[Magical music plays]

In an animation, the sun shines brightly over a field of dandelions. A guinea pig with long brown fur frolics through the grass. In live action, the guinea pig rests in their hutch, a large wooden cage on posts in the Sawdust family’s backyard. Mister and Missus Sawdust stand by a gate in the fence and Karen, a girl with her long brown hair in braided pigtails, runs up to the guinea pig’s hutch with a kite.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

[Cheerful music plays]

The guinea pig sings, I'M A GUINEA PIG SENSATION, WITH A GREAT IMAGINATION. I'M OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

Facing Olga’s hutch, Noel, a black cat, lies on the grass with Graham, a tortoise, and Fangio, a hedgehog. Mrs. Sawdust trims a bush. Mr. Sawdust builds a pen. Karen skips across the yard. Olga scratches her ear. Noel swats at Olga from the roof of her hutch.

At the backdoor of the Sawdust’s house, Karen says, BREAKFAST, OLGA!

Olga sings, MY HEAD IS FULL OF STORIES, OF DERRING-DO AND GLORIES, SO GATHER 'ROUND, AND LISTEN TO ME!

In animations, Olga faces a fire-breathing dragon, stands on a podium with first-place medals and looks up at a princess locked in a castle.

A crowd cheers, HOORAY!

In live-action, Graham says, AMAZING.

Noel says, RIDICULOUS!

Fangio says, INTERESTING!

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

On a bench, Karen and Mister and Missus Sawdust pet Olga. At a competition, a person awards Karen and Olga a rosette. In the backyard, Karen puts a carrot in Olga’s food bowl.

Olga sings, OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Title: Olga da Polga. Based on the books by Michael Bond.

[Gentle music plays]

In live-action, a bird perches in a tree with red and green leaves.

[Bird chirping]

The episode title reads, “Olga’s Off Day.”

In the Sawdust’s backyard, Fangio wanders alongside one of the box gardens.

[Fangio singing]

Karen cleans out hay on one side of Olga da Polga’s hutch using a dustpan and hand broom. Karen wears a raincoat, rain pants and boots. She brushes hay into the dustpan and then dumps the hay in a bucket. On the other side of the hutch, Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, LIFE IS REALLY RATHER PLEASANT WITH THE SAWDUST FAMILY. I'VE GOT A LOVELY HOME.

Karen closes the hutch. Elsewhere in the yard, Graham crawls through the grass.

Olga narrates, FRIENDS LIKE GRAHAM TO CHAT TO.

Behind a bench, Noel lies on a stone wall. The venerable toad lies on a rock beside the pond.

[Toad croaking]

Olga narrates, AND, OF COURSE, KAREN, WHO TAKES CARE OF MY EVERY NEED.

Karen closes Olga’s hutch and walks to the other side. Karen crouches and looks inside.

Karen says, ALL CLEAN. AND YOU'VE GOT FRESH WATER.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, YES, IT'S A VERY NICE PLACE TO LIVE. PERHAPS THE BEST, AS I RECENTLY FOUND OUT.

[Dinging]

By the fence, Fangio walks through a patch of white and orange flowers.

[Sniffing]

Graham lies on straw in his hutch.

[Graham yawning]

[Birds chirping]

Olga narrates over a live-action flashback, IT WAS LATE IN THE AFTERNOON. KAREN WAS AT A PLACE CALLED "SCHOOL." MRS. SAWDUST WAS AT ANOTHER PLACE CALLED "WORK."

In the flashback, Olga lies in her bedroom in the hutch.

Olga narrates, AND MR. SAWDUST...

[Hammer banging]

Mr. Sawdust builds a pen in the middle of the backyard. He has short, dark grey hair and a thick grey beard. Mr. Sawdust wears a red plaid, button-down shirt over a blue T-shirt. He hammers a piece of wood.

Olga narrates, WELL, HE WAS MAKING A RACKET RIGHT OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM!

[Hammer banging]

Mr. Sawdust holds a level over a side of the pen.

[Mr. Sawdust grunting]

Mr. Sawdust drops his hammer in a toolbox and stands up straight.

[Mr. Sawdust sighing]

Mr. Sawdust asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK, OLGA? IT'S A SUMMER RUN FOR YOU, TO STRETCH YOUR LEGS AND KEEP YOU SAFE FROM OTHER ANIMALS.

