Inside the greenhouse, Audrey, a young girl with red hair in a ponytail, stands on a tree branch. She wears a yellow jacket over an olive green shirt, black pants, and brown boots. Audrey whistles and startles butterflies. Standing on a rock nearby, Tommy watches Jack, a gorilla, land on the branch beside Audrey. Tommy wears a pale blue long-sleeve shirt and pale grey pants. His black curly hair is short.

Audrey swings on a vine with a golden lion tamarin clinging to her head. Tommy rides on Jack’s back as Jack swings from a second vine.

A person sings, OH, CAN YOU HEAR THEM, ANIMALS ARE CALLING. THEY ARE IN DANGER.

Audrey stands as she slides down a rock past Karl and Pat. Karl, a slender young man with black hair, watches Audrey slide past. He wears an olive green vest, a dark green hat, a yellow shirt, red pants, and red-rimmed eyeglasses. Pat bottle-feeds a large grey kitten with black spots. Her black hair is pulled into a ponytail, and she wears an olive green vest and a yellow tee shirt. Tommy rides Jack down the rock.

She wears a pink jacket, a blue shirt, and brown pants. Audrey’s dad, Hector, holds a bamboo shoot. He has short black hair and a dark grey beard. He wears a stethoscope, a grey shirt, and dark green pants.

The singer sings, NATURE'S OUR PASSION, READY FOR ACTION.

Audrey and Jack, still carrying Tommy, run past Jonas, a man with curly red hair. He lifts a rake over his head and spins as they pass.

[Whooshing, upbeat music continues]

Audrey pulls leaves to the side and reveals Tommy in a clearing with Jack, a giraffe, an elephant, and a gazelle.

The tall iron gates in front of the Shelter are open. Tommy rides his red bicycle down the path, drops it on the ground, and runs inside the greenhouse.

[Bicycle rattling]

Inside, Audrey presses against a chain link fence. In the enclosure, a cheetah moves behind bushes.

[Growling, leaves rustling]

Tommy says, AUDREY! I CAME AS FAST AS I COULD! SO? WHO'S THE NEW GUY?

Audrey says, HER NAME IS AZUR. THE REFUGE RESCUED HER BECAUSE HER OWNER DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO KEEP HER. AZUR NEVER EVEN SAW DAYLIGHT...

In the enclosure, Hector crouches close to the ground and looks around. Beside him, Karl stands trembling.

[Karl whimpering]

Audrey says, MY DAD AND KARL ARE WITH HER.

[Tense music plays]

Hector says, HM?

Audrey says, LOOK!

Tommy says, WOW! A CHEETAH! THE FASTEST ANIMAL IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Azur approaches Karl, who holds a bucket.

[Azur growling, chirping]

Hector says, BE CAREFUL, KARL... GO SLOWLY. SHE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE SHE'S IN A GOOD MOOD.

Karl says, UH... EASY NOW... NICE KITTY CAT... HEEEEEE!

Karl runs and hides behind Hector.

[Azur growling, Karl shouting, Audrey gasping, tense music plays]

Audrey says, DAD, LOOK OUT, AZUR DOESN'T LOOK VERY HAPPY.

Hector says, I SEE THAT. WE'D BETTER GET OUT OF HERE.

Karl runs out of the enclosure.

[Screeching, gate clattering, Hector clears his throat, Azur growling]

Hector backs away from Azur and leaves the enclosure.

[Gate clanking]

Hector says, WELL, WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO GIVE HER SOME TIME TO GET USED TO HER NEW ENVIRONMENT. THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY WE CAN HELP HER. I'M GOING TO CALL CARA.

Karl and Audrey ask, CARA CARMICHAEL?

They both look at Hector with huge eyes.

[Chiming]

Karl and Audrey say, HM?

[Insects chirping]

Tommy asks, CARA WHO? IS THIS SOME FAMOUS PERSON?

[Whooshing]

Audrey says, OH YES! YOU'VE NEVER HEARD ME TALK ABOUT HER? I LOVE HER! SHE'S MY IDOL!

Karl says, SHE'S MINE AS WELL!

Hector says, WELL... I'M GONNA CALL HER!

