Red-haired Angelie rides her space racer board like a surfboard. With her space grappler attached to a comet, she rides the comet’s waves and glides through space like a water skier. Ella, Slippy and Madhu watch from a nearby asteroid.
Ella says, WHOA!
NTERSTELLAR!
ANGELIE IS THE COOLEST
PERSON EVER!
Slippy says, SHE'S SURFING A COMET!
A COMET!
Madhu waves and says, HI ANGELIE!
Angelie glances toward Ella, Slippy and Madhu and detaches her grappler from the comet. Angelie glides away from the comet toward Ella, Slippy and Madhu.
Ella says, SHE'S COMING.
OKAY.
JUST BE COOL.
Ella puts her hand on her hip. Slippy floats and leans back with his arms crossed. Madhu wraps their arms around themselves, turns dark blue, and shivers.
[Teeth chattering]
Angelie joins Ella, Slippy and Madhu.
Angelie says, SUP.
Ella says, ANGELIE!
HEY!
THOSE MOVIES WERE AWESOME.
YOU ARE THE BEST!
Slippy and Madhu look at Ella. Madhu changes back to their normal green colour.
Ella says, I MEAN… HEY, WANT TO HANG OUT?
Angelie says, NAH, I HAVE HOMEWORK TO DO.
Ella says, OH.
Angelie says, BUT AFTER THAT I'M
GOING TO SURF SOME MORE.
YOU GUYS CAN COME
AND...
Ella asks, COMET SURF WITH YOU?
Angelie says, ...WATCH.
WAIT.
CAN YOU COMET SURF?
Ella says, OF COURSE!
Slippy and Madhu share a worried look.
Angelie says, COOL.
LATER.
She flies away on her board. Ella smiles. Later, among asteroids, Ella rides her moon scooter between Slippy and Madhu.
Madhu says, I DIDN'T KNOW YOU
COULD COMET SURF, ELLA.
CAN YOU TEACH ME TOO?
Ella says, SURE.
I'VE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE.
BUT HOW HARD CAN IT BE?
Slippy frowns and zooms ahead of Ella.
Slippy stops and says, WAIT.
YOU'VE NEVER EVEN TRIED IT?
[Whooshing]
Ella and Slippy turn and a comet rushes past them.
Ella and Slippy yelp, WHOA!
Ella says, I CAN TRY RIGHT NOW!
She grabs onto the comet with her space grappler.
Ella says, SEE?
IT'S EASY.
She smiles confidently and is pulled off her moon scooter board as the comet continues through space.
Ella yells, WOAH!
She lets go of her space grappler and floats upside down. Ella flips upright and flies back to Slippy and Madhu using her boot thrusters. Slippy catches Ella’s scooter board.
Ella says, PHEW.
OKAY.
I ALMOST GOT IT.
I JUST
HAVE TO TRY ONE MORE TIME.
Ella looks thoughtful.
[Upbeat music plays]
Ella launches her space grappler toward the comet and confidently jumps on her board. She falls off her board and drops the grappler.
Ella yelps, WAH!
She tries again. The grappler connects to the comet and is pulled out of Ella’s grasp. Ella falls off her board.
Ella yells, WHOA!
Slippy and Madhu cringe. Ella tries again and falls.
Ella yelps, WAH!
Slippy pinches his nose. Ella falls off the board with the grappler.
Ella shouts, WHOA!
She falls away from Slippy and Madhu.
Ella says, WOAH!
Madhu stretches their arms and pulls Ella back.
Slippy says, MAYBE YOU SHOULD JUST TELL ANGELIE
YOU CAN'T DO IT.
SHE WON'T MIND.
Slippy catches Ella’s board.
Ella says, BUT THEN SHE'LL KNOW I FIBBED.
I NEED TO LEARN COMET SURFING
BEFORE SHE COMES BACK.
Ella looks worried.
She says, IT'S JUST WAY HARDER THAN IT
LOOKS.
Madhu says, WAY HARDER?
BUT IT ALREADY
LOOKS SO DIFFICULT.
THAT COMET IS SO
FAST AND SO BIG.
Ella says, I WISH THERE WAS A SMALLER
VERSION I COULD PRACTICE ON.
Ella spots an asteroid slowly floating by.
She says, LIKE THE ASTEROID OVER THERE.
HMM.
BUT IT ISN'T MOVING
LIKE A COMET.
