Liz says, HI. LET'S SEE WHAT'S IN THE DOODLE BOX.
(Music playing)
Liz picks up a box decorated with Tom’s face and puts it on the table.
Liz says, OK, OPEN IT UP. GOT A PAIR OF RUBBER GLOVES...
Liz holds up yellow dish gloves.
Liz says, AND A PAPER CUP.
Tom says, HOW ABOUT THAT?!
Liz says, LET'S SEE WHAT WE CAN DO WITH THESE, SHALL WE? ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU GET PERMISSION TO DRAW ON ANYTHING. SO, I THINK I'M ONLY GONNA USE ONE OF THEM FOR NOW. PUT ONE ASIDE. I'M GONNA PUT THE PAPER CUP INSIDE THE RUBBER GLOVE, LIKE THIS. PUT YOUR HAND INSIDE...
Liz sticks her hand inside the cup.
Liz continues, AND PULL THE RUBBER GLOVE OVER THE CUP. AND IF YOU PUSH IT IN REALLY... LIKE THAT. LOOK, THERE YOU GO.
Liz stretches the glove over the cup.
Liz says, LOOKS LIKE A REAL HAND! OK, TUCK THAT INSIDE. I'M GOING TO USE A PERMANENT MARKER, SO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET IT ON YOUR FINGERS.
Liz uses the black marker to draw on the palm of the glove.
Liz says, LET'S SEE. LET'S DRAW AN EYE.
Liz draws two eyes.
Liz continues, NOW I'M GONNA DRAW SOME MONSTER TEETH.
Liz draws a rectangle shaped mouth with square teeth. She draws an arm on the glove.
Liz says, LET'S MAKE HIM HOLD A FLOWER.
Tom says, GREAT STUFF!
Liz sets the glove upright on the table.
Liz says, OK. JUST GOING TO PUFF IT UP AGAIN A BIT MORE, SO IT'S GOT SOME AIR INSIDE IT. ALL WE NEED IS A PAIR OF GLASSES.
Liz puts sunglasses over the eyes of the monster.
Liz says, SEE IF THIS WORKS.
(Laughs)
Tom says, AMAZING!
Liz holds up the glove.
Liz says, PERFECT. AND THERE YOU HAVE YOUR VERY OWN GLASSES HOLDER. I KNOW SOMEBODY WHO'D LIKE THIS - DELIA, DEFINITELY.
(Popping)

(Monster laughs)

Tom says, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR... MAKE IT!

Tom narrates, LET'S GIVE THOSE CHEEKY BIRDS SOMETHING USEFUL TO DO. IT'S AN AWESOME TOM GATES NAME HOLDER.
(Popping)
Objects appear as Tom names them.

(Squeaking)
Tom says, GOT ALL THAT?
A green monster holds up a timer.
Tom says, HERE WE GO. LET'S GET MAKING!
(Ticking)
(Alarm bell rings)
Tom narrates, CUT YOUR CARD INTO TWO DIFFERENT-SIZED PIECES, LIKE THIS.
The top quarter is cut off a blue piece of paper.
Tom continues, ON THE BIGGER PIECE, DRAW THE OUTLINE OF A BIRD'S BODY. NOT THE WINGS - THEY COME LATER. CUT IT OUT, FLIP IT OVER AND DRAW THE SAME ON THE OTHER SIDE. ON THE SECOND PIECE OF PAPER, CUT A STRIP OFF ONE SIDE.
An orange paper is cut.
Tom narrates, KEEP THE STRIP AND SAVE THE REST FOR LATER. FOLD THE BOTTOM OF THE STRIP UP, FLIP IT OVER AND REPEAT UNTIL YOU HAVE A FAN, LIKE THIS. CHOP OFF THE LAST BIT THAT'S LEFT OVER. TRIM THE ENDS OF YOUR FAN TO MAKE THEM ROUNDED, THEN UNFOLD IT ALL, LIKE THIS. DRAW A PATTERN ON EACH SECTION AND THEN FOLD IT BACK UP AGAIN.
A black swirling pattern is drawn on the orange paper.
Tom continues, FOLD IT ALL IN HALF TO MAKE A V SHAPE. THIS WILL BE THE WINGS FOR YOUR BIRD. BRING BACK THE BIRD YOU DREW EARLIER AND CUT A SLOT IN THE BACK. MAKE SURE IT'S THE SAME WIDTH AS THE FOLDED WINGS.
(Pop)
A blue strip of paper appears.
Tom narrates, USING THE PIECE OF PAPER YOU SAVED EARLIER, CUT ANOTHER STRIP, THEN FOLD IT IN HALF LENGTHWAYS, LIKE THIS. CUT A SMALL SLIT IN ONE SIDE, STARTING AT THE FOLD, BUT NOT ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CARD. WITH THE FOLD AT THE TOP, WRITE YOUR NAME OR DRAW A PATTERN ON IT.
The name “TOM” appears on the folded blue paper in puffy black letters with a white border.
Tom continues, NOW IT'S TIME TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER. STAND THE NAME CARD UP AND SLOT THE BIRD INTO THE SLIT AT THE TOP, THEN SLIDE THE FOLDED WINGS INTO THE SLOT ON THE BIRD WITH THE V SHAPE FACING UP. THIS IS THE BEST BIT. UNFOLD THE WINGS AT THE END SO YOU CAN SEE YOUR LOVELY PATTERN. BEAUTIFUL!
The orange wings of the bird are spread open.
Tom says, AMAZING! I MADE SOME FOR MY FRIENDS, AND AN EXTRA-SPECIAL ONE FOR DELIA.
The name holder for Delia is all in black.
Tom says, TWEET, TWEET!
(Wings flutter)
