Hiko says, YOU CAN DO IT, BANNI!
Banni says, I GOT IT! I GOT IT!
Huhu says, OK.
(Chuckling)
(Gasps)
A raindrop lands on Momolu’s head.
Momolu says, HUH?
Grey clouds roll across the sky.
(Thunder)
Everyone looks up.
All say, HUH?
Hiko says, HMM... IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO RAIN. WE SHOULD GO INSIDE.
Kimu says, RACE YOU THERE.
Momolu says, YEAH. ON THREE? ONE... TWO... AND...
(Thundercrack)
Momolu jumps and runs.
Momolu cries, AH!
Banni asks, WHERE DID MOMOLU GO?
The door to the house is open.
Kimu says, HMM? HE FORGOT TO SAY "THREE".
Rain falls.
Huhu says, LET'S GO!
Everyone runs into the house.
(Laughing)
(Distant thunder)
They run into a living room and shake off the rain.
Banni asks, WHERE'S MOMOLU? I THOUGHT HE RAN IN HERE.
Hiko takes out a magnifying glass and studies wet spots on the floor.
Hiko says, HMM? AH!
(Jazzy music)
Hiko follows the wet marks.
Hiko says, HMM... HMM... HMM... HMM... HMM? AH-HA!
Hiko stops in front of a wardrobe.
(Clears throat)
Hiko knocks on the wardrobe.
Momolu asks, WHO IS IT?
Hiko opens the door. Momolu sits under a pile of hats.
Hiko says, OH!
Banni asks, WHAT WERE YOU DOING IN THERE?
Momolu wears a yellow hat.
Momolu says, OH... OH, YEAH. I WAS JUST UH, LOOKING FOR A HAT FOR THE RAIN!
(Thunder)
Momolu runs.
Momolu cries, AH!
Kimu asks, WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MOMOLU?
Momolu huddles under a table.
(Whimpers)
Banni says, SOMETHING'S WRONG, ISN'T IT?
Momolu says, NO. I'M ALL GOOD.
(Thunder)
Momolu jumps.
Momolu cries, AH!
He jumps up, knocking the table over, and runs out of the room.
Banni says, I THINK I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG.
(Whimpers)
Momolu hides behind beaded curtains.
Banni asks, IS IT THE THUNDER?
Momolu says, YES.
Banni says, WHEN I'M SCARED, I LIKE TO HUG MY STUFFIE.
Momolu says, BUT MY TUMBLES IS UPSTAIRS, HAVING A NAP? I DON'T WANT TO WAKE HIM!
Huhu says, OOH! I HAVE A LITTLE TRICK THAT HELPS ME!
Momolu asks, YOU KNOW MAGIC?
Huhu says, WELL, NOT EXACTLY. FOLLOW ME.
(Bright music)
Huhu flies to the table.
Huhu says, IT'S SOMETHING WE DO IN THE THEATRE. WHEN I'M NERVOUS BEFORE A BIG PERFORMANCE, I DO SOME SLOW BREATHING. NOW, CLOSE YOUR EYES...
Hiko says, HMM?
Momolu and Banni look at each other and shrug.
Banni says, HUH?
Everyone closes their eyes.
Huhu says, NOW BREATHE IN... AND OOH...
(Peaceful music)
Huhu says, BREATHE IN AND OOH... BREATHE IN AND OOH... LAST ONE. BREATHE IN AND...
Huhu flaps her wings and flies off the table. Everyone floats up with her.
Huhu singing, OOH!
They all drop down.
(Gasping, chuckling)
Huhu says, OOPS!
(Thunder)
Momolu shudders.
(Whimpers)
Hiko says, MAYBE WE SHOULD TRY SOMETHING ELSE.
Kimu says, I HAVE AN IDEA! WAIT HERE!
(Bright music)
Kimu hurries away and walks back, carrying a cup and straw. The cup is fill with purple liquid.
Momolu asks, ARE YOU THIRSTY?
Kimu says, NO. WHEN I NEED TO CALM DOWN, I USUALLY TRY DRINKING JUICE THROUGH A STRAW. SIPPING IT SLOWLY HELPS ME A LOT! HERE.