Slippy says, NOT YET.
He grabs onto the asteroid with his space grappler. At the clubhouse asteroid, Ella and Madhu watch Slippy attach an engine to the asteroid.
Slippy says, WRENCH.
Glitch hands Slippy a wrench.
Slippy says, SCREWDRIVER.
Glitch hands Slippy a screwdriver.
Slippy says, ROBOTIC ARM.
Glitch raises his arm.
[Glitch whirring]
Slippy says, DONE!
He high-fives Glitch.
Slippy says, GLITCH AND I PRESENT
THE ASTEROID ENGINE!
Ella gasps WOAH!
Madhu says, OOH!
Slippy jumps off the asteroid with Glitch.
Slippy says, IT’S ROCKET
WE CAN ATTACH TO THE ASTEROID
AND YOU CAN CONTROL IT
WITH THE REMOTE.
NOW YOU CAN PRACTICE
COMET SURFING!
Madhu says, OOH!
YOU'VE TURNED AN ASTEROID
INTO A COMET.
THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!
Maggie appears and says, THE ROCKET MIGHT
MOVE THE ASTEROID, BUT IT HAS
NOT TURNED IT INTO A COMET.
THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.
ASTEROIDS ARE MADE OF ROCK
AND METALS,
BUT COMETS ARE FROZEN
BALLS OF ICE, GAS AND DUST.
Maggie shows a comet next to an asteroid.
Maggie continues, AND AS COMETS
GET CLOSE TO THE SUN,
THE ICE WARMS AND TURNS INTO
A GAS WHICH CREATES THE TAIL,
BUT CAN ALSO CAUSE THE COMET
TO BREAK APART.
Ella says, SO THE GOOD THING MY COMET
IS ACTUALLY AN ASTEROID.
IT WON'T BREAK
APART!
LET'S TEST IT OUT.
Ella looks determined.
[Upbeat music plays]
Madhu, Slippy and Glitch float in a clearing.
Ella cheers, WHOO-HOO!
THIS IS INTERSTELLAR!
Slippy’s rocket asteroid pulls Ella through space on her moonboard. With her space grappler connected to the asteroid, Ella surfs at a calmer speed.
[Rocket whirring]
Ella says, LOOK!
She pushes a joystick on the rocket remote and increases the power. The asteroid moves faster.
Madhu says, YOU'RE GREAT AT THIS, ELLA!
Ella says, THANKS MADHU!
IT'S WAY EASIER THAN SURFING
A REAL COMET.
Ella increases the speed.
[Whirring]
The asteroid slows down beside Slippy and Madhu.
Ella says, WAIT A SECOND, SLIPPY
CAN YOU MAKE THIS THING
LOOK LIKE A COMET?
Slippy asks, WHY?
THIS WAS JUST SO YOU COULD
PRACTICE FOR THE REAL THING.
Ella says, BECAUSE THE REAL THING IS HARD.
AND WITH THIS,
I CAN MAKE ANGELIE BELIEVE
I REALLY CAN COMET SURF!
Slippy says, BUT YOU'RE JUST PRETENDING.
Ella says, PLEASE SLIP.
IF ANGELIE FINDS OUT
I CAN'T SURF A COMET.
IT'LL BE SO EMBARRASSING.
Ella looks at Slippy, also known as Slip, with a hopeful expression. Ella holds her hands together and her lip trembles.
[Slippy sighing dramatically]
Slippy says, OKAY.
Later, on three, large asteroids, Ella, Slippy and Madhu relax. Angelie flies over on her board.
Angelie says, SUP.
Ella and Slippy say, SUP.
Madhu says, HI ANGELIE!
WELCOME BACK!
Madhu hugs Angelie and Angelie smiles.
Ella says, LOOK A COMET PASSING ALREADY?
She points toward Slippy’s rocket-powered asteroid in the distance. Ella controls the rocket with the remote behind her back. A trail of white gas follows the asteroid. Angelie and Madhu turn toward the asteroid, and Slippy frowns at Ella.
Ella says, I GUESS WE'RE LUCKY.
She nudges Slippy with her elbow.
Slippy says, YEAH.
SO LUCKY.
Ella turns the asteroid using the remote, revealing multiple devices on the back, releasing a white gas.
[Rocket whirring]
Angelie frowns. With her arms crossed, she watches Ella connect her space grappler to the asteroid. Ella jumps on her moonboard and surfs behind the asteroid.
