An animated ladybug lands on a flower beside Mandisa. A bus drives down a street as Mandisa walks down a path. Mandisa wears a fox hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and holds a cardboard robot. Mandisa smiles.

A title reads, Curious Crafting.

Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom. She wears a colourful headband and denim overalls over a brown shirt. Two children sit with her. One has long curly black hair in while the other has short black hair.

Mandisa says, I LOVE MAKING CRAFTS,
ESPECIALLY WHEN I GET TO DO...

(Digital chimes)

The long haired child asks, WHAT'S THAT NOISE?

Mandisa says, OH, I DON'T KNOW.
OH, MAYBE IT'S MY
FRIENDLY ROBOT.

Mandisa pulls out a robot craft. Lights flash on parts of the robot that look like buttons while digital tones play. The long haired child takes a closer look.

The child says, I'M GONNA EAT YOU,
HUM, HUM.

The short haired child asks, HOW DID YOU MAKE IT?

Mandisa says, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION.
HOW ABOUT WE MAKE ONE AND I CAN
SHOW YOU.
LET'S GET STARTED.

The short haired child says, YES!

Mandisa and the children leave the table. The children collect craft supplies.

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO PONY BEADS,
BUTTONS,
PAINT BRUSHES,
GOOGLY EYES,
CRAFT STICKS, FOAM SHAPES.
AND A CARDBOARD BOX.

Mandisa sits at the table with the children and their crafting supplies.

Mandisa says, NOW IT'S TIME TO PAINT OUR
ROBOT'S BODY.
WHAT CAN WE USE HERE FOR OUR
ROBOT'S BODY?

One of the children say, THESE, THESE.

The short haired child points to white cardboard boxes. The long haired child reaches for sponge brushes.

Mandisa says, YES, WE'LL USE THE
CARDBOARD BOXES
AND THE SPONGE BRUSHES.
WHAT COLOUR WOULD YOU
LIKE TO PAINT
YOUR ROBOT'S BODY?

The short haired child grabs a bowl of green paint.

The child says, WELL, I WANT GREEN.

Mandisa says, YOU WANT GREEN.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE?

The long haired child says, I WANT RED!

Mandisa says, OKAY, GREAT.

The short haired child starts painting a cardboard box green with a sponge brush.

Mandisa says, OH, NICE.

The long haired child paints their cardboard box with red paint.

Mandisa asks, IS RED YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

The long haired child says, YEAH.

In a timelapse, the children paint the rest of their boxes.

Mandisa says, NICE, WHAT DO YOU THINK
WE'RE GOING TO PAINT NEXT
COLLETTE?

Collette, the long haired child, says, WE'RE GOING TO
PAINT THE ARMS.

Collette points to the arms of Mandisa’s robot craft.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, THE ARMS AND
THE...

Mandisa points to another part of her robot.

The short haired child says, …LEG.

Mandisa says, SO WE'RE GOING TO NEED FIVE
CRAFT STICKS EACH
AND YOU'RE GOING TO PAINT
THOSE BLUE.

Mandisa hands the short haired child craft sticks.

Collette says, BLUEY.

Mandisa says, YEAH.

The short haired child paints their craft sticks with a sponge brush.

The child says, AND BLUEBERRIES.

The children paint their craft sticks in a timelapse.

Mandisa says, NOW, OUR ROBOT BODY IS DRY.
LET'S PUT IT TOGETHER.
WE'RE GOING TO SLIDE YOUR CRAFT
STICK INTO A LITTLE SLIT
THAT I CUT ON THE SIDE,
SLIDE YOUR CRAFT STICK INTO THE
LITTLE SLIT.

The children slide their painted craft sticks into the bottom of their painted cardboard boxes. Mandisa helps Collette.

Mandisa says, GOOD.

Collette says, THESE ARE THE ARMS.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.

The short haired child says, NOW I'M GOING TO DO
THE NEXT ONE.

Mandisa helps the short haired child slide another painted craft stick into their cardboard box.

Collette says, I'M ALL DONE.

Mandisa says, GOOD JOB.
WHAT SHOULD WE MAKE ON OUR
ROBOT NEXT?

Collette says, THIS ONE.

She points to Mandisa’s robot.

Collette says, THE FACE AND THE
BUTTONS.

Mandisa says, OK.
I HAVE A SQUARE PIECE OF FOAM
AND WE NEED SOME...

Mandisa brings out a bowl of craft supplies.

Collette cheers, …GOOGLY EYES!

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT,
YOU WANT TO CHOOSE TWO
GOOGLY EYES?

Collette says, YEAH.

The short haired child picks googly eyes from the bowl. Collette groans as she squeezes glue onto the backs of her googly eyes. The short haired child glues their googly eyes onto their square piece of blue foam. Mandisa chuckles.

She says, VANIER WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE
YOUR ROBOT A NOSE?

Collette says, I'M GOING TO GIVE MY
ROBOT A NOSE ALSO.

Mandisa says, OK, I'VE GOT SOME PONY BEADS,
FOAM SHAPES, BUTTONS.

Mandisa places the different craft supplies on the table.

Collette says, STICK IT ON.

Vanier, the short haired child, picks buttons from a bowl.

Collette says, MY ROBOT'S GOING TO
BE AWESOME.

Vanier glues black buttons to his foam square.

He says, DONE.

Mandisa asks, WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU PRESS
YOUR BUTTONS ON YOUR ROBOT?

Collette says, IT TALKS.

Mandisa asks, WHAT DOES YOUR ROBOT SAY?

Collette says, IT SAYS 'HELLO'.

Mandisa says, OK, COLLETTE, LET'S ADD SOME
FEET AND HANDS.

Vanier says, I WILL ADD FEET AND BUTTONS.

Collette and Vanier add more details to their robot crafts.

Mandisa says, GOOD JOB, THESE ROBOTS LOOK SO
AMAZING,
LET'S HOLD THEM UP.

Mandisa and the children hold up their robot crafts.

Collette says, DONE.

Vanier says, I DID IT.

Mandisa says, HELLO I'M GOING TO PRESS MY
SQUARE BUTTON.

Mandisa presses one of the foam squares on her robot.

Vanier says, WEEEE!

Mandisa says, I'M GOING TO TURN MY ROBOT OFF.

She presses another foam square and imitates her robot turning off.

She says, VMMMM.

Mandisa lowers her robot onto the table.
