A girl with blonde hair wears a red shirt.
The girl says, HI, I’M MAGGIE
IF I COULD BE ANYTHING,
I WOULD BE A TEACHER!
Opening sequence. In a montage, different kids experience an imaginative world drawn around them. A girl wears an apron and chef’s hat as she snorkels past mermaids and fish holding a tray of cupcakes. A boy wears a suit while he stands at a podium drawn in front of him. Another looks at a map with a magnifying glass. A girl wears a police uniform while another does a cartwheel. A boy wears safety goggles and a boy wears a tie.
[Upbeat music]
A voice sings, IMAGINE, IMAGINE, IMAGINE.
A female voice sings, IMAGINE POWERFUL.
IMAGINE COMICAL.
IMAGINE MAGICAL.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?
[Upbeat music]
Starring Maggie. Maggie stands at an easel. She draws a picture of a rabbit on a white board.
In a voice over, Maggie says, HI, I’M MAGGIE.
IF I COULD BE ANYTHING,
I WOULD BE A TEACHER.
Maggie steps away from her drawing. Maggie jumps. She wears a dress with white polka dots and a blue sweater.
Maggie says, A TEACHER HELPS
PEOPLE LEARN.
Maggie stands behind a large desk at the front of a classroom.
[Bell ringing]
Maggie says, I WOULD HAVE A BIG DESK
AT THE FRONT OF THE CLASS.
A group of students sit at desks.
Maggie says, MY CLASS WOULD HAVE
LOTS OF KIDS IN IT.
The kids all smile.
Maggie says, I WOULD TEACH MATH.
She points to a blackboard. The blackboard has three drawings of bunnies.
Maggie says, WE WOULD COUNT BUNNIES.
ONE BUNNY PLUS TWO BUNNIES
EQUALS THREE BUNNIES!
Three chalk bunnies leap off the blackboard.
Maggie says, UH OH.
The bunnies hop around the classroom.
Maggie says, SOMETIMES THE BUNNIES RUN AWAY.
Maggie and the students chase the bunnies.
Maggie says, AND THEN MY CLASS AND I
NEED TO LOOK FOR THEM.
The students chase after the bunnies. Outside, kids play and bunnies hop around.
Maggie says, ON NICE SUNNY DAYS,
MY CLASS AND I
GO OUTSIDE FOR GYM CLASS.
Maggie blows a whistle in the school yard.
[Whistle blowing]
The bunnies hop into line formation.
Maggie says, WE’D PLAY TAG
WITH THE BUNNIES!
Maggie says, BUNNIES ARE REALLY
GOOD AT TAG…
No one can catch the bunnies.
Maggie says, BECAUSE THEY’RE SO FAST.
Maggie and her class chase the bunnies around the school yard. Maggie’s class stands outside the front of the school.
Maggie says, SOMETIMES MY CLASS AND I
WOULD GO ON A FIELD TRIP.
[Honking]
A bus arrives.
Maggie says, COME ON,
BUNNIES!
Maggie walks towards the school bus. The bunnies hop towards the bus, but stop.
Maggie says, SILLY BUNNIES!
COME HERE BUNNIES!
Maggie gestures to the bunnies and they board a yellow school bus.
Maggie says, WE’D WAVE AT
ALL THE PEOPLE.
Maggie and her students wave at pedestrians on a sidewalk as they ride the school bus. Maggie looks back at her students and the bunnies and smiles. The bus floats through outer space past a shooting star.
Maggie says, WE’D GO TO OUTER SPACE.
Maggie floats in space.
Maggie says, I’D TEACH MY CLASS
ALL ABOUT STARS AND PLANETS.
She floats weightless in space with her arms out stretched and a shooting star zooms past.
Maggie says, WE WOULD FLY RIGHT
PAST THE MOON.
Her students float through space wearing astronaut suits.
Maggie says, WHEN YOU LOOK AT
THE MOON UP CLOSE,
IT HAS LOTS OF HOLES IN IT.
THEY’RE CALLED CRATERS.
LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTY STARS!
Shooting stars fly past the Earth, moon and other planets.
Maggie says, WHAT A FUN FIELD TRIP.
I WOULD MAKE ALL
OUR TRIPS FUN.
Back at school, Maggie stands at the front of the classroom and draws a star on a blackboard.
Maggie says, I WOULD LOVE LEARNING
ABOUT NEW THINGS,
AND THEN TEACHING MY
STUDENTS ABOUT THEM.
She draws a large moon with craters, then writes math equations on the board.
Maggie says, THERE’S SO MANY EXCITING
NEW THINGS OUT THERE TO LEARN.
I LOVE BEING A TEACHER.
Maggie grins.
A female voice sings, CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING
ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE?