[Upbeat music plays]
Ella turns the asteroid.
She says, SURFING
A COMET IS INTERSTELLAR,
RIGHT, ANGELIE?
Ella zooms past Angelie, Slippy and Madhu.
Angelie says, SURFING A COMET IS
BUT THAT'S OBVIOUSLY
NOT A COMET.
Ella says, WHAT?
NO, THIS IS TOTALLY COMET.
Angelie says, IF IT WAS
A REAL COMET,
THE TAIL WOULD POINT AWAY
FROM THE SUN, NOT TOWARDS IT.
Ella says, UM, THAT'S BECAUSE, UM…
Angelie says, I CAN ALSO SEE THE
ROCKET, ELLA.
Slippy slaps himself between his eyes.
[Rocket rattling]
Ella says, UH, HOW DID THAT THING GET THERE?
SO WEIRD.
[Ella laughing nervously]
[Ella coughing into her hand]
Ella says, OKAY, FINE.
IT'S NOT REAL, BUT
IT'S STILL PRETTY COOL, RIGHT?
LOOK!
She presses the remote button and the rocket blasts Ella and the asteroid forward.
[Whirring]
Slippy says, ELLA, WAIT!
Ella zooms toward the path of a comet.
Madhu warns, LOOK OUT!
YOU'RE GOING TO CRASH!
[Rocket whirring]
Ella frowns and glances toward the comet.
[Intense music plays]
Ella lets go of her grappler and swerves upward. The comet crashes into the asteroid and splits it into pieces. A chunk of the comet breaks off and continues through space in the opposite direction. Ella dodges the pieces of the asteroid and Slippy’s rocket. Angelie. Slippy and Madhu watch the piece of the comet fly over them.
[Comet whooshing]
Angelie, Slippy and Madhu fly over to Ella.
Slippy asks, ARE YOU OKAY, ELLA?
Ella says, YEAH.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE COMET?
Maggie appears and says, ALERT!
A LARGE PIECE
JUST BROKE OFF THE COMET
AND IS FLYING STRAIGHT AT HOME
STATION.
Maggie shows a piece of the comet breaking off and flying toward Ella’s house, also known as the Home Station. Ella’s eyes widen.
[Dramatic music plays]
Ella races through space with Angelie, Slippy and Madhu.
Ella says, WE'VE GOT TO HURRY!
MAGGIE,
HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?
Maggie says, CALCULATING.
She spins.
Maggie says, THE COLLISION WILL HAPPEN
IN 15 MINUTES AND 3 SECONDS.
YOU SHOULD ACTIVATE –
Madhu asks, IS THERE ANYONE AT THE STATION?
Ella says, NO,
MY FAMILY'S OUT.
BUT HOW WILL WE STOP THAT THING
FROM CRASHING?
Ella glances at Madhu.
Ella says, I KNOW!
SLIPPY HAS HEATERS.
WE CAN USE THOSE
TO MELT THE PIECE OF COMET!
On the back of Slippy’s space racer, Glitch pulls four balls, heaters, out of his storage compartment.
Maggie says, ELLA,
YOU SHOULD ALSO ACTIVATE THE –
Ella says, HOME STATION HAS
A PROTECTIVE SHIELD!
WE SHOULD ACTIVATE IT!
Maggie smiles.
Slippy says, I'LL DO IT!
He races ahead of the others. Ella appears in a Com Bubble in front of him.
Ella says, THERE'S A PASSWORD.
LOOK THROUGH THE TELESCOPE.
Slippy nods. Ella, Angelie, Madhu and Glitch each hold a heater. With a look of determination, they race toward the comet speeding toward Ella’s house.
[Dramatic music continues]
Ella, Angelie, Madhu and Glitch split up around the rogue piece of comet and attach the heaters.
[Heaters beeping]
Thick steam billows from the heaters as the piece of comet melts. At Ella’s house, Slippy runs inside and scratches his chin.
Slippy says, SHIELD.
HOW DO I PUT UP THE SHIELD?
An automated voice says, HELLO, SLIPPY.
Slippy looks around the house.
The automated voice asks, ARE YOU SURE
YOU WANT TO ACTIVATE THE SHIELD?
Slippy says, UH, WHO'S THERE?
The automated voice says, I AM HOME STATION.
