[Playful music plays]

Animals cheer, YEAH! AH-HA!

[Laughing, chirping]

Text reads, “TVOkids Presents Momolu and Friends.” Momolu; Nooni; Banni; Huhu; Hiku, a black and white badger; and DJ Bass gather under the text.

Animals cheer, YAY!

A voice says, BEST PLANTED PLANTS!

Momolu picks bamboo shoots and puts them in a pouch. He pauses and eats one.

[Rustling, crunching, upbeat music plays]

Momolu says, I LOVE BAMBOO
SHOOTS! AND THE LAST ONE! HMM?

Pikkumo, a white cloud, says, HELLO,
MOMOLU! NICE TO SEE YOU HERE!

Momolu says, HMM! HI, PIKKUMO!
WHAT IS THIS PLACE?

[Crunch]

Pikkumo says, JUST A BIG FIELD.
IT GETS LOTS OF SUNSHINE.
AND A LITTLE RAIN.

[Rain patters]

Momolu says, IT'S WONDERFUL!
WIDE AND OPEN. HUH.

I COULD PLANT CARROTS FOR
BANNI OVER HERE!

AND THIS SPOT IS PERFECT
FOR NOONI'S FAVORITE
MUSHROOMS! WITH FIG TREES
FOR HIKO, HERBS FOR KIMU,
AND AN APPLE TREE FOR HUHU!

Pikkumo says, WHAT A WONDERFUL
IDEA! I CAN WATER IT EVERY DAY!

[Rain patters]

Momolu says, IT CAN BE
A GARDEN FOR EVERYONE!
OOH! LET'S MAKE IT A GRAND
GARDEN SURPRISE! WHOA!

Momolu falls.

Pikkumo asks, MOMOLU?!
ARE YOU OKAY?!

Momolu says, I'M GOOD.
BUT MY PANDA PAWS FOUND
A PUZZLING PROBLEM.

A bear waves as Momolu pulls on a broken bird bath.

[Grunts, rustling]

Momolu says, HMM. WELL,
I'LL FIGURE OUT WHAT
TO DO WITH THIS LATER.

AFTER ALL, I HAVE A GRAND
GARDEN SURPRISE TO WORK ON!

YOU CAN KEEP A SECRET,
CAN'T YOU?

Pikkumo says, I DON'T KNOW.
I THINK I CAN!

Momolu says, GOOD! I'LL BE
RIGHT BACK WITH MY
GARDENING TOOLS!

[Rustling]

Hiku watches ants through a magnifying glass.

Hiku says, WHAT BUSY LITTLE
ANTS YOU ARE! AND STRONG!

Momolu says, HI, HIKO!

Hiku says, OH, HELLO MOMOLU!

HMM, CURIOUS. VERY CURIOUS,
INDEED. I WONDER WHERE HE'S
OFF TO IN SUCH A HURRY?

[Screeching, happy music plays, clatter]

Momolu grabs a pail, shovel, hoe and rake.

Nooni admires paintings hanging on a string. Banni stands beside her.

Nooni says, I LOVE THE COLORS
YOU CHOSE, BANNI!

Banni says, THANKS, NOONI.

Momolu says, HI NOONI! HI BANNI!

Nooni says, HI MOMOLU.

Nooni runs and stands in front of Momolu.

[Whoosh]

Nooni asks, WHY THE HURRY?

Momolu says, OH WELL, IT'S JUST
A BEAUTIFUL DAY AND I THOUGHT...
UM, I MEAN...

Pikkumo blows.

[Wind whistles]

Pikkumo says, WE HAVE TO GO.

[Whoosh]

Nooni says HUH?
WHAT'S GOING ON?

Momolu says, EVERYONE
WILL BE SO SURPRISED
WHEN THEY SEE THIS.

[Rustling, happy music plays]

Momolu digs in his garden. He water plants and sits by a patch of carrots and mushrooms.

[Water pours, crunching, sigh]

Momolu says, PHEW!

Pikkumo asks, HOW ABOUT
SOME RAIN TO COOL YOU OFF?

Momolu says, THANKS, PIKKUMO.
BUT I'M OKAY. I JUST NEED A
LITTLE NAP.

[Yawn]

Nooni and Banni follow Hiko as he follows footprints.

Nooni says, I'VE NEVER SEEN
MOMOLU RUNNING SO FAST.

WHERE COULD HE HAVE BEEN GOING?

Hiko says, WELL, WE'RE ON HIS
TRAIL NOW. WE'LL FIND HIM SOON
ENOUGH! HMM... OH! THAT LOOKS
LIKE MOMOLU'S FOOTPRINT.

THIS WAY!

[Rustling]

Pikkumo says, OH NO!
MOMOLU, ARE YOU AWAKE?

