Different animal friends cheer and giggle as they build and decorate a world together. They put together a title on a cloud. Giant panda Momolu adds the letter M to the title that reads, TVOKids Presents Momolu And Friends.
Birds chirp as Momolu and his animal friends Nooni the fox, Bani the rabbit, Huhu the owl, Hiko the badger and DJ Bass the Bear wave.
Together they cheer, YAY!
Momolu announces, GIVE ME ZZZZ!
(Gentle music plays)
Nooni sleeps in a hammock in her house under a starry night sky with a crescent moon. She snores softly. Birds chirp softly as they sleep on a snoring Banni in her house. Momolu snores cuddled in bed with his octopus stuffie. Elsewhere, Huhu’s eyes are heavy as she sits in bed.
(Clock ticking)
Huhu sighs, OH...
She rolls over into her bed. She mumbles with her face in the bed. She groans as she lifts herself onto the bed’s backboard and sighs. Outside during the day, a butterfly flies past. Noonie wakes up.
She cheers, WOOHOO!
She jumps out of her hammock.
She says, IT'S A NEW DAY!
The birds on Banni chirp excitedly.
Banni says, MORNING!
DID YOU ALL SLEEP WELL?
The birds fly off Banni as she gets out of bed.
Banni asks, DID YOU HAVE SWEET TWEETY
DREAMS?
At Momolu’s house, he rolls out of bed.
He says, OH!
He chuckles as he gets up from the floor and rubs his head.
He says, NO WORRIES: I'M FINE!
On her backboard, Huhu sighs. She flies off the board and groans. She flies up into her window. Outside, Hiko walks up to her house.
He says, HELLO HUHU!
GOOD MORNING!
Hiko waves. Huhu groans and looks away.
Hiko says, HUH? EXCUSE ME.
Huhu groans as she drags herself across grass covered with leaves. Banni and Momolu rake the leaves as she walks by.
Momolu says, HI, HUHU!
ANY NEW DANCE MOVES?
Huhu mumbles as she walks past Momolu.
Momolu says, HUH?
Huhu walks through Momolu’s pile of leaves.
Momolu says, HMM...
He looks thoughtful. Banni joins him.
She says, WHY IS HUHU WALKING LIKE
A ZOMBIE ?
Momolu says, I DON'T KNOW, BUT THAT'S
DEFINITELY NOT
HOW SHE USUALLY WALKS!
Banni says, HMM.
Huhu groans as she walks into Kimu’s café.
Kimu cheerfully says, GOOD MORNING!
He walks up to Huhu.
He asks, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE?
Huhu mutters quietly.
Kimu says, HMMM?
Huhu sighs.
Kimu says, HMM, I THINK WHAT YOU NEED IS
A BIT OF A BOOST.
He runs behind a counter with a blender.
He says, I'M GOING TO MAKE YOU THE MOST
ENERGIZING SMOOTHIE
IN THE WORLD!
Kimu tosses smoothie ingredients onto the counter. He dumps them into the blender and blends. He pours the mixture into a cup and smiles. Huhu looks uninterested.
Kimu says, HERE YOU GO!
THIS SHOULD PUT SOME PEP
IN YOUR STEP!
Huhu grumbles but accepts the smoothie and takes a drink.
Kimu asks, WELL?
Huhu says, I DON'T FEEL ANY DIFFERENT.
OH WAIT...
(Drumroll)
Kimu says, AH?
Huhu burps loudly.
She says, EXCUSE ME.
Kimu says, HMPH.
Momolu and Bannie stand by the door. Hiko walks in behind them and clears his throat.
He asks, DID YOU SLEEP WELL LAST NIGHT,
HUHU?
Huhu says, NO.
She shakes her head.
Momolu says, OH! THAT'S WHY YOU'RE NOT
YOURSELF.
Huhu says, I TRIED EVERYTHING:
COUNTING SHEEP,
DRINKING HOT MILK,
TAKING A WARM BATH!
Momolu glances at his friends.
Huhu adds, BUT I WAS AWAKE ALL NIGHT,
LOOKING AT THE MOON.
Momolu puts his arm around Huhu.
Banni says, POOR HUHU.
She hugs Huhu.
She asks, WHY CAN'T YOU SLEEP?
Huhu says, THAT'S THE PROBLEM.
I DON'T KNOW.
Hiko says, SOUNDS LIKE A MYSTERY
THAT NEEDS TO BE SOLVED!
He looks through his magnifying glass. He searches Huhu’s home.
He says, HMM, LET’S SEE.
Hiko mutters to himself as he searches.
He says, NO, NOTHING OVER HERE.
Hiko looks behind a picture frame.
He says, ALRIGHT WELL…
He looks under Huhu’s bed.
He says, NO.
Huhu, Momolu, Banni and Kimu wait by Huhu’s dresser as Hiko searches. Hiko looks out the window with his magnifying glass.
He says, WELL, WELL, WELL.
HMM...
Kimu says, I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SLEEP
HERE EITHER,
IT'S WAY TOO BRIGHT
WHEN THE MOON IS FULL!
Momolu says, THAT'S IT! WE JUST NEED
TO PUT UP SOME CURTAINS!
Huhu says, BUT I HAVE CURTAINS!
I BOUGHT A PAIR TO REPLACE
THE CROOKED ONES I HAD.
She flies to her window.
She says, BUT I CAN'T GET USED TO THEM.
Huhu pulls her curtains closed, putting the room into darkness.
She says, THEY'RE TOO THICK.
The others in the room say, HUH.
Huhu says, I DON'T LIKE IT
WHEN IT'S REALLY DARK.
