Birds gather in a forest.

Odo the owl says,
HERE I COME!

(Bush rustles)

Odo, a small brown owl with white markings, runs past a blue bird, chickens, a peacock, and yellow birds.

Odo sings, ODO

Birds sing,
ODO, ODO, ODO

(Cluck)

Odo jumps into a muddy puddle with two toucans.

(Splash)

Odo leaps on a fallen tree trunk with Doodle, a small blue bird. Flamingos pop their heads out of the trunk.

Birds sing,
ODO, ODO, ODO

Odo jumps on a tree stump. The birds surround him.

The title reads, “Odo”.

Odo winks.

Doodle casts a tall shadow in the forest at night. He sits with other birds around a campfire.

Text reads, “Spoooooky!”

Doodle says,
AND THE SPOOKY CROW WENT
INTO THE FOREST, NEVER TO BE
SEEN AGAIN, EVER!
THEY SAY THAT AT NIGHT, YOU
MIGHT EVEN HEAR HER SQUAWKING.

(Clucking in terror)

Three chickens hold each other close. They look terrified.

Doodle asks,
YOU MIGHT HEAR HER SQUAWKING?

Odo is perched on a branch high above the campfire.

Odo says,
OH!
SQUAW--
WHOA!

Odo falls off the branch. He lands in a bush.

(Grunting, hooting)

(Campers laughing)

A toucan says, GOOD STORY.

Another adds,
YEAH, BROUGHT THE HOUSE
DOWN.

(All laughing)

The camp leader, an eagle with a green cap, says,
ALRIGHT, CAMPERS, LET'S GIVE
DOODLE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR
HER VERY SCARY STORY.

(Campers applauding)

Three yellow birds sing, GO, DOODLE

Odo looks upset.

He says,
SORRY, DOODLE, THAT DIDN'T
GO ACCORDING TO PLAN.

Doodle replies,
IT'S OKAY, ODO.
EVERYONE LIKED THE STORY.
I MEAN, THEY LAUGHED.

The camp leader says,
THAT'S ENOUGH SCARY STORIES
FOR ONE EVENING, CAMPERS.
TIME TO GO HOME.

Later, chickens, geese, and flamingos laugh at Odo and Doodle.

A goose says,
ODO, THAT WAS HILARIOUS.
WE THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE
SCARY, BUT YOU CAUGHT US BY
SURPRISE.

Another goose adds, IT'S SO FUNNY.

Odo replies,
ACTUALLY, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT.
DOODLE AND I MEANT TO SCARE YOU,
BUT I GOT MUDDLED.

(Campers laughing)

Odo continues,
BUT I'M NOT JOKING!
I'M TRYING TO SCARE YOU.

The goose says, HE DID IT AGAIN!

(Campers laughing)

Odo rolls his eyes.

He says,
I DON'T GET IT.
WHAT'S SO FUNNY?

The goose replies,
YOU'RE A LOT OF THINGS, ODO,
BUT YOU'RE JUST TOO CUTE AND
FRIENDLY TO EVER BE SCARY.

Doodle interrupts, ODO CAN BE SCARY.

Odo adds,
YEAH, AND IF YOU'RE ALL OKAY
WITH BEING SCARED MORE THAN
YOU'VE EVER BEEN SCARED, I'LL
SHOW YOU HOW SCARY I CAN BE!

Doodle says, HE'LL SHOW YOU.

A flamingo replies, UM, OKAY.

The goose adds,
YES, GIVE IT A TRY, ODO.

Odo looks angry.

He says,
I WILL, JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE.

(Campers laughing)

Odo and Doodle hurry away from the other birds. Doodle turns back to them.

She says,
YOU'RE GOING TO BE SO SCARED.

(Campers laughing)

The sun rises over the camp. Odo and his mom walk through the forest.

Odo’s mom says,
HAVE A GREAT DAY AT CAMP.

She rubs the top of Odo’s head.

Odo replies,
I WILL, MUM.
OOH!

Doodle approaches Odo and his mom. Odo hides behind a bush.

Doodle says, OH, HELLO, ODO'S MUM.

Odo’s mom replies,
GOOD MORNING, DOODLE.

Doodle asks,
UM, HAVE YOU SEEN ODO?

Odo sneaks up behind Doodle.

Odo’s mom says,
HE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU,
DOODLE.

Doodle turns to Odo.

Odo says,
MUM, YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO
TELL!

Odo’s mom replies, WHOOPS, SORRY.

Doodle asks,
WERE YOU PRACTICING BEING
SCARY?

Odo answers,
YES, AND I'VE GOT A GREAT IDEA.

Doodle looks excited.

Odo and Doodle stand in front of a muddy puddle.

Odo says,
HM.
MM-HM.

He turns to Doodle. They nod to one another.

(Grunting)

Doodle covers Odo in mud and sticks branches and leaves to his body.

Odo asks, SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Doodle replies,
YOU LOOK LIKE A MUD MONSTER.

(Roaring)

Doodle approaches the geese, the flamingos, and the chicken in a field.

(Chattering)

Doodle shouts,
SOMEONE, HELP!
I'M BEING CHASED BY A MONSTER!
HELP, HELP!

A flamingo asks,
EVERYTHING OKAY, DOODLE?

Doodle replies,
UM, MONSTER?
MONSTER!
WHERE DID YOU GO?

Doodle leads a goose into the forest.

The goose shouts,
EVERYONE, COME SEE WHAT I FOUND!

The birds surround Odo, the mud monster.

(Roaring)

(Campers laughing)

Doodle approaches Odo.

She says, THE MUD GOT HARD.

Doodle cracks the mud on Odo’s body.

(Roaring)

Odo falls on his back.

(Laughing)

Odo looks angry.

