[Magical music plays]

In an animation, the sun shines brightly over a field of dandelions. A guinea pig with long brown fur frolics through the grass. In live action, the guinea pig rests in their hutch, a large wooden cage on posts in the Sawdust family’s backyard. Mister and Missus Sawdust stand by a gate in the fence and Karen, a girl with her long brown hair in braided pigtails, runs up to the guinea pig’s hutch with a kite.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

[Cheerful music plays]

The guinea pig sings, I'M A GUINEA PIG SENSATION, WITH A GREAT IMAGINATION. I'M OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

In live-action, in front of Olga’s hutch, Noel, a black cat, lies on the grass with Graham, a tortoise, and Fangio, a hedgehog. Mrs. Sawdust trims a bush. Mr. Sawdust builds a pen. Karen skips across the yard. Olga scratches her ear. Noel swats at Olga from the roof of her hutch.

At the backdoor of the Sawdust’s house, Karen says, BREAKFAST, OLGA!

Olga sings, MY HEAD IS FULL OF STORIES, OF DERRING-DO AND GLORIES, SO GATHER 'ROUND, AND LISTEN TO ME!

In animations, guinea pigs face a fire-breathing dragon, stand on a podium with first-place medals and look up at a princess locked in a castle.

A crowd cheers, HOORAY!

In live-action, Graham says, AMAZING.

Noel says, RIDICULOUS!

Fangio says, INTERESTING!

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

On a bench, Karen and Mister and Missus Sawdust pet Olga. At a competition, a person awards Karen and Olga a rosette. In the backyard, Karen puts a carrot in Olga’s food bowl.

Olga sings, OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Title: Olga da Polga. Based on the books by Michael Bond.

[Gentle music plays]

In live action, in the present day, the light wind gently blows throughout the Sawdust family’s backyard. It blows flowers and colourful squares of fabric hanging on the back fence. The episode title reads, “Olga’s Fun Run.”

[Birds chirping]

In her large pen in the middle of the yard, Olga stands near her food bowl.

Olga narrates, GUINEA PIGS ARE VERY HEALTHY. WE EAT LOTS OF VEGETABLES…

She takes a carrot out of her food bowl.

Olga narrates, …DRINK PLENTY OF WATER, AND LIKE NOTHING BETTER THAN A STROLL IN THE FRESH AIR.

She walks around the pen.

Olga narrates, BUT NOT MANY GUINEA PIGS HAVE DONE A FUN RUN, AND WON A MEDAL! LIKE ME!

[Olga munching]

In a flashback, the sun shines brightly over the backyard.

Olga narrates, IT ALL STARTED ONE MORNING, WHEN, AS I WAS CHATTING TO FANGIO AND GRAHAM, I HAD A GREAT SHOCK.

Fangio sniffs around a log near Olga’s hutch. Graham lies on the grass facing the hutch.

[Intense music plays]

Karen walks out the back door with her mum and dad. They all wear athletic clothes. Karen wears a purple long-sleeved shirt and leggings. Mrs. Sawdust wears a short-sleeved pink T-shirt and leggings. She and Karen wear their long brown hair in ponytails. Mr. Sawdust has a thick grey beard. He wears a grey long-sleeved shirt over a blue T-shirt, track pants and a sweatband across his forehead.

Karen cheers, YAY!

Mrs. Sawdust cheers, WHOO-HOO!

Karen cheers, WHOO-HOO!

The Sawdust family jog down the stairs and start stretching. Karen does a lunge.

[Family cheering faintly]

Olga narrates, THE SAWDUST FAMILY WERE DRESSED VERY STRANGELY.

Mr. Sawdust does jumping jacks. Mrs. Sawdust jogs on the spot.

Mr. Sawdust says, OOH, IT'S A LOVELY MORNING FOR IT!

Mrs. Sawdust says, PERFECT!

Olga narrates, AND INSTEAD OF MOVING IN THEIR USUAL WAY, THEY KEPT JUMPING UP AND DOWN IN A VERY ODD MANNER.

Karen and her parents continue their warm-up exercises.

Mrs. Sawdust says, TWICE ROUND THE BLOCK!

Mr. Sawdust raises his arms above his head.

He says, OOH. READY? STEADY?

Karen runs over to Olga’s hutch.

Mr. Sawdust says, GO!

Karen says, SEE YA LATER, OLGA!

She waves and follows her parents to the gate. Mr. Sawdust opens the gate and follows Karen and Mrs. Sawdust out of the yard. He closes the gate behind him.

