Maksim says, SPAGHETTI CARBONARA!

Pradnesh says, FOR TODAY'S RECIPE,
YOU'LL NEED...
Maksim says, 200 GRAMS OR SEVEN OUNCES
OF UNCOOKED SPAGHETTI...
Pradnesh says, TWO EGGS...
Maksim says, HALF A CUP OR 125 ML
OF FRESHLY GRATED PARMESAN...
Pradnesh says, FOUR SLICES OR PRE-COOKED
BACON...
Maksim says, AND TWO CLOVES OF GARLIC!
Pradnesh says, AND WE ARE READY FOR THE
FIVE INGREDIENT CHALLENGE!
He stands beside Maksim in the Five Ingredients kitchen with their supplies and ingredients on the counter in front of them.
Pradnesh says, LET'S START BY PUTTING THIS
WATER-FILLED POT
INTO A BOIL TO COOK THE PASTA.
He puts a pot of water on an induction cooktop and sets the temperature.
[Cooktop beeping]
He says, WE'LL GET BACK TO THIS LATER.
Maksim says, LET'S COOK THE BACON
IN THE MICROWAVE!
Text reads, 4 Slices.
Pradnesh says, WE NEED A PLATE THAT CAN GO
IN THE MICROWAVE,
AND A PAPER TOWEL.
He lays four slices of bacon on a plate. He puts a piece of paper towel over the bacon and puts the plate in the microwave.
Pradnesh says, LET'S COOK IT FOR 15 SECONDS.
Text reads, 15 seconds. Pradnesh sets the time on the microwave.
[Microwave beeping]
Text reads, Ready!
Maksim says, TAKE THE BACON OUT
AND CUT IT WITH CLEAN SCISSORS
INTO SMALL PIECES.
He cuts the slices of bacon into pieces with a pair of scissors. He then removes the lid off the pot of boiling water.
Pradnesh says, NOW THAT OUR WATER-FILLED POT
IS BOILING,
WE'LL ADD THE PASTA AND LET IT
COOK FOR TEN MINUTES,
OR UNTIL IT'S TENDER.
He puts spaghetti in the pot. Text reads, 200 grams [7 ounces]. Pradnesh sets a timer. Text reads,10 minutes.
Maksim says, IN A BOWL, LET'S WHISK
ALL TOGETHER
THE EGGS AND THE PARMESAN.
He mixes eggs and parmesan together in a glass bowl. Text reads, 2 eggs, ½ cup [125 milliliters].
Pradnesh says, THIS IS GONNA BE SO CREAMY.
Maksim says, YEAH.
He finishes mixing the eggs and parmesan.
He says, HIGH-FIVE!
He high-fives Pradnesh.
Pradnesh says, NOW, I'LL CRUSH THE GARLIC
WITH A GARLIC PRESS,
AND PUT IT ASIDE.
He crushes garlic into a small glass bowl with a garlic press. Text reads, 2 cloves. Pradnesh scrapes excess garlic off the garlic press with a knife.
[Beeping]
Pradnesh and Maksim say, READY!
Maksim says, LET'S PUT HALF A CUP
OF COOKING WATER,
AND LEAVE IT ASIDE,
AND DRAIN THE REST.
He carefully scoops water from the pot and places it on the counter.
Pradnesh says, OVEN MITTS!
Oven mitts appear on his hands. He strains the pasta with a strainer in the sink. He brings the pasta filled strainer to the counter on a plate.
Maksim says, IN THE SAME POT, HEAT OLIVE
OIL OVER MEDIUM HEAT.
Pradnesh drizzles olive oil over the empty pasta pot.
He says, AND COOK THE GARLIC FOR ABOUT
A MINUTE.
Text reads, 1 minute. Pradnesh scrapes the crushed garlic into the pot. Maksim mixes it with the oil.
He says, THEN, REDUCE THE HEAT
TO LOW...
He lowers the temperature on the cooktop.
[Cooktop beeping]
Maksim says, AND STIR IN THE PASTA,
THE EGG MIXTURE AND THE BACON.
He and Pradnesh add the ingredients to the pot. Maksim mixes them together.
Pradnesh says, ADD THE COOKING WATER
ONE TABLESPOON AT A TIME
UNTIL YOU GET A NICE
AND CREAMY TEXTURE.
Maksim mixes the ingredients together as Pradnesh adds some of the cooking water.
Maksim says, TURN OFF THE HEAT
AND LET'S SERVE IT.
He turns the cooktop off and passes Pradnesh a bowl.
Pradnesh says, THANK YOU.
He puts some of the Spaghetti Carbonaro in his bowl. He and Maksim try the food.
Pradnesh says, THIS IS THE BEST PASTA EVER!
Maksim says, SI, BONISSIMO!
Pradnesh says, AND THAT WAS TODAY'S
YUMMY RECIPE.
WHAT A CHALLENGE!
He smiles. Maksim eats more pasta.