She pulls back the curtain, brightening the room. The others groan and cover their eyes.
Huhu says, AND I DON'T LIKE IT TOO BRIGHT.
Hiko says, HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT USING
DIFFERENT CURTAINS?
Huhu sighs softly.
She says, I TRIED THESE.
She pulls beaded curtains over the window that jingle.
Huhu says, BUT THE SOUND KEPT ME AWAKE.
The curtains continue to jingle as the beads hit each other.
Huhu says, SEE?
Hiko says, UH-HUH.
The other say, MM-HMM.
Huhu says, MAYBE I SHOULD SLEEP
IN THE TREES,
WHERE THE LEAVES LET THROUGH
THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF LIGHT.
THAT'S THE BEST PLACE TO TAKE
A NAP IN THE SUMMER.
Banni says, HOW ABOUT CURTAINS MADE OF...
(Drumroll)
Banni says, …BEAUTIFUL LEAVES?!
Momolu says, BUNNY BRILLIANT!
Hiko says, GREAT IDEA!
Banni says, OKAY, LET'S GET A LOT
OF LEAVES AND MEET AT MY HOUSE!
She hops out of the room. Momolu, Kimu and Hiko follow.
(Giggling)
Huhu sighs. Outside, Momolu and Banni collect fallen leaves. A gust of wind blows them lose.
Momolu says, HUH?
Hiko looks at a leave hanging on a branch with his magnifying glass. With a gust of wind, the leaf falls off.
Hiko says, UH-HUH.
He chases the falling leaf. Elsewhere, Kimu collects leaves. He compares two leaves.
He says, OOH.
Kimu places one of the leaves in a basket and tosses the other. Banni hops as she and Momolu carry a bushel of leaves. Different leaves appear on a table. The group of friends paint patterns on the leaves with different colours.
Banni says, LEAVES ARE PRETTY.
BUT WE CAN MAKE THEM PRETTIER!
She draws on a leaf.
She says, AND NOW WE JUST HAVE
TO PUT THEM ON STRINGS!
Kimu weaves a string through holes in the leaves.
He says, UH-HUH.
Momolu holds one end of the string of leaves. Banni holds the other end.
She says, MOMOLU, WHAT'S BETTER?
She stands on Kimu, who sits on Hiko.
Banni asks, A SINGLE KNOT,
A RUNNING KNOT,
OR A DOUBLE KNOT TO HANG
THE CURTAINS?
Hiko groans.
Momolu says, HMM.
He looks at the string of leaves thoughtfully.
Hiko says, MY VOTE IS FOR SINGLE KNOTS!
Banni and Momolu say, YES!
SINGLE KNOTS!
Banni hangs the leaf curtains. The leaves hang over Huhu’s window. A gust of wind gently blows them.
Huhu says, THIS IS AMAZING!
She gasps.
She says, IT LOOKS LIKE
A MAGICAL FOREST!
Huhu yawns.
She says, IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME.
I NEED TO REST.
BUT I'LL SEE YOU LATER
AT THE CAFÉ.
Momolu says, UH-HUH!
Banni giggles. Kimu, Momolu, Banni and Nooni smile at Huhu. In her bed, Huhu’s eyes close and she softly snores. The group of friends smile, giggle and high-five. They tip-toe out of Huhu’s room as she sleeps. Nooni bumps into a table.
She says, OOPS!
Huhu remains asleep. The friends quietly leave. At Kimu’s café, Huhu bursts through the door.
She says, GOOD! YOU'RE ALL HERE!
Momolu, Banni, Nooni and Hiko sit around a table while Kimu works behind the counter.
Momolu asks, HOW DID YOU SLEEP?
Huhu says, LIKE A BABY OWL!
Banni says, YAY! AREN'T YOU COMING IN?
Huhu says, YES.
IN ONE LITTLE SECOND!
She steps back outside.
Momolu says, HMM.
I WONDER WHAT SHE'S DOING.
Hiko says, HMM?
Huhu returns, entering the café wearing a hat and carrying a baton.
She says, FRIENDS AND BEST FRIENDS!
The friends gasp.
Huhu sings, LET ME ENTERTAIN YOU
(Upbeat music place)
Huhu dances with the baton.
She sings, WHEN I GET A GOOD SLEEP
CAN'T STOP TAPPIN' MY FEET.
The friends giggle. They nod their heads to the song.
Huhu sings, NOW IT'S TIME TO DANCE
AGAIN!
YES I'VE HAD A GOOD SNOOZE
AND I'VE BEATEN THE BLUES
I WANT TO SING WITH ALL
MY FRIENDS!
She says, FOLLOW ME!
One of the friends cheers, WOOHOO!
Nooni jumps off her seat.
She says, LET'S GO EVERYONE!
A friend cheers, YEAH!
The friends giggle. Nooni dances with Huhu. Banni jumps off her chair.
She cheers, YAY!
She dances in a line with Nooni and Huhu. Momolu follows. Huhu sings a tune as they dance. The group of friends giggle as they dance through the café.
Huhu says, SO MUCH FUN!
She leads the dance out of the café.
The friends sing, WHEN I GET A GOOD SLEEP
CAN'T STOP TAPPIN' MY FEET
NOW IT'S TIME TO DANCE
AGAIN!
A black bear pops up from behind a fence as the friends dance by. He wears a bow tie and waves.
The friends sing, YES I'VE HAD A GOOD SNOOZE
AND I'VE BEATEN THE BLUES
I WANT TO SING
WITH ALL MY FRIENDS!
A rainbow forms over the friends.