[Gate clicking shut]

Olga narrates, AND WHEN THEY DISAPPEARED ROUND THE CORNER OF THE HOUSE...

The Sawdusts run alongside the gate and down the driveway.

Olga narrates, IT WAS AS IF THEY WERE BEING CHASED BY A GREAT BIG MONSTER! I HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS GOING ON.

She nibbles on a blade of grass. Noel climbs outside through the cat door.

Olga narrates, BUT I KNEW WHO WOULD!

She stands up against the fenced wall of her hutch.

Olga calls out, NOEL!

Noel runs up the small hill facing Olga’s hutch.

Olga asks, WHY ARE THE SAWDUST BEHAVING SO STRANGELY?

Fangio raises his snout.

[Fangio sniffing]

Noel says, OH, THAT. THEY'RE DOING A FUN RUN. I HEARD THEM TALKING ABOUT IT.

Graham says, WHAT'S A FUN RUN?

Noel says, APPARENTLY THEY HAVE TO RUN A MILE WITHOUT STOPPING.

Olga narrates, A MILE? WITHOUT STOPPING? EVEN FOR A CARROT?

She says out loud, THAT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE FUN TO ME!

Noel says, WELL, IT WOULDN'T. THE ONLY EXERCISE GUINEA PIGS GET IS WHEN THEY EAT. SITTING IN A HUTCH ALL DAY, I'M SURPRISED YOU DON'T STIFFEN UP. YOU'D NEVER BE ABLE TO DO A FUN RUN.

Olga narrates, WELL, REALLY! CATS.

She says out loud, ACTUALLY, THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE WRONG! GUINEA PIGS HAPPEN TO BE VERY GOOD AT SPORTS. IN FACT, ONE OF MY RELATIVES, OLGA…

Fangio says, HMM?

Olga says, ….FRANZEN…

Graham says, MMM?

Olga says, …THOMPSON…

[Noel sighing exasperatedly]

Olga says, …IS A MULTIPLE GOLD MEDAL WINNER.

In an animated story, a guinea pig with light brown hair wears a yellow sleeveless shirt with a number 3 race bib. The guinea pig stands on a track by a sign that reads, “World Guinea Pig Championships.”

Olga narrates, EVERY YEAR IN A COUNTRY CALLED PERU, THE WORLD GUINEA PIG CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE HELD.

Olga narrates, GUINEA PIGS FROM EVERYWHERE COME TO COMPETE IN ALL TYPES OF SPORTS.

Another guinea pig athlete leaps over a strand of grass propped up between two sticks onto a pile of hay. Another guinea pig pushes a shot-put ball off their shoulder.

Olga adds, AND OLGA FRANZEN-THOMPSON WINS THEM ALL!

The guinea pig in the number 3 bib races down a track with a guinea pig in a number 1 and number 2 bib.

Olga narrates, THE TWO-METRE DANDELION SPRINT…

[Crowd cheering]

[Cheering]

Olga narrates, SHE'S THE GREATEST GUINEA PIG SPORTS CHAMPION EVER!

Olga Franzen Thompson catches a bouquet of grass.

[Crowd cheering]

Olga Franzen Thompson nibbles on the bouquet.

[Cheering continues]

The story ends.

In the live-action flashback, Graham says, I WISH I WAS SPORTY.

Fangio says, CARROT THROWING? INTERESTING.

Olga says, SHE'S GOT SO MANY GOLD MEDALS, SHE NEEDS FOUR HUTCHES TO KEEP THEM IN.

Noel says, SHAME YOU DIDN'T FOLLOW IN HER FOOTSTEPS.

Olga narrates, WELL! I'LL SHOW HIM.

She nibbles on a piece of shaved carrot in her food bowl.

[Munching]

[Gentle music plays]

On a new day, the sun shines brightly through the lush trees around the Sawdust family’s backyard.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, I GOT INTO SOME SERIOUS TRAINING.

In the bedroom of her hutch, Olga lies under a pile of hay. In their athletic clothes, the Sawdust family runs across the yard.

Mrs. Sawdust says, OKAY, TEAM SAWDUST?

Mr. Sawdust and Karen exchange two thumbs-up.

Mrs. Sawdust says, WE SHAKE. IT'S TIME TO WARM UP. ALL RIGHT?

The Sawdusts shake out their arms.

Mrs. Sawdust says, LET'S STRETCH UP.

The Sawdusts stretch their arms up high.

Mrs. Sawdust says, OKAY, BEND TO THE SIDE.

The Sawdusts stretch to their left. Karen stretches and grabs her ankle.

