[Magical music plays]

In an animation, the sun shines brightly over a field of dandelions. A guinea pig with long brown fur frolics through the grass. In live action, the guinea pig rests in their hutch, a large wooden cage on posts in the Sawdust family’s backyard. Mister and Missus Sawdust stand by a gate in the fence and Karen, a girl with her long brown hair in braided pigtails, runs up to the guinea pig’s hutch with a kite.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

[Cheerful music plays]

The guinea pig sings, I'M A GUINEA PIG SENSATION, WITH A GREAT IMAGINATION. I'M OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

Facing Olga’s hutch, Noel, a black cat, lies on the grass with Graham, a tortoise, and Fangio, a hedgehog. Mrs. Sawdust trims a bush. Mr. Sawdust builds a pen. Karen skips across the yard. Olga scratches her ear. Noel swats at Olga from the roof of her hutch.

At the backdoor of the Sawdust’s house, Karen says, BREAKFAST, OLGA!

Olga sings, MY HEAD IS FULL OF STORIES, OF DERRING-DO AND GLORIES, SO GATHER 'ROUND, AND LISTEN TO ME!

In animations, Olga faces a fire-breathing dragon, stands on a podium with first-place medals and looks up at a princess locked in a castle.

A crowd cheers, HOORAY!

In live-action, Graham says, AMAZING.

Noel says, RIDICULOUS!

Fangio says, INTERESTING!

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

On a bench, Karen and Mister and Missus Sawdust pet Olga. At a competition, a person awards Karen and Olga a rosette. In the backyard, Karen puts a carrot in Olga’s food bowl.

Olga sings, OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Title: Olga da Polga. Based on the books by Michael Bond.

[Gentle music plays]

Light wind blows flowers in the Sawdust’s backyard. The episode title reads, “The Naming of Olga da Polga.”

[Birds squeaking]

Beside Olga’s hutch, Karen sits with Olga in her lap on a folded blanket. Karen wears her long brown hair in braided pigtails and purple overalls over a pink long-sleeved shirt with orange polka dots.

Olga narrates, LOVE MY NAME. OLGA DA POLGA HAS A CERTAIN RING ABOUT IT, AN AIR OF ROMANCE.

Olga nibbles on blades of grass. Karen pets her silky fur.

Karen asks, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT, OLGA?

Olga narrates, BUT, IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR KAREN, I MIGHT HAVE BEEN CALLED SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY.

[Munching]

Across from Olga, Noel rolls around with purple yarn in the grass.

Olga narrates, IT ALL BEGAN WHERE I USED TO LIVE.

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

In a live-action flashback, a sign with a painting of a rabbit reads, “The Valley Little Whiskers Animal Home.”

[Sheep bleating]

Olga narrates over the flashback, A PLACE CALLED THE LITTLE WHISKERS ANIMAL HOME.

In a large cage, Olga lies among vegetables. A black, white and brown guinea pig munches on hay. A brown guinea pig nibbles on a piece of lettuce.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

A guinea pig lies inside a tiny cushioned house. Another guinea pig stands in a wooden house.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

An employee of the animal home holds a pet cage bottle of water and a handful of leafy greens. The employee has short dark hair and glasses and wears a grey baseball hat and a black vest over a light grey T-shirt.

Olga narrates, A PLACE WHERE, BY DAY, I WOULD SHARE MY DREAMS.

Olga lies on a pile of grass in her shared cage.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

The employee drops the leafy greens in one of the cages.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

In her cage, Olga says, I'M A GUINEA PIG WHO IS GOING PLACES. AS SOON AS I GET MY CHANCE, I'LL BE AWAY...

[Guinea pig squeaking]

Olga says, …TO A CASTLE TO LIVE LIKE A PRINCESS.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

One of the guinea pigs says, HUH?

Another one says, OOH.

Olga says, JUST YOU WAIT!

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

At night, clouds pass over the full moon. Inside, the guinea pigs sleep.

[Soft snoring]

Olga quietly narrates, AND BY NIGHT...

She climbs out of her cushioned house.

A guinea pig with a white nose says, SHUSH!

Olga narrates, ...I WOULD LOOK AT MY REFLECTION IN THE WATER BOWL, CHECKING I LOOKED MY BEST, IN CASE ANY LIKELY LOOKING SAWDUST PEOPLE CAME ALONG.

Olga looks at her reflection in a water bowl.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

A guinea pig says, SSH! GO TO SLEEP!

Another says, SHUSH.

[Guinea pigs squeaking]

A guinea pig says, BE QUIET.

Another says, BE QUIET!

A third says, GO TO SLEEP!

Olga grumbled, HMPH!

