The Grimwades all say, LET'S GO GREEN!
In the cardboard park, the “Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle” circles appear.

In a flashback, Heze joins Reu at the table.
The narrator says, REU IS VERY MUSICAL AND WANTS TO PLAY THE DRUMS.
Reu taps on the pots.
[Tapping]
The narrator asks, DOES HE HAVE TO STOP SO MUM CAN COOK?
In a flashback, Tim sorts through the recycling.
The narrator says, THERE ARE LOTS OF INTERESTING THINGS IN THE CRAFT BOX. WHAT ELSE COULD THE GRIMWADES DO?
At the table, the Grimwades all say, LET'S REUSE!
Tim says, YES, WE CAN MAKE A DRUM FOR YOU, REU. AND THAT REALLY COULD BE THE START OF A GREAT CAREER FOR YOU.
Ella says, AND I KNOW SOME PEOPLE THAT WOULD LOVE TO JAM WITH YOU, AND IN FACT, I THINK THEY'VE GOT A REHEARSAL THIS AFTERNOON.
Tim says, SOUNDS GREAT. BUT BEFORE THAT...
He sniffs the air.
Tim says, …SOMETHING SMELLS REALLY GOOD. WHAT IS THAT?
Ella says, CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS!

[Light, cheerful music plays]
Tim leads the way into a gym.
The narrator says, MUMMY'S TAKING THE GRIMWADES TO A LOCAL HALL.
Curtains open on a stage at the back of the gym.
The narrator says, LOOK WHAT'S BEHIND THE CURTAINS!
A band plays steel pan drums.
[Steel drum music plays]
The Grimwades watch the band perform.
The narrator says, IT'S A STEEL BAND WHO CALL THEMSELVES PANACHE.
[Steel drum music continues]
Halle sways and Reu bounces to the music.