Mr. Sawdust grunts, OOH!

Mrs. Sawdust says, THE OTHER SIDE.

The Sawdusts stretch to their right.

Mr. Sawdust groans, OGH!

Mrs. Sawdust says, THAT'S IT.

The Sawdusts reach up high.

Mrs. Sawdust says, UP HERE, OUR FEET TOGETHER, TOUCH OUR TOES.

Karen bends and touches her toes. Mr. Sawdust leans forward and hangs his arms in front of him.

Mr. Sawdust groans, OGH!

Mrs. Sawdust reaches for her toes. She glances at Mr. Sawdust and shakes her head.

[Mr. Sawdust groaning]

[Karen giggling]

Mrs. Sawdust stands up straight and jogs on the spot.

She says, THAT'S GREAT. LET'S GO!

Karen stands up straight.

[Karen giggling]

Karen waves toward Olga’s hutch. Still bent forward, Mr. Sawdust follows Karen and Mrs. Sawdust toward the gate.

Olga narrates, I WOUND UP IN MY HAY.

She remains nestled in her pile of hay.

[Gentle music plays]

Graham lies on hay in his hutch.

[Graham yawning]

Mr. Sawdust asks, STOPWATCH READY, KAREN?

He jogs on the spot beside Mrs. Sawdust. Karen stands by the back door with a stopwatch.

Karen says, YEP! READY, STEADY, GO!

She starts the stopwatch and runs down the steps. Mr. Sawdust opens the gate and Karen and Mrs. Sawdust run through. Mr. Sawdust follows and closes the gate.

[Gate squeaking]

[Gate clicking shut]

The Sawdusts run down the driveway. Later in the backyard, Noel scratches the back of his neck.

Olga narrates, I TIMED RUNS WITH THE HELP OF GRAHAM AND FANGIO.

Fangio stands by a flower bed with Graham.

Olga says, SO…

She nibbles on a leaf.

Olga says, …SEE HOW FAR YOU CAN GET BY THE TIME I CHEW THIS DANDELION LEAF.

[Olga munching]

Graham asks, WHY AREN'T YOU DOING IT, OLGA?

Fangio says, YOU'RE THE ONE MEANT TO BE DOING THE FUN RUN.

Olga says, SOMEONE HAS TO KEEP TIME. READY, SET, GO!

She continues eating her dandelion leaf. Fangio slowly starts walking alongside the flower bed.

[Fangio sniffing]

Graham remains in his spot beside the flower bed.

Olga narrates, BUT THEY WEREN'T VERY GOOD. GRAHAM HADN'T MOVED AN INCH.

[Olga munching]

Olga adds, AND FANGIO WAS BUSY CATCHING SLUGS IN THE CORNER.

Fangio sniffs around a pile of dry grass and fallen leaves.

[Fangio sniffing]

Olga narrates, THEY WEREN'T TAKING IT SERIOUSLY AT ALL.

Graham walks toward the flower bed.

[Olga sighing in annoyance]

Elsewhere in the garden, a butterfly perches on a purple flower.

[Birds chirping]

Later in the yard, Karen walks toward Olga’s hutch. Mrs. Sawdust takes a seat in a folding chair.

Karen says, THAT WAS FUN!

She sits on the hill in front of Olga’s hutch. Mr. Sawdust carries a tray of glasses outside.

Mr. Sawdust says, MUST STAY HYDRATED!

He walks over to Mrs. Sawdust. Mrs. Sawdust takes a glass off the tray.

Olga narrates, I EVEN DRANK LOTS OF WATER.

She drinks from the bottle in her hutch. Mr. Sawdust takes a seat beside Karen. Karen looks over her shoulder toward Olga.

[Laren giggling]

Karen says, LOOK, OLGA'S COPYING US!

Mr. Sawdust turns and glances at Olga.

Mrs. Sawdust says, AWW.

[Karen giggling]

Mrs. Sawdust joins Karen and Mr. Sawdust.

Mrs. Sawdust says, GOOD GIRL, OLGA. KEEPIN' NICE AND FIT LIKE US.

Karen says, IT'S THE FUN RUN TOMORROW, OLGA. I CAN'T WAIT!

Olga narrates, NEITHER COULD I. I FELT SURE I WAS GOING TO WIN!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen sips her drink.

[Gentle music plays]

The wind gently blows purple flowers in the grass.

Olga narrates, NEXT MORNING I WAS UP AND READY.

She runs around her hutch.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga says, HELLO? HELLO?

Fangio says, THEY'VE GONE, OLGA.

