Transcript: How to: Paper Chain Snake
[Happy music plays]
Mandisa wears her long black hair pulled away from her face. She smiles as she holds up a cardboard robot and a paper bag decorated as a fox puppet. Text above her reads, “Curious Crafting.”
[Chimes]
Mandisa sits on a small stool at a small round table. She wears a blue long-sleeved shirt with blue denim blue overalls. A girl to her right wears her black hair in pigtails. She wears a long-sleeved yellow shirt. A boy to Mandisa’s left wears his red hair short. He wears a dark blue long-sleeved shirt.
[Upbeat music plays]
Mandisa says, I HAD AN IDEA
FOR A CRAFT TODAY, BUT I CAN'T
REMEMBER WHERE I LEFT IT.
A paper chain snake lowers beside Mandisa’s head.
[Rattling, hissing]
Mandisa says, OH, THERE IT IS.
THIS IS MY FRIEND SLITHER
THE SNAKE.
[Scraping, upbeat music plays]
Strips of pink and blue construction paper lie on a table in front of Mandisa. She curls a blue strip of paper into a circle.
She says, IF YOU WANT TO MAKE
THIS CRAFT AT HOME, CUT EIGHT
STRIPS, EACH OF TWO DIFFERENT
COLOURED CONSTRUCTION PAPER.
GLUE TOGETHER A CIRCLE WITH
ONE STRIP, GRAB ANOTHER AND
SLIDE IT THROUGH THE CIRCLE
TO CREATE ANOTHER CIRCLE.
CONTINUE ALTERNATING
COLOURS AS YOU GO.
GLUE GOOGLY EYES AND A RED
TONGUE TO A LARGE TRIANGLE.
GLUE THE TRIANGLE TO ONE END
OF YOUR SNAKE.
GLUE A SMALLER TRIANGLE TO THE
OTHER END AS THIS TAIL.
ADD FOAM SHAPES FOR DECORATION.
AND YOUR PAPER CHAIN SNAKE
IS COMPLETE.
[Scissors snip]
Mandisa, the girl with the pigtails and the red-haired boy play with paper chain snakes.
The girl says, IT IS MY BIRTHDAY.
The boy says, GUESS WHAT,
I FOUND SOME FOOD FOR US.
[Upbeat music plays]
End credits roll.
