Inside the greenhouse, Audrey, a young girl with red hair in a ponytail, stands on a tree branch. She wears a yellow jacket over an olive green shirt, black pants, and brown boots. Audrey whistles and startles butterflies. Standing on a rock nearby, Tommy watches Jack, a gorilla, land on the branch beside Audrey. Tommy wears a pale blue long-sleeve shirt and pale grey pants. Audrey swings on a vine with a golden lion tamarin clinging to her head. Tommy rides on Jack’s back as Jack swings from a second vine.
A person sings, OH, CAN YOU HEAR THEM, ANIMALS ARE CALLING. THEY ARE IN DANGER.
Audrey stands as she slides down a rock past Karl and Pat. Karl, a slender young man with black hair, watches Audrey slide past. He wears an olive green vest, a dark green hat, a yellow shirt, red pants, and red-rimmed eyeglasses. Pat bottle-feeds a large grey kitten with black spots. Her black hair is pulled into a ponytail, and she wears an olive green vest and a yellow tee shirt. Tommy rides Jack down the rock.

She wears a pink jacket, a blue shirt, and brown pants. Audrey’s dad, Hector, holds a bamboo shoot. He has short black hair and a dark grey beard. He wears a stethoscope, a grey shirt, and dark green pants.
The singer sings, NATURE'S OUR PASSION, READY FOR ACTION.
Audrey and Jack, still carrying Tommy, run past Jonas, a man with curly red hair. He lifts a rake over his head and spins as they pass.
[Whooshing, upbeat music continues]

Audrey pulls leaves to the side and reveals Tommy in a clearing with Jack, a giraffe, an elephant, and a gazelle.

Canadian geese fly over the greenhouse. The tall iron gates in front of the Shelter are open. Tommy rides his red bicycle down the path, and white bird feces fall on his shoulder.
[Honking, bicycle rattling, plopping]
Tommy says, HMM? HMM?
[Chuckling]
On the plains, Tommy rides his bicycle through an open gate. Audrey peers through binoculars. Jack sits beside her and scratches his head.
[Bicycle rattling, geese honking, animals vocalizing]
Audrey says, WHOA! YOU WANNA HAVE A LOOK, JACK?
Jack takes the binoculars and shakes them.
[Jack ooking]
Tommy says, HELLO, AUDREY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING?
Audrey says, HI THERE, TOMMY. I'M WATCHING A FLOCK OF CANADIAN GEESE THAT JUST ARRIVED. THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY SOUTH, BUT THEY'RE TAKING A BIT OF A REST HERE.
A flock of Canadian geese flies overhead. Below, Canadian geese stand around a pond. A few swim in the water. Jack watches Tommy and Audrey through the binoculars.
[Background honking]
Tommy says, WILD GEESE?! WHOA! HUNTING ALMOST MADE THEM EXTINCT.
Audrey says, YES, BUT NOW THERE ARE LAWS TO PROTECT THEM, THEY'RE NO LONGER IN DANGER.
Audrey takes the binoculars from Jack and looks at Tommy’s shoulder.
[Whooshing, tense music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. MM-MM. LOOKS LIKE YOU ALREADY MET THEM.
Tommy says, ME?
Audrey says, LOOK.
Tommy wipes the feces off his shoulder.
[Tommy exclaiming, whooshing]
Tommy says, THAT'S DISGUSTING!
Audrey says, DON'T WORRY. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BRING GOOD LUCK.
[Geese honking]
Audrey looks through the binoculars at a good lying on the shore.
Audrey says, OH, THAT ONE LOOKS HURT.
Audrey carefully approaches the goose.
[Footsteps rustling]
Audrey says, MM-HMM. MM-HMM. MM-MM.
The goose stands and backs away from Audrey, dragging their right wing on the grass.
Audrey says, IT'S OKAY, LITTLE ONE.
[Honking]
Tommy says, HUH.
Audrey pets the goose’s head.
[Honking]
Audrey says, DON'T BE SCARED. WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU. MY DAD'S THE BEST VETERINARIAN.
Audrey hugs the goose.
[Honking, rustling]
Later at the Veterinary clinic, the Canadian goose sits on a table in an examination room. Audrey and Tommy hold the edge of the table and watch Hector.
[Upbeat music plays gently]
Audrey says, SO, DAD, HOW'S WAWA?
[Hector chuckling]
Hector says, WAWA? YOU'VE ALREADY NAMED HIM?
Audrey says, OF COURSE. IT'S BETTER THAN JUST CALLING HIM "THE WILD GOOSE."
Hector unwinds a roll of bandages.
[Bandage clicking, rustling]
Hector says, HMM. WELL, HERE'S MY DIAGNOSIS, YOUNG WAWA. IT'S NOTHING TOO SERIOUS. IT'S JUST A SPRAINED WING.
Hector wraps the goose, Wawa’s, wing.
Audrey says, YOU SEE? WHAT'D I TELL YOU? MY DAD'LL GET YOU BACK ON YOUR FEET IN NO TIME.