Olga says, GONE? GONE WHERE?

Fangio says, THEY GOT UP REALLY EARLY AND WENT OUT THE FRONT DOOR, TO THE FUN RUN.

Olga says, BUT WHAT ABOUT ME?

Fangio sniffs the grass at his feet.

[Sniffing]

Olga says, I PUT IN A LOT OF HARD WORK!

Fangio says, SORRY, OLGA.

He starts to walk away.

[Fangio sniffing]

[Fangio humming]

Olga narrates, I WAS SO ANNOYED I WENT BACK TO MY BED TO SLEEP OFF THE WHOLE THING.

She climbs into a pile of hay in her bedroom.

Olga narrates, AND I WAS STILL THERE WHEN THE SAWDUSTS ARRIVED BACK.

[Gate clicking shut]

Karen skips into the backyard holding Mrs. Sawdust’s hand. Mr. Sawdust locks the gate. The Sawdusts each wear a medal.

Mrs. Sawdust says, THAT WAS FUN!

[Mrs. Sawdust sighing]

Olga steps out of her room.

Karen says, OLGA!

She runs over to Olga’s hutch. Mr. Sawdust grabs a chair out of the shed.

[Mr. Sawdust sighing tiredly]

Mrs. Sawdust says, DON'T SIT DOWN. YOU HAVE TO GIVE OLGA HER BREAKFAST. SHE'LL BE HUNGRY.

Mr. Sawdust nods. Mrs. Sawdust smiles. Karen looks through the window of Olga’s hutch.

Karen says, COME ON, OLGA. IT'S TIME YOU HAD A BIT OF SUNSHINE INSTEAD OF LYING IN YOUR BED ALL DAY. IT'S TIME TO GO IN YOUR RUN.

Olga narrates, RUN? DID SHE SAY "RUN"?

Karen opens Olga’s hutch. She holds Olga close. On the fence, a bird flies down to a birdhouse.

Olga narrates, THAT'S WHEN I KNEW! THE LONG, FRESH GRASS. THE SUNSHINE, THE CROWDS!

Olga wanders around her pen, also known as a run.

Olga narrates, THIS WAS MY MOMENT!

She runs alongside a wall of the pen.

Outside the pen, Graham says, WHOOOA.

Olga runs around a guinea pig house inside the pen.

Mr. Sawdust says, WOW!

[Karen and Mrs. Sawdust giggling]

Karen and Mrs. Sawdust watch Olga run around the pen.

They say, AWW!

[Karen and Mrs. Sawdust giggling]

[Olga panting]

Fangio watches Olga run. Mr. Sawdust joins Karen and Mrs. Sawdust.

[Mr. Sawdust chuckling]

Mrs. Sawdust asks, WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO OLGA?

Mr. Sawdust says, I'VE NEVER SEEN HER MOVE AS MUCH!

Olga sprints across her pen.

[Olga panting]

Olga narrates, I'D DONE IT! ONE WHOLE LAP OF MY RUN! OH, I WAS EXHAUSTED.

She drinks her water.

Karen says, HERE YOU GO, OLGA.

She takes off her medal.

Karen says, I THINK YOU DESERVE THIS.

She hangs the medal on the sign with Olga’s name on the hutch.

Olga narrates, I'D DONE IT. I'D WON A GOLD MEDAL!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen puts Olga back in her hutch.

Karen says, THERE YOU GO, OLGA.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga nibbles on a blade of grass. Mr. Sawdust kneels beside the hutch.

Mr. Sawdust says, YOU'LL BE NEEDING THIS AFTER ALL THAT EXERCISE.

He puts a handful of baby carrots beside Olga’s food bowl and Karen closes the hutch.

[Hutch clicking closed]

Mr. Sawdust says, THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!

He and Karen walk away. Noel walks up the small hill facing Olga.

Noel asks, SO, WHAT DID I MISS?

He flicks his tail.

Olga narrates, REALLY! CATS COULD BE SO SILLY SOMETIMES.

Noel asks, WHAT'S THAT?

He looks up toward the medal hanging over Olga’s hutch.

Olga says, OH! JUST MY GOLD MEDAL, FROM THE FUN RUN.

Noel says, YOU ACTUALLY WON?

Olga says, WELL, I TOLD YOU GUINEA PIGS WERE GOOD AT SPORTS.

Noel says, HM.

He turns and walks away.

Olga narrates, AND ALTHOUGH I HADN'T DONE THE FUN RUN WITH KAREN, I'D HAD FUN IN MY RUN!
