Short fluffy yellow hair grows between his long ears. Numbers appear on polka dots. Polkaroo waves. A title reads, TVOKids presents “Polkaroo Counts!”.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
[Upbeat music plays]
A blond-haired boy, Hudson, sits at a round blue table in a playroom.
A chalkboard is divided into squares. Numbers from 2 to 15 appear in the squares. The square in front of number 2 is empty.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
Hudson says, HI POLKAROO!
A female narrator says, HEY,
POLKAROO AND HUDSON!
LET'S GET READY TO COUNT.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
POLKAROO! POLKAROOOO!!
Hudson says, OH, NO.
The narrator says, UH-OH. IT LOOKS LIKE
THE NUMBER ONE IS MISSING.
SHOULD WE GO FIND IT?
Hudson says, YES.
The narrator says, WAIT! WHERE
DID POLKAROO GO, HUDSON?
Hudson points and says, HE'S OVER THERE.
The narrator asks, OVER WHERE?
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
The narrator says, OH HEY! THAT'S
POLKAROO COUNTING TREES.
[Energetic music plays]
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.
The narrator says, THAT'S SURE
A LOT OF TREES, POLKAROO.
BUT YOU ONLY NEED TO
FIND ONE.
The narrator continues, AND IT MAY BE CLOSER
THAN YOU THINK.
Polkaroo leans against a tree.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
[Harp music plays]
A purple number one appears in a yellow circle over the tree.
The narrator says, THERE YOU
GO! YOU FOUND ONE TREE!
Polkaroo says, POLKAROOO!
Polkaroo hugs the tree.
Hudson holds up one finger.
The narrator says, HEY THERE, HUDSON.
CAN YOU SHOW ME ONE FINGER?
[Harp music plays]
A purple number one in a yellow circle appears beside Hudson.
Hudson says, ONE FINGER.
The narrator says, GREAT JOB.

Polkaroo skips and sings, POLKAROO...
The narrator says, WHERE TO NOW,

[Boing]
Polkaroo stops and backs up.
Polkaroo walks backwards.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.
The narrator asks, RIGHT HERE?
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
Polkaroo points at a green picnic table. A purple number one in a yellow circle appears over the table.
The narrator says, OOOH, I GET
IT. ONE PICNIC TABLE.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.
POLKAROO!
Four triangles lie on the picnic table.
The narrator says, FOUR TRIANGLES?
[A bell rings]
The narrator continues, BUT WE NEED ONE THING, NOT FOUR.
Polkaroo moves the four triangles to form a square.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO?
The narrator says, ONE SQUARE!
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
The narrator says, SO SMART.
Hudson looks at two blocks. One has a red number two, the other has a red number three.
The narrator says, HMM... IF ONLY WE
HAD A NUMBER ONE.
Hudson pushes a block number one beside block number two.
[Yay]
The narrator says, LOOK WHAT YOU FOUND!
Hudson says, ONE.
The narrator says, HUDSON, YOU DID IT!
Hudson counts, ONE, TWO, THREE.
[Harp music plays]
Hudson walks in his walker. Polkaroo runs into the playroom.
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!
Hudson says, POLKAROO!
Hudson hugs Polkaroo.
The narrator says, HEY, HUDSON. FIND
OUT IF POLKAROO BROUGHT BACK
THE NUMBER ONE.
Hudson says, POLKAROO, HAVE YOU BROUGHT
BACK THE NUMBER ONE YET?
[Drum roll]
Polkaroo says, POLKAROO, POLKAROO, POLKAROO!
A red number one appears in the blank square in front of number two on the chalkboard.
[Yay]
The narrator says, ONE! GREAT
JOB, POLKAROO AND HUDSON.
NOW WE CAN START
COUNTING.
Polkaroo dances in a circle. Hudson follows him.