Karl says, AND I'LL WAIT PATIENTLY FOR HER ARRIVAL!

Tommy says, I DON'T UNDERSTAND. IS SHE REALLY AS AMAZING AS THAT?

[Insects chittering]

Audrey says, CARA IS SO AWESOME, TOMMY! SHE SPECIALIZES IN FELINES. I'VE ALWAYS DREAMT OF MEETING HER! I'M SO EXCITED!

Tommy says, UH... OH..ALRIGHT...

[Azur growling]

Tommy runs after Audrey.

Tommy says, AH!

In front of the greenhouse, Hector, Audrey, Tommy, and Karl stand by the entrance.

[Cawing, motorcycle engine rumbles, rock music plays, Audrey screaming excitedly]

Audrey shouts, AH! SHE'S HERE!

Cara skids to a stop and takes off her helmet. She shakes her medium-length brown hair and poses in her black leather jacket, white shirt, and cheetah-print bandana.

[Tommy groaning, tires screeching, excited whimpering, Karl and Audrey moaning excitedly, rustling, birds chirping]

Cara says, HI!

Hector says, THANKS FOR GETTING HERE SO QUICKLY, CARA!

Hector and Cara shake hands.

[Hands slapping, birds singing]

Cara says, I'M ALWAYS READY TO HELP A CHEETAH IN DISTRESS!

Hector says, WELCOME TO THE REFUGE! THIS IS KARL...

Karl faints.

[Karl giggling, slide whistle, gentle music plays, thumping]

Hector says, UH... OKAY...

[Hector coughing]

Hector says, THIS IS MY DAUGHTER, AUDREY! AND HER FRIEND, TOMMY!

Tommy smiles and waves. Beside him, Audrey sweats.

[Audrey giggling nervously, upbeat music plays]

Audrey babbles, HELLO, MY NAME'S CARA! UH NO, IT'S NOT! MY NAME'S AUDREY! YOU ARE CARA! BUT YOU ALREADY KNOW THAT.

[Cara chuckling]

Cara says, HELLO, AUDREY! WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHOW ME THE CHEETAH?

Audrey babbles, YES! THE AZUR'S NAME IS CHEETAH! UH, NO! HER NAME IS AZUR...

[Audrey giggling]

Cara says, I'M SURE WE'RE GONNA GET ALONG VERY WELL!

In the enclosure, Azur bares her teeth.

[Snarling]

Cara says, COME HERE AND SAY HI... I WON'T BITE!

Outside the enclosure gate, Tommy and Audrey cling to Karl.

Tommy says, YEAH... BUT SHE MIGHT!

Cara says, HMM...

Azur charges at Cara.

[Roaring]

Karl and the children shouting, CARA! NO!

Nearby birds take off from the trees.

[Chirping]

Cara says, THAT'S IT, GENTLE...

Azur rubs against Cara’s legs.

[Azur meowing, purring softly]

Everyone says, PHEW!

Cara says, THAT'S GOOD... ARE WE GOING TO BE FRIENDS NOW, YOU AND I?

[Azur purring softly, everyone ahhing]

Audrey says, THAT IS SO AMAZING!

Cara says, SHE'S CALM NOW! I'M GOING TO EXAMINE AZUR. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?

Azur licks her paw. Cara kneels beside her.

[Whooshing, slurping]

Karl says, YES!

Cara says, UH... THE CHILDREN?

Karl says, HM?

[Laughing nervously]

Karl says, I'VE GOT SOMETHING I NEED TO DO, ANYWAY!

[Audrey giggling nervously, birds chirping]

Cara says, SO? SHALL WE GET STARTED?

Audrey says, UH...

Tommy says, YES, WITH PLEASURE!

[Tommy giggling, upbeat music plays]

Cara examines Azur.

[Rustling]

Cara says, FIRST THE EARS... THEY'RE GOOD! THE CLAWS... VERY GOOD!

Tommy says, WOW! THEY'RE REALLY SHARP!

Cara says, CAREFUL! CHEETAHS ARE THE ONLY FELINES WHO CAN'T RETRACT THEIR CLAWS! COULD YOU PASS ME THE STETHOSCOPE, PLEASE, AUDREY?