Hector says, DON'T GET TOO ATTACHED TO WAWA, AUDREY. ONCE THEY'VE HAD A REST, THAT FLOCK OF GEESE IS GOING TO KEEP MIGRATING SOUTH. AND RIGHT NOW, WE'VE GOT TO MAKE SURE WAWA CAN FOLLOW THEM. HE NEEDS TO REST BEFORE HE STARTS THE REHABILITATION EXERCISES THAT YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE HIM DO.
[Audrey and Tommy giggling]
Hector says, FOR NOW, YOU CAN TAKE HIM BACK TO BE WITH HIS FRIENDS.
[Chuckling]
On the plains, Tommy shakes a bag of seeds in front of Wawa. Audrey smiles and holds Wawa on her lap. Jack lies by the pond and looks up through the binoculars. A goose rests on his stomach.
[Seeds rustling, honking, Tommy giggling, happy music plays]
They make a trail of seeds, and Wawa follows it.
Tommy says, OH.
[Giggling, honking]
Audrey cheers, YAY!
By the pond, Jonas stands up and wipes his brow.
Jonas says, WHEW. HMM.
Tommy and Audrey run behind him.
[Children laughing]
Jonas says, HMM?
Tommy trips over a rock, and the bag of seeds lands in nearby bushes.
[Thumping, leaves rustling]
Tommy says, WHOA! OH! OW.
Wawa runs past Tommy into the bushes.
[Honking, leaves rustling]
Tommy says, HMM? NO! WAWA, COME BACK!
[Audrey gasping]
Tommy and Audrey crawl beneath the bushes.
[Rustling]
Tommy and Audrey say, OH!
In a clearing, Wawa runs to a hangar and slips through a gap between the doors. A rusty chain with a padlock holds the doors together.
[Leaves rustling]
Tommy asks, DID YOU KNOW THERE WAS A HANGAR HERE?
Audrey says, NO, I DIDN'T.
[Honking, padding footsteps]
Audrey says, OH, LOOK. WAWA WENT INSIDE! OKAY, COME ON.
Tommy says, UH...
They slip between the doors and enter the shadowy hangar.
[Door creaking, gentle music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. HMM?
Both say, HMM.
[Honking, light zapping]
Audrey says, HMM. THAT WAY!
Tommy says, HUH?
Audrey says, THIS LITTLE RASCAL ONLY WANTS TO EAT SEEDS.
Audrey picks up Wawa.
[Rustling]
Audrey says, UH, TOMMY?
Tommy looks up at an airplane.
Tommy says, OH, WOW!
[Chiming]
Audrey says, OH, WOW!
Tommy says, MM-MM.
Tommy runs to a cabinet with a trophy on top and puts on a pilot’s hat.
[Tommy laughing]
Tommy says, OH... ROGER THAT! OH! THAT'S AMAZING!
Pictures, trophies, and medallions cover shelves on the walls.
Audrey says, HMM?
Tommy says, SEE THAT? IT'S JONAS!
Audrey says, OH!
Tommy says, IT MUST BE HIS HANGAR! DID YOU KNOW HE WAS A PILOT?
Audrey says, MM-MM.
By the pond, Jonas rakes leaves. Audrey and Tommy, wearing pilot hats, run towards him. Audrey holds Wawa.
[Jonas humming, rake scraping, geese honking, children laughing]
Tommy says, CONTROL TOWER, PERMISSION TO LAND! OVER!
[Upbeat music plays, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, THIS IS CONTROL TOWER! PERMISSION TO LAND GRANTED!
Both say, VROOM! VROOM! VROOM!
(LAUGHTER)
Jonas says, WHOA, WHOA. WATCH THE NEW GRASS THERE, PILOTS. WHAT THE...? HOLY PHILODENDRON! WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT?
Tommy says, IT WAS IN YOUR HANGAR.
Jonas says, HUH? WHAT, UH, WHAT HANGAR? I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. HMM.
[Jack grunting]
Audrey says, HMM? YOU KNOW. THE HANGAR WHERE YOU KEEP YOUR PLANE.
Jonas says, UH... NEVER SEEN IT. AND ANYWAY, IT'S NOT A PLANE. IT'S AN ULTRALIGHT.
Tommy says, THEN HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S AN ULTRALIGHT, JONAS?
Jonas says, UH...
The children say, HMM?
Jonas says, OH, ALRIGHT, YOU GOT ME THERE, KIDS. THAT OLD MACHINE'S MINE. I FLEW IT YEARS AGO, BUT THEN I STOPPED.
Audrey asks, BUT WHY ARE YOU HIDING IT? IT'S AWESOME!
Jonas says, EVER SINCE I LOST THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, I SWORE I'D NEVER FLY AGAIN.
Tommy says, REALLY? THAT'S SUCH A SHAME. YOU GAVE UP YOUR LIFELONG PASSION BECAUSE YOU LOST?
Jonas says, IT WASN'T YOUR RUN-OF-THE-MILL ORDINARY DEFEAT. I NEEDED ONE MORE TROPHY TO ENTER THE HISTORY BOOKS.
In a flashback, Jonas flies his Ultralight.
[Engine rumbling]
An announcer says, JONAS THE WASP, THE PILOT PRODIGY, OH! OH, NO! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!
A pilot in a second Ultralight flies past Jonas.
The announcer says, THE BIG FAVOURITE TO WIN THIS WHOLE RACE HAS JUST BEEN OVERTAKEN!
