Inside the greenhouse, Audrey, a young girl with red hair in a ponytail, stands on a tree branch. She wears a yellow jacket over an olive green shirt, black pants, and brown boots. Audrey whistles and startles butterflies. Standing on a rock nearby, Tommy watches Jack, a gorilla, land on the branch beside Audrey. Tommy wears a pale blue long-sleeve shirt and pale grey pants. His black curly hair is short.

[Whistling, birds chirping, exclamation, laughter]

[Upbeat music plays, animals hooting]

Audrey swings on a vine with a golden lion tamarin clinging to her head. Tommy rides on Jack’s back as Jack swings from a second vine.

A person sings, OH, CAN YOU HEAR THEM, ANIMALS ARE CALLING. THEY ARE IN DANGER.

Audrey stands as she slides down a rock past Karl and Pat. Karl, a slender young man with black hair and eyeglasses, watches Audrey slide past. Pat bottle-feeds a large grey kitten with black spots. Her black hair is pulled into a ponytail. Tommy rides Jack down the rock.

The singer sings, NATURE'S OUR PASSION, READY FOR ACTION.

Audrey and Jack, still carrying Tommy, run past Jonas, a man with curly red hair. He lifts a rake over his head and spins as they pass.

[Whooshing, upbeat music continues]

Text reads, “Directed by Alexandre Coste.”

Singers sing, TOGETHER.

Audrey pulls leaves to the side and reveals Tommy in a clearing with Jack, a giraffe, an elephant, and a gazelle.

The first singer sings, JOIN THE ADVENTURE.

Singers sing, THIS IS AUDREY'S SHELTER.

Title: Audrey’s Shelter.

Episode title: Blackout.

Text reads, “Story Edited by Thomas Personeni. Written by Louise Dubois. Storyboard by Edouard Charles.”

[Upbeat music plays, birds chirping, bicycle rattling]

At night, the tall iron gates in front of the Shelter are open. Lightning flashes in the sky above the greenhouse, and leaves blow in the wind.

[Thunder booming, wind whistling, rain pittering]

[Lights crackling, Tommy moaning]

In the Vivarium, Tommy stares up at flickering lights.

Tommy says, I THINK IT'S GETTING CLOSER!

Audrey says, STOP WORRYING, TOMMY. COME AND SEE THE BABY KOMODO DRAGONS!

Pat says, HMM?

[Zapping, rustling]

Pat plugs in a heat lamp in the Komodo dragon enclosure, and the hatchlings run to the light.

Audrey says, HUH?! IT'S FUNNY HOW THEY RUN STRAIGHT FOR THE LIGHT.

[Upbeat music plays]

Tommy says, THAT'S NO ORDINARY LIGHT. IT WORKS AS A HEAT LAMP. THEY LOVE THE HEAT BECAUSE THEY'RE FROM A TROPICAL CLIMATE.

Pat says, THAT'S EXACTLY RIGHT, TOMMY. WHEN THEY DON'T GET ENOUGH HEAT, THEY BECOME SLOW AND LIMP. WOULD YOU PASS ME A SCREWDRIVER, PLEASE?

Tommy looks at a folding toolbox with compartments full of screwdrivers and wrenches.

Tommy asks, UH, WHICH ONE? OH!

[clinking]

Audrey takes a screwdriver to Pat.

Pat says, THANKS, AUDREY.

Tommy says, HEY, I WAS GONNA DO IT!

[Audrey laughing, panel clattering]

Pat attaches a panel beneath an enclosure.

Audrey says, YOU WERE TOO SLOW.

Tommy says, I'M NOT THAT SLOW! AND I'M GONNA PROVE IT. THE FIRST ONE TO DO A LAP AROUND THE VIVARIUM WINS!

Audrey says, HMM!

[Panting, laughing, exclaiming, upbeat music plays]

Tommy runs around terrariums and tanks. Audrey climbs over them and waits with her arms crossed on the other side.

Tommy says, HMM?

[Audrey laughing]

Tommy says, HEY, YOU CHEATED! I WANT A REMATCH, AUDREY.

[Laughing, reptiles croaking]

Audrey says, IF YOU WANT.

Pat says, HANG ON. WE'RE GONNA SEE IF TOMMY'S PARENTS CAN COME GET HIM. YOU CAN'T RIDE YOUR BIKE IN THIS RAIN.

[Static]

The lights flicker.