Audrey picks up the stethoscope and the medical kit. The kit falls open and Cara’s supplies fall on the ground. Azur startles and runs. She grabs the stethoscope and shakes her head.

[Audrey giggling nervously, clattering, squeaking, leaves rustling, whooshing]

Audrey says, OH? OH NO!

[Cara chuckling]

Cara walks to Azur and kneels in front of her.

Cara says, IT'S NO BIG DEAL! IT'S NOT A TOY, AZUR...

Audrey says, UH, I'LL GO GET MY DAD'S. I'LL BE BACK IN TWO SECONDS!

Audrey climbs a vine and a tree. She falls, tangled in vines.

[Rustling, tense musical notes play, crashing, Audrey shouting]

Tommy asks, ARE YOU OKAY, AUDREY?

Audrey says, HM?

Azur cleans her paw.

[Purring]

Elsewhere in the greenhouse jungle, Karle sits on a rock and draws in a sketchbook. Babou, a proboscis monkey, climbs a tree behind him.

[Leaves rustling, Karl humming, upbeat music plays]

Karl says, AH! I REALLY HOPE CARA LIKES IT... IT'S THE BEST THING I'VE DRAWN YET! HM?

Babou reaches down and grabs the sketchbook. He yanks it out of Karl’s hands and swings away on a vine.

[Chattering, rustling]

Karl says, BABOU!

In the enclosure, Cara looks at Azur’s teeth.

[Rustling]

Cara says, HMM... EVERYTHING'S GOOD AT THIS END!

Audrey says, WOW!

Cara stands up.

[Rustling]

Cara says, OKAY, IT'S DINNER TIME!

Audrey says, I'M ON IT!

Audrey runs away from Tommy, Cara, and Azur.

[Footsteps rustling]

Tommy says, HM?

Cara says, IT'LL BE GOOD FOR YOU TO PUT ON A COUPLE OF POUNDS, AZUR.

Audrey returns and opens a cooler full of meat.

[Slide whistle]

Audrey says, HERE YOU GO!

[Audrey giggling, Azur snarling]

Cara says, HM? NO!

Azur leaps forward and knocks Cara down.

[Dramatic music plays, thumping]

Cara says, NOT ALL AT ONCE!

Audrey says, UH? AH!

Audrey drops the cooler and jumps away.

[Thumping, crunching]

Cara says, WELL... AT THIS RATE, SHE WON'T BE UNDERWEIGHT FOR VERY LONG.

Audrey looks down at the ground.

In the jungle, Karl sits on a branch and stretches towards Babou.

[Karl grunting, birds chirping]

Karl says, COME ON, BABOU... GIVE IT BACK! IT'S NOT FOR YOU! IT'S FOR CARA!

Karl’s branch breaks and falls into a pond.

[Cracking, splashing]

Karl says, I'LL BE FINE.

Babou climbs higher in the tree and drops the sketchbook on the branch.

[Leaves rustling]

In the enclosure, Audrey sits with her eyes shut, her shoulders slumped, and her chin resting on her hand. Tommy looks from her to Cara.

[Upbeat music plays]

Tommy says, HM... DID YOU KNOW, CARA... THAT AUDREY HAS AN INCREDIBLE GIFT WITH ANIMALS! SHE CAN EVEN TALK TO THEM! SHOW HER YOUR CHEETAH CRY!

Audrey whispers, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I DON'T KNOW WHAT A CHEETAH SOUNDS LIKE!

Tommy says, OOPS...

Azur sleeps beside Cara.

Cara says, OH! I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO HEAR THAT!

Audrey says, ALRIGHT... I IMAGINE IT MUST BE...A KIND OF CAWING SOUND. A BIT LIKE PERLE!

[Cawing clumsily]

Cara stares at Audrey.

[Birds chirping, Cara chuckling]

Cara says, SORRY. THAT SOUNDS MORE LIKE THE CRY OF A CLOUDED LEOPARD.

Audrey says, HUH?

Cara says, ANYWAYS, UNLIKE A LOT OF FELINES, CHEETAHS DON'T ROAR AT ALL! THEY BARK AND HISS. I'LL SHOW YOU.