Ella grins and sways to the music.
[Steel drum music ends]
Ella and Tim cheer, YAY!
[Grimwades applauding]
A short-haired man wearing a beige baseball hat steps down from the stage with a young woman wearing her curly black hair tied back.
Tim says, HELLO!
Ella says, THIS IS JAY, GUYS.
The short-haired man waves and says, HI, EVERYONE!
He looks down toward Reu and says, HELLO!
The short-haired man turns to the black-haired young woman.
He says, AND THIS IS RHIANNE.
Rhianne says, NICE TO MEET YOU.
Tim asks, RHIANNE, DO YOU WANT TO COME AND SEE WHAT WE'VE GOT?
Rhianne says, YEAH, LET'S...
The narrator says, RHIANNE'S GOING TO HELP THE GRIMWADES GO GREEN.
Rhianne walks away with Tim, Halle, Harper and Reu. Ella stays behind with Hosanna and Heze.
[Light, cheerful music plays]
Elsewhere, at a table, Tim opens the Grimwade’s craft box.
Tim says, SO, RHIANNE, WE'VE GOT ALL THIS STUFF WE REALLY WANTED TO REUSE, AND WE BASICALLY WANTED TO MAKE REU A DRUM. DO YOU THINK WE COULD DO THAT WITH THIS?
Rhianne sits on a bench outside beside Reu. Halle and Harper stand by the small table with Tim.
Rhianne says, UH, YEAH, I THINK THERE'S STUFF THAT I CAN DO WITH THIS.
She looks at the different items in the box.
Tim says, OH, EXCELLENT. AND WE'VE ALSO BROUGHT THESE SAUCEPANS.
He points toward a table with a stack of saucepans and pots.
Rhianne says, UM, YEAH, THAT'LL MAKE A GREAT SOUND. CAN YOU HANG THEM UP FOR ME, PLEASE?
Tim says, YEAH, I CAN DO THAT.
Rhianne passes Tim a bundle of rope.
Tim says, THANKS SO MUCH. COME ON THEN, GUYS, SHOULD WE HANG THEM UP?
Inside, Ella, Hosanna and Heze stand around a steel pan drum with the short-haired man.
The narrator says, HOSANNA AND HEZE ARE FINDING OUT THAT STEEL DRUMS ARE REUSED TOO.
The short-haired man says, THEY'RE ACTUALLY MADE FROM OLD OIL CONTAINERS, OIL DRUMS.
Heze says, SO YOU MEAN THEY'RE REUSED?
The short-haired man says, YES THEY ARE, AND THIS IS HOW THEY ORIGINALLY START.
Hosanna says, THAT'S REALLY GOOD.
The short-haired man says, SO, YOU'VE GOT SOME DIFFERENT TYPES OF STEEL PAN. SO, THIS ONE'S A REALLY BIG ONE AND IT MAKES A REALLY DEEP SOUND. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRY?
Heze picks up two large steel pan drum mallets and lightly taps the steel pan.
[Deep metallic thumping]
Ella says, OH THAT'S VERY LOW.
The short-haired man says, SO, THIS IS WHAT WE CALL A BASS PAN.
On the stage, red and green lights shine on different-sized steel pan drums.
The narrator says, DIFFERENT-SIZED DRUMS MAKE DIFFERENT SOUNDS. IT'S IMPORTANT HOSANNA AND HEZE KNOW THIS, BECAUSE PATRICE IS GOING TO TEACH THEM HOW TO PLAY A TUNE ON THE TENOR PAN.
Patrice has short, tightly braided black hair. He stands at a silver steel drum with Heze and Hosanna.
Patrice says, SO, ON THE PAN THERE ARE DIFFERENT NOTES, AND THESE ARE SEPARATED. YOU SEE HERE, THERE'S A DIP.
He points to different labelled dips in the pan.
Heze says, YEAH, ALL AROUND HERE.
Patrice says, YEAH, THESE ARE CALLED GROOVES.
Heze says, OKAY.
Patrice says, THEY SEPARATE THE NOTES. SO, NOW WE'RE GOING TO DO A SCALE AND IT STARTS WITH D.
He plays a scale on the steep pan.
Patrice says, SO, D, E, F-SHARP, G, A, B, C-SHARP, E.
[Notes rising in pitch]
Patrice gives Heze the mallets.
Heze says, OKAY, COOL.
The narrator says, NOW IT'S HEZE AND HOSANNA'S TURN.
Heze and Hosanna play the D-scale.
[Notes rising in pitch]
Hosanna says, EXCUSE ME, JAY. WHERE DO YOU PLAY YOUR MUSIC?
Jay, the short-haired man, says, TRADITIONALLY, THE STEEL PAN MUSIC COMES FROM THE CARNIVAL.
[Steel pan music plays]
The narrator says, CARNIVAL IS A HUGE PARTY WITH COLOURFUL COSTUMES AND LOTS OF MUSIC.
Musicians walk in a parade wearing colourful clothes.
[Steel pan music continues]
The narrator says, THE PLAYING OF STEEL PANS STARTED ON THE ISLANDS OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. PEOPLE WERE STOPPED FROM USING INSTRUMENTS TO MAKE MUSIC, SO THEY REUSED FRYING PANS, DUST BIN LIDS, AND OIL DRUMS.