Everyone says, HMM?

The lights turn off.

[Exclamations, tense music plays, thunder booming, weathervane squeaking]

Later, at the veterinary clinic, Hector looks through a window at the rain.

Speaking into a smartphone, Hector says, HMM. HMM. NOT A PROBLEM, NOAH. HE CAN STAY HERE TONIGHT.

Hector holds Onyx, who has a bandaged leg.

Audrey cheers, YAY! YOU CAN SLEEPOVER!

[Tommy laughing, rain pittering, thunder booming, zapping, whirring, footsteps tapping]

Lightning hits the top of the greenhouse, and electricity crackles down the sides. Inside, a generator sparks, and smoke appears. In the clinic, Onyx limps on a counter.

Speaking into the smartphone, Hector says, WE HAVEN'T HAD A STORM LIKE THIS SINCE 1998. AND IT HAD TO BE THE DAY I WAS DEALING WITH ONYX, THE BINTURONG.

[Thunder booming, lights crackling]

Audrey says, WE CAN TELL EACH OTHER SCARY STORIES! ARGH!

The lights flicker.

Everyone says, HMM?

[Onyx meowing]

The lights go out.

[Jonas chuckling]

In the greenhouse, Jonas sits in his office and picks up a submarine sandwich. The lights go out.

Jonas says, YES... WHAT THE...?

[Babou chittering, water slashing, chittering, scratching, fan motor stopping]

Babou pulls his head out of a fountain and looks confused. The lights go out in the Vivarium.

In the clinic, speaking into the smartphone, Hector says, NOAH? HELLO? HELLO? HMM...

[Thunder booming]

Lightning flashes.

Tommy asks, OH! WHAT'S HAPPENING?! WHO TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS?!

[Onyx yowling, Hector exclaiming]

Audrey says, I'LL TURN 'EM BACK ON!

Hector says, OH! AH! ONYX!

[Exclaiming, thumping, exciting music plays]

Audrey says, CAREFUL, DAD.

Everyone says, WHOA!

[Exclamations, groaning]

Pat says, OKAY, NOBODY MOVE!

[Audrey groaning, thumping]

Audrey stands with her head in an animal carrier.

Audrey says, OW. HMM?

[Popping, yowling]

Audrey pulls the carrier off her head. Hector stands with Onyx clinging to his head.

Hector says, AH, THAT'S ENOUGH! GET OFF OF MY HEAD!

Pat says, THE STORM MUST'VE CAUSED A BLACKOUT. NOBODY PANIC. I'M SURE JONAS IS BUSY RESTORING THE ELECTRICITY.

[Whooshing, dramatic music plays]

Jonas appears behind Pat.

Jonas shouts, THE BACKUP GENERATOR'S OUT!

Hector says, BUT I'M GONNA NEED LIGHT!

Audrey shouts, IT'S A DISASTER!

[Tommy screaming]

[Rustling, upbeat music plays]

Pat says, THAT'S ENOUGH! EVERYONE, CALM DOWN. JONAS, GO SEE IF YOU CAN GET THE POWER BACK ON. HECTOR, YOU CAN STILL TAKE CARE OF ONYX.

Hector says, NO! WHERE DID SHE GO?!

Pat says, I'M GOING TO CHECK ON ALL THE OTHER ANIMALS.

Audrey says, WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

[Audrey and Tommy giggling]

Pat says, YOU TWO ARE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THE REPTILES. WITHOUT ELECTRICITY, THE VIVARIUM WILL GET COLD QUICKLY.

Audrey says, I KNOW! WE CAN PUT THEM IN A WARM PLACE.

Tommy asks, OKAY, BUT WHERE?

Pat says, IN THE TRUCK.

[Rain pattering]

The children say, OH.

Pat says, IT STILL WORKS, AND YOU CAN PUT THE HEATING ON. BRING THE REPTILES TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE GREENHOUSE, PUT THEM IN THE TRUCK.

[Footsteps tapping, rain pittering]

Tommy says, SO... WHAT ARE WE GOING TO NEED? SOME ADHESIVE TAPE TO CLOSE UP THE BOXES, A BAG TO TRANSPORT THEM, FLASHLIGHTS SO WE CAN SEE WHERE WE'RE GOING. DID I FORGET ANYTHING? AUDREY? HMM? HMM!