He walks over to Olga’s hutch.

Olga narrates, A SUMMER RUN? WELL, I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!

Mr. Sawdust picks up Olga.

[Olga squeaking]

Beside a flower bed, Noel looks over his shoulder. Mr. Sawdust sets Olga down in the new pen, the summer run.

Olga narrates, WHAT WOULD THE SAWDUST FAMILY THINK OF NEXT?

She explores the run. Three of the run’s walls are made of mesh fencing and inside is a small wooden house.

[Olga squeaking]

[Noel sighing]

[Olga squeaking]

Mr. Sawdust packs up his tools.

Olga narrates, HOW DELIGHTFUL! I WAS JUST ON MY SECOND LAP OF THE RUN WHEN I SAW IT.

Across the yard, Fangio walks alongside a flower bed. Graham rests in the grass beside him.

[Fangio singing]

[Fangio sniffing]

In the run, Olga asks, WHAT IS THAT PRICKLY BALL? IT MOVED!

Noel says, THAT'S NOT A BALL. IT'S FANGIO. HE'S A HEDGEHOG.

Olga says, A HEDGEHOG?!

Noel says, HE'S PART ITALIAN, PART ARGENTINIAN, YOU KNOW.

[Fangio singing]

Olga narrates, I WAS INTRIGUED. I'D NEVER MET A HEDGEHOG BEFORE.

Noel climbs onto a flower bed with yellow flowers.

[Fangio singing]

Fangio wanders across the yard to Olga’s run.

[Fangio sniffing]

Olga walks up to the fencing of her run.

Fangio says, I'VE HEARD ABOUT YOU. YOU'RE OLGA DA POLGA. YOU ARE A GUINEA PIG WHO TELLS TALES.

Olga says, SOMETIMES, WHEN THE MOOD TAKES ME.

Fangio says, WELL, I COULD TELL YOU A TALE OR TWO, ABOUT ELYSIAN FIELDS.

[Magical music plays]

Olga asks, ELYSIAN FIELDS?

Fangio says, YES. WHERE I LIVE. JUST THROUGH THAT SHRUBBERY.

Tall shrubbery lines the back of the yard.

Fangio says, THERE IS EVERYTHING YOU COULD WANT THERE.

Graham slowly turns his head toward the shrubbery.

Fangio says, GREEN MEADOWS, FLORA AND FAUNA.

A butterfly flies off a purple flower.

Graham says, AMAZING.

Fangio says, SHADY NOOKS! ALL YOU CAN EAT.

He licks his lips.

[Slurping]

Olga says, ALL YOU CAN EAT?

Fangio says, YES! I WOULDN'T WANT TO BE AT THE BECK AND CALL OF OTHERS. LIKE YOU. I LIKE TO STAND ON MY OWN FOUR PAWS.

Olga says, I'M QUITE HAPPY WHERE I AM, THANK YOU. AND I'M KEPT SAFE FROM OTHER ANIMALS.

[Graham gulping]

Noel looks around the yard.

Fangio says, WHO CARES ABOUT OTHER ANIMALS? I'D LIKE TO SEE AN ANIMAL WHO COULD FRIGHTEN ME.

Olga asks, WHAT ABOUT DOGS?

Fangio says, DOGS?! WHERE?!

[Graham whimpering]

Olga says, I CAN TELL YOU A STORY IF YOU LIKE.

[Fangio grunting]

Fangio walks away from Olga’s run.

Olga narrates, BUT FANGIO WAS ALREADY DISAPPEARING INTO THE SHRUBBERY, VERY QUICKLY.

[Fangio grunting]

Fangio walks into the shrubbery.

He says, BACK TO BUSHES, SAFE FROM DOGS.

In the trees above, birds perch on branches.

[Birds chirping]

A bee climbs around a white flower.

[Buzzing]

The bee flies away and a bird leaps out of a birdhouse on the fence.

[Wings flapping]

Karen walks through the gate into the yard. She wears her long brown hair in braided pigtails and purple overalls over a pink long-sleeved shirt with orange polka dots.

[Lock clicking]

Karen says, OLGA!

She runs through the gate. Mr. Sawdust smiles and follows Karen into the yard with a tote bag. He closes the gate behind him.

[Lock clicking]

Karen looks at Olga in the summer run.