Momolu says, HUH, I GUESS IT'S WORTH A TRY.
Momolu drinks.
(Straw slurping)
(Burps)
Momolu says, I THINK IT'S WORKING!
All say, YAY!
(Roaring thunder, whimpers)
Momolu sips, looking anxious.
(More thunder)
Momolu jumps and knocks over the empty cup.
Momolu says, HUH? NO MORE JUICE FOR ME!
Hiko says, UNTIL THE STORM IS OVER, MAYBE YOU CAN KEEP YOUR MIND OFF THE THUNDER...
Hiko picks up a pink ball.
Hiko continues, …WITH A GAME!
Momolu says, OOH!
(Playful music)
Hiko sets up bowling pins on the floor and rolls the ball towards them.
Hiko says, YA!
The ball knocks over the pins.
(All cheering)
Hiko says, YES!
Huhu rolls the ball.
Huhu says, OH... AND... WOO!
The pins are knocked over.
All say, YAY!
(Chuckling)
Momolu says, OH, WATCH ME!
(Laughing)
Momolu rolls the ball. It misses the pins and bounces off walls. It rolls back and knocks over the pins.
(All cheer)
(Playful music)
(Chuckling)
Momolu says, WOW, THAT WAS SO AWESOME!
(Thunder)
(Screams)
Momolu runs and hides in a corner.
(Whimpers)
Banni says, OH! I HAVE AN IDEA! I NEED TWO BALLOONS AND SOME FLOUR.
Huhu says, THAT SOUNDS MESSY!
Banni says, NOT MESSY AT ALL! WE'RE GOING TO MAKE A CALMING BALL. YOU'LL SEE.
(Bright music)
Banni and the others put supplies on a kitchen table.
Banni says, FIRST, WE POUR FLOUR INTO A BALLOON.
Banni fits a funnel to a deflated balloon. Huhu pours flour into the funnel.
Huhu says, UH-HUH!
Banni ties the balloon shut.
Banni says, THEN WE SNIP ANOTHER BALLOON... AND PUT IT OVER THE OTHER SO IT DOESN'T SPILL.
Kimu slides the cut balloon around the flour-filled balloon. Banni colours the balloon.
Banni says, SOME CRAYONS. AND VOILÀ!
(Chuckling)
Banni walks over to where Momolu sits on a chair. Banni hands him the balloon.
Banni says, JUST SQUEEZE IT.
(Thunder)
Momolu jumps.
(Whimpers)
Momolu squeezes the balloon ball and smiles.
Momolu says, AH...
(Chuckling)
Momolu says, WOW, THIS WORKS! I DON'T FEEL QUITE AS SCARED ANYMORE. THANKS, EVERYONE!
(Thunder)
Momolu squeezes the ball.
Momolu says, HMM... I DO WISH IT WAS A LITTLE BIGGER...
Banni says, HMM. IT IS TOO SMALL FOR A BIG PANDA.
All say, LET'S MAKE IT BIGGER!
(Laughing)
Hiko pours more flour into the funnel. He and Kimu fill a big yellow balloon. Huhu and Banni snip the end off of a big blue balloon.
Huhu says, MM-HMM!
They fit the blue balloon over the yellow. They colour bright patches on the balloon.
(Chuckling)
Banni says, HEY, MOMOLU, CHECK IT OUT!
(Gasps)
Hiko rolls the big ball to Momolu.
(Chuckling)
Momolu says, ROLY POLY PANDAS! IT'S JUST THE RIGHT SIZE. OH, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
(Thunder)
Momolu hugs the ball.
(Relieved sigh)
Momolu says, IT REALLY WORKS! I DON'T FEEL AS SCARED WHEN I'M SQUEEZING IT.
All cry, YAY!
(Loud crack of thunder)
Momolu squeezes the big ball.
Momolu says, HMM. HEY. WHERE DID EVERYONE GO?
The others are huddled under the table.
Momolu says, I GUESS THUNDER CAN SCARE ANYONE!
(Laughing)
