Odo winks.
[Chimes]
[Music playing]
An episode title reads: Jobs Day
Odo and his parents walk to camp. His dad carries a leaf over his head and his mum fans herself with a smaller leaf.
Mum asks, ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO FOREST CAMP TODAY, ODO?
Odo says, YES, MUM! THE SUN'S SHINING AND IT'S JOBS DAY!
Dad says, MAYBE YOU COULD FIND A JOB THAT WOULD HELP COOL AN OWL DOWN ON A HOT DAY.
Odo says, WELL, DAD, YOU KNOW I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN.
Odo flies up and fans his father with his wings.
[Odo's parents laugh]
Camp Leader, an eagle wearing a hat, stands outside facing the campers.
Camp Leader says, GOOD MORNING, CAMPERS. AND WELCOME TO JOBS DAY. SO, WHAT DOES EVERYONE WANT TO BE WHEN THEY GROW UP?
The peacock spreads his feathers.
[All gasp]
The peacock says, I WANT TO BE A NEST DESIGNER.
Doodle says, I'D LIKE TO BE A GARDENER.
Thelma says, I WANT TO BE A DOCTOR SO I CAN HELP BIRDS WHEN THEY'RE NOT FEELING CHIRPY.
Anna, a white goose, smiles.
Anna says, WHEN I'M OLDER, I WANT TO RUN A BUSINESS, AND I WANT TO BE THE BOSS.
John-John, a small blue parrot, hops forward.
John-John says, ME TOO! BE THE BOSS! BE THE BOSS!
Odo says, ME THREE! I'D BE A GREAT BOSS.
Anna asks, YOU? A BOSS? REALLY?
Odo says, YES.
John-John says, YOU HAVE TO BE A BORN LEADER. BORN LEADER, SQUAWK! AND HAVE STRENGTH TO DO ALL THE HARD WORK.
Odo says, I HAVE ALL THOSE THINGS.
Anna says, IF YOU'RE LUCKY, ONE DAY YOU CAN COME AND WORK FOR ME.
Odo says, IF YOU'RE LUCKY, YOU CAN COME AND WORK FOR ME. I'D RUN A BETTER BUSINESS THAN YOU.
Anna says, I GUESS WE'LL NEVER KNOW.
Camp Leader says, ACTUALLY, WE CAN KNOW. AS PART OF JOBS DAY, LET'S HAVE A LITTLE COMPETITION BETWEEN ANNA, JOHN-JOHN AND ODO. TODAY, WHY DON'T YOU EACH SET UP YOUR VERY OWN BUSINESS?
Camp Leader passes out acorns to the campers.
Camp Leader says, EVERY BIRD IN CAMP WILL GET SOME ACORNS THAT THEY CAN SPEND AS THEY PLEASE. THE BUSINESS WITH THE MOST ACORNS AT THE END OF THE DAY WINS.
John-John asks, WHAT DO WE WIN?
Camp Leader says, A COOKIE FROM MY COOKIE JAR.
[All gasp]
Anna says, MAY THE BEST BIRD WIN.
Odo says, DON'T WORRY, I WILL.
[Music playing]
Odo paces back and forth while Doodle sits on a tree stump.
Odo says, I'VE GOT TO COME UP WITH AN IDEA FOR THE BEST BUSINESS EVER TO WIN THAT COOKIE.
Doodle says, MAYBE WE COULD GO INTO BUSINESS TOGETHER AS GARDENERS? I'VE ALREADY GOT SOME LEMON TREES GROWING IN THE BIG GLADE.
Odo says, THANKS, DOODLE, BUT CAMP LEADER SAID IT HAS TO BE AN IDEA I COME UP WITH.
Doodle says, SO HAVE YOU GOT ANY?
Odo says, SO MANY.
Buzz, a hummingbird, clings to Anna’s back as she runs.
[Buzz giggling]
Buzz says, THIS IS SO FUN!
Anna calls, PIGGYBACK RIDES, ONE ACORN A GO.
John-John calls, BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED BIRD BOXES. BIRD BOXES. FOR THE BIRD THAT WANTS A LITTLE MORE SPACE, SQUAWK!
Doodle says, YOU NEED TO DECIDE ON A BUSINESS, ODO, OR YOU'LL GET LEFT BEHIND.
Odo says, I KNOW. SO LITTLE TIME. AND SO MANY IDEAS!
Odo wears flight goggles.
Odo says, HELLO, AND WELCOME TO ODO'S AIRLINES. WE FLY TO ALL SORTS OF DESTINATIONS: THE POND, THE CAMPFIRE, THE GIDDY TREE...
Birds walk away from Odo.
Doodle says, MOST BIRDS CAN ALREADY FLY, ODO.
Odo says, GOOD POINT. BUT DON'T WORRY, I HAVE AN EVEN BETTER IDEA!
Odo stands on a stage in a clearing.
Odo calls, ROLL UP, ROLL UP, AND HEAR THE GREATEST MUSIC YOU'VE EVER HEARD IN YOUR LIFE.
Odo blows into an instrument shaped like a saxophone with two trumpet bells.
[Playing high-pitched discordant tune]
[Birds groan]
Chickens cover their heads with their wings.
