The narrator says, WHO IS PROUD OF HIS VIBRANT HERITAGE AND WHO WANTS TO MAKE HIS MARK.

In a martial arts studio, Liam hits his opponent. They hit their gloves together and walk off a mat. On a bench in front of shelves of shoes, the curly-haired woman gives Liam a tablet.

[Smacking, upbeat music continues]

The narrator says, WAIT TILL YOU SEE WHO HAS A MESSAGE FOR HIM. LOOKS LIKE WE'RE READY. ARE YOU? LET'S GO.

In the martial arts studio, Liam knees a practice pad. In the arena, he skates on the ice.

[Boinging, chiming, whooshing, dinging]

Liam says, LOOK, I FOUND WOODBRIDGE, THAT'S WHERE I LIVE. DOWN HERE IS JAMAICA. AND CLOSE TO THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. AND ALL THE WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD, WE HAVE CHINA.

Jamaica’s coat of arms appears beside Liam. In it, two people stand beside a white shield with a red cross. Five pineapples appear on the cross. One of the people holds a spear and the other has a basket of fruit.

Liam says, THIS IS JAMAICA'S COAT OF ARMS. ON THE BOTTOM IT HAS JAMAICA'S MOTTO “OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE.” THIS REFERS TO THE COUNTRY'S MULTIRACIAL POPULATION.

The Jamaican and Chinese flags flutter. Video footage of Jamaica shows sandy beaches and houses along the shoreline.

Liam says, THE CHINESE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN A PART OF JAMAICA FOR MANY GENERATIONS. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY SAW A BETTER LIFE THROUGH HARD MANUAL WORK.

In animation, the flag of Trinidad waves. It is a red flag with a black diagonal line sloping from left to right and a white line on each side of the black line.

The Jamaican flag flutters. It features a yellow ‘X,’ dividing it into four triangles. The top and bottom triangles are green, and the two side triangles are black.

[Upbeat music continues, popping]

[Birds calling, waves crashing, Liam sighing, chiming]

In Liam’s room, hockey jerseys and ball caps hang on the walls and a closet door. Metals hang on a display beside his bedroom door, and golden trophies line a shelf.

[Doorbell ringing]

Liam’s mom says, I'LL GET IT.

Liam narrates, THIS IS CRAIG WONG. HE IS A CHINESE JAMAICAN HERITAGE, JUST LIKE ME. AND HE'S THE OWNER OF PATOIS. THAT WAS THE NAME OF THIS RESTAURANT. AND THERE'S ALSO A TYPE OF LANGUAGE OR CREOLE DIALECT OFTEN SPOKEN IN JAMAICA.

In the kitchen, Liam’s mom puts a plastic bag on the island.

Liam says, OH, LOOK. IT'S HERE. I'M SO HUNGRY. THIS IS TRINI MAC PIE, AND THIS IS CHICKEN CHOWMEIN.

A plate has a wedge of Trini mac pie and a serving of chicken chow mein. A clock counts down from an hour as Liam eats his food.

A map of Toronto shows the location of Reggae Lane. On the map, animated people pop up around the Reggae Lane sign.

[Chiming, popping]

Liam says, AND HERE WE ARE ON REGGAE LANE, WHICH FEATURES A MURAL HONORING LEGENDARY MUSICIANS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD'S MUSIC SCENE. IT'S A COOL COMMUNITY THAT HOLDS A LOT OF TORONTO'S JAMAICAN HISTORY. ALSO, THERE'S NEAT PEOPLE, STORIES OF ACTIVISM AND BUSINESSES.

Aerial footage shows houses and businesses by Eglinton West. In the distance, the C.N. Tower rises above the skyscrapers.

In the arena, Liam skates with the puck.

[Slide whistle, stick hitting ice, skates scraping, energetic music plays]

Liam says, WHEN I GROW UP, I WANT TO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE. I CURRENTLY PLAY FOR THE TORONTO MARLBOROS HOCKEY ORGANIZATION. I LOVE SKATING ON THE RINK BECAUSE IT'S LIKE SKATING IN A GIANT FREEZER. I LOVE THE COLD.

Liam shoots the puck into an empty net.

Liam cheers, YEAH.

A teammate passes the puck to Liam, who shoots it into the empty net. An animated crowd waves glow sticks.

[Cheering, horn blaring]

Liam says, YOU CAN CATCH ME ON THE ICE FOUR TIMES A WEEK FOR PRACTICES AND GAMES.

Liam does a faceoff with a teammate.

[Sticks tapping, hitting ice]

Liam says, I'VE TRAVELED ACROSS CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES FOR TOURNAMENTS. COOL, RIGHT? ONE DAY I'LL PLAY IN THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE AT THE PROS. HOCKEY S DONE NOW, TIME FOR MUAY THAI PRACTICE.

Liam leaves the ice.

[Chiming]

In the martial arts studio, Liam hits a punching bag. He practices his kicks on practice pads.

Liam’s opponent holds his boxing gloves in front of his face, and Liam punches them. They end their fight and tap their gloves.

[Thumping]

Liam’s opponent says, GOOD JOB.

Liam says, NAILED IT.

Sunny appears and gives a thumbs-up.

[Slide whistle]

An animated blue present box wiggles. The present opens, and Sunny rises and blows into a party horn. Yellow text reads, “Sunny’s Surprise!”

[Upbeat music plays, party horn toots]

On the bench, Liam sits beside his mom.

Liam’s mom says, LIAM, DADDY AND I ARE VERY PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO SCHOOL AND YOUR ATHLETICS. SOMEONE ELSE WANTS TO CONGRATULATE YOU. PRESS PLAY AND YOU CAN SEE IT.

Liam’s mom gives him a tablet.

A photograph shows Anthony, as a child, posing on the ice.

Anthony says, AND I ENJOY, YOU KNOW, PLAYING HOCKEY STILL TO THIS DAY. I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU THAT, YOU KNOW, IT'S POSSIBLE FOR YOU AS WELL. PUT YOUR HEART AND YOUR MIND AND, YOU KNOW, EVERYTHING INTO IT. AND I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK AND, JUST NICE TO MEET YOU.

The video message ends.

Liam says, THAT VIDEO WAS SO INSPIRING.

Liam’s mom nods.
