Teacher Aldo stands in the lab with a container full of water and rubber toys on it.

Teacher Aldo is in his thirties, with short curly black hair and a shadow of a goatee. He wears glasses and a blue Homework Zone T-shirt.

He says HI, I'M TEACHER
ALDO AND I'M HERE TODAY TO TALK
TO YOU ABOUT WHY THINGS FLOAT.
HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT WHEN
YOU PUT THINGS IN WATER, A
LITTLE BIT OF WATER IS PUSHED
OFF FROM ITS SIDE?
WELL THAT'S CALLED DISPLACEMENT
AND THE WATER YOU'RE DISPLACING
IS ACTUALLY THE WEIGHT OF THE
OBJECT INSIDE THE POOL OF WATER.
SO IF WE TAKE THIS BOAT FOR
EXAMPLE AND PUT IT IN THE WATER,
YOU NOTICE THAT PART OF THE
WATER'S BEEN DISPLACED.
THE
DISPLACEMENT OF WATER IS
ACTUALLY WHAT'S KEEPING THE BOAT
AFLOAT, THAT'S WHAT WE CALL
BUOYANCY.
I'M TEACHER ALDO AND
NOW YOU KNOW.