Karen says, LOOK AT YOU IN YOUR SUMMER RUN, OLGA! YOU CAN RUN AROUND ALL DAY.

Mr. Sawdust climbs up the steps to the back door. Olga nibbles on a blade of grass.

Olga narrates, IT WAS NICE, BUT EVER SINCE SPEAKING TO FANGIO, I FELT STRANGELY UNSETTLED.

[Gloomy music plays]

Olga narrates I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE SAWDUST FAMILY, BUT THE ELYSIAN FIELDS SOUNDED SO MUCH MORE... EXCITING.

Olga puts her front paws up against the back wall of her run.

[Magical music plays]

Olga narrates an animated story. In the animation, Olga walks through tall grass toward a pile of carrots.

Olga narrates, CARROTS PILED UP TO THE SKY. MEADOWS OF LUSCIOUS LONG GREEN GRASS.

She frolics through a meadow.

Olga adds, AND DANDELIONS SO BIG, THERE WAS SNOW ON TOP!

Snow piles on top of a tall dandelion.

Olga narrates, IT WOULD BE PERFECT.

She nibbles on a blade of grass and the story ends.

In the live-action flashback, Olga narrates, I COULD IMAGINE IT ALL.

Karen frowns. Mr. Sawdust walks over and crouches beside her.

Karen says, SHE DOESN'T SEEM HERSELF TODAY.

Mr. Sawdust says, HMM. MAYBE SHE'S HAVING AN OFF DAY. I'LL CHANGE HER WATER. WHY DON'T YOU GET HER A TREAT?

He takes Olga’s water bottle off the run.

Karen says, BE BACK IN A MINUTE, OLGA.

She follows her dad back to the house.

Olga narrates, THAT'S WHEN I SAW IT. MR. SAWDUST HAD PUT THE RUN DOWN ON A SMALL PIECE OF WOOD, LEAVING A SPACE UNDERNEATH.

Olga scurries over to a corner of the run propped up on a piece of wood.

Olga narrates, I HAD TO DO IT. I HAD TO GO TO THE ELYSIAN FIELDS!

She slips through the space under the run and runs away.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga explores shrubbery in the yard.

Olga narrates, THIS IS THE LIFE!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen runs outside with a bowl. Mr. Sawdust follows with Olga’s water.

Karen says, CARROTS, OLGA!

She walks over to Olga’s run and furrows her brow.

Karen says, OLGA?

She crouches and looks in the run.

Karen says, OLGA IS GONE!

Her dad kneels beside her.

[Mr. Sawdust chuckling]

Mr. Sawdust says, SHE CAN'T BE GONE. THERE'S NOWHERE TO GET OUT.

[Mr. Sawdust chuckling]

Mr. Sawdust looks around the run and spots the open space in the corner.

He says, OH...

Karen says, DAD, YOU DIDN'T PUT IT BACK PROPERLY!

Mr. Sawdust says, AH, WELL, DON'T WORRY. SHE CAN'T HAVE GONE FAR. SHE'LL BE IN THE GARDEN SOMEWHERE.

Karen pushes the bowl into her dad’s hands and runs across the yard.

Karen and Mr. Sawdust yell, OLGA?

Karen calls out, OLGA!

Mr. Sawdust stands and yells, OLGA!

Karen looks between two bushes and yells, OLGA!

Mr. Sawdust yells, OLGA!

He and Karen look around the yard. Karen looks in Graham’s hutch.

She says, OLGA?

In the shrubbery, Olga stands in dirt, sticks and fallen leaves.

Olga narrates, I WAS HAVING AN OFF DAY FROM THE SAWDUSTS! I WAS STANDING ON MY OWN FOUR PAWS! OR, RATHER, MY OWN FOUR PAWS WERE STANDING IN A PILE OF WEEDS.

Olga stops and looks around at the muddy ground around her.

She narrates, I DIDN'T WANT TO ADMIT IT, BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED. FROM A DISTANCE, THE SHRUBBERY LOOKED LIKE A SHADY NOOK WITH BRANCHES THAT SWAYED IN THE BREEZE.

Olga scuttles away.

She narrates, BUT ACTUALLY, IT WAS MUCKY AND OVERGROWN. BUT I WASN'T GOING TO LET THAT STOP ME FROM GETTING TO THE ELYSIAN FIELDS!

Olga continues through the overgrown shrubbery.

