Audrey stands as she slides down a rock past Karl and Pat. Karl, a slender young man with black hair, watches Audrey slide past. Audrey and Jack, still carrying Tommy, run past Jonas, a man with curly red hair. He lifts a rake over his head and spins as they pass.

A red balloon floats above the open iron gates in front of the Shelter. More balloons decorate the gates and a banner with colourful flags hangs between them.
In the greenhouse, Hector holds a birthday cake. He, Sonia, Jonas, Karl, Tommy, and Jack wear birthday hats. Audrey stands facing everyone.
Everyone shouts, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
[Audrey giggles]
Hector puts the cake on a table in front of Audrey.
[Clatter]
Hector says, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Audrey says, OOH!
Audrey blows out nine candles on her cake.
[Audrey inhales, blows, applause, giggling]
Flames rise on the candles.
Audrey says, HUH?
Karl says, HAHA! TRICK CANDLES!
Jack walks to the cake and looks at the candles.
[Jacks ooks, inhales deeply]

Hector says, NO!
Jack blows the cake and cups off the table.
[Slide whistle, clatter, birds chirp]
Hector dives to the ground and catches the cake.
Hector says, PHEW...
Hector stands, holding the cake.
[Whoosh]
Hector says, ALL GOOD, NO HARM DONE!
[Everyone cheers, Jack ooks excitedly, birds chirp]
Sonia says, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEETHEART!
Sonia gives Audrey a present wrapped in light blue paper with blue stars. Audrey opens her present and reveals a red pogo stick.
[Rustling, birds chirp]
Audrey says, OH! A POGO STICK!
THANKS, MOM! THANKS, DAD!
Sonia says, YOU CAN THANK PAT.
IT WAS ALL HER IDEA!
[Laughing]
Audrey bounces on her pogo stick.
[Boings, upbeat music plays]
Audrey hops off her pogo stick and hugs her parents.
Audrey says, THIS IS THE BEST
BIRTHDAY EVER!
Tommy blows a party horn. He shows Audrey a piece of paper. The paper unrolls and rolls along the ground.
[Party horn honks, paper flaps]
Tommy says, IT MAY SEEM LIKE
IT'S THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER,
BUT ARE YOU READY FOR IT TO BE
THE BESTEST-BEST BIRTHDAY EVER?!

Tommy chases Audrey. His list flaps in the wind as he runs.

On the plains, Pat washes Nala’s neck.

[Pogo stick boings]

Pat stands on top of a stepladder. She looks down at Audrey.

Pat climbs down the ladder.
[Footsteps thunk]
Tommy looks at Nala. He holds his hands out measuring the distance between Nala and the ground.
Tommy says, UH...
Pat asks, YOU OKAY, TOMMY?
Tommy says, UH... YES, I'M FINE!
IT'S JUST THAT I READ GIRAFFES
GIVE BIRTH STANDING UP,
BUT... THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
Pat dunks her neck-scrubbing brush into a pail of water.
[Splash, upbeat music continues]
Pat says, IT'S VERY POSSIBLE!
THEY EVEN SAY THE FALL
HELPS THE BABY
TAKE ITS FIRST BREATH.
Audrey says, DON'T WORRY! I'VE FALLEN
FROM MUCH HIGHER THAN THAT,
AND BEEN TOTALLY FINE! PROMISE!
Tommy says, WELL, WITH THAT
OUTTA THE WAY,
WE CAN START MY AWESOME

[Nala groans]

Tommy takes Audrey’s hand and leads her away from Nala and Pat.
[Nala grumbles]
In the greenhouse, Birds fly across the sky.
[Chirping]
In the forest, Tommy stands facing Audrey and Jack.
[Upbeat music plays]
Tommy says, AND SO BEGINS THE FIRST
GAME OF THE BESTEST
BIRTHDAY EVER!
Audrey asks, SO, WHAT IS IT?
DIVING COMPETITION? ARCHERY?
OR AN OBSTACLE COURSE?
Tommy says, EVEN BETTER!

Tommy faces a tree. He turns around. Audrey and Jack stare at him.

Tommy turns and faces the tree again.

THE STATUE TECHNIQUE...

Tommy faces a tree. He turns around. Audrey and Jack stare at him.

