[Magical music plays]

In an animation, the sun shines brightly over a field of dandelions. A guinea pig with long brown fur frolics through the grass. In live action, the guinea pig rests in their hutch, a large wooden cage on posts in the Sawdust family’s backyard. Mister and Missus Sawdust stand by a gate in the fence and Karen, a girl with her long brown hair in braided pigtails, runs up to the guinea pig’s hutch with a kite.

[Guinea pig squeaking]

[Cheerful music plays]

The guinea pig sings, I'M A GUINEA PIG SENSATION, WITH A GREAT IMAGINATION. I'M OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

Facing Olga’s hutch, Noel, a black cat, lies on the grass with Graham, a tortoise, and Fangio, a hedgehog. Mrs. Sawdust trims a bush. Mr. Sawdust builds a pen. Karen skips across the yard. Olga scratches her ear. Noel swats at Olga from the roof of her hutch.

At the backdoor of the Sawdust’s house, Karen says, BREAKFAST, OLGA!

Olga sings, MY HEAD IS FULL OF STORIES, OF DERRING-DO AND GLORIES, SO GATHER 'ROUND, AND LISTEN TO ME!

In animations, Olga faces a fire-breathing dragon, stands on a podium with first-place medals and looks up at a princess locked in a castle.

A crowd cheers, HOORAY!

In live-action, Graham says, AMAZING.

Noel says, RIDICULOUS!

Fangio says, INTERESTING!

[Gentle, cheerful music plays]

On a bench, Karen and Mister and Missus Sawdust pet Olga. At a competition, a person awards Karen and Olga a rosette. In the backyard, Karen puts a carrot in Olga’s food bowl.

Olga sings, OLGA DA POLGA, THAT'S ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Title: Olga da Polga. Based on the books by Michael Bond.

[Gentle music plays]

[Birds chirping]

In live-action, in the present day, birds fly around the colourful trees in the Sawdust’s backyard. Light wind gently blows squares of fabric hanging against the fence. In her hutch, Olga da Polga nibbles on a piece of grass. The episode title reads, “Olga’s Got Talent.”

Olga narrates, PEOPLE SAY THAT CATS ARE CLEVER, BUT, WHEN IT COMES TO PURE STAR QUALITY, YOU CAN'T GET MUCH MORE TALENTED THAN A GUINEA PIG.

On the grass, Noel lies on a pink towel. Karen kneels beside Noel and pets his head.

Olga adds, AND WHEN YOU'VE GOT A GUINEA PIG LIKE ME, AND A SAWDUST PERSON LIKE KAREN, IT'S A UNBEATABLE TEAM!

[Dinging]

In a flashback, the sky is dull.

[Wind lightly gusting]

Olga narrates, IT ALL STARTED ON A DULL SCHOOL MORNING.

Graham’s hutch, Graham lies on straw at the door.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, I WAS HUNGRY FOR MY BREAKFAST, BUT SOMETHING SEEMED TO BE HOLDING THINGS UP.

In the Sawdust’s kitchen, Noel lies on the tile floor.

Mr. Sawdust says, I'M JUST NOT SURE YOU CAN TAKE A CAT INTO SCHOOL.

He leans against the countertop with his arms crossed. Mr. Sawdust has short, dark grey hair and a thick grey beard. He wears a red plaid, button-down shirt over a blue T-shirt. Karen stands by the sink with Mrs. Sawdust. Karen wears her long brown hair in braided pigtails and her school uniform, a grey dress over a yellow polo shirt. Mrs. Sawdust has long blond hair and wears a dark blue blazer with a green and pink scarf.

Mr. Sawdust adds, AND I DON'T THINK NOEL WOULD BE THAT HAPPY ABOUT IT.

Karen looks disappointed.

Mrs. Sawdust says, HE'D PROBABLY THINK HE'S BEING TAKEN TO THE VET. THAT WOULDN'T BE ENJOYABLE AT ALL!

[Noel meowing]

Karen glances at Noel.

[Mr. Sawdust scoffing]

Mr. Sawdust says, FOR ANY OF US.

Karen says, SOPHIE AND LEE ARE TAKING THEIR RABBITS. I THINK GRAHAM WOULD BE OKAY.

[Karen gasping]

Karen says, OR SHOULD I TAKE OLGA?

Mr. Sawdust says, WELL, THERE'S PLENTY OF TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT.

Mrs. Sawdust says, OH... IT'S NEARLY TIME TO GO, KAREN, BUT YOU'VE GOT TO FEED GRAHAM AND OLGA FIRST.

Karen says, OKAY!

[Gentle, bright music plays]

Mr. Sawdust gives Karen a bowl of lettuce. Karen skips through the kitchen and out the back door.

