[Theme music]

As theme music plays, Polkaroo, a tall green creature with floppy ears wearing a yellow shirt with coloured polka dots, spins around, surrounded by coloured circles. Objects turn into shapes and numbers. Polkaroo waves.

Title: Polkaroo Counts!

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!

[Child laughing]

A narrator says, ARE YOU AND POLKAROO
GOING BOWLING?

Angela, a girl with hair in bunches and wearing a pink quilted jacket, stands on a grassy field and says,
YEAH, AND WE'RE GONNA'
KNOCK DOWN ALL THE PINS!

[Angela giggles]

The narrator says, KNOCK DOWN ALL TEN
PINS?! WAY TO GO!

Angela sets up ten bowling pins on grass.

Angela calls, POLKAROO! POLKAROO!
COME AND PLAY!

The narrator says, WHERE'S POLKAROO?

[Chimes ring]

Polkaroo appears on the field and says, POLKAROO!

The narrator says, AH, POLKAROO'S HERE!
TRY TO KNOCK DOWN THE
PINS, ANGELA.

Text reads, Ten.

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO! POLKAROO!
POLKAROO!
[Drum roll]

Angela aims a ball at the bowling pins and rolls it. The ball knocks down some pins.

The narrator says, AMAZING, ANGELA!

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO!

The narrator says, HOW MANY OF THOSE TEN
PINS DID YOU KNOCK DOWN?

[Chimes ring]

Polkaroo picks up the knocked-down pins.

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.

Text reads, One.

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.

Text reads, Two.

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO.

Text reads, Three.

Text reads, Four.

[Chimes ring]

Angela says, YAY I KNOCKED DOWN
FOUR!

The narrator says, YOU STARTED WITH TEN
PINS AND KNOCKED DOWN FOUR,
SO ONE, TWO, THREE,
FOUR, FIVE, SIX ARE STANDING UP.
TEN TAKE AWAY FOUR
EQUALS SIX!

[Chimes ring]

Text reads, Ten minus four equals six.

Angela jumps and says, YEAH THERE ARE SIX LEFT
OVER! YOU TRY, POLKAROO!

The narrator says, YOU'VE GOT SIX PINS
LEFT, POLKAROO.
SEE HOW MANY YOU CAN
KNOCK DOWN!

Polkaroo says, POLK, POLK, POLK.
POLKAROO, POLKAROO...

Polkaroo rolls the ball at the pins.

[Drum roll]

Some pins fall over.

The narrator says, PRETTY GOOD,
POLKAROO!
LET'S COUNT HOW MANY
POLKAROO KNOCKED DOWN.

Angela counts, ONE, TWO…

Text reads, One, two.

[Record scratch]

Angela asks, WHERE'S THE THIRD ONE?!

The narrator says, UH OH!

Angela calls to Polkaroo, WHERE'S THE THIRD ONE,
POLKAROO?!

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO?
POLKAROOOO... POLKAROO!

A bowling pin falls from the sky and lands next to Polkaroo.

[Boing]

Text reads, Three.

Angela puts her hand on her head and says, OH POLKAROO!

The narrator says, SO, POLKAROO STARTED
WITH SIX PINS AND KNOCKED DOWN
THREE, WHICH LEAVES
THREE PINS STANDING.

Angela stands and aims the ball at the pins.

The narrator says, OKAY ANGELA, THE
FINAL THREE. IT'S UP TO YOU!

Angela rolls the ball at the pins. The ball knocks them all over.

[Bowling pins crash]

[Cheering]

Polkaroo raises his arms and cheers, POLKAROO!

The narrator says, WOW YOU DID IT,
ANGELA! BRAVO!

Polkaroo hugs Angela.

Polkaroo says, POLKAROO! POLKAROO,
POLKAROO, POLKAROO...

Polkaroo and Angela dance.

[Harp music]

Polka dots float by.

The narrator says, POLKAROO AND ANGELA
STARTED WITH TEN PINS
AND KNOCKED DOWN
FOUR. THEN THEY KNOCKED DOWN
THREE MORE PINS AND
THEN THEY KNOCKED
DOWN THREE MORE!
LEAVING NO PINS STANDING!
