[LOON CALLS]

The Canadian flag flies over Bebe’s beaver dam. Bebe walks inside. She breathes heavily. Mo, the moose reads a book at a table. Bebe lies face down on the table. Mo turns to her.

Bebe says, “HUH, HUH, HUH.........
HUUUUH!”

Mo says, “HA. HEY BEBE,
HUH, BUSY DAY?
HUH!”

Bebe says, “YOU CAN SAY
THAT AGAIN!
YEAH.
I GATHERED WOOD,
FIXED THE BEAVER DAM,
PICKED BLUEBERRIES…”

Mo says, “WHOA, SOUNDS-”

Bebe says, “...MADE JAM, PLANTED
A VEGETABLE GARDEN,
I EVEN HELPED
ROBBY THE RACCOON
WITH HIS HOMEWORK.
OH-HO!”
Mo says, “YOU
SOUND JUST LIKE
A PIONEER!”

Bebe says, “A PIA-WHAT?!”

Mo says, “HUH-HUH-HUH,
YOU KNOW, PIONEERS-
EARLY SETTLERS
TO CANADA.
LONG, LONG AGO, PEOPLE
FROM OTHER COUNTRIES
CAME TO CANADA
TO SETTLE DOWN
AND MAKE THEIR
NEW HOMES.
THEY HAD TO DO A
LOT FOR THEMSELVES,
LIKE UH, BUILDING
THEIR OWN HOUSES.”

Bebe looks excited.

Bebe says, AH, HEY,
JUST LIKE ME!”

Mo says, “AND THEY DIDN'T
HAVE STUFF LIKE CARS
OR HOT AND COLD
WATER IN THEIR
HOUSES! OR EVEN THE-”

[ELECTRICAL BUZZ]

The light goes out in the dam. Bebe and Mo look around in the dark.

Bebe says, “LIGHT BULBS?”

Mo says, “NOPE, NO LIGHT
BULBS EITHER.”

A female singer sings, “NOVA SCOTIA,
P.E.I., NEW BRUNSWICK,
NEWFOUNDLAND AND
LABRADOR, QUEBEC,
ONTARIO, MANITOBA
AND THERE ARE MORE”

Bebe and Mo appear in photographs of famous landmarks across Canada.

The female singer sings, “B.C, ALBERTA, SASKATCHEWAN,
NORTHWEST TERRITORIES,
NUNAVUT, YUKON.”

A caption reads, “Bebe, Mo, and Gavin”

Bebe slides down a snowy mountain on her tail, Mo smells wildflowers in a valley, Gavin, a Canada Goose wears a helmet as he flies over a river.

The female singer sings, “BEBE, MO, AND GAVIN
WE'RE THE CANADA CREW
LET'S GO EXPLORE
CANADA TOO!
CANADA CREW!”

Bebe, Mo, and Gavin stand behind a caption that reads, “The Canada Crew. Created by Ben Mazzotta”

Sunlight glows through the leaves of a dense, tall tree. A caption reads, “Early Settlers. Written by Ben Mazzotta.”

Bebe and Mo walk down a shady gravel path.

Bebe says, “HA HA! OH WHERE
ARE YOU TAKING ME, MO?”

Mo says, “WELL SEEING AS WE'VE
BEEN TALKING ALL
ABOUT EARLY
SETTLERS TODAY-”

Bebe says, “UH-HUH!”

Mo says, “I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE
SUPER COOL TO VISIT
PIONEER VILLAGE!”

Log cabins and a stable line the path.

Bebe says, “HUH! WHAAAAT!
BUT, BUT... HOW
IS THIS POSSIBLE?
OH, WAIT A MINUTE..…”

Mo says, “HUH?”

Bebe says, “HAVE WE GONE
BACK IN TIME?”

Mo looks confused.

A woman says, “SORT OF!”

Bebe and Mo look around.

Bebe says, “WHO SAID THAT?”

A dark-haired woman appears, dressed in pioneer-period clothing.

The dark-haired woman says, “I DID!”

Mo says, “OHHH,
IT'S BLYTH!
SHE TEACHES
VISITORS ALL ABOUT
EARLY SETTLERS.”

Bebe says, “OH! OH, HI BLYTH!”

Blythe says, “HI BEBE! (LAUGHS)”

Bebe says, “I JUST LOVE
YOUR OUTFIT!”