Jonas says, OH...
The announcer says, WILL HE EVER WANT TO FLY AGAIN AFTER THIS HORRIBLE DEFEAT?
The flashback ends.
[Gentle music plays, geese honking]
Jonas says, BUT ALL THAT'S IN THE PAST NOW. THE PLANTS SAVED ME. NOW I KEEP MY FEET FIRMLY ON THE GROUND TO BE IN PERFECT HARMONY WITH MOTHER NATURE.
Audrey says, HMM?
Tommy says, POOR GUY. THAT DID HIM IN.
Canadian geese take off from the pond.
[Water splashing, honking]
Audrey and Tommy say, HMM.
Audrey and Tommy say, OH.
[Honking]
Audrey says, HMM? I'M SURE JONAS MISSES IT. BUT DON'T YOU WORRY. YOU'LL BE FLYING AGAIN IN NO TIME.
In the Veterinary clinic, Hector removes Wawa’s bandages.
[Suspenseful music plays]
Hector asks, WHO ARE THE BEST VETERINARY ASSISTANTS IN THE WORLD? YOU TWO ARE!
[Laughter, flapping]
Hector says, WAWA CAN FLAP HIS WING AGAIN. THAT MEANS HE CAN START HIS REHABILITATION.
In the jungle, Tommy shakes the bag of seeds. He holds one in his hand above Wawa’s head.
[Upbeat music plays, seeds rustling, Wawa honking, flapping]
Audrey says, HMM.
Wawa flies up but cannot reach the seed.
[Tommy giggling, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, HMM?
Both say, HMM...
By a pond, Audrey and Tommy run, flapping their arms. Wawa runs beside Audrey, flapping his wings.
[Laughter, upbeat music plays]
On the shore, Audrey and Tommy watch Wawa take off.
[Flapping, splashing]
Audrey says, HUH?
Wawa stands in the shallow water.
[Croaking]
In the jungle, Audrey and Wawa ride on Jack’s back. He swings on a vine.
[Wind gusting]
Audrey says, GO ON, WAWA!
On the ground, Tommy says, MM!
Audrey says, YOU CAN DO IT!
Audrey lets go of Wawa, and he flies beside her.
[Honking, flapping, epic music plays]
Audrey cheers, WHOO-HOO! YAY!
[Laughing]
Audrey cheers, OH, WELL DONE! GOOD JOB! YEAH! AWESOME!
Wawa flies lower and smacks into Tommy’s face. They both fall.
[Crashing]
Tommy shouts, OH!
[Tommy groaning, grunting, Audrey laughing, Tommy sighing, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, NOW YOU CAN FINALLY JOIN YOUR FAMILY.
Hector runs to Audrey, Tommy, and Jack.
[Hector panting]
Hector says, HEY, KIDS! THE GEESE ARE TAKING OFF! IS WAWA READY?
Tommy says, AFFIRMATIVE! LET'S HURRY!
Tommy releases Wawa, and he flies over Hector’s head.
[Flapping, Wawa honking, everyone panting]
Audrey says, WE'RE NOT GONNA GET THERE IN TIME!
When they arrive at the pond, the geese are gone. Jonas rakes grass on the other side of the water.
Audrey says, WAIT. OH, NO! HE'LL NEVER FIND THE MIGRATION ROUTE BY HIMSELF! THIS IS AWFUL FOR WAWA!
Jonas says, HMM? HOLY SEQUOIA BARK! WHAT'S THAT GOOSE STILL DOING HERE? HIS FRIENDS HAVE ALL LEFT!
Wawa runs back and forth on the shore.
[Wawa honking]
Audrey says, WE'VE JUST GOTTA HELP WAWA GET TO HIS FAMILY. HE'LL BE LOST WITHOUT THEM.
Hector says, WE'LL COME UP WITH SOMETHING, SWEETIE. BUT THEY MUST BE MILES AWAY BY NOW.
[Animals vocalizing, gentle music plays]
Tommy says, YEAH, IT'S NOT LIKE WE CAN FLY AND CATCH UP TO THEM.
Audrey says, HEY, WAIT! I THINK I KNOW HOW WE CAN SAVE HIM! WE'VE GOT A PILOT HERE AT THE REFUGE WHO CAN GUIDE HIM TO THEM!
Jonas says, OH! NO, NO AND NO! THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY! WELL, ACTUALLY, I COULD, BUT I SWORE I'D NEVER FLY AGAIN. AND I'M STICKING TO IT!
[Wawa honking]
Audrey says, BUT WAWA NEEDS HELP TO FIND HIS FAMILY! YOU'RE HIS LAST HOPE, JONAS.
Tommy says, IF AUDREY KNEW HOW TO FLY THAT ULTRALIGHT, SHE'D DO IT HERSELF!
[Honking]
Audrey picks up Wawa and carries him to Jonas. She looks up at Jonas with big, teary eyes.
[Sad music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. HMM. WHAT IF HIS FAMILY NEVER COMES BACK HERE AGAIN? YOU'VE JUST GOTTA HELP US OUT.
Jonas says, HMM?
[Plaintive honking, Audrey sniffling]
Jonas says, MM... OH, I... OH, I REALLY HOPE I DON'T REGRET DOING THIS.
Jonas drops his rake.
