS
ALL THE TOM GATES BOOKS.

A woman with long, brown hair and bangs wears a red shirt and sunglasses. She sits at a table with a drawing pad holding a pen.

She says, SO WHO DO
THESE REMIND YOU OF?

Liz points to her sunglasses.

She says, DELIA, TOM'S GRUMPY
TEENAGE SISTER.

Delia says, WHAT?

Liz says, I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU
HOW TO DRAW HER RIGHT NOW.
I'M GOING TO USE ONE OF THESE,
WHICH IS A BRUSH PEN.

Liz pulls the cap off her pen.

She says, BUT YOU CAN USE ANYTHING
YOU LIKE TO DRAW WITH.
SO LET'S START.
OH, HANG ON A SECOND,
I CAN'T SEE.

Liz smiles and removes her sunglasses.

She says, WOULD HELP, WOULDN'T IT?
THERE WE GO.

Liz sets aside her sunglasses.

She says, RIGHT.
LET'S START AND
DO SOME DRAWING NOW.

Liz draws on the pad.

She says, DELIA'S HEAD
IS LIKE AN OVAL SHAPE.

Liz draws an oval.

(Upbeat music plays)

Liz says, NOW, I'M GOING TO DRAW
THE SUNGLASSES LIKE THAT.
OK. I'M GOING TO COLOUR IN
AND LEAVE A LITTLE
TINY BIT OF WHITE.
SO IT LOOKS LIKE THE LIGHT IS
SHINING ON TIT, LIKE THAT.

Liz adds sunglasses to an oval. She colours in the sunglasses, leaving a line of white on each shade.

She says, AND DO HER EARS.

Liz adds ears.

She says, AND SHE'S SORT
OF GOT STRAGGLY HER.

In a time lapse, Liz adds Delia’s hair.

Liz says, LIKE THAT.
SHE'S ALWAYS SORT
OF SLUMPED OVER.

Liz laughs as she works on her drawing.

She says, SO, I'M GOING TO START
HER SHOULDER UP HERE,
ALL THE WAY DOWN
SO THAT MAKES HER
LOOK LIKE SHE'S LEANING OVER.
ONCE ASKED ME,
HOW DOES SHE KEEP HER SUNGLASSES
ON IF SHE DOESN'T HAVE A NOSE?

Liz smiles.

She says, THAT'S KIND
OF CALLED ARTISTIC LICENSE.

Tom says, LOVE IT.

Liz says, SO LET'S DRAW HER ARMS NOW.
AND SHE'S KIND OF,
LEANING OVER AGAIN.

Liz draws Delia’s arms.

She says, AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT
MAKING A MISTAKE EITHER.
ESPECIALLY WHEN
YOU'RE DOING HANDS,
I ALWAYS FIND HANDS
REALLY TRICKY.

Liz draws Delia’s hands. In a time lapse, Liz finishes a rough drawing of Delia.

Liz says, SO THERE'S DELIA
LOOKING VERY GRUMPY,
AND MUSTN'T FORGET THE CLOUD.

Liz draws a cloud over Delia.

Liz says, OBVIOUSLY, SHE DOESN'T REALLY
HAVE A CLOUD OVER HER HEAD.

Delia is frowning.

Liz says, ALL RIGHT, THAT'S DELIA.
ADD A LITTLE BIT
OF SHADOW UNDER HER ARMS.
LIKE THAT.

Liz adds extra lines of to parts of Delia that create the illusion of a shadow.

Liz says, NOW, I'M JUST GOING
TO DRAW A FRAME
ALL THE WAY AROUND,
IT KIND OF FITS THE DRAWING,
MAKES IT SIT NICELY
ON THE PAPER.

Liz draws a box over and around Delia. The box has two lines.

Liz says, AND NOW I'M GOING
TO DRAW A BIG ARROW.

Liz draws a large arrow pointing to Delia.

Liz says, IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW
WHO DELIA WAS.
YOU CAN COLOUR
THAT BIT IN IF YOU WANT TO,
I'M JUST GOING TO LEAVE MINE
BLACK AND WHITE FOR NOW.

Liz adds decorative details to her arrow.

She says, RIGHT. I THINK I'M GOING
TO ADD TOM AND TOM'S
GOING TO BE JUST PEERING
INTO THE DRAWING.

Tom says, AWESOME!

Liz draws Tom’s face.

Liz says, YOU CAN TELL IT'S TOM
BECAUSE OF HIS HAIR.

Liz adds a line of dots that lead from Tom to Delia.

Liz says, AND THOSE LITTLE DOTS.
JUST SHOWING,
HE'S JUST PEEKING AT HER.

Liz works on the dots.

She says, THERE YOU GO.
IF YOU WANT TO
YOU CAN CARRY ON THE PATTERN
ALL THE WAY AROUND.

Liz adds a pattern of lines to the lines that create the box around the drawing.

Liz says, THERE YOU HAVE IT.
THERE'S DELIA, THERE'S TOM'S
GRUMPY TEENAGE SISTER, DELIA.

Liz smiles. More clouds form around the drawing of Delia.

The Delia drawing says, WHATEVER!

Rain pours from the cloud drawings.

People sing, WELCOME

WITH GREASY HAIR.

Tom plays a guitar. Derek plays a piano. Another member of their band plays the drums.

Tom sings, YOU CAN T TRUST HER,
SHE’S NOT NICE.
SHE’S GOT NO HEART,
JUST A BLOCK OF ICE.

Delia repeatedly slams the bathroom door closed in front of Tom.

People sing, DELIA
SHE’S A WEIRDO,
DELIA SHE’S A GEEK,
DELIA SHE’S A WEIRDO,
SHE’S A GEEK!

Tom ‘s band plays their instruments.

Tom says, DELIA’S A GRUMPY MOOD.
DON’T LET HER STAND
NEXT TO YOU.
BIG BLACK GLASSES
HIDE HER EYES
SHE REALLY SMELLS.

People say, EWWW!

Tom says, AND THAT’S NO LIE!

A cloud pours rain over Delia.

People sing, DELIA
SHE’S A WEIRDO,
DELIA SHE’S A GEEK
DELIA, SHE’S A WEIRDO
SHE’S A GEEK!

Under her cloud, Delia looks annoyed. Tom and his friends pull on sunglasses that match Delia’s. A magazine is swapped out for a wafer on a table, which Delia grabs. Delia’s jaw drops when the wafer turns out to be empty. Tom pops up and laughs at Delia. Delia messes up Tom’s hair.

People sing, DELIA SHE’S A WEIRDO,
DELIA SHE’S A GEEK,
DELIA SHE’S A WEIRDO,
SHE’S A GEEK!

Tom’s band looks over to discover Delia playing her own instruments.

People sing, DELIA SHE’S A WEIRDO,

DELIA SHE’S A WEIRDO!
SHE S A GEEK!