Blythe says, “THANK YOU!
THIS IS WHAT
WOMEN WORE A
LONG TIME AGO.”

Ontario is highlighted in yellow on a red map of Canada.

Blythe says, “AND THIS IS
BLACK CREEK PIONEER VILLAGE,
IN THE CITY OF TORONTO IN
THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO.
THIS VILLAGE WAS
CREATED TO LOOK AND
FEEL LIKE ONE A
HUNDRED YEARS AGO.”

Bebe says, “AHHHH, A
HUNDRED YEARS!
THAT'S REALLY OLD!”

Mo says, “HA! YA,
YEAH, IT IS!
UM, WERE THERE KIDS
BACK THEN BLYTH?”

Blythe says, “WELL SURE THERE
WERE! (LAUGHS). DO YOU WANT TO SEE HOW KIDS
LIVED A LONG TIME AGO?”

Mo says, “AHHHH! OH YA,”

Bebe says, “FOR SURE!
OHHHHH YES
PLEASE!”

Mo says, “COME ON,
LET'S GO!
OH GOODIE!”

Tall trees surround a two-story log cabin home.

Blythe says: “THIS IS WHAT AN EARLY
SETTLERS HOME LOOKED LIKE.”

Mo says, “HO-HO!
LOOK AT THAT THE
SIZE OF THAT FIREPLACE!

Bebe says, “THAT BED
LOOKS SUPER COZY!”

Blythe says, “AND KIDS HAD A LOT OF CHORES
TO DO TOO.”

Mo says, “WHAT KIND
OF CHORES?”

Blythe gestures to a pile of logs.

Blythe says, “LIKE COLLECTING FIRE
WOOD FOR COOKING AND
THE HEATING OF
THE HOUSE.”

Bebe lifts chopped wood.

Bebe says, “AHHHHH! (HUFFING
& PUFFING).”

Bebe adds more wood to a pile in Mo’s hands.

Mo says: UHHHH, BEBE, WAIT,
THINK THAT'S TOO MUCH WOOD!
OH NO, NO,
NO, NO, NO, NO.....
OH BEBE, OH
BEBE, OH, OH!
UHHHHH......
AHHHHH!!!”

Mo falls over.

Blythe says, “THERE WERE NO
TAPS WITH HOT
OR COLD WATER
SO KIDS HAD TO GO TO
THE RIVER OR A WELL
EACH AND EVERY DAY
JUST TO GET WATER.”

Mo says, “WHOA! WELL --”

Bebe says, “HEY, HEY, MO,
BLYTH, LOOK!
.... I GOT WATER
I GOT WAAAAAA!”

Bebe carries a wooden bucket.

Bebe says, “WHOAAAAAA!!!
AHHHHH!
HUH-HUH-HOAH!

Bebe falls. Blythe and Mo look shocked as they watch her. Bebe stands up with the bucket over her head.

Mo says, “BEBE…”

Bebe says, “OH! SURE IS
DARK IN HERE. MO?”

Blythe stands in front of a classroom. Mo and Bebe sit in chairs.

Blythe says, “NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK
THIS ROOM WAS USED FOR?”

Mo and Bebe raise their hands eagerly.

Bebe says, “AH! OH, I
KNOW, I KNOW!”

Mo says, “OH ME ME ME ME
ME ME! PICK ME!
PICK ME! ME! PICK
ME! COME ON!”

Blythe turns to Bebe.

Blythe says, “YES BEBE.”

Bebe says, “HA. OK, SO, AH,
THERE'S A BIG
CHALKBOARD
AT THE FRONT
OF THE ROOM,
AND THERE'S LOTS
OF DESKS ALL
AROUND THE ROOM
WHICH MEANS…”

Mo says, “THIS IS WHERE KIDS
WENT TO SCHOOL!”

Blythe says, “CORRECT!
HAHA!”

Bebe says, “OH, MO! I WANTED TO
GIVE THE ANSWER!”

Mo says, “HUH-HUH, I COULDN'T'
HELP MYSELF. SORRY.

Mo pulls a small blackboard from under a desk. Bebe and Mo look at it.

Mo says, “HUH. HMMM. HEY
BLYTH, WHAT'S
THIS FOR?”