[Squawking]
[Doodle groans]
The chickens run.
The toucans wear earmuffs.
Bud says, COME ON, ODO, FASTER! CHOP-CHOP!
Odo says, CHOP-CHOP? DOODLE! I'VE GOT A BETTER IDEA!
Louie asks, WAS IT SOMETHING WE SAID?
Odo holds green safety scissors.
Odo calls, CHOP, CHOP! WELCOME TO ODO'S HAIRDRESSERS! I'LL GIVE YOU A HAIRSTYLE EVERYONE WILL LOVE. THEN THEY'LL ALL WANT TO SPEND THEIR ACORNS HERE!
Odo styles Doodle’s hair with a brush. It fluffs upwards.
[Gasps]
Birds scatter.
A flamingo walks by. She stops and stares at Doodle.
The flamingo cries, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?
Doodle says, IT WAS ODO. HE'S A HAIRDRESSER.
The flamingo says, WELL, HE ISN'T A VERY GOOD HAIRDRESSER.
Odo says, MAYBE HAIRDRESSING ISN'T MY PERFECT BUSINESS.
Doodle says, NO.
Odo asks, THEN WHAT IS? I HAVEN'T GOT A SINGLE ACORN ALL DAY.
Doodle says, OH, WELL, THE LEAST I CAN DO IS PAY FOR… THIS.
Doodle drop an acorn into an empty jar.
Odo sits against a stump and fans himself with a leaf. Doodle pats the fluffy feathers on her head.
Odo asks, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?
Doodle says, IF YOU'RE GOING TO WIN THE CONTEST NOW, YOU'LL NEED THE BEST IDEA EVER.
[Sighs]
[Music playing]
The peacock puts an acorn in Anna’s nearly half full jar.
Odo cries, I KNOW IT'S IN HERE SOMEWHERE. BUT IT'S HARD TO CONCENTRATE WHEN IT'S SO HOT. LET'S GET A DRINK.
Doodle says, WE COULD MAKE A DRINK WITH THE LEMONS FROM THE TREES I PLANTED.
Odo says, WHEN DOODLE GIVES YOU LEMONS, MAKE LEMONADE. I'VE GOT AN OLD FAMILY RECIPE THAT I COULD USE. JUST WHAT I NEED TO RECHARGE MY BRAIN.
[Music playing]
Odo sets a pitcher on the ground and puts two glasses on the tree stump.
Odo says, REFRESHMENT TIME.
Bud asks, IS THAT LEMONADE YOU'VE GOT THERE, ODO?
Odo says, YES. IT'S A FAMILY RECIPE. WOULD YOU LIKE A GLASS TO SAY SORRY FOR ENDING MY SHOW SO SUDDENLY?
Bud says, TO SAY SORRY?
Louie says, THE FACT IT ENDED WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT IT.
[Both laughing]
Anna gives the peacock a piggyback.
The peacock cries, WHEE!
[Panting]
Anna looks exhausted.
Anna asks, ODO, CAN I HAVE A GLASS OF THAT LEMONADE, PLEASE?
Anna drains a glass.
[Sighs]
Anna says, OH, THANK YOU. I FEEL MUCH BETTER NOW.
Anna drops an acorn in Odo’s jar. Odo looks thoughtful.
A flashback shows his father.
Dad says, A JOB THAT WOULD HELP COOL OFF AN OWL ON A HOT DAY.
Odo cries, GO GRAB SOME MORE LEMONS AND CUPS, DOODLE. WE'RE IN BUSINESS!
Odo stands on a stump next to a table set with a lemonade pitcher and glasses. Birds gather around.
Odo calls, WELCOME TO ODO'S SUNSHINE LEMONADE. MADE FROM OFFICIAL DOODLE LEMONS, FRESH FROM THE TREE. QUENCH YOUR THIRST AND TICKLE YOUR TASTE BUDS.
John-John says, THANKS, ODO! THANKS, ODO! SQUAWK!
John-John puts an acorn in the jar.
[All murmuring excitedly]
A line-up of birds waits.
[Music playing]
Three jars of acorns are on the ground.
Camp Leader says, THE ACORNS HAVE BEEN COUNTED, AND THE WINNER OF THE JOBS DAY COMPETITION IS... ODO!
[All cheer]
Doodle says, YAY, ODO!
Camp Leader gives Odo a cookie.
Odo says, YES!
Odo breaks the cookie in half.
[Grunts]
He gives half the cookie to Doodle.
Both say, CHEERS.
Odo says, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT A GLASS OF SUNSHINE LEMONADE!
John-John says, IT WAS DELICIOUS. DELICIOUS, SQUAWK!
Anna asks, ANOTHER GLASS, PLEASE?
Odo pours more lemonade.
[Birds drinking and sighing]
Odo walks outside the camp to his parents. He carries two glasses of lemonade.
Odo says, HI, MUM AND DAD.
His parents drink the lemonade.
Dad says, HEH-HEH, YUM. LOOKS LIKE YOU DID FIND A JOB THAT HELPS COOL OFF AN OWL ON A HOT DAY.
Mum asks, HOW WAS CAMP, ODO?
Odo says, IT REALLY WAS THE BUSINESS!