She climbs back into her hay-filled house.

[Gentle music plays]

On a new day, sheep graze in a field.

[Bleating]

The sun shines over the animal home. Inside, Olga scratches her nose.

Olga narrates, AND THEN, ONE DAY, IT HAPPENED, JUST LIKE THAT.

A guinea pig with dark brown fur nibbles on a leafy green. The black, white and brown guinea pig scratches its ear. Olga climbs up a bar of her cage.

[Olga squeaking]

At another cage, Karen looks at the other guinea pigs. Beside her, Karen’s dad, Mr. Sawdust, leans forward toward the cages. Mr. Sawdust has short, dark grey hair and a thick grey beard. He wears a red plaid, button-down shirt over a blue T-shirt. The employee stands nearby. Karen turns toward Olga.

[Karen softly gasping]

Olga climbs off the bars of her cage.

Karen says, THAT'S THE ONE, THE ONE WITH THE CHEEKY LOOK AND OATS STICKING TO HER WHISKERS!

Olga narrates, AND BEFORE I KNEW IT,I WAS BEING WHISKED OUT OF MY BED, STRAIGHT AFTER A LARGE BREAKFAST, TOO.

The employee lifts Olga off of a pile of hay.

[Olga squeaking]

The employee says, OH!

[Employee chuckling]

The employee says, SHE IS A LIVELY ONE. NEVER KEEPS QUIET.

[Olga squeaking loudly]

The employee says, HOLD HER LIKE THIS.

He carefully passes Olga to Karen.

[Olga squeaking]

Mr. Sawdust asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Karen says, I THINK... SHE'S PERFECT.

Mr. Sawdust glances at the employee.

Karen says, YOU ARE COMING HOME WITH ME!

Olga narrates, I GOT MY VERY OWN SAWDUST PERSON.

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

Outside, light wind blows the leaves on a tall tree.

[Birds chirping]

In the Sawdust’s backyard, Fangio weaves between potted plants.

[Fangio singing]

In the driveway, Karen carries Olga to the backyard in a pet carrier. Mrs. Sawdust opens the gate to the yard. Mrs. Sawdust has long, light brown hair and wears a green long-sleeved shirt.

[Gate lock clicking]

Karen says, THANKS, MUM AND DAD!

Mrs. Sawdust says, AWW!

She peeks inside the pet carrier.

Mrs. Sawdust says, WELL, YOU'LL HAVE TO LOOK AFTER HER. NO EXCUSES!

She closes the gate behind Mr. Sawdust.

[Lock clicking]

Karen carefully places the pet carrier on a stool beside Olga’s hutch.

[Olga squeaking]

Karen says, I HOPE SHE LIKES HER NEW HOME.

Mr. Sawdust says, OH, I HOPE SO, TOO. I BEEN SO PROUD OF IT. IT TOOK ME AGES TO BUILD. IT'S WATERPROOFED AND EVERYTHING.

Olga narrates, WATERPROOFED? I COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE IT!

Mrs. Sawdust opens the hutch. Mr. Sawdust opens the pet carrier inside of the hutch.

Karen says, WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga climbs off a blanket in the pet carrier onto the hay in the hutch.

Olga narrates, IF MY NEW HOME WASN'T EXACTLY A PALACE, IT WAS VERY NICE - LARGE AND AIRY, WITH A LOVELY VIEW!

Olga explores the hutch. She walks from one end to the other and into the bedroom. Olga leaves the room and looks out a window at colourful potted flowers against the back fence.

[Ringing]

Karen says, THAT'LL BE MADDIE!

She runs across the yard.

Olga narrates, AND A LOT OF PEOPLE COMING TO TEND TO MY EVERY NEED!

She rests in a bed of hay.

Olga narrates, LIKE KAREN'S FRIEND MADDIE.

Maddie, a girl with shoulder-length brown hair, wears a yellow long-sleeved shirt. She crouches beside Olga’s hutch with Karen holding a handful of leafy greens. Olga nibbles on blades of grass in her food bowl.

Maddie says, OH, SHE LOOKS SO CUTE. LOOK AT HER LITTLE WHISKERS.

She lays the leafy green down in front of Olga’s food bowl.

Maddie says, THERE YOU GO.

Olga narrates, ...AND MR. SAWDUST.

Mr. Sawdust opens the other end of Olga’s hutch.

He says, A BIT MORE HAY TO MAKE YOU REALLY COMFORTABLE.

He adds more hay to the hutch. Olga leaps over her food bowl.

[Olga squeaking]

[Gentle music plays]

The wind gently blows squares of colourful fabric hanging against the back fence and the trees behind it.

