Opening sequence. In a montage, different kids experience an imaginative world drawn around them. A girl wears an apron and chef’s hat as she snorkels past mermaids and fish holding a tray of cupcakes. A boy wears a suit while he stands at a podium drawn in front of him. Another looks at a map with a magnifying glass. A girl wears a police uniform while another does a cartwheel. A boy wears safety goggles and a boy wears a tie.

[Upbeat music]

A voice sings, IMAGINE, IMAGINE, IMAGINE.

A female voice sings, IMAGINE POWERFUL.
IMAGINE COMICAL.
IMAGINE MAGICAL.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?

Starring Marlee. Marlee stands at an easel. On a large piece of paper, she draws people.

In a voice over, Marlee says, HI, I’M MARLEE.
IF I COULD BE ANYTHING,
I WOULD BE A HAIR STYLIST.

Marlee’s hair is tied back. She wears a leopard print shirt. Marlee picks up a comb.

Marlee says, I WOULD STYLE,
COLOUR,
AND CUT PEOPLE’S HAIR.

She holds up a blow-dryer and grins.

Marlee says, IF I WAS A HAIR DRESSER,
I WOULD HAVE MY
VERY OWN HAIR SALON.

Inside Marlee’s hair salon, a bell rings as a customer enters her shop.

Marlee says, I WOULD HAVE LOTS
OF CUSTOMERS.

She ties a cape around a girl.

Marlee says, MY FRIEND MILLIGAN WOULD
WANT HER HAIR WASHED.

Marlee smiles. She brushes her friends hair and gives a thumbs up.

Marlee says, SHE WOULD WANT LONG EXTENSIONS
DOWN TO THE FLOOR.
FIRST I WOULD WANT TO WASH
HER HAIR WITH SHAMPOO…
THEN RINSE.

Marlee gives a thumbs up and holds her blow-dryer.

Marlee says, THEN I WOULD USE MY
BLOW-DRYER TO DRY IT.
THEN ADD IN THE
HAIR EXTENTIONS…

Milligan smiles.

Marlee says, ALL THE WAY DOWN
TO THE FLOOR.
SHE WOULD WANT PURPLE AND PINK
STREAKS IN HER HAIR, TOO.

Milligan’s hair has purple and pink streaks. Marlee wraps up Milligan’s hair.

Marlee says, THEN I WOULD
WRAP IT IN A HUGE BUN
THAT GOES ALL THE WAY
UP TO THE SKY.

Marlee pauses to think. A lightbulb goes off beside her.

Marlee says, HMM, MAYBE I’LL
GIVE HER BANGS.
I’LL GO SNIP SNIP SNIP
WITH MY PINK SCISSORS.
SNIP SNIP SNIP SNIP.

Marlee cuts Milligan’s pink and purple hair, then she shakes out a red cape.

Marlee says, I’LL ALSO CUT
MY BROTHER MAXIM’S HAIR.

She ties a cape on her brother.

Marlee says, MY BROTHER MAXIM CAN BE VERY
PICKY ABOUT HOW HAIR.

[Buzzing]

Marlee says, I WOULD SHAVE THE HAIR ON
THE SIDE OF HIS HEAD VERY SHORT.

Marlee shaves the hair on the side of Maxim’s head. Maxim smiles.

Marlee says, I WOULD MAKE
THE HAIR ON THE TOP LONGER
AND STICKING UP
IN THE MIDDLE.
I’LL USE GEL
AND THE HAIR DRYER
TO STYLE IT
INTO A MOHAWK.
I WOULD MAKE MY BROTHER MAXIM
LOOK LIKE A ROCK STAR!

He strums a guitar and Marlee dances beside him.

[Guitar solo]

Marlee says, MY FRIEND BOB THE LION
DOES NOT LIKE
GETTING HIS HAIR STYLED.
I’LL GIVE HIM A TOY
SO HE BEHAVES.

Marlee hands him a toy and gives a thumbs up.

Marlee says, PHEW!

Marlee brushes Bob’s hair.

Marlee says, BOB WOULD HAVE LOTS OF
KNOTS IN HIS HAIR,
SO I WOULD HAVE TO
BRUSH IT FOR THREE HOURS.

Marlee looks tired. She curls his hair.

Marlee says, THEN I WOULD MAKE
THE LION’S HAIR
ALL CURLY
AND BEAUTIFUL.
AND FINISH HIM OFF
WITH A MANI AND PEDI…

The lion admires himself in a mirror.

Marlee says, …AND MATCHING LIPSTICK.

She snaps Bob’s photo.

She says, AFTER I FINISH
STYLING THEIR HAIR,
I’LL TAKE PHOTOS OF
ALL MY CUSTOMERS…

[Snapping of a camera]

Marlee says, …AND HANG THEM ON
THE WALL OF MY SALON.

She hangs large portraits of all her clients on the wall.

Marlee says, THAT WAY,
EVERYBODY COULD SEE
HOW GOOD I AM
AT HAIR STYLING.

Marlee gives a thumbs up. In the middle of her salon, she does a spin.

Marlee says, I’LL LOVE GETTING
MY OWN HAIR DONE!

Marlee grins.

A female voice sings, CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING
ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE?
CAN YOU IMAGINE THERE’S
A WORLD FULL OF FANTASY?
AND IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT
