NOW, OUR FEATURED STORY UP NEXT
IS ABOUT A NEW GORILLA!
AND SHE IS IN TOWN
AND SHE IS BEAUTIFUL,
SO LET'S TAKE A LOOK.
He turns to watch a clip that plays behind him on an animated window.
Ali stands in a zoo. She is in her mid-thirties, with brown hair tied-up. She wears a dark green polo-shirt.
Ali says HI THERE, MY NAME IS ALI
AND I'M ONE OF THE
KEEPERS HERE AT
THE TORONTO ZOO.
ON JUNE 7TH, WE WELCOMED
A NEW BABY GORILLA.
HER NAME IS CHARLIE, AND SHE WAS
BORN TO NGOZI AND CHARLES,
AND SHE WAS LESS THAN 5 POUNDS
WHEN SHE WAS BORN.
The baby gorilla rests on its mummy's belly lying on the ground.
She continues SHE IS THE
THIRD BABY OF NGOZI,
SHE HAS AN OLDER BROTHER
NAMED NASSIR,
WHO WILL BE 9 IN SEPTEMBER.
AND SHE HAS AN
OLDER SISTER NAMED NNEKA,
WHO IS FOUR AND A HALF.
CHARLIE IS A
NEWBORN BABY GORILLA,
SO SHE'S VERY SIMILAR
TO A NEWBORN BABY HUMAN.
SHE'S VERY SMALL,
SHE'S STILL ON HER MOM'S BELLY.
HER MOM WILL CARRY HER AROUND
FOR STILL MANY MONTHS TO COME.
SHE'S NOT ABLE TO WALK AROUND
YET, SHE'S NOT STRONG ENOUGH.
AND FOR HER MEALS, SHE'S STILL
EATING BREAST MILK.
The clip shows the baby gorilla sleeping and its parents.
She continues AND WE'RE VERY EXCITED
ABOUT THIS NEW EDITION
TO OUR GORILLA TROOP.
HOPEFULLY YOU'LL BE ABLE TO COME
DOWN TO THE TORONTO ZOO
AND TO THE AFRICA RAIN
FOREST PAVILION
AND VISIT OUR TROOP OF
GORILLAS, AND MEET CHARLIE
AND THE REST OF HER FAMILY
HERE AT THE ZOO.
The clip ends.
Back at the studio, Daniel says AWH, CHARLIE IS SO CUTE!