[Upbeat music plays, puddles splashing]

Outside, Audrey runs to the greenhouse. She carries flat cardboard boxes over her head and runs into Jack’s back.

[Clattering, exclaiming, grumbling, Jack grunting]

Audrey says, OH, SORRY, JACK. I DIDN'T SEE YOU IN THE DARK.

[Jack vocalizing]

Jack signs to Audrey.

Audrey says, IS IT 'CAUSE OF THE LIGHTNING? ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE STORM?

[Jack vocalizing]

Audrey says, OH, DON'T WORRY. COME WITH ME TO THE VIVARIUM. THAT WAY, YOU WON'T BE ALL ALONE.

[Squeaking, laughing, upbeat music plays]

Audrey rides on Jack’s back as he runs.

Audrey says, WE CAN'T SEE A THING. CAN YOU SEE WHERE THE REPTILES ARE, JACK?

[Reptiles vocalizing]

Audrey says, HMM?

[Audrey whimpering]

Audrey moves forward in the darkness.

Audrey says, HMM?

[Rattling, screaming, thumping]

Audrey trips.

Audrey says, OH!

[Clicking]

Tommy appears in front of Audrey with a flashlight under his chin.

Tommy says, I BROUGHT THE FLASHLIGHTS.

[Dramatic music plays, Audrey screaming]

Audrey stands and trips.

Audrey shouts, OW!

[Reptiles croaking, chirping]

Audrey lies on her back with her foot in a bucket.

Tommy says, I THOUGHT MAYBE THEY'D BE... USEFUL?

Audrey says, THANKS, TOMMY!

[Whooshing]

Audrey grabs a flashlight and runs across the room. Tommy looks at the wet boxes.

Tommy says, HMM. HMM? AH! THIS'LL NEVER WORK NOW! IF YOU HADN'T TAKEN OFF LIKE THAT, WE COULD'VE PROTECTED THEM FROM THE RAIN!

Audrey says, IT'S NOT THAT BIG A DEAL. BESIDES, WE DON'T HAVE THE TIME.

[Croaking, rustling, exciting music plays]

Audrey picks up a snake and a lizard.

[Croaking, giggling]

Audrey says, AH, THERE YOU ARE. ALRIGHT! OPERATION REPTILE RELOCATION HAS BEGUN!

[Hissing, croaking, gentle music plays]

Tommy, Audrey, and Jack pack reptiles into soggy cardboard boxes.

Audrey says, THAT'S IT FOR THE FROGS. WE'RE ALL DONE!

Tommy says, YOU FORGOT THE KOMODO DRAGONS. SOMETIMES IT'S BETTER TO THINK THAN RACE.

Audrey says, GNA-GNA-GNA-GNA.

[Thunder booming, rain pittering, wind gusting, tree crashing, Jonas groaning, weathervane creaking, clicking]

Lightning hits a tree, and it falls on the road in front of the iron gates of the Shelter. Outside the greenhouse, Jonas uses a wrench and turns a screw.

Jonas says, ALRIGHT, ONE MORE TURN OF THE SCREW, SWEETHEART, AND WE'RE DONE!

[Engine puttering, squeaking]

Jonas says, NOW, SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT!

[Groaning, exclaiming, grunting]

Rain soaks Jonas as he pulls the cord on the generator.

[Screaming, splashing, thunder rumbling]

The cord snaps, and Jonas falls into a puddle.

Jonas says, WELL, I GUESS IT'LL TAKE LONGER THAN I THOUGHT.

In the Vivarium, Audrey says, YOU SEE? THAT WAS SUPER FAST.

[Reptiles screeching]

Tommy says, HMM? HMM.

[Creaking]

Tommy pulls a Komodo dragon hatchling out of Audrey’s ponytail.

Audrey says, HMM? ARGH! OW! HEY!

[Hissing, thumping, gentle music plays]

Tommy puts the Komodo dragon in the box, and Audrey covers it with a lid. She then picks the box up.

Audrey says, LET'S GO!

Tommy says, UH, BUT, UH, NOT LIKE THAT! UH, AUDREY, WAIT FOR ME! YOU SHOULD HOLD IT FROM THE BOTTOM.

[Audrey grumbling, footsteps tapping, rustling, bright music plays, waterfall splashing]

Audrey and Tommy carry the boxes out of the Vivarium.

Tommy says, WET CARDBOARD ISN'T THAT STRONG.

Audrey says, YEAH, YEAH.