Audrey sits on Jack’s back.
[Audrey giggles, Jack ooks]

Audrey hangs upside down from a tree branch above Jack. Her back is turned towards Tommy.
[Birds chirp]
Tommy says, HMM? HMM?

Tommy looks in the direction Audrey faces and sees Nala’s silhouette through glass windows.
Tommy says, AW, AGAIN WITH NALA?
Audrey says, I'M JUST MAKING SURE!
Tommy asks, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BIRTHDAY
GIFT I MADE YOU?
Back on the ground, Audrey stands by a rock. She holds a hand over her eyes. Tommy puts a piece of paper in Audrey’s hand.
[Tense music plays]
Tommy says, OKAY, OPEN YOUR EYES!
Audrey says, HMM? A LITTLE PIECE OF PAPER?
THANKS, TOMMY...
A stream flows beside Tommy and Audrey. On the other side of the stream, water gushes over a waterfall. A wooden bridge passes over the water at the base of the waterfall.
[Water gurgles]
Tommy says, STOP! THAT'S NOT YOUR PRESENT!
IT'S A RIDDLE THAT
LEADS YOU TO YOUR PRESENT!
Audrey reaches for the riddle, and Tommy pulls it out of reach. He climbs up on the rock.
Audrey says, HMM?
[Rustling, annoyed grumble]
Tommy reads, I'M HIDING IN A PLACE
WHERE THIS ANIMAL
REALLY LIKES TO DIVE.
THEY'D LOOK ALMOST HUMAN,
BUT THEY'RE FUNNY NOSES
WOULDN'T JIVE!
[Jack vocalizes]
Audrey says, NALA?!
Tommy says, NALA? DOES SHE LOOK
ALMOST HUMAN! HMM?
[Jack ooks]
Over the walkie-talkie, Pat says, NO, AUDREY.
NALA STILL ISN'T GIVING BIRTH.
Tommy looks behind Jack and finds Audrey crouching with the walkie-talkie in her hands.
Audrey says, HMM?
[Beep, chuckles nervously]
Audrey says, UH... COULD BE JACK.
HIS NOSE IS A LITTLE FUNNY.
BUT HE DOESN'T REALLY
LIKE TO DIVE.
Tommy says, UH-HUH! YOU'RE VERY CLOSE!
HE'S THE ONLY MONKEY
IN THE REFUGE WHO CAN SWIM!
Audrey says, OH! I KNOW! OOH!
In a cave, Babou, a proboscis monkey, floats on his back.
[Splashing, insects chirp, upbeat music plays]
Audrey says, HELLO, BABOU!
Babou jumps onto a rock in the water. He scratches his head and looks at Audrey.
[Confused hooting, splashing]
Audrey asks, HAVE YOU SEEN MY PRESENT?
Tommy says, YOU'RE VERY COLD...
Audrey says, HMM...
Audrey searches the cave.
[Whooshing, upbeat music continues]
Tommy says, WARMER! WARMER! VERY HOT!
VERY HOT! YOU'RE LITERALLY
ALL OVER IT!
Audrey says, OH, GOODIE, ANOTHER RIDDLE...
Audrey picks up a piece of paper.
[Paper rustles, Babou hoots, water splashes]
Tommy says, OH, DON'T WORRY,