In archival footage, people play steel pans and homemade instruments.
Hosanna says, OH, WOW.
Ella says, I WONDER IF WE COULD ALL HAVE A CARNIVAL LATER?
Heze says, THAT’D BE COOL.
Jay says, YOU COULD PLAY WITH OUR BAND, IF YOU WANT.
Ella says, OH, THAT'D BE AWESOME!
[Light, cheerful music plays]
Outside, Tim hangs a pan on a clothing rack with rope.
The narrator says, OUTSIDE, DADDY, HALLE, AND HARPER ARE MAKING AN INSTRUMENT OUT OF THEIR POTS AND PANS. AND RHIANNE IS LOOKING AT WHAT REU COULD REUSE TO MAKE HIS OWN DRUM.
Rhianne pulls a container with a lid out of the craft box.
She says, THIS COULD BE GOOD.
Rhianne gives the container to Reu.
She says, AND PICK A COLOUR.
Reu pulls a green piece of paper out of the box.
The narrator says, GREEN! OF COURSE.
Rhianne cuts a purple piece of paper. Reu draws on his green paper with an orange pencil crayon.
The narrator says, THEY'RE GOING TO MAKE THE DRUM FIT FOR A CARNIVAL.
Rhianne and Reu squeeze glue onto a shape cut from purple paper. Reu glues the shape onto his green paper.
The narrator says, AND WHAT'S GOING ON INSIDE THE HALL?
In the hall, the gym, Jay plays the steel pan.
The narrator says, NOW THEY KNOW THE NOTES, JAY'S TEACHING HOSANNA AND HEZE A TUNE TO PLAY. I HOPE THEY CAN LEARN IT IN TIME.
Heze and Hosanna practice the tune. Outside, without the lid, Rhianne holds Rue’s drum container steady, and Reu glues it on his paper.
The narrator says, REU'S DRUM IS TAKING SHAPE.
Rue puts the lid back on the container.
The narrator says, THAT'S IT, REU! POP THE LID ON. WHAT'S NEXT?
Rhianne says, THIS IS FELT.
She pulls a pale pink piece of felt out of the craft box.
Rhianne says, AND THIS IS GONNA BE ON TOP OF THE DRUM.
She puts the felt over the container and cuts a piece of string with scissors. Rhianne holds the felt over the container and Reu wraps the string around it.
The narrator says, REU'S HELPING TO TIE THE STRING AROUND THE TOP TO HOLD THE FELT IN PLACE.
Rue holds the container and the drum, and Rhianne ties the string.
Rhianne says, SO, THAT'S THE STRING DONE.
The narrator says, BORROW A WOODEN SPOON…
Rue takes a wooden spoon from Rhianne.
Rhianne asks, DO YOU WANT TO TRY IT OUT?
Reu says, YEAH!
The narrator says, …AND NOW YOU CAN MAKE MUSIC.
Reu bangs his drum with the spoon.
He says, SOUNDS LIKE A DRUM.
The narrator says, YOU'VE REUSED TO MAKE A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT.
Rhianne says, HIGH-FIVE!
The narrator says, WELL DONE, REU.
Rhianne and Reu high-five.
Rhianne asks, DO YOU WANNA KNOW HOW YOUR DADDY'S GETTING ON?
She looks over at Tim. Tim tightens a knot on a rope tied to a pan on the clothing rack and glances at Rhianne and Reu.
Tim says, ALL RIGHT, I'M ALL FINISHED. SO, SHOULD WE GO AND FIND THE OTHERS?
Rhianne says, YEAH.
Reu says, YEAH!
Tim says, YEAH? COME ON THEN, GUYS. AFTER YOU.
[Light, cheerful music plays]
In the hall, the bright red and green lights shine from the stage. Harper, Rue, Halle and Houston walk into the gym with wooden spoons. Rue bangs his drum with his spoon. Tim pulls the clothing rack with hanging pots and pans into the gym. Rhianne follows.
[Upbeat music plays]
Ella, Hosanna and Heze dance.
Halle says, COME ON, HOUSTON!
Ella says, YOU'RE JUST IN TIME, GUYS!
Tim asks, FOR WHAT?
Ella says, CARNIVAL!
Tim cheers, EH!
Halle screams, WHOO!
Ella cheers, WHOO!
She blows a tune on a whistle.
[Whistle blowing]
The narrator says, EH! MAKE SOME NOISE AT HOME TOO.
Ella cheers, WHOO!
She, Hosanna and Heze play their steel pans. The Panache band plays their instruments on the stage.
[Go Green theme playing]
The narrator says, CLAP YOUR HANDS AND STAMP YOUR FEET.
Tim, Halle and Harper tap a tune on the hanging pots and pans.
[Tapping]
Rhianne plays a steel pan beside Reu and Houston. Ella, Hosanna and Heze tap their mallets together to the beat. Rue watches Rhianne and taps his drum.