A SMART HOUSE.
Slippy says, OH, HI, HOME STATION.
I GUESS I'M
A SMART BOY IN A SMART HOUSE.
[Slippy laughing nervously]
Slippy says, OH, YES.
I'D LIKE TO ACTIVATE THE SHIELD,
PLEASE.
The automated voice, the Home Station, says, NO PROBLEM.
PASSWORD?
Slippy frowns.
He says, YEP.
GIVE ME ONE SECOND.
ELLA TOLD ME WHERE TO FIND IT.
Slippy runs over to a telescope in the living room. He looks through the telescope at the approaching piece of comet.
[Intense music plays]
Outside, the piece of comet speeds toward the house.
Angelie says, UM, IS THAT PIECE…
Madhu says, YES,
STILL HEADED FOR THE STATION.
[Slippy groaning]
Inside, Slippy asks, HOME STATION IS THE PASSWORD
COMET?
The Home Station says, COMET IS INCORRECT.
Glitch brings Ella another heater.
Ella says, GLITCH,
THAT'S GREAT!
WE'LL TRY AGAIN.
She takes the heater from Glitch.
Angelie says, THERE'S NO WAY
WE'LL GET THERE IN TIME.
LET'S JUST WAIT FOR SLIPPY
TO ACTIVATE THE SHIELD.
Ella says, WHAT IF HE'S TOO LATE?
COME ON.
She speeds toward the piece of comet.
Angelie says, ELLA WAIT,
I'LL GIVE YOU A NUDGE.
YOU'LL GO FASTER THAT WAY.
Ella says, YOU MEAN ME?
I THOUGHT I HAD TO STAY AWAY
FROM COMETS.
Angelie says, COME ON, NOW KEEP STEADY.
She pushes Ella’s moon scooter toward the piece of comet with her board.
Ella says, THANKS, ANGELIE!
YOU'RE SO COOL!
Ella drops the heater onto the piece of comet. The piece of comet continues to melt as it gets closer to the house.
Maggie warns, 30 SECONDS TILL IMPACT.
Ella says, IT'S NOT BREAKING UP!
In the house, Slippy asks, IS THE PASSWORD STARS
OR JUPITER?
He looks up from the telescope and Ella appears in a Com Bubble.
Ella says, SLIPPY!
HURRY.
ACTIVATE THE SHIELD.
Slippy says, I CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE PASSWORD!
I TRIED TO LOOK THROUGH
THE TELESCOPE LIKE YOU TOLD ME,
BUT I DON'T SEE
A PASSWORD!
The Home Station says, LOOK THROUGH
THE TELESCOPE IS CORRECT.
ACTIVATING SHIELD.
Slippy looks annoyed. A large bubble, a protective shield, appears around the house.
[Suspenseful music plays]
Slippy looks out the window at the piece of comet slowly melting and breaking apart.
[Comet whooshing]
Slippy ducks under the window and turns his back to the comet. A tiny piece of comet bounces off the Home Station shield. Slippy turns. He looks out the window and smiles.
[Gentle music plays]
Angelie, Madhu and Ella gather outside.
Madhu cheers, YAY!
YOUR HOME WASN'T DESTROYED!
Madhu hugs Ella and pulls her off her moon scooter.
Ella says, SO CLEARLY
I CAN'T SURF A COMET.
She looks embarrassed.
Ella says, I SHOULD HAVE JUST TOLD YOU.
Angelie says, YOU KNOW, IF YOU HAD TOLD ME.
I WOULD HAVE SHOWED YOU
HOW TO DO IT.
Ella says, REALLY?
OKAY.
I CAN'T SURF A COMET AT ALL.
WILL YOU TEACH ME?
Angelie says, SURE.
She smiles.
[Upbeat music plays]
Slippy, Glitch and Madhu watch Angelie and Ella surf together with a meteor towing them.
Angelie says, NOW, BEND YOUR KNEES A LITTLE.
Ella says, I'M DOING IT!
I KNEW THIS WAS EASY!
She stumbles and falls off her board.
Ella yells, WHOA!
Madhu stretches their arms up high and catches Ella. Madhu pulls Ella down and Angelie glides over on her board.
Ella says, I MIGHT
NEED A BIT MORE PRACTICE.
She smiles sheepishly.
[Angelie laughing]
[Everyone laughing]

[Soft music plays]