[Audrey gasping, clanking]
Jonas says, I'M GONNA NEED A CO-PILOT.
[Audrey laughing]
Later, Jonas and Audrey sit in the Ultralight. Nearby, Hector, Jack, and Tommy watch.
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie CONTROL TOWER TO WILD GOOSE MISSION, RUNWAY IS CLEAR FOR TAKEOFF!
[Static hissing, Audrey laughing, tense music plays]
Jonas says, YES, UH, FUEL IS GOOD, BRAKES ARE GOOD. PROPELLER GOOD.
[Audrey giggling, beeping]
Hector says, OH...
Tommy says, IT'S CRAZY THAT JONAS IS A GOOD PILOT EVEN THOUGH HE'S AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
Hector says, WHAT?! SHE'S GOTTA GET OFF THAT PLANE!
Hector grabs the walkie-talkie.
[Clicking]
Hector says into the walkie-talkie, AUDREY, JONAS IS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
Jonas replies, NOT WHEN I'M FLYING. IN THE AIR, I'M THE ONE WHO'S IN CONTROL.
Jonas pulls goggles down over his eyes.
[Propeller whirring]
Audrey cheers, COME ON, JONAS!
Jonas says, HANG ON, AUDREY! WE'RE HEADIN' FOR THE CLOUDS!
Audrey says, YAY!
[Laughing, exciting music plays]
On the ground, Tommy, Hector, and Jack run.
[Hector panting]
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie, OKAY, GET READY! WAWA WILL BE JOINING YOU VERY SOON!
Jonas says, ROGER THAT. WE'RE GONNA FLY OVER THE POND WHILE I FINISH THE ADJUSTMENTS.
At the pond, Tommy picks up Wawa.
[Panting, honking]
Tommy says, IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO TAKE OFF! ALRIGHT, JACK, WE'RE READY TO GO!
Tommy rides on Jack’s back and holds Wawa up in the air.
[Tommy exclaiming, Jack grunting]
Tommy says, GO ON!
[Audrey whimpering, engine whirring, flapping]
Tommy says, GO ON, YOU CAN DO IT!
[Honking, flapping]
Tommy says, YEAH! WELL DONE, JACK!
Wawa flies beside the ultralight.
[Honking]
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie, TOMMY TO AUDREY. WAWA IS IN FLIGHT.
Audrey says into her microphone, WE ROGER THAT, TOMMY!
Audrey says, YOU HANDLED THAT LIKE A BOSS, CAPTAIN JONAS!
[Jonas laughing, gentle music plays]
Jonas says, THANKS, AUDREY. I'M NOT AS RUSTY AS I THOUGHT!
Audrey says, GOOD JOB, WAWA! THAT'S PERFECT! GREAT FLYING! KEEP GOING JUST LIKE THAT!
[Honking, flapping, Audrey giggling]
Audrey says, COME ON, JONAS, LET'S GO FIND HIS FAMILY!
Majestic music plays]
Later, Wawa flies above the clouds beside the Ultralight.
[Wind gusting, engine whirring, soft music plays]
Jonas says, STILL DON'T SEE ANYTHING?
Audrey says, MM-MM.
Jonas says, I THINK WE'LL HAVE TO GIVE UP, AUDREY. I'M NOT THE PILOT I USED TO BE.
Audrey says, YOU CAN'T SAY THAT, JONAS! WAWA'S COUNTING ON US! OH?
[Honking]
Audrey says, OH...
Jonas says, I SHOULDA KNOWN THIS FLIGHT WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I'M SORRY, AUDREY. I'M TURNING AROUND.
Jonas turns the Ultralight.
Audrey points and says, OH! NO! LOOK OVER THERE!
Jonas says, HMM?
The flock of geese flies in a V todays the sun.
[Both laughing]
Jonas says, HOLY FOUR-LEAF CLOVER!
[Laughter, Audrey whooping]
Jonas says, HMM?
The geese fly further away.
In a flashback, Jonas watches the other pilot pass him in the race.
The announcer says, AND UNFORTUNATELY, THE GAP IS DEFINITELY WIDENING BETWEEN JONAS THE WASP AND AUGUSTIN THE HORNET!
[Announcer laughing]
The flashback ends.
In the present, Jonas flies the Ultralight.
[Wawa honking]
Jonas says, HMM! HUH?
[Honking]
Jonas says, COME ON, JONAS, GET A GRIP! YOU CAN DO THIS!
Jonas flies closer to the migrating geese.
[Epic music plays, engine whirring]
Audrey shouts, LOOK, WAWA! THERE'S YOUR FAMILY!
Wawa joins the other Canadian geese.
[Honking]
Audrey says, SAFE MIGRATION TO THE SOUTH, WAWA!
Jonas says, COME BACK AND SEE US NEXT YEAR!
[Honking]
[Audrey sniffling]
Audrey says, OH!
[Honking, Jonas sniffling]
A feather falls from Wawa as he flies. It hits Jonas’s nose.
Jonas says, OH!
[Laughter]
Later, in the hangar, Jonas holds the feather in a small display case.
[Birds singing, upbeat music plays]
Audrey says, YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR LAST TROPHY.