OR ELSE IT WOULDN'T BE MUCH
OF A TREASURE HUNT, WOULD IT?
[Audrey sighs]
Babou jumps into the water and drenches Audrey.
[Splash, Audrey sighs unhappily]
Later, Audrey peers into a birdhouse. She reaches inside.
[Upbeat music plays, rustling]
Audrey stands on Jack’s shouler as she pulls a piece of paper from the birdhouse. Jack lifts his arms triumphantly, and Audrey falls face-first against the tree trunk.
[Rustling, smack, bird chirps]
Audrey finds a piece of paper under a rock. A frog licks her.
[Rustling]
Audrey pulls a piece of paper out of a mud pool. Rina, a rhinoceros, shakes the mud off and covers Audrey. Audrey grits her teeth.
[Rina grunts, splashing]
Audrey climbs to the top of a rocky outcropping and grabs a piece of paper. Jack lies on his stomach, resting his chin on his hand.
[Jack ooks, upbeat music continues]
Audrey says, NO, JACK, WE DON'T HAVE
TIME FOR A NAP.
WE HAVE TO SOLVE THE RIDDLE.
Audrey reads, YOUR FINAL CLUE LAYS
IN THE HANDS OF AN ANIMAL
THAT STANDS ON TWO FEET,
AND ON THIS VERY SPECIAL DAY,
HE'LL MAKE SURE THAT...
Tommy says, HUH?
[Sad music plays, paper rustles]
Audrey says, ...EVERYTHING IS... OH, TOMMY!
CAN'T YOU JUST
GIVE ME MY PRESENT?
Tommy says, JUST GIVE YOU YOUR PRESENT?
BUT THAT'S NO FUN! COME ON!
Audrey flops onto her stomach on a rock.
Audrey says, UGH!
Tommy climbs up rocks to Audrey.
[Tommy grunts, birds chirp]
Tommy says, YOU'RE ALMOST THERE!
Audrey says, AH! OH, I KNOW!
Audrey jumps off the rocks. Tommy follows her.
[Whoosh, grunting]
Tommy shouts, HUH?
WAIT! YOU'RE FREEZING
COLD RIGHT NOW, AUDREY!
FREEZING COLD! LIKE FROSTBITE!
YOU'RE IN THE NORTH POLE!
Tommy follows Audrey through the forest. In the plains, Audrey searches in Pat’s pockets and pouch.
[Rustling, goats bleat]
Tommy says, YOU'RE COMPLETELY FROZEN.
Audrey says, WELL, PAT'S MAKING SURE
EVERYTHING'S OKAY
WITH NALA'S BABY.
IT'S GOTTA BE HER.
Audrey looks in Pat’s socks.
Pat says, OH!
[Laughs]
Pat says, STOP IT, AUDREY,
YOU'RE TICKLING ME!
I HAVE TO GO FEED NALA!
Audrey says, OH! DO YOU NEED
A HAND WITH THAT?
Audrey follows Pat.
[Footsteps rustle]
Tommy says sadly, HMM...
Audrey climbs up on a rock and offers Nala hay. Nala turns her face away.
[Giggling, Nala bleats]
Audrey says, OKAY.
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOU, NALA?
HAVE YOU LOST YOUR APPETITE?
Tommy says, OKAY, FINE! I'M THE ANIMAL

Tommy holds a piece of paper above his head. Nala grabs it and pulls Tommy up into the air.
[Tense music plays, creaking]

[Paper tears]

[Thud]

Nala eats the paper.

PREPARING YOUR BIRTHDAY GIFT

SOME FUN TOGETHER.
BUT RIGHT FROM THE START,
ALL YOU'VE CARED ABOUT IS NALA.
Audrey says, OH... TOMMY, WAIT!
Pat says, GO ON, AUDREY. HMM!
[Soft music plays]
Audrey reaches out and touches Tommy’s shoulder.

Audrey offers Tommy the walkie-talkie.

Tommy turns off the walkie-talkie.

[He giggles]

[Nala groans]

In his house, Hector reaches for a cupcake in the fridge. He bangs his head.
[Thunk, upbeat music plays]

Over the walkie-talkie, Pat says, EVERYONE NEEDS

Sonia stands up and runs out of an office.
[Gasping, chair creaks]
Over the walkie-talkie, Pat says,

EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE HERE!
AND STEP ON IT!
THIS BABY IS COMING
VERY QUICKLY!
In the greenhouse, Karl runs, carrying a large rock.
[Karl gasps, grunts]
Karl says, BABY GIRAFFE! BABY GIRAFFE!

