IS THE GREY CROWNED CRANE,
WHICH IS ONE OF THE MOST
MAJESTIC BIRDS IN AFRICA.
CAN YOU TELL?

In his bedroom, Dante dribbles a small basketball. He dunks the ball in a small basketball net.

[Energetic music plays, rattle]

Dante says, WELCOME TO MY ROOM.

I LIKE ALL SPORTS AND I COLLECT
A LOT OF STUFF. THAT'S WHY
I WANT TO START MY OWN BUSINESS.

[Drumming, singing]

Dante narrates, IT’S PART OF THE
PERCUSSION FAMILY, AND IT HAS
VARIOUS NAMES, DEPENDING ON
THE SIZE AND SHAPE IS ALSO
KNOWN AS A MEMBRANOPHONE.

TRADITIONALLY, THIS DRUM HAS
A HEAD MADE OF REPTILE SKIN
ATTACHED TO A LARGE WOODEN BODY.

IT PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE
IN A TRADITIONAL CEREMONY,
AND THE ONE RULE FOR MUSICIANS
IS THEY MUST USE THEIR BARE HANDS
TO PLAY RATHER THAN BEATERS OR STICKS.

The animated sun moves its hands up and down.

[Slide whistle]

Later, Dante’s mother helps him put a kanzu over his clothes.

[Upbeat music plays]

AND FOR THE FIRST TIME SHE COULD
TEACH ME A UGANDAN DANCE.

FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS:
BUTTER, BAKING SODA, SALT,
SUGAR, FLOUR AND WATER.

Dante narrates, FIRST, YOU PUT
THE INGREDIENTS IN A BOWL.

THEN WE MIX THE DRY INGREDIENTS
AND IT HAS TO BE A SPHERE.

NOW WE ROLL THE DOUGH
INTO A FLAT SURFACE.

NOW WE PUT THE DOUGH
ON THE PAN.

[Sizzling, slide whistle]

Dante narrates, WE WAIT UNTIL IT'S
NICE AND BROWN ON EACH SIDE.

WHEN IT IS DONE, IT IS
A DELICIOUS BUT SUBTLE FLAVOR.

THAT IS WHY IT CAN BE EASILY
PAIRED WITH ALMOST ANY DISH
SWEET OR SAVORY, MAKING IT
AN EXTREMELY GREAT SIDE DISH.

Dante and his mother eat their chapati.

Dante’s mother says, MMMM.
SO GOOD.

Dante says, GOOD.

[Background chatter, shouting, sneakers squeak, upbeat music plays]

Dante throws a football and Brayden catches it.

Dante narrates, WHAT'S TOUCH FOOTBALL?

WELL, IT'S A VARIANT OF AMERICAN
FOOTBALL WHERE INSTEAD OF TACKLING
PLAYERS TO THE GROUND,
THE DEFENSIVE TEAM MUST TAKE THE
OPPOSING TEAM TO END THE GAME.

I STARTED YEARS AGO AND I'VE BEEN
HOOKED EVER SINCE. IT MAKES ME FEEL
GOOD AND CONFIDENT.

The animated sun dances.

[Buzzer, slide whistle]

An animated blue present box wiggles. The present opens and the animated sun rises and blows into a party horn. Yellow text reads, “Sunny’s Surprise!”

AND SOMEBODY ELSE WANTS TO
CONGRATULATE YOU. PRESS PLAY.