Jonas says, HOLY ROMAINE LETTUCE! THANKS A LOT, KIDS. I OWE YOU A DEBT OF GRATITUDE. I NEVER THOUGHT THIS OLD BUCKET OF BOLTS WOULD FLY AGAIN.
Tommy says, OH, COME ON. DON'T SAY THAT, JONAS. YOU'VE GOT MANY GOOD YEARS OF FLYING AHEAD OF YOU.
Jonas says, UH... MM-HMM...

She wears a pink jacket, a blue shirt, and brown pants. Audrey’s dad, Hector, holds a bamboo shoot. He has short black hair and a dark grey beard. He wears a stethoscope, a grey shirt, and dark green pants.
The singer sings, NATURE'S OUR PASSION, READY FOR ACTION.
Audrey and Jack, still carrying Tommy, run past Jonas, a man with curly red hair. He lifts a rake over his head and spins as they pass.
[Whooshing, upbeat music continues]

Audrey pulls leaves to the side and reveals Tommy in a clearing with Jack, a giraffe, an elephant, and a gazelle.

Canadian geese fly over the greenhouse. The tall iron gates in front of the Shelter are open. Tommy rides his red bicycle down the path, and white bird feces fall on his shoulder.
[Honking, bicycle rattling, plopping]
Tommy says, HMM? HMM?
[Chuckling]
On the plains, Tommy rides his bicycle through an open gate. Audrey peers through binoculars. Jack sits beside her and scratches his head.
[Bicycle rattling, geese honking, animals vocalizing]
Audrey says, WHOA! YOU WANNA HAVE A LOOK, JACK?
Jack takes the binoculars and shakes them.
[Jack ooking]
Tommy says, HELLO, AUDREY! WHAT'RE YOU DOING?
Audrey says, HI THERE, TOMMY. I'M WATCHING A FLOCK OF CANADIAN GEESE THAT JUST ARRIVED. THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY SOUTH, BUT THEY'RE TAKING A BIT OF A REST HERE.
A flock of Canadian geese flies overhead. Below, Canadian geese stand around a pond. A few swim in the water. Jack watches Tommy and Audrey through the binoculars.
[Background honking]
Tommy says, WILD GEESE?! WHOA! HUNTING ALMOST MADE THEM EXTINCT.
Audrey says, YES, BUT NOW THERE ARE LAWS TO PROTECT THEM, THEY'RE NO LONGER IN DANGER.
Audrey takes the binoculars from Jack and looks at Tommy’s shoulder.
[Whooshing, tense music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. MM-MM. LOOKS LIKE YOU ALREADY MET THEM.
Tommy says, ME?
Audrey says, LOOK.
Tommy wipes the feces off his shoulder.
[Tommy exclaiming, whooshing]
Tommy says, THAT'S DISGUSTING!
Audrey says, DON'T WORRY. IT'S SUPPOSED TO BRING GOOD LUCK.
[Geese honking]
Audrey looks through the binoculars at a good lying on the shore.
Audrey says, OH, THAT ONE LOOKS HURT.
Audrey carefully approaches the goose.
[Footsteps rustling]
Audrey says, MM-HMM. MM-HMM. MM-MM.
The goose stands and backs away from Audrey, dragging their right wing on the grass.
Audrey says, IT'S OKAY, LITTLE ONE.
[Honking]
Tommy says, HUH.
Audrey pets the goose’s head.
[Honking]
Audrey says, DON'T BE SCARED. WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU. MY DAD'S THE BEST VETERINARIAN.
Audrey hugs the goose.
[Honking, rustling]
Later at the Veterinary clinic, the Canadian goose sits on a table in an examination room. Audrey and Tommy hold the edge of the table and watch Hector.
[Upbeat music plays gently]
Audrey says, SO, DAD, HOW'S WAWA?
[Hector chuckling]
Hector says, WAWA? YOU'VE ALREADY NAMED HIM?
Audrey says, OF COURSE. IT'S BETTER THAN JUST CALLING HIM "THE WILD GOOSE."
Hector unwinds a roll of bandages.
[Bandage clicking, rustling]
Hector says, HMM. WELL, HERE'S MY DIAGNOSIS, YOUNG WAWA. IT'S NOTHING TOO SERIOUS. IT'S JUST A SPRAINED WING.
Hector wraps the goose, Wawa’s, wing.
Audrey says, YOU SEE? WHAT'D I TELL YOU? MY DAD'LL GET YOU BACK ON YOUR FEET IN NO TIME.
Hector says, DON'T GET TOO ATTACHED TO WAWA, AUDREY. ONCE THEY'VE HAD A REST, THAT FLOCK OF GEESE IS GOING TO KEEP MIGRATING SOUTH. AND RIGHT NOW, WE'VE GOT TO MAKE SURE WAWA CAN FOLLOW THEM. HE NEEDS TO REST BEFORE HE STARTS THE REHABILITATION EXERCISES THAT YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE HIM DO.
[Audrey and Tommy giggling]
Hector says, FOR NOW, YOU CAN TAKE HIM BACK TO BE WITH HIS FRIENDS.
[Chuckling]
On the plains, Tommy shakes a bag of seeds in front of Wawa. Audrey smiles and holds Wawa on her lap. Jack lies by the pond and looks up through the binoculars. A goose rests on his stomach.