Cara squeezes a ball by Azur and Azur stands.

[Azur purring, ball squeaking, Azur vocalizing, upbeat music plays]

Audrey and Tommy say, AH!

Azur hits the ball, and it rolls away. A green bird watches the ball through the fence. By Cara, Azur cleans her paw.

[Ball squeaking, green bird cooing, purring, slurping]

Cara says, I'LL HAVE TO FIND OTHER TOYS FOR HER. IT'LL HELP STIMULATE AZUR IN HER NEW ENVIRONMENT...

Cara says, I CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT!

Cara says, THAT'S VERY KIND, BUT THIS TIME, I'LL DO IT! YOU CAN TAKE A BREAK!

Audrey says, OH...

Cara leaves the enclosure and closes the gate behind her.

[Gate creaking, clanking, upbeat music plays, birds chirping]

Audrey says, ARGH!

Audrey kicks a rock.

[Clattering]

Audrey asks, DID YOU HEAR WHAT SHE SAID, TOMMY? NOW SHE DOESN'T WANT ANY HELP FROM ME!

Tommy says, I'M SURE SHE DIDN'T MEAN IT THAT WAY, AUDREY!

Audrey says, I'VE GOTTA PROVE TO HER THAT I CAN TAKE CARE OF AZUR AS WELL. OH!

[Azur panting loudly]

Audrey says, AZUR LOOKS HOT! SHE MUST BE THIRSTY!

Tommy says, OH!

Audrey says, I KNOW WHAT TO DO! I'M GONNA GET HER WATER!

Audrey runs past the ball. On the other side of the fence, the green bird stares intently at the ball. The bird squeezes their head through the fence.

[Green bird squawking, squeaking]

Tommy says, HEY, PACO, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SURVIVAL INSTINCT? AZUR IS A CHEETAH, AND SHE EATS BIRDS! LIKE YOU!

[Green bird, Paco, grunting]

Audrey runs past Tommy, carrying a hose. She kicks the ball as she passes.

[Audrey panting, ball squeaking, rustling, upbeat music plays]

Tommy says, DON'T GIVE HER TOO MUCH! CHEETAHS DON'T NEED TO DRINK EVERY DAY.

Audrey says, REALLY? I DIDN'T KNOW... AZUR! LET GO!

Azur tugs on the hose. She tears the end off and water sprays in the enclosure.

[Azur grumbling, splashing]

The hose sprays Cara. Azur runs to Cara and shakes water out of her fur.

[Splashing, rustling]

Cara says, AH!!

[Cara groaning, Audrey whimpering, Tommy grunting nervously, tense music plays]

Audrey runs away from Tommy and Cara.

Tommy says, NO, AUDREY! WAIT!

Karl opens the gate, and Audrey runs past him. The red ball bounces towards the gate.

[Audrey crying, clanking, ball squeaking]

Karl says, AUDREY! AAAH!

Karl falls to the ground.

[Whooshing, ball squeaking]

Karl says, TOMMY! AAAH! I NEED HELP!

Cara asks, KARL, ISN'T IT?

Karl says, HM!

Cara asks, CAN I HELP?

Karl says, CARA?!

Karl stands up.

[Whooshing, laughing nervously]

Karl says, NO, NO... IT'S OKAY! I'M GONNA... GO!

Cara says, I'LL GO WITH YOU! I NEED TO DRY MYSELF OFF.

[Footsteps rustling]

Karl says, AAH... DRY OFF? I'M COMING, CARA!

Karl pulls the gate shut behind him and follows Cara. The gate hits the ball and bounces open again. The ball bounces and Paco walks into the enclosure.

[Clanking, squeaking, whooshing, Paco grumbling, happy music plays]

In the jungle, Audrey sits on a branch with Jack. A bat hangs upside down on a branch nearby.

[Audrey crying, moaning softly, bat squeaking, leaves rustling, Jack grunting, sad music plays]

Audrey says, CARA MUST THINK THAT I'M USELESS!

Jack breaks a piece of fruit and gives half to Audrey.

[Squelching]

Audrey says, THANKS, JACK.

Tommy shouts, AUDREY!

Audrey hangs upside down from the branch.