Blyth says, “THAT'S CALLED A SLATE.
IT'S A LITTLE
CHALKBOARD THAT
KIDS USED TO WRITE ON.

A, B, and C are written in lowercase on a wood-framed slate.

Mo says, “WHERE DO
YOU PLUG IT IN?”

Blythe says, “THERE WERE NO PLUGS
OR BATTERIES BACK THEN, MO.”

[GOOSE HONKING]

Bebe and Mo turn toward one another. They look excited. Mo looks atthe slate with a confused expression.

Mo says, “WHAT? NO!
OH.”

(LAUGHS)

Bebe says, “HE-HE-HE-HE!”

Mo rests a tablet on the desk. He turns towards Blythe.

Mo says, “UH, IT'S OUR FRIEND
GAVIN THE GOOSE!”

Bebe says, “HUH-HUH!”

Mo answers a video call from Gavin, the goose. Gavin drives a chuckwagon.

Gavin says, “OH HEY, YOU TWO! HUH!
WHAT YOU UP TO TODAY?”

Bebe says, “WE’RE AT PIONEER
VILLAGE TODAY
CHECKING OUT
HOW EARLY SETTLERS
LIVED. HAHA!”

Gavin says, “OH, FUNNY YOU
SHOULD MENTION THAT,
BECAUSE TODAY I'M TRAVELLING
LIKE EARLY SETTLERS WOULD I...
HUH-HUH! HA!”

Gavin’s horse-drawn wagon hits a bump.

Gavin says, “A COVERED WAGON!
HAHA!”

Mo says, “OOOOOOOO! THAT
LOOKS LIKE FUN!”

Gavin says, “SORRY BIT OF
A BUMP THERE --”

A caption reads, “Fun Fact”.

Gavin says, “A COVERED WAGON
WAS MADE OF WOOD...
...HAD FOUR WHEELS,
A CANVAS COVER.
AND WAS PULLED
BY BIG, STRONG HORSES!”

Mo says, “SOOOO, IT WAS KIND
OF LIKE AN EARLY
SETTLERS CAR
BEFORE THEY HAD CARS.
HEHEHE!”

Gavin says, “OH, CORRECT! HAHA!
WELL TIME FOR
ME TO HEAD ON OUT!
LET'S SEE HOW FAST
THIS BABY CAN GO!
GIDDYUP HORSEY!
WOOOHOOHOO!

Gavin holds tightly on reigns as the horses gallop. The wagon bounces up and down.

Gavin says, “OH, OW, OW, OW, OW!
TALK TO YOU TWO SOON!
OH!
OW! WAAAAHAHAHAHA!
WHOA.”

The wagon speeds out of the view of the tablet.

Mo says, “BYE GAVIN!
HUH-HUH!”

Bebe says, “UH, BLYTH?”

Blythe says, “YES BEBE?”

Bebe says, “KIDS FROM LONG AGO
HAD A LOT OF
CHORES TO DO,
BUT DID THEY
EVER DO
ANYTHING... FUN?”

Blythe says, “OH HO,
YOU BETCHA!”

Bebe and Mo gasp. A table is filled with pioneer toys.

Bebe and Mo say, “TOYS!
HAHA!
HMMM!”

Bebe says, “THIS IS MORE
LIKE IT!
ROUND AND ROUND
AND ROUND WE GO!”

Mo says, “EARLY SETTLERS
LIVED LONG AGO!”

Bebe says, “LOTS OF CHORES
AND STUFF TO DO!”

Mo says, “WORKING HARD
AND PLAYING TOO!”

Bebe says, “YEEE HAW!!!”

Bebe kisses a teddy bear.

Bebe says, “MWAH!”

A woman sings, “NOVA SCOTIA,
P.E.I., NEW BRUNSWICK,
NEWFOUNDLAND AND
LABRADOR, QUEBEC,
ONTARIO, MANITOBA
AND THERE ARE MORE.
B.C, ALBERTA, SASKATCHEWAN,
NORTHWEST TERRITORIES,
NUNAVUT, YUKON.
TEN PROVINCES,
THREE TERRITORIES
EASTERN MARITIMES
WESTERN PRAIRIES
PROVINCES, TEN
TERRITORIES, THREE”

Mo, Bebe, and Gavin stand in front of a colourful map of Canada. They raise their arms and smile.