[Seeds rustling, honking, Tommy giggling, happy music plays]
They make a trail of seeds, and Wawa follows it.
Tommy says, OH.
[Giggling, honking]
Audrey cheers, YAY!
By the pond, Jonas stands up and wipes his brow.
Jonas says, WHEW. HMM.
Tommy and Audrey run behind him.
[Children laughing]
Jonas says, HMM?
Tommy trips over a rock, and the bag of seeds lands in nearby bushes.
[Thumping, leaves rustling]
Tommy says, WHOA! OH! OW.
Wawa runs past Tommy into the bushes.
[Honking, leaves rustling]
Tommy says, HMM? NO! WAWA, COME BACK!
[Audrey gasping]
Tommy and Audrey crawl beneath the bushes.
[Rustling]
Tommy and Audrey say, OH!
In a clearing, Wawa runs to a hangar and slips through a gap between the doors. A rusty chain with a padlock holds the doors together.
[Leaves rustling]
Tommy asks, DID YOU KNOW THERE WAS A HANGAR HERE?
Audrey says, NO, I DIDN'T.
[Honking, padding footsteps]
Audrey says, OH, LOOK. WAWA WENT INSIDE! OKAY, COME ON.
Tommy says, UH...
They slip between the doors and enter the shadowy hangar.
[Door creaking, gentle music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. HMM?
Both say, HMM.
[Honking, light zapping]
Audrey says, HMM. THAT WAY!
Tommy says, HUH?
Audrey says, THIS LITTLE RASCAL ONLY WANTS TO EAT SEEDS.
Audrey picks up Wawa.
[Rustling]
Audrey says, UH, TOMMY?
Tommy looks up at an airplane.
Tommy says, OH, WOW!
[Chiming]
Audrey says, OH, WOW!
Tommy says, MM-MM.
Tommy runs to a cabinet with a trophy on top and puts on a pilot’s hat.
[Tommy laughing]
Tommy says, OH... ROGER THAT! OH! THAT'S AMAZING!
Pictures, trophies, and medallions cover shelves on the walls.
Audrey says, HMM?
Tommy says, SEE THAT? IT'S JONAS!
Audrey says, OH!
Tommy says, IT MUST BE HIS HANGAR! DID YOU KNOW HE WAS A PILOT?
Audrey says, MM-MM.
By the pond, Jonas rakes leaves. Audrey and Tommy, wearing pilot hats, run towards him. Audrey holds Wawa.
[Jonas humming, rake scraping, geese honking, children laughing]
Tommy says, CONTROL TOWER, PERMISSION TO LAND! OVER!
[Upbeat music plays, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, THIS IS CONTROL TOWER! PERMISSION TO LAND GRANTED!
Both say, VROOM! VROOM! VROOM!
(LAUGHTER)
Jonas says, WHOA, WHOA. WATCH THE NEW GRASS THERE, PILOTS. WHAT THE...? HOLY PHILODENDRON! WHERE DID YOU FIND THAT?
Tommy says, IT WAS IN YOUR HANGAR.
Jonas says, HUH? WHAT, UH, WHAT HANGAR? I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. HMM.
[Jack grunting]
Audrey says, HMM? YOU KNOW. THE HANGAR WHERE YOU KEEP YOUR PLANE.
Jonas says, UH... NEVER SEEN IT. AND ANYWAY, IT'S NOT A PLANE. IT'S AN ULTRALIGHT.
Tommy says, THEN HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S AN ULTRALIGHT, JONAS?
Jonas says, UH...
The children say, HMM?
Jonas says, OH, ALRIGHT, YOU GOT ME THERE, KIDS. THAT OLD MACHINE'S MINE. I FLEW IT YEARS AGO, BUT THEN I STOPPED.
Audrey asks, BUT WHY ARE YOU HIDING IT? IT'S AWESOME!
Jonas says, EVER SINCE I LOST THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, I SWORE I'D NEVER FLY AGAIN.
Tommy says, REALLY? THAT'S SUCH A SHAME. YOU GAVE UP YOUR LIFELONG PASSION BECAUSE YOU LOST?
Jonas says, IT WASN'T YOUR RUN-OF-THE-MILL ORDINARY DEFEAT. I NEEDED ONE MORE TROPHY TO ENTER THE HISTORY BOOKS.
In a flashback, Jonas flies his Ultralight.
[Engine rumbling]
An announcer says, JONAS THE WASP, THE PILOT PRODIGY, OH! OH, NO! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!
A pilot in a second Ultralight flies past Jonas.
The announcer says, THE BIG FAVOURITE TO WIN THIS WHOLE RACE HAS JUST BEEN OVERTAKEN!
Jonas says, OH...
The announcer says, WILL HE EVER WANT TO FLY AGAIN AFTER THIS HORRIBLE DEFEAT?
The flashback ends.
[Gentle music plays, geese honking]
Jonas says, BUT ALL THAT'S IN THE PAST NOW. THE PLANTS SAVED ME. NOW I KEEP MY FEET FIRMLY ON THE GROUND TO BE IN PERFECT HARMONY WITH MOTHER NATURE.
Audrey says, HMM?
Tommy says, POOR GUY. THAT DID HIM IN.
Canadian geese take off from the pond.