[Leaves rustling]

Karen carries the stool over to Olga’s hutch.

Olga narrates, YES, THE SUN WAS SHINING, THE BIRDS WERE TWEETING...

[Birds tweeting]

Karen opens the hutch. Inside the hutch, Olga nibbles on grass in her food bowl.

Olga narrates, AND I HAD KAREN.

Karen puts a small carrot in Olga’s bowl.

Olga narrates, ALL IN ALL, IT WAS A VERY PLEASANT PLACE TO BE.

Karen smiles at Olga.

Karen says, WE HAVE TO GIVE YOU A NAME AND IT HAS TO BE RIGHT BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO PUT IT ON YOUR HUTCH.

Olga narrates, I WAS SO BUSY NIBBLING ON MY CARROT, I WAS HALF-LISTENING, HALF IN A WORLD OF MY OWN.

Karen says, DAD LIKES GRETA AND MUM LIKES GERDA, BUT I DON'T THINK THEY'RE SPECIAL ENOUGH. IF ONLY YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT YOU'D LIKE TO BE CALLED.

Olga narrates, GRETA? GERDA? I DIDN'T LIKE THE SOUND OF THOSE NAMES AT ALL. I NEEDED A GRAND NAME, ONE THAT WAS TRULY BEFITTING OF MY ROYAL HERITAGE.

Olga takes another nibble of her carrot.

[Munching]

Olga narrates an animated story that features a castle.

Olga narrates, I COME FROM A VERY LONG LINE OF ROYAL GUINEA PIGS. BACK THEN, THE WORLD WAS RULED BY A VERY BAD KING.

In the castle, two guinea pigs fan a king with feathers. The king lounges on a throne with his leg propped up on an armrest. The king wears a yellow long-sleeved shirt and red pants with his crown.

Olga narrates, HE WAS VERY LAZY AND MADE HIS GUINEA PIGS DO EVERYTHING FOR HIM.

A pair of guinea pigs carry a bowl of fruit over to the king. The king waves them away.

Olga narrates, SHINE HIS SHOES.

A guinea pig rubs another guinea pig against the king’s shoe.

[Squeaking]

Olga narrates, SWEEP HIS FLOORS.

Two guinea pigs hold onto a pole. One guinea pig sweeps the other guinea pig around the floor.

Olga narrates, EVEN CLEAN HIS DIRTY LAUNDRY!

Four guinea pigs straighten a bed sheet. They each hold one corner of the sheet and toss it in the air.

Olga narrates, UNTIL, ONE NIGHT, THE GUINEA PIGS HAD HAD ENOUGH.

The bed sheet falls on the guinea pigs.

Olga narrates, THEY CAME UP WITH A PLAN.

One of the guinea pigs crawls out from under the bed sheet and smiles.

Olga narrates, ALL THE GUINEA PIGS IN THE ENTIRE CASTLE GOT ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER AND PUT A WHITE SHEET OVER THEMSELVES!

The guinea pigs climb on top of each other. Two of the guinea pigs throw a bedsheet over them.

Olga narrates, THEN, THEY CREPT TO THE KING'S BEDROOM AND JUMPED IN!

Looking like a ghost, the guinea pigs under the bedsheet jump into the king’s bedroom where the king lies asleep in bed.

Like ghosts, the guinea pigs say, WHEE-EE-EE!

The king wakes up and yelps, HELP!

He runs past the guinea pigs and out of the room.

The king wails, MUMSY!

The guinea pigs drop the bedsheet.

Olga narrates, HE WAS SO SCARED, HE RAN AWAY AND WAS NEVER SEEN AGAIN.

The king runs out of the castle into a forest.

Olga narrates, THE PEOPLE WERE SO HAPPY, THEY CROWNED ALL THE GUINEA PIGS AS A SPECIAL REWARD, AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY IN THE PALACE FOREVER MORE.

The guinea pigs sit on thrones in front of a crowd. They all wear crowns.

[Crowd cheering]

Outside, the guinea pigs wave from different parts of the castle and the story ends. In the live-action flashback, Olga nibbles on her carrot. Karen closes the hutch.

Olga narrates, THAT'S WHY, TO THIS DAY, GUINEA PIGS STILL HAVE ROYAL BLOOD.

Mr. Sawdust opens the back door.

He calls out, DINNER, KAREN!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen climbs off the stool and skips toward the house.

[Olga squeaking]

Mr. Sawdust turns toward the house. He looks back toward Olga.

Mr. Sawdust says, SHE'S A NOISY ONE, ALL RIGHT.

Karen joins her dad.

Mr. Sawdust says, MAYBE WE SHOULD CALL HER SQUEAKY.

