Transcript: Water Conservation
Two brains move over a line maze. Two chomping halves of an animated pink brain join together. Text on banners over the brain reads, “Hungry Brain!”
[Upbeat music plays]
A voice says, HUNGRY BRAIN!
Animated people carry laundry to a washing machine, hold a hose and get out of a swimming pool.
The voice narrates, IN THE WEST,
BILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WATER
ARE WASTED EACH DAY, WHILE
ONE SIXTH OF THE WORLD
HASN'T ENOUGH.
[Splash]
The narrator asks, THINK THAT'S BAD?
HOLD MY DRINK.
HERE'S THE TOP ON
WATER CONSERVATION.
Text reads, “Top” “Water Conservation.”
A blue number five appears beside a yellow and green number sign.
[Ding]
The narrator NUMBER FIVE, TAKE
A SHOWER INSTEAD OF A BATH.
ENJOYING YOUR BATH?
WELL, LET THIS WASH OVER YOU.
SIXTY-FIVE PERCENT OF THE
WATER USED BY FAMILIES OR
HOUSEHOLDS IS IN THE BATHROOM.
[Toilet flushes]
Text beside an animated clock reads, “Five min.”
[Ticking]
The narrator says, WASH YOUR
HANDS OF WASTEFUL WATER
CONSUMPTION BY SWITCHING
TO A FIVE MINUTE SHOWER.
BY USING THE LOW FLOW SETTING
ON YOUR SHOWER HEAD, YOU'LL
SAVE MILLIONS OF THESE
LITTLE GUYS.
[Water sprays]
A face on an animated blue drop of water looks sad.
The narrator says, AWW!
SOME SHOWER HEADS EVEN
HAVE A CUT-OFF VALVE
THAT STOPS THE SPRINKLE
BEFORE YOU WRINKLE.
[Water sprays, dismayed cry]
A blue number four appears beside a yellow and green number sign.
[Ding, ding]
Text reads, “Consume less thanks to a stone.”
The narrator says, NUMBER FOUR,
CONSUME LESS THANKS TO A STONE.
An animated stone with drops into a clear bowl of water.
The narrator says, THIS ROCKS!
POP A STONE IN THE TOILET
CISTERN, AND THE VOLUME OF
WATER NEEDED TO FILL IT
WILL BE REDUCED BY THE
AMOUNT EQUAL TO THE VOLUME
OF THE STONE.
[Popping]
The narrator says, YOU'LL SAVE
MUCHO LITROS OF WATER EVERY
DAY. STONE-COLD GENIUS!
WANNA FLUSH OUT AN EVEN
GREENER LIFESTYLE?
[Toilet flushes]
The narrator says, STAY MELLOW
WHEN IT COMES TO THE YELLOW,
BUT GO TO TOWN WHEN YOU SEE
THE BRAIN.
THAT JOKE SANK LIKE A STONE.
[Popping]
A blue number three appears beside a yellow and green number sign.
[Dinging]
Text reads, “Reusing Rainwater.”
An animated blue cloud drops rain into a bucket.
[Rain falls]
The narrator says, NUMBER THREE,
REUSING RAINWATER. YOU'LL BE ON
CLOUD NINE WHEN YOU REALIZE
THAT COLLECTING RAINWATER
OUTDOORS CAN BE USED TO WATER
YOUR INDOOR PLANTS.
IT MEASURES UP!
[Water burbles]
The narrator asks, WHY WASTE
LITRES AND LITRES OF TAP WATER
WHEN RAINWATER IS FREE?
RAINWATER IS OKAY FOR PLANTS
TO DRINK, BUT YOU MIGHT WANNA
TAKE A RAIN CHEQUE ON DRINKING
IT YOURSELF.
[Cheering, rain falls]
A blue number two appears beside a yellow and green number sign.
[Dinging]
Text reads, “Brush your teeth ecologically.”
The narrator says, NUMBER TWO,
BRUSH YOUR TEETH ECOLOGICALLY.
THIS TIP WILL GET YOUR JUICES
FLOWING. BY TURNING OFF THE
TAP WHILE YOU BRUSH YOUR
TEETH, YOU'LL SAVE ON AVERAGE
TWELVE LITRES OF WATER
PER MINUTE.
[Brushing, water flows]
Text reads, “Twelve L”
[Dinging]
Text beside a clock reads, “Two min.”
[Ticking]
The narrator says, SO, IF YOU BRUSH
YOUR TEETH FOR TWO MINUTES
TWICE A DAY, YOU'LL SAVE
FORTY-EIGHT LITRES PER DAY.
Text reads, “Forty-eight L”
[Dinging]
The narrator says, THAT'S
SEVENTEEN THOUSAND, FIVE
HUNDRED AND TWENTY LITRES
PER YEAR.
Voices exclaim, WOW!
A blue number one appears beside a yellow and green number sign.
[Dinging]
The narrator says, NUMBER ONE,
CUT DOWN ON WASHING CLOTHES.
LAUNDRY DAY.
[Cheer]
The narrator says, JEEZ, YOU ONLY
WORE THOSE ONCE, PAL!
THE BEST WAY TO SAVE WATER?
STOP WASHING YOUR CLOTHES
SO MUCH.
[Washing machine hums, cheer]
The narrator says, COME ON,
EVERYBODY, LET'S CUT BACK
ON OUR WATER CONSUMPTION.
IF THESE GUYS CAN REDUCE
THEIR WATER USE, SO CAN YOU
AND YOUR FAMILY.
[Dinging]
The narrator says, "WATER"
YOU WAITING FOR!
TIME TO PUT WATER
CONSUMPTION ON ICE.