[Water splashing, honking]
Audrey and Tommy say, HMM.
Audrey and Tommy say, OH.
[Honking]
Audrey says, HMM? I'M SURE JONAS MISSES IT. BUT DON'T YOU WORRY. YOU'LL BE FLYING AGAIN IN NO TIME.
In the Veterinary clinic, Hector removes Wawa’s bandages.
[Suspenseful music plays]
Hector asks, WHO ARE THE BEST VETERINARY ASSISTANTS IN THE WORLD? YOU TWO ARE!
[Laughter, flapping]
Hector says, WAWA CAN FLAP HIS WING AGAIN. THAT MEANS HE CAN START HIS REHABILITATION.
In the jungle, Tommy shakes the bag of seeds. He holds one in his hand above Wawa’s head.
[Upbeat music plays, seeds rustling, Wawa honking, flapping]
Audrey says, HMM.
Wawa flies up but cannot reach the seed.
[Tommy giggling, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, HMM?
Both say, HMM...
By a pond, Audrey and Tommy run, flapping their arms. Wawa runs beside Audrey, flapping his wings.
[Laughter, upbeat music plays]
On the shore, Audrey and Tommy watch Wawa take off.
[Flapping, splashing]
Audrey says, HUH?
Wawa stands in the shallow water.
[Croaking]
In the jungle, Audrey and Wawa ride on Jack’s back. He swings on a vine.
[Wind gusting]
Audrey says, GO ON, WAWA!
On the ground, Tommy says, MM!
Audrey says, YOU CAN DO IT!
Audrey lets go of Wawa, and he flies beside her.
[Honking, flapping, epic music plays]
Audrey cheers, WHOO-HOO! YAY!
[Laughing]
Audrey cheers, OH, WELL DONE! GOOD JOB! YEAH! AWESOME!
Wawa flies lower and smacks into Tommy’s face. They both fall.
[Crashing]
Tommy shouts, OH!
[Tommy groaning, grunting, Audrey laughing, Tommy sighing, Wawa honking]
Audrey says, NOW YOU CAN FINALLY JOIN YOUR FAMILY.
Hector runs to Audrey, Tommy, and Jack.
[Hector panting]
Hector says, HEY, KIDS! THE GEESE ARE TAKING OFF! IS WAWA READY?
Tommy says, AFFIRMATIVE! LET'S HURRY!
Tommy releases Wawa, and he flies over Hector’s head.
[Flapping, Wawa honking, everyone panting]
Audrey says, WE'RE NOT GONNA GET THERE IN TIME!
When they arrive at the pond, the geese are gone. Jonas rakes grass on the other side of the water.
Audrey says, WAIT. OH, NO! HE'LL NEVER FIND THE MIGRATION ROUTE BY HIMSELF! THIS IS AWFUL FOR WAWA!
Jonas says, HMM? HOLY SEQUOIA BARK! WHAT'S THAT GOOSE STILL DOING HERE? HIS FRIENDS HAVE ALL LEFT!
Wawa runs back and forth on the shore.
[Wawa honking]
Audrey says, WE'VE JUST GOTTA HELP WAWA GET TO HIS FAMILY. HE'LL BE LOST WITHOUT THEM.
Hector says, WE'LL COME UP WITH SOMETHING, SWEETIE. BUT THEY MUST BE MILES AWAY BY NOW.
[Animals vocalizing, gentle music plays]
Tommy says, YEAH, IT'S NOT LIKE WE CAN FLY AND CATCH UP TO THEM.
Audrey says, HEY, WAIT! I THINK I KNOW HOW WE CAN SAVE HIM! WE'VE GOT A PILOT HERE AT THE REFUGE WHO CAN GUIDE HIM TO THEM!
Jonas says, OH! NO, NO AND NO! THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY! WELL, ACTUALLY, I COULD, BUT I SWORE I'D NEVER FLY AGAIN. AND I'M STICKING TO IT!
[Wawa honking]
Audrey says, BUT WAWA NEEDS HELP TO FIND HIS FAMILY! YOU'RE HIS LAST HOPE, JONAS.
Tommy says, IF AUDREY KNEW HOW TO FLY THAT ULTRALIGHT, SHE'D DO IT HERSELF!
[Honking]
Audrey picks up Wawa and carries him to Jonas. She looks up at Jonas with big, teary eyes.
[Sad music plays]
Audrey says, HMM. HMM. WHAT IF HIS FAMILY NEVER COMES BACK HERE AGAIN? YOU'VE JUST GOTTA HELP US OUT.
Jonas says, HMM?
[Plaintive honking, Audrey sniffling]
Jonas says, MM... OH, I... OH, I REALLY HOPE I DON'T REGRET DOING THIS.
Jonas drops his rake.
[Audrey gasping, clanking]
Jonas says, I'M GONNA NEED A CO-PILOT.
[Audrey laughing]
Later, Jonas and Audrey sit in the Ultralight. Nearby, Hector, Jack, and Tommy watch.
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie CONTROL TOWER TO WILD GOOSE MISSION, RUNWAY IS CLEAR FOR TAKEOFF!
[Static hissing, Audrey laughing, tense music plays]
Jonas says, YES, UH, FUEL IS GOOD, BRAKES ARE GOOD. PROPELLER GOOD.