[Gentle music plays, snoring, whoosh]

Pikkumo blows on Momolu.

Momolu murmurs, SUCH A
WARM GENTLE BREEZE.

Pikkumo says, I HAVE TO KEEP
THEM OUT!

THEY'LL SEE THE SURPRISE
BEFORE IT'S READY!

HI. I DON'T THINK YOU
SHOULD COME THIS WAY.

I WAS JUST ABOUT
TO RAIN HERE.

Hiko says, BUT WE'RE
LOOKING FOR MOMO--OH!

[Laughing, rain patters]

Nooni says, WHEN YOU'RE DONE,
CAN YOU TELL US IF YOU'VE
SEEN MOMO--

Pikkumo asks, WHO? WHAT?
I CAN'T HEAR YOU. TOO WINDY!

Pikkumo blows.

[Wind whistles]

Hiko says, HMM, FIRST MOMOLU
IS RUSHING AROUND AND NOW
PIKKUMO IS ACTING DIFFERENTLY.

[Gasp]

Nooni says, HE'S OVER THERE!

[Whoosh]

Nooni, Hiko, and Banni look at sleeping Momolu.

Hiko says, GOOD JOB, NOONI!

[Gentle music plays]

Pikkumo says, PLEASE DON'T
WAKE HIM.

HE'S BEEN WORKING VERY
HARD ON YOUR SURPRISE.

WHOOPS! DID I SAY SURPRISE?

Banni asks, A SURPRISE FOR US?
WHAT IS IT?

Pikkumo says, WELL, I CAN'T HIDE
IT ANY LONGER.

WELCOME TO YOUR...
GRAND GARDEN SURPRISE!

[Nooni gasps, whooshing]

Nooni says, CARROTS!
AND MUSHROOMS!

FIG TREES AND HERBS
AND AN APPLE TREE!

Hiko exclaims, OUR FAVOURITE THINGS!

Banni says, THIS IS SO SWEET!

Nooni asks, WHY DON'T WE
SURPRISE MOMOLU BY
FINISHING THE GARDEN?

Hiko says, THAT'S A FABULOUS IDEA!

Hiko, Banni, and Nooni work in the garden as Momolu sleeps.

[Upbeat music plays, scraping]

[Momolu yawns]

Momolu sits and notices his friends.

Momolu says, OH! UM...
HELLO EVERYONE.

AWW... YOU FOUND
THE GRAND GARDEN SURPRISE?

[Upbeat music plays]

Banni says, MOMOLU, THAT
WAS SO SWEET OF YOU!

SO WE WANTED TO SURPRISE
YOU TOO!

Nooni asks, DO YOU LIKE IT
OR DO YOU LOVE IT?

Momolu says, OH. IT'S REALLY
NICE. I CAN SEE YOU'VE WORKED
REALLY HARD.

BUT, IT'S JUST THAT, I WANTED
TO GIVE ALL OF YOU A SURPRISE.
AND NOW I CAN'T.

Pikkumo says, I TRIED STOPPING
THEM. THEN I SPOILED THE
SURPRISE. SORRY.

Banni says, OH NO! WE RUINED
YOUR SURPRISE TOO.

Hiko says, WE'RE SORRY.

Hiko, Banni, and Nooni hug Momolu.

[Rustling]

Momolu says, AWW, YOU'VE
DONE A BEAUTIFUL JOB.

THERE IS ONE THING YOU
CAN HELP ME FIGURE OUT.

I FOUND THIS BEFORE.
WHAT COULD WE DO WITH IT?

[Gasp, rustling]

Momolu shows Nooni, Banni, and Hiko the broken bird bath.

Hiko says, HMM...WELL, A SINK
HOLDS WATER.

Pikkumo says, OOH! OOH!
I COULD RAIN IN IT!

Nooni says, AND WE COULD
MAKE A FOUNTAIN WITH
THE SINK AND THE WATER.

Momolu says, LET'S CLEAN
THE DIRT OFF WITH SPONGES.

Banni draws a fountain in her notebook.

[Scratching]

[Cheering, happy music plays]

Momolu and Hiko put the bird bath in the centre of the garden.

[Grunting, thud]

Banni’s sponge slips out of her paw and hits Nooni’s face.

[Boing]

Banni says, OOPS!

Pikkumo rains on Nooni.

[Giggling, rain patters]

They paint the bird bath.

[Splash, scraping]

Momolu says, AND THE
FINAL STEP!

Pikkumo rains and fills the bird bath.

Banni exclaims, THIS DAY
WAS FULL OF SURPRISES!

[Momolu’s stomach rumbles, giggling]

Momolu says, ALL THIS PLANTING
OF FRUITS AND VEGGIES HAS MADE
ME HUNGRY. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL
EVERYTHING GROWS.

[Laughing, Joyful music plays]