Tommy says, IT COULD ALL FALL APART. WAIT, I'LL SHOW YOU.

Audrey says, STOP TELLING ME WHAT TO DO!

Audrey puts her box down on the ground.

Tommy says, I'M TELLING YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT DOING WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO!

Audrey says, YEAH, WELL, AT LEAST I'M EFFICIENT! YOU NEVER GET ANYTHING DONE!

[Jack vocalizing, rustling, hissing]

The Komodo dragons push the lid up off the box on the ground.

Audrey says, HOLD ON, JACK! I'M BUSY!

Tommy says, THAT'S NOT TRUE! IT'S JUST BECAUSE I THINK BEFORE I DO ANYTHING!

Audrey says, THIS IS URGENT, THOUGH! WHILE YOU'RE TALKING, THE DRAGONS' TEMPERATURE'S GOING DOWN! HUH?

[Gasping, exclaiming]

Jack lies on the ground in front of the box, with his hands in the air. One Komodo dragon hatchling stands on the edge of the box top.

Audrey says, THERE'S ONLY ONE LEFT! THE OTHERS ARE ALL GONE!

[Thunder rumbling]

Tommy says, BUT HOW'S THAT POSSIBLE?

[Ominous music plays, thunder booming]

Audrey points at Tommy.

Audrey says, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!

Tommy says, WHAT?! IT'S NOT MY FAULT! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO PUT THEIR BOXES ON THE GROUND!

Audrey says, IT DOESN'T MATTER! WE'RE WASTING TIME HERE!

[Both grumbling]

They glare at each other. Audrey takes out her walkie-talkie.

Audrey speaks into her walkie-talkie and says, DAD, THIS IS AUDREY! COME IN?

[Tommy grumbling, rain pittering against glass, soft music plays]

Tommy and Audrey scowl. In the clinic, Onyx lies on top of a cabinet.

Hector says, EASY NOW. EASY NOW, ONYX.

[Static crackling]

Hector holds a flashlight in his mouth and reaches for Onyx.

On the walkie-talkie, Audrey says, DAD, WE'VE GOT A PROBLEM!

[Screaming, crashing, exciting music plays]

Hector falls, and Onyx runs out of the room.

Hector says, OH! NO, WAIT! ONYX!

Hector chases Onyx.

On the walkie-talkie, Audrey says, WE LOST THE BABY KOMODO DRAGONS! DAD? DAD, CAN YOU HEAR ME?

In the greenhouse, Audrey says, WE'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS OURSELVES.

[Jack snorting]

Tommy says, OKAY. I'LL GO LOOK BESIDE THE FEEDERS AND YOU—

[Rustling]

Audrey gives Tommy all the boxes.

Audrey says, NO! SINCE YOU KNOW HOW TO CARRY BOXES, YOU TAKE THESE TO THE TRUCK!

Tommy says, HMM!

[Both grumbling]

They glare at each other.

Tommy says, OKAY, FINE.

Both say, HMM!

[Footsteps running, Jack vocalizing, clicking]

Tommy and Audrey run in opposite directions. In the jungle, Audrey shines her flashlight on Hops, the rock wallaby.

Audrey says, AH, HERE YOU ARE. OH. HMM. HMM? HMM? HUH?

[Sighing, chittering, footsteps running, upbeat music plays]

Audrey shines her flashlight beam on Yoko, the red panda.

Audrey says, AH!

[Chittering, croaking, squawking]

Audrey says, HMM? AH!

In the truck, Tommy opens a box and lets the Komodo dragon hatchling out.

Tommy says, OOH! DON'T WORRY, WE'LL FIND YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

[Crackling, rain pittering]

On the walkie-talkie, Tommy says, HI. THIS IS TOMMY. THE REPTILES ARE WARM. OVER.

[Static crackling]

Audrey says, THIS IS AUDREY. NO TRACE OF THE DRAGONS ANYWHERE HERE. OVER.

Tommy says, OH! WHAT?! OH, NO! HMM. HMM? OH?

[Hissing, light zapping]

Tommy looks at the hatchling on the heater in the truck and looks up at a flickering light.

Tommy says, OH!

[Laughing, footsteps splashing, rain pattering]

Tommy leaves the truck and runs to the greenhouse.

Tommy shouts, AUDREY!

[Leaves rustling, tense music plays]

In the greenhouse, Audrey drops from a tree and runs across a path.