He says,
LAUGH IF YOU WANT, BUT I'M GOING
TO SCARE YOU SO MUCH YOU'LL JUMP
OUT OF YOUR FEATHERS.
BUT FIRST-- CAN YOU GET ME OUT?

The birds walk away from Odo and Doodle.

A brown mouse picks up an acorn in the forest.

(Gasping)

It says, YUM.

The mouse drops the acorn and leaps into a bush as Odo and Doodle walk past.

Doodle asks, SO, WHAT NOW?

Odo replies,
WE NEED A NEW PLAN.
MAYBE WE...

The leaves of the bush rustle.

(Shushing)

Odo says, LISTEN.

Odo looks in the bush.

(Gasping)

The mouse leaps out of the bush and runs into a hole.

Odo says, EEK!

Odo knocks on the hole.

(Sniffing)

The mouse peeks out of the hole.

(Gasping)

The mouse sees Odo and hurries back inside.

Odo says,
HEY, I SCARED SOMEBODY, BUT HOW?
I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING.
EXCUSE ME, COULD YOU COME OUT
PLEASE?
I WANT TO ASK YOU SOMETHING.

The mouse replies,
LEAVE ME ALONE.

Doodle says,
PLEASE COME OUT.

Odo adds,
I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU'RE
SO SCARED.

The mouse says,
BECAUSE ONE OF YOU IS AN OWL.

Odo asks,
WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING AN
OWL?

The mouse answers,
OWLS EAT MICE, SILLY.
SO, YOU CAN GO AWAY.
I'M NEVER COMING OUT.

Odo says, EAT MICE?

(Groaning)

Odo looks disgusted.

Doodle says,
ODO'S MY BEST FRIEND, AND HE
WOULDN'T HURT A FLY.

The mouse peeks out of the hole again.

He asks,
YOU'RE NOT GOING TO EAT ME
EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE AN OWL?

Odo answers,
NO!
SO, YOU'RE ONLY SCARED OF ME
BECAUSE I'M AN OWL, AND NOT
BECAUSE I LOOK OR ACT SCARY?

The mouse replies,
WELL, YOU'RE PROBABLY THE
LEAST SCARY OWL I'VE SEEN.
IN FACT, YOU COULD ALMOST SAY
YOU LOOK VERY FRIENDLY, BUT YOU
ARE STILL AN OWL, AND OWLS ARE
ALWAYS SCARY TO MICE.

Odo says,
BUT I DON'T LIKE BEING SCARY
JUST BECAUSE OF WHAT I AM.

Doodle asks,
ODO, REMEMBER WHEN WE FIRST
MET REGGIE?

Odo says,
YES, REGGIE!
REGGIE'S A FOX.
HE SCARED YOU WHEN WE FIRST MET,
BECAUSE WE WERE TOLD THAT FOXES
EAT BIRDS.

Doodle adds,
BUT REGGIE DOESN'T, HE'S A
VEGETARIAN, AND NOW HE'S OUR
FRIEND.

Odo turns to the mouse.

He says,
MAYBE YOU CAN BE OUR FRIEND, TOO.

The mouse replies, OKAY.

Odo and the mouse shake.

Odo says,
I'M ODO, AND THIS IS DOODLE.
WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

The mouse answers, MICHAEL.

Odo says,
BEING SCARY ISN'T AS MUCH
FUN AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE.

Michael, the mouse, replies,
ACTUALLY, FUN SCARY IS OKAY.
SCARY SCARY, NOT SO MUCH.
FUN SCARY IS LIKE WHEN ME AND MY
BROTHERS AND SISTERS TRY TO
SCARE EACH OTHER FOR FUN.
IT'S OKAY BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS
IT'S A GAME.
I LOVE GAMES LIKE THAT, AND I'M
THE BEST.

Odo asks,
MICHAEL, CAN YOU HELP US
WITH SOMETHING?

Michael replies, WELL, MAYBE.

Later, the moon glows over the forest. The birds sit around the campfire.

A toucan says,
AND THAT IS THE STORY OF THE
GHOST COW THAT SAID, "MOOOOO!"

Another toucan adds, MOO!

The camp leader replies,
THANK YOU, TOUCANS, FOR THAT
VERY, EH, INTERESTING STORY.

(All applauding)

The camp leader continues,
AND NOW, CAMPERS, IT'S TIME TO--

Odo interrupts,
EVERYONE, DOODLE AND I HAVE
SEEN A REAL MONSTER, AND IT'S
COMING THIS WAY!

A goose replies,
YOU CAN'T FOOL US, ODO.
WE TOLD YOU, YOU'RE JUST NOT
SCARY.
SO, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST--

(Roaring)

A large shadow is cast over the birds.

(Gasping)

A chicken says,
LOOK, IT'S TRUE!
A MONSTER!

The camp leader replies, A MONSTER?

Three yellow birds sing, TERRIFYING

The shadow grows.

(Roaring)

(Campers Screaming)

The birds look scared. The camp leader turns to Odo and Doodle.

(Giggling)

Odo and Doodle look at one another.

Odo says,
IT'S ALRIGHT, EVERYBODY,
DON'T WORRY.
WE'RE JUST HAVING FUN.
THERE IS NO MONSTER.
I WOULD LIKE YOU TO MEET OUR
NEWEST FRIEND, MICHAEL.

Michael turns off a flashlight and puts a rolled-up piece of bark to his lips.

Michael says,
HI, YOU'VE JUST BEEN PRANKED
BY ODO, DOODLE, AND MICHAEL THE
MOUSE.
WERE ANY OF YOU SCARED?

The chickens crawl out of a tree.

A chicken replies,
UH, I WASN'T SCARED AT ALL.
WELL, MAYBE JUST A LITTLE.

(All laughing)