[Audrey giggling, beeping]
Hector says, OH...
Tommy says, IT'S CRAZY THAT JONAS IS A GOOD PILOT EVEN THOUGH HE'S AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
Hector says, WHAT?! SHE'S GOTTA GET OFF THAT PLANE!
Hector grabs the walkie-talkie.
[Clicking]
Hector says into the walkie-talkie, AUDREY, JONAS IS AFRAID OF HEIGHTS!
Jonas replies, NOT WHEN I'M FLYING. IN THE AIR, I'M THE ONE WHO'S IN CONTROL.
Jonas pulls goggles down over his eyes.
[Propeller whirring]
Audrey cheers, COME ON, JONAS!
Jonas says, HANG ON, AUDREY! WE'RE HEADIN' FOR THE CLOUDS!
Audrey says, YAY!
[Laughing, exciting music plays]
On the ground, Tommy, Hector, and Jack run.
[Hector panting]
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie, OKAY, GET READY! WAWA WILL BE JOINING YOU VERY SOON!
Jonas says, ROGER THAT. WE'RE GONNA FLY OVER THE POND WHILE I FINISH THE ADJUSTMENTS.
At the pond, Tommy picks up Wawa.
[Panting, honking]
Tommy says, IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO TAKE OFF! ALRIGHT, JACK, WE'RE READY TO GO!
Tommy rides on Jack’s back and holds Wawa up in the air.
[Tommy exclaiming, Jack grunting]
Tommy says, GO ON!
[Audrey whimpering, engine whirring, flapping]
Tommy says, GO ON, YOU CAN DO IT!
[Honking, flapping]
Tommy says, YEAH! WELL DONE, JACK!
Wawa flies beside the ultralight.
[Honking]
Tommy says into his walkie-talkie, TOMMY TO AUDREY. WAWA IS IN FLIGHT.
Audrey says into her microphone, WE ROGER THAT, TOMMY!
Audrey says, YOU HANDLED THAT LIKE A BOSS, CAPTAIN JONAS!
[Jonas laughing, gentle music plays]
Jonas says, THANKS, AUDREY. I'M NOT AS RUSTY AS I THOUGHT!
Audrey says, GOOD JOB, WAWA! THAT'S PERFECT! GREAT FLYING! KEEP GOING JUST LIKE THAT!
[Honking, flapping, Audrey giggling]
Audrey says, COME ON, JONAS, LET'S GO FIND HIS FAMILY!
Majestic music plays]
Later, Wawa flies above the clouds beside the Ultralight.
[Wind gusting, engine whirring, soft music plays]
Jonas says, STILL DON'T SEE ANYTHING?
Audrey says, MM-MM.
Jonas says, I THINK WE'LL HAVE TO GIVE UP, AUDREY. I'M NOT THE PILOT I USED TO BE.
Audrey says, YOU CAN'T SAY THAT, JONAS! WAWA'S COUNTING ON US! OH?
[Honking]
Audrey says, OH...
Jonas says, I SHOULDA KNOWN THIS FLIGHT WOULDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I'M SORRY, AUDREY. I'M TURNING AROUND.
Jonas turns the Ultralight.
Audrey points and says, OH! NO! LOOK OVER THERE!
Jonas says, HMM?
The flock of geese flies in a V todays the sun.
[Both laughing]
Jonas says, HOLY FOUR-LEAF CLOVER!
[Laughter, Audrey whooping]
Jonas says, HMM?
The geese fly further away.
In a flashback, Jonas watches the other pilot pass him in the race.
The announcer says, AND UNFORTUNATELY, THE GAP IS DEFINITELY WIDENING BETWEEN JONAS THE WASP AND AUGUSTIN THE HORNET!
[Announcer laughing]
The flashback ends.
In the present, Jonas flies the Ultralight.
[Wawa honking]
Jonas says, HMM! HUH?
[Honking]
Jonas says, COME ON, JONAS, GET A GRIP! YOU CAN DO THIS!
Jonas flies closer to the migrating geese.
[Epic music plays, engine whirring]
Audrey shouts, LOOK, WAWA! THERE'S YOUR FAMILY!
Wawa joins the other Canadian geese.
[Honking]
Audrey says, SAFE MIGRATION TO THE SOUTH, WAWA!
Jonas says, COME BACK AND SEE US NEXT YEAR!
[Honking]
[Audrey sniffling]
Audrey says, OH!
[Honking, Jonas sniffling]
A feather falls from Wawa as he flies. It hits Jonas’s nose.
Jonas says, OH!
[Laughter]
Later, in the hangar, Jonas holds the feather in a small display case.
[Birds singing, upbeat music plays]
Audrey says, YOU FINALLY GOT YOUR LAST TROPHY.
Jonas says, HOLY ROMAINE LETTUCE! THANKS A LOT, KIDS. I OWE YOU A DEBT OF GRATITUDE. I NEVER THOUGHT THIS OLD BUCKET OF BOLTS WOULD FLY AGAIN.
Tommy says, OH, COME ON. DON'T SAY THAT, JONAS. YOU'VE GOT MANY GOOD YEARS OF FLYING AHEAD OF YOU.
Jonas says, UH... MM-HMM...