Audrey says, HMM? HMM.

[Grunting]

Audrey says, WHERE DID THEY GO?! AH! AHA! THERE YOU ARE!

[Leaves rustling, croaking, Audrey softly crying, sad music plays]

Tal the turtle walks out from beneath a bush.

Audrey says, OH, OH... OH... I'M NEVER GONNA FIND THEM.

Tommy says, AUDREY!

[Popping, skidding]

Tal hides in his shell. Tommy slides to a stop behind Audrey.

Audrey says, HMM?

[Sniffing]

Audrey says, WHAT IS IT, TOMMY?

Tommy says, I FOUND A WAY TO CATCH THE BABY DRAGONS. BUT I NEED YOU! ACTUALLY, BOTH OF YOU!

[Leaves rustling, Jack vocalizing]

Audrey says, ALRIGHT! BUT WE NEED TO HURRY!

[Whooshing, clattering, Tommy giggling, vine creaking, upbeat music plays]

They collect a large light, rope, batteries, and tape. Audrey climbs a tree and jumps onto a rope bridge. She drops her rope down to Tommy, and he ties the light to it.

Audrey says, I DON'T GET IT. KOMODO DRAGONS AREN'T ATTRACTED TO THE LIGHT.

[Thunder booming, clinking]

Tommy says, THAT'S TRUE, BUT THEY ARE ATTRACTED TO THE HEAT. IT'S A HEAT LAMP FOR THE HOUSE, LIKE THE ONE IN THEIR TERRARIUM.

Audrey says, OH! NOT BAD. LET'S GO!

[Rope creaking, chuckling, animals calling, upbeat music plays, fluttering]

Later, butterflies gather around the heat lamp.

Audrey says, IT'S NOT WORKING.

Tommy says, SHHH! LOOK.

[Rustling]

A Komodo dragon hatchling crawls out of a bush.

Audrey says, HMM? HMM. OOH! RIGHT THERE. GOOD WORK, TOMMY!

[Hissing, footsteps thumping, flapping wings]

Tommy picks up the Komodo dragon hatchling. Butterflies fly past him, away from the lamp.

Tommy says, HMM. AUDREY. LOOK!

A second hatch curls around the heat lamp.

Audrey says, OH? OH, YEAH!

[Vine creaking, grunting]

Audrey swings to the rope bridge and takes the hatchling off the heat lamp.

Audrey says, COME HERE, YOU.

[Giggling, thumping]

Audrey drops to the ground beside Tommy.

Tommy says, WELL DONE. WE'RE JUST MISSING ONE.

[Chuckling, Jack grunting]

Tommy says, LOOK! I GET THE FEELING JACK'S ALREADY CAUGHT THE LAST ONE!

[Jack vocalizing, gentle music plays]

Jack lies on his back and pets a Komodo dragon hatchling, sleeping on his chest. They let the other two go, and they curl up on his chest. Tommy and Audrey lean against Jack.

Tommy and Audrey say, AW...

[Gentle music plays]

Audrey says, UH, YOU KNOW ABOUT BEFORE—

Tommy says, DON'T WORRY. IT'S ALREADY FORGOTTEN. IT'S SO MUCH BETTER WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER.

Audrey says, YES! I WOULD'VE NEVER THOUGHT OF LURING THEM IN LIKE THAT.

Tommy says, AND I COULD'VE CAUGHT THEM WITHOUT YOU.

[Rustling]

Tommy and Audrey hug.

Both say, MM...

[Chuckling, birds squawking]

[Dripping, crow cawing]

In the morning, water drips off plants. Hector walks to the back of the truck.

Hector says, HMM?

[Door banging, snoring, sighing, upbeat music plays]

Inside the truck, Audrey and Tommy sleep, leaning against Jack.

Hector says, AW. HMM.

[Door gently banging]

Hector closes the truck door.

[Zapping, exclamations, snoring, water splashing, Babou shouting]

In the clinic, the lights turn on. In the greenhouse water fountain, Babou sleeps. The water starts and falls on him.

Hector says, AH!

[Engine humming, banging]

Beside the greenhouse, Jonas pats the generator.

Jonas says, AH, YOU SEE THAT? A LITTLE PERSEVERANCE, YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING.

[Poofing, coughing]

Soot sprays on Jonas.

Jonas says, HMM.

[Upbeat music plays]