She narrates, ONWARDS, OLGA!

[Rustling]

In the backyard, Karen looks worried. She walks over to the shrubbery at the back of the yard.

Karen says, POOR OLGA! SHE MIGHT BE SCARED. WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENED TO HER?

[Rustling]

Mr. Sawdust pokes his head out of the shrubbery.

[Mr. Sawdust grunting and groaning]

Mr. Sawdust says, KNOWING OLGA, SHE'S PROBABLY HAVING A BIG ADVENTURE. LET'S CHECK THE OTHER GARDENS.

Karen says, OKAY.

She turns away. Mr. Sawdust climbs back into the shrubbery. Elsewhere in the shrubbery, Olga peaks through an opening.

Olga narrates, IT WAS OKAY FOR FANGIO. HE HAD PRICKLES TO PROTECT HIM. I WAS BEGINNING TO THINK I'D NEVER GET OUT OF THE SHRUBBERY WHEN I SAW A LIGHT.

[Dramatic music plays]

A bright light shines.

[Magical music plays]

The sun shines over a field of lush grass with trees and hills in the distance and an upside-down wheelbarrow.

Olga narrates, THE ELYSIAN FIELDS!

[Birds chirping]

Olga narrates, THIS IS THE LIFE!

[Olga squeaking]

Olga explores the field. She walks up to a broken brick and piles of fallen branches.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, OH! I COULDN'T CONTAIN MY DISMAY.

She scurries between two rocks and over a pile of dry branches.

Olga narrates, THE ELYSIAN FIELDS WERE NOTHING MORE THAN AN OVERGROWN MESS.

She crawls through overgrown grass and over a piece of wet cardboard.

Olga narrates, AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, IT WAS STARTING TO RAIN!

She crawls into an opening under the upside-down wheelbarrow.

[Rain pattering]

Fangio wanders over to the wheelbarrow.

[Fangio humming]

Fangio says, OLGA! YOU DECIDED TO COME! ENJOYING YOURSELF?

Olga says, ENJOYING MYSELF?! I'VE NEVER UN-ENJOYED MYSELF SO MUCH IN MY WHOLE LIFE!

Fangio says, WELL! THERE WILL BE LOTS OF FLIES AND INSECTS ABOUT WHEN IT STOPS RAINING.

Olga narrates, FANGIO WAS WELCOME TO HIS INSECTS. I JUST WANTED TO BE BACK IN MY GARDEN WITH THE SAWDUSTS. AND KAREN.

Karen calls out, OLGA! OLGA!

Mr. Sawdust yells, OLGA!

Karen yells, OLGA!

Fangio says, I'M OFF.

He leaves.

Mr. Sawdust calls out, OLGA DA POLGA!

Karen yells, OLGA!

Olga says, KAREN?!

[Olga squeaking]

Mr. Sawdust says, I HEAR HER!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen yells, OLGA!

Karen and Mr. Sawdust reach the wheelbarrow. They lift the wheelbarrow off OIga.

[Olga whimpering]

Olga narrates, IT WAS TIME TO GO HOME!

Mr. Sawdust picks up Olga.

[Gentle music plays]

In a field, sheep graze.

[Sheep bleating]

In the Sawdust’s backyard, Graham crawls onto a stone. Outside Olga’s hutch, Karen holds Olga.

Karen says, OH, OLGA, WE WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU.

Olga narrates, I WAS WORRIED ABOUT MYSELF TOO.

Karen gently pets Olga.

Olga narrates, I DREADED TO THINK WHAT A MESS MY FUR WAS IN.

Karen says, YOU SHOULD NEVER GO OFF LIKE THAT AGAIN.

Olga narrates, I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T! I WAS NEVER HAVING ANOTHER "OFF DAY" EVER, EVER AGAIN.

[Fangio humming]

Fangio weaves around flower pots in the yard. Noel walks alongside flower pots by the stairs. In her rain gear, Karen walks over to Olga’s hutch.

Olga narrates, AFTER THAT DAY, I DECIDED THERE REALLY IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME.

Karen opens the hutch.

She says, HERE WE GO, OLGA.

Karen gives Olga a leafy green and closes the hutch. She smiles at Olga and walks away.

Olga narrates, THIS IS THE LIFE.

She nibbles on a blade of grass.

[Munching]