Karen calls out, BREAKFAST, OLGA!

Olga narrates, AH! AT LAST.

Karen walks up to Olga’s hutch. She opens the door and puts a leaf of lettuce in Olga’s food dish.

Karen says, HERE YOU GO.

She closes the door and looks through the glass. Olga nibbles on the lettuce.

Karen says, I CAN'T DECIDE WHO TO TAKE FOR SHOW AND TELL AT SCHOOL, OLGA. LEE'S TAKING BUGSY, AND SOPHIE'S TAKING MR. NIBBLES.

Olga narrates, TO BE HONEST, AT THAT MOMENT I WASN'T REALLY LISTENING.

Karen leaves with the bowl of lettuce.

Olga narrates, I WAS TOO BUSY EATING MY LETTUCE.

Karen kneels in front of Graham’s hutch and grabs a leaf of lettuce.

Karen says, I CAN'T TAKE NOEL, SO IT'S BETWEEN YOU AND OLGA, TO COME TO SCHOOL WITH ME, AND SHOW OFF YOUR TALENTS.

Olga narrates, NOW KAREN DID HAVE MY ATTENTION. IF WE WERE TALKING ABOUT TALENT, THERE WAS OBVIOUSLY ONLY ONE PET FOR THE JOB…

Mrs. Sawdust steps outside.

She calls out, READY, KAREN?

Karen says, YEP! COMING!

She grabs the bowl of lettuce and runs back toward the house.

Olga narrates, ...ME!

[Gentle music plays]

In a large field, the sun shines across lush grass and trees.

[Sheep bleating]

[Birds chirping]

In the Sawdust’s backyard, Fangio crawls through a patch of white and orange flowers. A butterfly flies away from a purple flower.

[Graham humming]

In the middle of the yard, Graham slowly makes his way over to Olga in her large pen. Noel sits nearby.

[Graham singing to himself]

Noel says, I DIDN'T WANT TO BE IN IT ANYWAY. WHO WOULD WANT TO BE ON THE SAME STAGE AS A RABBIT?

Graham says, I QUITE LIKE RABBITS.

Noel asks, AND HAVE EITHER OF YOU GOT ANY UNIQUE TALENTS?

Graham, says, UH, WELL.

Noel says, MM?

Graham says, NO, NOT REALLY.

Noel asks, OLGA?

Olga narrates, I KNEW I HAD LOTS OF TALENTS, I JUST COULDN'T THINK OF ONE RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT. SO I SAID THE FIRST THING THAT CAME INTO MY HEAD.

Out loud in the flashback, Olga says, WELL... EVERYONE KNOWS GUINEA PIGS ARE THE MOST WONDERFUL… SINGERS.

Scoffing, Noel says, GUINEA PIGS CAN'T SING!

Out loud in the flashback, Olga says, THAT'S WHERE YOU'RE VERY WRONG. GUINEA PIGS ACTUALLY HAVE THE MOST LOVELY SINGING VOICES.

[Playful music plays]

Olga narrates an animated story. In the animation, dinosaurs roam the Earth.

Olga narrates, BACK IN PRE-HISTORIC TIMES, NO ONE COULD SING!

As pre-historic animals, Noel, Graham, Fangio and Olga roam the land.

Olga narrates, YOU SEE, IT HAD NEVER BEEN THOUGHT OF. ALL ANYONE HAD DONE UNTIL THEN WAS MAKE GRUNTING AND SQUEAKING NOISES.

[Pre-historic Graham and Fangio grunting and squeaking at each other]

Olga narrates, APART FROM A FEW CATS, WHO COULD MEOW.

[Pre-historic Noel meowing]

Olga narrates, BUT NO ONE THOUGHT MUCH OF THAT SOUND.

Pre-historic Olga nibbles from a bowl.

[Munching]

Pre-historic Noel walks away.

Olga narrates, AND THEN ONE DAY A GUINEA PIG DISCOVERED SOMETHING INCREDIBLE!

[Munching]

Pre-historic Olga looks into her bowl.

Olga narrates, IF SHE SQUEAKED INTO HER FEEDING BOWL, HER VOICE BECAME LOWER!

In the live-action flashback, Olga speaks into her feeding bowl.

Her voice lower, Olga says, JUST LIKE THIS!

Grahm stands nearby.

Olga says, THERE! WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THAT?

Noel says, YES, WELL I... SUPPOSE IT WASN'T BAD.

Graham says, AMAZING.

Olga continues narrating the animated story. In the animation of the pre-historic Earth, pre-historic Olga and other guinea pigs stick their heads in their feeding bowls.

Olga narrates, SOON ALL THE GUINEA PIGS WERE DOING IT.