Tim says, HE DOES. WELL DONE, GUYS. WE'VE REUSED!
[Cheerful music plays]
In a flashback, Reu makes a drum with Rhianne.
The narrator says, HOW DID THE GRIMWADES GO GREEN TODAY? THEY REUSED THEIR RECYCLING WASTE TO MAKE A DRUM FOR REU.
Reu bangs the drum.
The narrator says, AND WITH THE HELP OF THEIR KITCHEN PANS, THE GRIMWADES BROUGHT THEIR OWN CARNIVAL TO LIFE.
In a flashback, the Grimwades perform with Panache.
In the present, Ella says, OH, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, EVERYONE! BUT MAKE SURE YOU CHECK WITH AN ADULT BEFORE YOU BORROW A SAUCEPAN IN CASE SOMEBODY'S TRYING TO MAKE THE DINNER.
Tim says, GREAT ADVICE, MUMMY. AND ALSO REMEMBER YOU CAN ALWAYS PLAY THESE QUIETLY, OR LOUDLY.
Ella says, AH, FANTASTIC. WELL, A BIG THANK YOU TO RHIANNE, JAY AND THE REST OF PANACHE!
The band members wave.

Tim says, WOW, IT'S LIKE CARNIVAL IN HERE!
Ella says, I KNOW, ISN'T IT GREAT? PROBLEM IS, I NEED THAT PAN FOR MY COOKING!
She points to one of the pots on the table.
Tim says, AND ALSO, I NEED TO LAY THE TABLE, SO UNFORTUNATELY, I'M GONNA HAVE TO MOVE ALL THE PANS.
[Record scratching]
Everyone stops dancing.
The narrator says, OH NO!
Heze says, BUT WE DON'T WANT TO STOP OUR MUSIC.
Tim says, YOU KNOW WHAT? GRIMWADE GANG...
The Grimwades all say, LET'S GO GREEN!
In the cardboard park, the “Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle” circles appear.
The narrator says, YOU'RE PART OF THE GRIMWADE GANG, TOO. WHICH OF THE FIVE R’S SHOULD WE USE TO GO GREEN TODAY? SHOULD WE REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPAIR, OR RECYCLE?
The rest of the family cheers, YAY!
The narrator says, THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE PLAYERS, AND THEY'RE HERE TO SHOW REU HOW THEY REUSE TO MAKE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.’
The narrator says, SOUNDS GOOD, REU.
[Go Green theme continues]
Tim says, GO ON, REU. HERE WE GO.
[Music ends]
[Clapping]
[Ella cheering]
Tim says, THAT WAS GREAT!
Ella says, WELL DONE!
[Cheering]
Tim says, IT WAS SO HAPPY.
Ella says, WELL, THAT'S CARNIVAL FOR YOU. AND REU ABSOLUTELY LOVES HIS REUSED DRUM.
Tim says, THANKS, GUYS.
Heze says, THANK YOU!
Tim says, GRIMWADE GANG...
The Grimwades all say, WE'VE GONE GREEN!
[Dinging]
Title: Go Green with the Grimwades.
In the cardboard park, Tim says, WE'VE GONE GREEN.
Ella says, NOW, IT'S YOUR TURN.
[Upbeat music plays]

The entire Grimwade family dances.

Ella sings, ALL THE LITTLE THINGS YOU DO REALLY HELP THE PLANET TOO.
In the park, the entire family sings, GO GREEN, GO GREEN, GO GREEN, GREEN, GREEN. GO GREEN, GO GREEN, TO KEEP THE PLANET CLEAN.
Ella walks through the park.
She sings IT'S A WALK IN THE PARK.
Ella waves to Heze, Hosanna, and Halle, who are picking up trash in the park.
She sings, IT'S PICKING IT UP.
Tim hangs a plastic water bottle bird feeder in a tree.
Ella sings, IT'S FEEDING THE BIRDS.
[Birds chirping]
Ella holds up a reusable cup.
She sings, AND REUSING YOUR CUP.
In the kitchen, Heze taps on an overturned pot with wooden spoons.
[Metallic tapping]
Heze sings, GO GREEN, GO GREEN, TO KEEP THE PLANET CLEAN.
He lowers the spoons and says, YOU'RE PART OF THE GRIMWADE GANG, SO GO GREEN, TOO. IF YOU HAVE AN OLD SAUCEPAN, WHY NOT REUSE IT AS DRUMS LIKE US?
People tap on hanging pots and saucepans.
[Tapping]
Heze says, OR BORROW A GROWNUP'S.
Ella leans down to Heze’s level.
She says, UNTIL THEY NEED IT BACK!
[Heze laughing]
The narrator says, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS YOUR DINNER!
