A paper bag fox hops onto show host Mandisa’s hand. Mandisa has black hair held back by a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt. She stands against an animated background. A cardboard robot lands beside Mandisa. Mandisa holds the robot and smiles.
A title reads, Curious Crafting.
Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom. She wears a colourful headband with a white shirt under denim overalls. Children sit on either side of Mandisa. One of the children has brown braids and the other has short black hair. Mandisa holds two cardboard tube crafts.
Mandisa asks, WHO KNOWS WHAT BIRDS THESE ARE?
(Owl hooting)
The black haired child says, OWLS.
The brown haired child says, OWLS!
Mandisa asks, DO YOU GUYS WANT TO MAKE AN
OWL OF YOUR OWN?
The black haired child says, YEAH.
The brown haired child says, YEAH.
Mandisa says, OKAY.
A paint brush reveals supplies on the craft table. Mandisa picks up a cardboard tube.
She narrates, TO MAKE THIS CRAFT AT HOME,
GRAB A TOILET PAPER ROLL
AND PINCH THE SIDES AND FOLD THE
TOP IN.
TAKE SCISSORS AND MAKE A SLIT ON
THE BOTTOM.
Mandisa cuts a slit into the cardboard tube with the top folded in.
She narrates, SLIDE A PIECE OF YARN THROUGH
AND THEN WRAP IT ALL AROUND THE
TUBE.
Mandisa wraps rainbow yarn around the tube from the slit.
She narrates, SLIDE THE END OF THE YARN BACK
THROUGH THE SLIT.
She slides the yarn back through the slit. She spreads glue onto the back of a white paper circle.
Mandisa narrates, GLUE TWO LARGE BUTTONS TO TWO
WHITE CIRCLES
AND GLUE THOSE TO YOUR CARDBOARD
TUBE OWL.
She glues her button eyes above the rainbow yarn near the folded tip of the cardboard tube. She spreads glue on a yellow paper triangle
Mandisa narrates, GLUE ON A YELLOW BEAK.
She grabs a white feather.
She narrates, TUCK TWO FEATHERS UNDER THE YARN
FOR YOUR OWL'S WINGS.
Mandisa adds the feathers to her owl craft by the owls eyes.
She narrates, NOW YOUR OWLS READY TO FLY.
HOO, HOO.
A paint brush reveals the children with their owl crafts.
Mandisa says, WOW.
I LOVE THE COLOURS OF YOUR OWLS.
LET'S ALL SING LIKE OWLS.
Mandisa and the children sing, HOO, HOO.
They play with their owls.