HMM?
Jonas stops a red tractor by Karl.
[Engine rumbles]
Jonas says, WELL, C'MON, HOP IN!
Karl says, OH. YEAH, THANKS!
Karl drops the rock and runs to the tractor.
[Birds chirp]
In their cabin in a tree, Audrey picks up a box.
Audrey asks, WHAT IS IT?
Tommy says, THE GREATEST GAME
IN THE WHOLE WORLD!
THE GOAL IS TO SAVE THE ANIMALS.
Audrey asks, YOU MEAN LIKE THE REFUGE,
BUT PRETEND?
Tommy uses small tweezers on the game board to take a bone out of a gorilla’s arm.
[Upbeat music continues]
Tommy says, YOU HAVE TO TAKE
OUT THE PIECES
WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SIDES.
AND THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE!
YOUR TURN!
[Game buzzes]
The table beneath the game shakes, and the walkie-talkie falls. Audrey rolls her eyes.
Audrey says, WOW! THIS IS SO FUN!
Audrey reaches for the walkie-talkie.
[Whoosh]
Audrey says, HUH? WAIT!
YOU TURNED IT OFF?
[Tense music plays]
Tommy says, IT'S A DISTRACTION!
YOU CAN'T TURN IT BACK ON.
Audrey says, I SAID YOU COULD TAKE IT,
BUT I DIDN'T SAY TURN IT OFF!
UGH!
Tommy and Audrey pull the walkie-talkie between them.
[Annoyed grumbling, grunting]
Tommy says, AS LONG AS IT'S ON,

The walkie-talkie falls to the floor and turns on.
[Crash, static]
On the walkie-talkie, Pat says, AUDREY,

NALA IS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH.

[Audrey and Tommy gasp, Audrey growls at Tommy]

Audrey runs out of the door in the base of the tree trunk and stops.
[Slam, upbeat music plays]
Audrey says, PAT! DO YOU READ ME? PAT! PAT!
Tommy asks, DID WE MISS THE BIRTH?

I HOPE YOU LIKED THIS BIRTHDAY,

Audrey shoves the walkie-talkie into Tommy’s chest and hops across the roots of the tree.
[Tommy grunts]

NALA NEEDS ME!
Audrey swings on a vine.
[Grunting, vine creaks]

Audrey and Jack swing on vines. Tommy follows on the ground, bouncing on the pogo stick.
On the plains, Audrey rides on Jack’s back. Tommy bounces behind.
[Grunting, boings, panting]
Audrey jumps off Jack’s back.

[Nala groans]
Audrey climbs up onto a rocky ledge by Nala’s head.
[Grunting]

[Grunting]
Tommy arrives and bends over beside Jack.
Tommy says, OH!
[Tommy pants]
Tommy gives Audrey a thumbs-up sign.
[Nala groans]
Audrey says, THAT'S RIGHT, PUSH!
[Jonas and Karl whimper nervously]
Audrey says, C'MON, PUSH! YOU'RE ALMOST DONE!
[Hector and Sonia whimper nervously]

[Thud]
[Gasps, birds chirp]

A giraffe calf lies on the grass. Nala licks the calf, and it stands.
[Small groan, slurp, soft music plays]
[Audrey giggles, calf grumbles]
The calf falls.
[Thud]

[She laughs]

[Sonia chuckles]
Nala licks the calf.
[Audrey giggles, tongue slurps, bleating]
Tommy says, HMM?
Tommy turns and sadly walks away.
Audrey says, HM. TOMMY.

Audrey asks, WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
Tommy replies, I JUST THOUGHT

Back on the ground, Audrey stands by a rock. She holds a hand over her eyes. Tommy puts a piece of paper in Audrey’s hand.

THANKS, TOMMY...
A stream flows beside Tommy and Audrey. On the other side of the stream, water gushes over a waterfall. A wooden bridge passes over the water at the base of the waterfall.
[Water gurgles]
Tommy says, STOP! THAT'S NOT YOUR PRESENT!
IT'S A RIDDLE THAT
LEADS YOU TO YOUR PRESENT!
Audrey reaches for the riddle, and Tommy pulls it out of reach. He climbs up on the rock.

[Rustling, annoyed grumble]
Tommy reads, I'M HIDING IN A PLACE
WHERE THIS ANIMAL

THEY'D LOOK ALMOST HUMAN,

[Jack vocalizes]

Audrey finds a piece of paper under a rock. A frog licks her.
[Rustling]
Audrey pulls a piece of paper out of a mud pool. Rina, a rhinoceros, shakes the mud off and covers Audrey. Audrey grits her teeth.
[Rina grunts, splashing]
Audrey climbs to the top of a rocky outcropping and grabs a piece of paper. Jack lies on his stomach, resting his chin on his hand.
[Jack ooks, upbeat music continues]
Audrey says, NO, JACK, WE DON'T HAVE
TIME FOR A NAP.
WE HAVE TO SOLVE THE RIDDLE.
Audrey reads, YOUR FINAL CLUE LAYS