[Deep squeaking]

Olga narrates, THEN, THEY HAD AN IDEA. THEY DUG A HOLE IN THE GROUND, AND THEY ALL CLIMBED INSIDE.

In a hole in the ground, the guinea pigs loudly say, WHEE!

A musical note appears in a bubble above them and pulses inside the hole.

[‘Whee’ echoing]

Olga narrates, THIS TIME, THE NOISE WAS SO DEEP, AND SO LOUD, YOU COULD HEAR IT FROM MILES AROUND.

[‘Whee’ echoing]

Sound waves pulse across the land. A dinosaur with a long neck peaks above trees in a forest and looks around.

Olga narrates, AND THEN THEY HAD ANOTHER IDEA! WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY WENT HIGH UP?

Pre-historic Olga glances at a mountain in the distance.

Olga narrates, SO, THEY CLIMBED THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN, AND ONCE THEY WERE AT THE TOP, THEY ALL OPENED THEIR MOUTHS, AND GAVE A GREAT CRY!

The guinea pigs hike up the mountain with bowls of dandelions on their backs.

At the top, they shout, WHEE!

A large bubble with a music note pules.

[‘Whee’ echoing]

[Wind gusting]

[Leaves rustling]

The long-necked dinosaur looks surprised.

Olga narrates, THE SOUND WAS SO HIGH AND LOUD, IT ROLLED DOWN THE MOUNTAIN, ACROSS THE VALLEY, AND WENT ALL OVER THE WORLD!

The music note bubble tumbles down the mountain and through a valley. It rolls around the Earth.

[Rumbling]

In the live-action flashback, Olga says, AND THAT'S HOW THE WORLD FOUND OUT THAT YOU COULD PUT LOW AND HIGH NOTES TOGETHER, AND CALL IT SINGING! BECAUSE OF GUINEA PIGS. ALTHOUGH IT'S A BIG SECRET. IN FACT, NO ONE KNOWS APART FROM ME.

Noel says, WHAT ABSOLUTE NONSENSE!

Olga grunts, HM!

Graham asks, CAN YOU SING FOR US NOW, OLGA?

Olga says, WELL... NO. NOT AT THE MOMENT. I HAVEN'T DONE MY VOCAL EXERCISES.

[Noel laughing derisively]

Noel says, YOU HAD BETTER GET PRACTICING.

He flicks his tail.

Olga quietly sings, LA-LA-LA, DO-DO-DO. AH-HA-HA-HA.

[Gentle music plays]

Later in the backyard, Karen returns home. She walks through the gate with her backpack. She throws the gate closed behind her.

[Gate clicking shut]

Karen plucks a handful of grass out of a garden. She turns and waves to her dad. Mr. Sawdust kneels beside a box garden with a gardening trowel.

Karen says, HI, DAD!

Mr. Sawdust smiles and waves. Karen skips over to Olga’s hutch and opens the door.

Karen says, THERE YOU GO, OLGA.

She puts the grass in Olga’s food bowl. Mr. Sawdust stands and dusts off his shirt. Karen closes Olga’s door.

Mr. Sawdust asks, SO, WHAT'S THE LATEST ON THE BIG SHOW AND TELL? ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE GRAHAM, OR OLGA TO SCHOOL TOMORROW?

Karen says, I'M STILL NOT SURE, IT HAS TO BE THE ONE THAT I CAN TALK ABOUT MOST.

Mr. Sawdust nods and says, HM.

Karen asks, WHO'S THE MOST INTERESTING?

Olga narrates, WELL, REALLY! DID KAREN EVEN HAVE TO ASK?

Mr. Sawdust says, WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT AT DINNER. COME ON!

He drops his trowel beside the box garden.

Mr. Sawdust says, SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE TONIGHT.

Karen says, YUM!

She runs toward the house. Olga nibbles on her grass. Noel walks across the yard.

Noel asks, HOW'S THE SINGING COMING ALONG?

In the flashback, Olga says, UH, AH, I'M ACTUALLY DIGESTING SOME GRASS AT PRESENT. I'LL BE REHEARSING A BIT LATER.

Graham slowly climbs a small hill.

Noel turns and asks, HOW ABOUT YOU, GRAHAM?

Graham says, WELL, I MADE UP A POEM.

Noel says, LET'S HEAR IT.

Graham says, A BUMBLE BEE IS HARD TO SEE, YOU CAN'T REALLY TELL WHEN YOU LIVE IN A SHELL.

Noel says, YOU'VE GOT SOME COMPETITION, OLGA.

Olga narrates, I WASN'T TOO WORRIED. I HAD LOTS OF TIME TO PREPARE. OR SO I THOUGHT.

Against the fence, Fangio weaves around flower pots.

[Fangio singing to himself]

On a new day, Karen holds a pet carrier up to Olga’s hutch.