[Karen giggling]

Olga narrates, SQUEAKY? SQUEAKY?! NO!

She takes her carrot and runs to her room on the other side of the hutch. At night, the full moon shines brightly in the sky.

[Wind gusting]

[Owl hooting]

Olga stands by her food bowl in the moonlight.

Olga narrates, THAT NIGHT, I COULD HARDLY SLEEP. I SUPPOSE I SHOULD'VE BEEN GRATEFUL. I HAD A NICE NEW HOME, FOOD AND I WAS AMONG FRIENDS. BUT SQUEAKY?! I JUST COULDN'T BE CALLED THAT!

Olga climbs into a pile of hay in her bedroom. On a new day, Karen walks across the yard wearing a red jacket over her school uniform, a grey dress over a yellow polo shirt. Karen carries a book and a piece of lettuce.

Olga narrates, I WAS STILL THINKING ABOUT IT WHEN KAREN WOKE ME UP THE NEXT MORNING.

Karen leans her book against a tree stump in front of Olga’s hutch.

Karen says, WAKEY-WAKEY! I'VE BROUGHT YOU YOUR BREAKFAST BEFORE I GO TO SCHOOL.

She opens the hutch and places the lettuce in Olga’s food bowl. Olga scurries out of her bedroom.

Olga narrates, I WAS JUST STRETCHING MY LEGS WHEN IT HAPPENED.

She turns toward a window with a view of Karen’s book.

Olga narrates, THERE, IN FRONT OF ME, WAS A BEAUTIFUL PALACE, FIT FOR A PRINCESS, JUST LIKE I'D ALWAYS IMAGINED.

The book on the stump titled “Princess Olga” shows a princess with long black hair and a palace. Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Karen says, THAT'S MY SCHOOL BOOK. IT'S ABOUT A MYSTERIOUS PRINCESS CALLED OLGA. SHE'S BRAVE, ADVENTUROUS AND FEARLESS.

[Intense music plays]

Olga narrates, BRAVE, ADVENTUROUS AND FEARLESS! THAT WAS ME! OLGA! I WANTED THAT NAME!

Karen grabs her book and turns away.

Olga narrates, BUT HOW COULD I LET KAREN KNOW? THERE WAS ONLY ONE THING FOR IT.

Olga jumps around her hutch.

[Olga squeaking]

Karen asks, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

She sits on the stool with her book.

Karen asks, DO YOU LIKE THE NAME OLGA?

She holds up the book.

Olga narrates, I REALLY, REALLY DID!

Karen asks, WHAT ABOUT SOMETHING EVEN BETTER?

[Olga squeaking]

Karen asks, WHAT ABOUT OLGA DA POLGA?

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, OLGA DA POLGA.

Karen grins.

[Karen giggling]

Olga narrates, IT HAD A CERTAIN GRANDEUR ABOUT IT, A CERTAIN REGAL AIR! I DECIDED THERE AND THEN THAT THAT WAS THE ONLY NAME FOR ME. OLGA DA POLGA!

[Olga squeaking]

[Karen giggling]

[Olga squeaking]

Karen calls out, MUM, DAD!

Her mom steps outside wearing a dark blue blazer and a pink and green scarf. Mr. Sawdust follows.

[Olga squeaking]

Mrs. Sawdust asks, WHAT IS IT?

Karen says, COME HERE! LOOK!

Her parents walk across the yard to Olga’s hutch.

[Olga squeaking]

Mister and Missus Sawdust crouch behind Karen.

Karen says, MEET OLGA DA POLGA.

Mrs. Sawdust says, AW.

Mr. Sawdust says, WELL... IT'S UNUSUAL.

Mrs. Sawdust says, BUT IT SUITS HER. I LIKE IT.

Mr. Sawdust says, ME, TOO. WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, OLGA DA POLGA.

[Olga squeaking]

Mrs. Sawdust says, AWW.

[Mr. Sawdust chuckling]

Olga narrates, AND, REALLY, THERE WAS NOTHING MORE TO BE SAID.

[Olga squeaking]

[Gentle music plays]

[Birds chirping]

Elsewhere in the yard, Noel climbs off a stone wall. On a pink flower, a butterfly flaps its wings.

In the present, Olga narrates, AND, EVER SINCE THEN, I'VE HAD 'OLGA DA POLGA' WRITTEN ABOVE MY FRONT DOOR, A NAME NO ONE CAN FORGET.

A sign that reads, “Olga da Polga” hangs on Olga’s hutch. Karen feeds Olga a blade of grass.

[Olga squeaking]

[Gentle music plays]

Olga nibbles the grass.

[Dinging]

[Playful music plays]
