by “Space shuttles are made up of three
main components…”

appears. A green arrow points to a yellow “Fuel
tank” attached to the space shuttle.

Another arrow points at two long white tubes on
both sides of the space shuttle. Text beside the

Text reads, “First make the fuel tank”
An empty roll of paper towel is laid at the edge
of the cardboard. Two marks are made on
the cardboard where the paper towel roll ends.
Text reads, “Space Shuttle Model”
The cardboard is folded at the two marks.
The cardboard is cut along the fold. The paper
towel roll is rolled up in the cardboard. Sticky tape
is used to hold it in place.
Text reads, “Make the Orbiter”
A smaller cardboard roll is lined up at the edge
of the piece of paper. Two marks are made on
the paper where the cardboard roll ends.
The paper is folded at the two marks.
The paper is cut along the fold. The cardboard
roll is rolled up in the cardboard. Sticky tape
is used to hold it in place.
Text reads, “Make the rocket boosters”
The remaining white paper it rolled tightly into 2
matching tubes. The paper tubes are taped.
The scissors are used to cut tube and make them
both equal lengths. The rocket boosters are set
aside with the fuel tank.
The body of the orbiter is laid on the table.
Text reads, “Make wings for the orbiter”
Marks are made on a paper at three quarters
Of the length of the orbiter body.
A fold is made in the paper, at the marks. The
Scissors are used to cut along the folded line.
Angled lines are cut from the last cut to the end
of the paper. The wide side of the wings are
folded.
A black marker is used to design the wings.
The folded part of the wings are taped to opposite
sides of the orbiter’s round body.
A smaller wing is cut out of the remaining
paper. That wing is taped in between the two wings,
and facing the same direction.
The black marker is used to draw windows on the
body of the orbiter.
The orbiter is taped to the brown fuel tank.
Text reads, “Assemble the shuttle”
The orbiter and fuel tank are stood up. The orbiter
faces up. The rocket boosters are taped
onto the sides of the fuel tank.