[Leaves rustling]

Audrey says, HM? MM... WHAT?

[Munching fruit]

Tommy says, COME ON, GET DOWN, IT'S NO BIG DEAL.

Audrey says, I'M SO NERVOUS IN FRONT OF CARA THAT I'M MESSING EVERYTHING UP!

Tommy says, YOU KNOW, EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES SOMETIMES. AND I STILL THINK YOU'RE THE BEST! AND JACK AGREES!

Jack grabs Audrey and jumps down to the ground. He bounces her in the air.

[Jack hooting, Audrey laughing]

Audrey says, THANKS, TOMMY. YOU'RE RIGHT, AS ALWAYS! LET'S GO!

At the enclosure, Paco walks to the ball. Azur stalks him from behind the bushes.

[Suspenseful music plays, rustling, footsteps padding]

Tommy and Audrey approach the open enclosure gate.

Tommy says, I'M SURE EVEN CARA MAKES MISTAKES!

Audrey says, YOU THINK SO?

Tommy says, OF COURSE! NO! PACO'S GONE INTO THE ENCLOSURE!

Paco pikes up the ball. Behind him, Azur leaps out of the bushes and licks her lips.

[Ball squeaking, Azur vocalizing, growling, slurping]

Audrey asks, WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

By the pond, Karl stands on Cara’s back and reaches for his sketchbook.

[Karl grunting]

Karl says, THAT DARN RASCAL! THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE HERE, CARA!

Cara says, HMM...

Tommy distantly shouting, AZUR!

Cara says, HM?

[Thumping]

Karl dangles from the tree branch. Beneath him, Cara is gone.

Karl says, UH, CARA? CARA?

Tommy says, I'LL GO GET CARA.

Audrey says, NO, WE DON'T HAVE TIME! I'LL DISTRACT AZUR! YOU TAKE CARE OF PACO!

Audrey runs into the enclosure, leaping onto rocks and a tree. Audrey swings on a vine and grabs meat from the cooler. Paco flaps his wings and then turns away as Azur pounces.

[Panting, grunting, exciting music plays, thumping, flapping, squeaking]

Audrey waves the meat.

[Tense music plays]

Audrey says, LOOK!

She throws the meat and Azur chases it.

[Rustling, chirping]

Tommy grabs Pace and throws himself into a bush. Across the enclosure, Azur catches the meat.

[Exciting music plays, rustling, squeaking]

Tommy says, WHOA! PACO! YOU ALMOST ENDED UP A KAKAPO TACO!

Azur walks past with the meat.

[Exclaiming, leaves rustling]

Audrey says, PHEW!

Cara leans with a foot against a rock.

Cara says, WELL DONE, CHILDREN! THANK GOODNESS YOU WERE HERE!

[Gentle music plays]

Audrey asks, YOU'RE NOT MAD AT ME BECAUSE OF WHAT I DID BEFORE?

Cara says, NO! DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT! I'M REALLY IMPRESSED WITH YOU. I KNOW SHE'S IN REALLY GOOD HANDS NOW! THAT IS IF YOU WANT TO TAKE CARE OF HER!

Audrey says, UH... OF COURSE!

Azur looks at Audrey.

[Rustling, purring]

Later, in front of the greenhouse, Cara sits on her motorcycle.

Hector says, THANKS FOR HELPING US OUT WITH THIS, CARA! YOU CERTAINLY WERE A LIFESAVER!

Cara says, EVERYONE HERE IS A LIFESAVER!

Cara pulls down the visor. Audrey’s reflection has big eyes.

[Whirring, engine revving, upbeat music plays]

Hector shouts, SAFE TRAVELS!

Karl runs out of the greenhouse waving a piece of paper.

Karl says, CARA! WAIT! COME BACK! I'VE GOT A DRAWING FOR YOU! MMM...

Karl watches Cara drive away.

[Paper rustling]

Audrey says, OH, WOW! SO COOL!

Karl says, HM?

Audrey asks, CAN I HANG IT UP IN MY ROOM?

Karl says, SURE...

Audrey looks at the drawing of Cara and Azur leaping.

[Paper rustling, Audrey giggling, birds chirping]