Karen says, COME ON, OLGA. YOU'RE COMING WITH ME TO THE SHOW AND TELL.

She carries Olga in the carrier.

Olga narrates, KAREN HAD CHOSEN ME!

[Olga squeaking]

Karen carries Olga past Graham.

Graham says, GOOD LUCK, OLGA!

[Gentle music plays]

In a classroom, students wear yellow polo shirts.

Olga narrates, AND BEFORE I KNEW IT, IT WAS TIME FOR THE SHOW!

A student with glasses writes in a notebook.

[Indistinct chatter]

At a table at the front of the room, a blond-haired girl stands in front of a pet carrier. A brown rabbit lies on grass and hay inside the carrier. The teacher stands beside her wearing a green and white spotted dress.

The blond-haired girl says, AND THAT'S WHY MR. NIBBLES IS FUR-TASTIC.

Her classmates say, AW!

The teacher says, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. WELL DONE, SOPHIE, AND MR. NIBBLES!

She closes the door on the pet carrier. The teacher wears her long, dark brown hair tied back.

The teacher says, GIVE THEM A BIG CLAP.

[Clapping]

Off to the side, Karen and a boy with short blond hair sit with pet carriers on a table behind them.

Olga narrates, I WAS VERY PLEASED TO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN, BUT I WAS A BIT WORRIED. I HADN'T PRACTICED ANYTHING AT ALL!

The teacher carries the blond-haired boy’s pet carrier to the table at the front of the room.

The teacher says, AND NOW, IT'S TIME TO HEAR FROM LEE, AND BUGSY.

She reaches for the pet carrier holding Bugsy, a brown and white rabbit.

Karen says, YOU'RE GOING TO BE THE BEST, OLGA!

She looks at Olga through the door of her pet carrier.

Olga narrates, I WAS BEGINNING TO WISH GRAHAM HAD BEEN CHOSEN INSTEAD!

At the front of the room, the teacher holds Bugsy.

Lee, the blond-haired boy, says, BUGSY IS THREE YEARS OLD. I GOT HIM WHEN I WAS SIX. MY FAVOURITE THING ABOUT HIM IS THE WAY HE CRINKLES HIS NOSE.

The class says, AW!

Olga anxiously narrates, OH DEAR, OH DEAR. I WAS GOING TO LET KAREN DOWN!

Karen smiles.

Olga narrates, BEFORE I KNEW IT...

The teacher says, PLEASE GIVE LEE AND BUGSY A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE.

[Clapping]

The teacher returns Bugsy to his carrier and Lee closes the door.

The teacher says, THANK YOU LEE, WELL DONE. AND FINALLY, WE HAVE KAREN, AND HER GUINEA PIG, OLGA DA POLGA.

[Clapping]

Olga narrates, IT WAS OUR TURN!

[Clapping]

Karen leaves her seat. She holds Olga’s pet carrier.

She says, HERE WE GO, OLGA.

[Olga squeaking]

Olga narrates, THERE WAS NOTHING FOR IT!

[Nervous squeaking]

Olga narrates, I HAD TO LET KAREN, KNOW! I COULDN'T DO IT!

[Olga squealing]

Karen carries Olga’s carrier to the front of the room.

Her classmates say, AW!

Someone says, SO CUTE!

Olga narrates, AND THAT'S WHEN I REALIZED I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING.

[Excited indistinct chatter]

The teacher helps Karen place Olga’s carrier on the front table.

Olga narrates, JUST BE MYSELF! EVERYONE LOVES GUINEA PIGS!

[Olga squeaking]

[Clapping]

In a field, sheep graze.

[Bleating]

[Gentle music plays]

Karen says, AND THAT'S WHY OLGA IS MY BEST FRIEND.

In the classroom, Karen holds Olga.

The class says, AW!

A student says, THAT IS AMAZING!

Karen says, WE'RE A TEAM. ISN'T THAT RIGHT, OLGA?

Olga narrates, WE CERTAINLY WERE. THE BEST TEAM!

[Olga squeaking]

[Clapping]

Karen smiles. At home, a yellow rosette hangs outside Olga’s hutch.

Olga narrates, AFTER THE SHOW, WE ALL GOT A LOVELY ROSETTE, EVEN BUGSY AND MR. NIBBLES!

Inside the hutch, Olga nibbles on a piece of grass.

Olga narrates, AND I EVEN TOLD THE TRUTH TO GRAHAM AND NOEL ABOUT THE SINGING STORY.

Karen pets Noel.

Olga narrates, AFTER ALL, WHEN YOU'RE A GUINEA PIG, YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRY TOO HARD. IT'S MUCH, MUCH BETTER TO JUST BE YOURSELF!
